Hello, I've been looking and I'm seeing mixed answers. I see some saying it's impossible and some websites saying you can. I really just want root access as not all apps support shizuku and couldn't really care for custom roms. Thank you.
There is not root for United States Snapdragon. You would need an unlocked bootloader.

Hi,
I own a Huawei/Samsung Prism under T-Mobile (running Gingerbread 2.3.6) and I want to gain root access on it to remove bloatware. I have thoroughly searched the internet for any/all rooting techniques, in which none are compatible with my device and/or didn't work. I even looked at a few threads here regarding rooting a Prism phone but found things confusing and not so clarifying.
Does anyone know of an absolutely fool proof way to root this damned thing? Just give me the instructions/any files I need to download and I'll be set. I'm no noob when it comes to technology or following directions. I already have the driver installed, if that's useful info to any of you.
Thanks
I was actually wanting to post in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1980683
But it seems you are not allowed to post in that thread until you have posted at least 10 posts...which is great if you really only need to post in that one thread...
I urgently need to root the SHV-E330S, Build LRX22C.E330SKSUDOL4, that I just bought as right now it is rather useless to me...
I need to get rid of the Korean Telecom branding and make the phone understand that it is not in Korea anymore, and therefore not roaming...
But I cannot do that without it being rooted.
I checked everywhere, but I cannot find a CF-Auto-Root for that build.
I have the Recovery Image, which I was going to post in the above stated thread:
https://1drv.ms/u/s!At3VuFqpzytcgpRf36oYLgw_WPgCjA
That's a link to a OneDrive folder where I stored the Recovery Image.
Can anybody help me and possibly post a request for this in the above mentioned thread for me?
And does anybody have any further codes that allow me to find out whether I am up against a locked bootloader or not?
The codes I found so far did not work...
Or maybe someone has another idea how to find that out.
The phone has Knox installed, but it's a used phone anyway, so if warranty is void, then be it. It's one of the apps I then want to get rid of anyway.
Not sure if my phone has a flash counter.
Couldn't find out how to find that out either. Maybe someone has an idea on this one as well?
But that's only interesting with regards to warranty as well, I guess...so it does not really matter.
So, if anybody could help me in getting that CF-Auto-Root for my device and build?
And to find out whether my phone has a locked bootloader, that would be great...
Looking forward to your answers.
Kind regards,
Chris
I see there have been views. Is there nobody who could or would possibly help me?
Please?
I really need this CF-Auto-Root, but I cannot yet post in the corresponding thread.
It would be great if someone could help me out...
I very much hope that someone will have a heart and help me...
Alternatively, can anybody let me know how I can make a CF-Auto-Root myself?
Is there a program? Can I just exchange something in an existing root file?
Please, guys...I really need help...
If you have a custom recovery already, you can just flash SuperSu through it. No need for CF-Autoroot.
The bootloader won't be locked -- Korean variants of Samsung phones never are.
(also, did you try this link: https://download.chainfire.eu/493/C...-Auto-Root-ks01lteskt-ks01lteskt-shve330s.zip?)

Hi there!
Thanks for answering, and sorry my own answer comes so late, I had some internet issues now as well...what a surprise...when there is one thing, more will happen.
But back to the issue.
First of all, thanks for the info regarding the bootloader very likely not being locked. VERY good to know.
As for the CF-Auto-Root not being needed:
It might be correct that I could probably root the phone having the recovery image only...problem is, I cannot.
I know how to root with a CF-Auto-Root, that's easy enough...but without a step-by-step guide, I don't know how to root without a CF-Auto-Root....
As for the link, I cannot see which build this is for? Only which device...and as this list
https://autoroot.chainfire.eu/
which is supposed to be up to date, does not list my device with the requested build, but only with a different build, I am not sure the CF-Auto-Root in your link is the one I need.
And I don't want to completely brick my phone by using a root for a different build...
Do you by any chance have a step-by-step for me on how to root the phone without the CF-Auto-Root, when I have the recovery image?
So in an assist thread, PitPin talked about a vunerability in KitKat that could potentially give root, and in one of his posts he said that he reached userId:0. userId:0 is root privileges , however he hasn't been active in a long time . What I'm asking is that everyone contact him and anyone close to him so that he can post the code and/or app he used so that we can finally work on making some custom roms/recoveries.
just curious what is PitPin ? new root program ?
some other root method that didn't trip knox available on kitkat (for example) kingsroot than you can upgrade using flashfire to lollipop.

PitPin was a developer on the forums that was trying to figure out a way to access root privileges on the A variant of the Alpha. KingRoot wasn't able to root this variant, which is why most people steer clear of AT&T phones because of their restrictive nature
Hi, I'm new to this community. I have experience jailbreaking my iphone, but I am unfamiliar with how the different rooting applications work across multiple platforms (e.g. are they universal). I was thinking of buying a Sonim XP8 because it has a bunch of interesting features that I haven't seen on mainstream phones. However, I am not willing to buy one unless I am able to root it. Is my dream possible?
I too would like an XP8 with root. Is there anyone who can help with this request per chance?

I did read somewhere (on XDA) that someone rooted the XP7 with kingoRoot, but....that's all I've found.

I tried kingoroot, and it failed. I haven't been able to find any options either. Hopefully, someone has some ideas. I have come to rely on root to block ads. They are beyond horrible.
any update yet? is there any root yet ive tried about every root apps i cant even find working drivers for this phone
Sonim xp8 dual sim issue
When i put 2 sim cảd to the device but only 1 work
I talked to Sonim about getting root access as there is a problem with my Xp3800 flip and I know its just a xml edit. They told me the phone cannot be rooted as its encrypted and has secure boot which makes sense as these are geared towards public safety
Hello Everyone,
I'm new to the forum and have been reading old posts to get current on the state of the collective effort here. Though I'm looking to contribute overall anyway I can, my current short term goal is to get hotspot working with my current carrier (Mint) with the used XP8 I purchased. The handset was originally an AT&T phone and came with the Android 8 update installed.
At the moment, I'm attempting to get the 10 firmware update hoping that might solve the hotspot issue, but I suspect that it's the carrier specific software baked into the image that's the real cause.
Today I reached out to AT&T and, despite not being a customer, they claimed to have allowed my phone (By IMEI) to get access to the 10 update. We'll see if it actually works as the tech indicated that it would take two hours for the authorization to propagate. If so, I'll attempt to pull off the firmware and share it.
Hi world
Im just a newbie here.
And i recently got a used Droid dna
With the version 4.09.605.8
That's what i can afford for the moment
Stock official rom. No root, no s-off, no unlocked boot
I read a lot of old threads before posting this one
And all the answers were pointing to a payed tool called sunshine or moonshine
In My country we can't even have access to an international payement card and 25$ is a lot lot of money. So you could see THE REAL CAN COME A DREAM not the Dream Come true.
Im wondring if there is a free way or tool could help me to root my phone and install a twrp recovery so i will be able to make backup and a lot of stuff
Please tell if Im in the right thread
And what are the safe steps to root my phone etc
Still no answer
