Hi to all, after the update via OTA to EMUI 12 (Mate 10 PRO), the vocal audio that I sent through Whatsapp are "empty", like no one speaking. With Telegram no issues. Already reinstalled whatsapp. Anyone with same issues?

I have a similar issue, but in my case when recording an audio message directly in Whatsapp, this audio has not good quality, I mean, there are much noice in the background and the audio' voice is not clear than before. Did you already resolve your issue? And if you did, How? Thanks in advance

Noticed the skype app runs ok, but doesn't like the microphone input, sounds overdriven and noisy, unusable. I have all EQ and noise reduction setting off.
This was in a quiet environment.
Hope its just a minor tweak needed, the test call receive audio was excellent.
I observed this too.
Mine too. Hope someone reports this so they will fix it.

Thanks for the confirmations.
Skype Devs... help!
Skype is unusable for me as well due to this.
Skype is absolutely not usable for me. Other party only hears noise and nothing else. Waiting for a fix ASAP coz this is one of the main features I been looking for.
Does anyone know if there are plans to fix Skype on the atrix? This is a pretty major screw up on their part...
Has anyone tried Skype with the second microphone disabled?
I just got off the phone with Motorola tech support and their answer is that they don't support Skype and suggested using Qik instead. Doesn't seem like they plan on making any fixes for it as of now.

And how can we do that?
In settings / call settings / noise suppression.

Does not help.
In fact ALL VOIP apps i tried simply do not work.
Motorola really messed this up. i tried cSipsimple, spidroid, fring, tango, Skype, line2....nothing works like it should.
Has anyone tried using a microphone through the headphone jack? This way we can find out where the error is.
have downloaded skype, pretty dumb that i am unable to make calls over hspa+, whenever i try to make a call it states:
"IN THE UNITED STATES, YOU CAN ONLY MAKE SKYPE CALLS OVER WIFI" anyway to remove this?
Did not experience any of the background noise yet, the device is fairly new, trying to find out info myself to help others out, will follow up on any info i find out.
Re: Skype audio distorted on Atrix
I have tried with the NR turned off which should stop the second mic. No difference. Interestingly the Audio Tool app has an oscilloscope that shows seriously overdriven input- noise and clipping. Mirrors what I hear in test calls to my voice mail via Skype. If Qik works, but Skype does not, it must be how the app is accessing the inputs.
no update on this post in several days. do we know of any more updates? i am assuming Skype is fixing something and will come out with an update soon?
any time frame of this update?

It is not a skype problem. it is a Motorola software problem as all VOIP apps on the market simply don't work on the Atrix.
Any application that is trying to access the sound drivers is having issues on this phone.

i guess i stand corrected. thank you for pointing this out to me.
is there an update in the future that we could be expecting?
This drives me nuts. I need skype so bad.
Not just Skype, Basically ALL VOIP apps aren't working because of how Motorola changed the api for the mic. Qik is the ONLY one that works.
Motorola acknowledge the problem and Motorola has to fix this ASAP!

When I send voice notes on WhatsApp and telegram, when I record voice clips with the stock recorder, the problem persist also with earphones!
Apparently disappear when I use Google Duo!
I'm going to change my honor 9 with a brand new one, hope this problem don't persist anymore

Yes please have it replaced. Problems like this should never occur on any phone
My Honor 9 also have this problem. I haven't tried Google Duo, everything else is just as described above. Bought another Honor 9, saw it behaved the same way and returned the latter... It seems to be a general problem of Honor 9, maybe noise suppression system does not work very well after all...
Do you have the same issue with phone calls? If you don't then it's probably a software issue

I Contacted huawei support via email and they recommended wiping/reformat the cache partition and that helped to solve the issue.
Guys, i got my new honor 9 EU edition. all review are speaking about a perfect phone but for me there is a big problem that i didnt have in lg v10. as the mic is integrated inside the speaker (very bad idea for me), when i use messeger for conference and during a spotify playback i want to record a whatsapp voice message, bearely people can heard me. is this the issue you are occurring also?
Yes, it's happening to my Honor 9 too. I'll send them an email too.
Problem solved

I solved in the same way!
Boot in recovery mode holding volume up
Choose wipe cache
Reboot system
Enjoy your voice messages on Telegram & Co. with perfect volume!
Bye!

Hey srry for my english im LAT but i have a problem with my GR5 KII-L23 the microphone just record in stereo but not in mono, it just seems like noisy scratchs, thats because i can record sound when i record a video or even in the voice recorder stock app, but in every voice search like google or youtube it just dont work, whatsapp neither, so there's anyway to get the phone working only in stereo for all apps?
Thanks in advance

Hi
I am running Lineage OS 16 on my Honor 5X and recently noticed strange behavior when using the Google Duo app.
When on a Google Duo voice call (not video call) there is no sound coming from the earpiece speaker when the person I called speaks. In other words I can't hear the person I called.
Also, the person I called cannot hear me when I speak.
If I switch to bottom firing loud speaker on my Honor 5X during a Google Duo voice call, I can then hear the person I called when he/she speaks, and he/she can also hear me when I speak.
My gut feeling is that there is a bug on Lineage OS 16 for the Honor 5X that is the cause of this odd behaviour.
Have any of you guys experienced a similar bug when using Google Duo on the Honor 5X ?
Thank you

I get extremely low mic volume when recording voice notes I know this is not an OS or hardware issue because the mic works perfectly on other apps including Instagram or telegram voice notes.
It is so low that I literally have to place the bottom mic on my lips to get a half decent volume recording level. This problem also doesn't exist in the Whatsapp Business app.
A temporary work around I found is to activate another app using the mic like any other voice recorder set actively to recording and then switch to Ehatsapp and record your voice note. Whatsapp support have proved entirely useless with canned responses every time I email them.
Just the normal and beta version of the standard Whatsapp messenger. I'm wondering if anyone else is having this issue.
Hello. I 'm having the same issue since some months ago.
I were not able to find a solution yet. Just received the update 11.2.7.7 but have not tried if this helped to solve the issue or not.
I checked with telegram and realized, the issue was only shown in whatsapp.
I'm yet to receive this update. It should reflect in a few days though. Kindly let me know if this update fixed it
Did you guys find a fix for this?
