Hi People of the world! As you can see im new to here so yeah i just might be in the wrong section...
So, I just got my shiny android a week ago, and know it sits on my desk, lifeless, like a brick. Like literally its dead! I don't know if I can fix it or the BIOS (if theres one in Samsung Galaxies) is fried, or maybe the motherboard is fried, or the battery overcharged, etc. But I just cant do anything! I'm totally out of ideas!
Heres the problem, I first rooted my android successfully, and played around with my android a while. But as you expect I just coudn't wait for the jelly bean update! So, I desided I would give a try to take the Russian firmware instead. That was already a bad idea, but I read on some threads that it would work fine, so I downloaded one from Sammobile.com. The real mistake? I downloaded the wrong phone. I own a Samsung Galaxy S Advance NFC Version;GT-I9070P The one I downloaded was UnNFC version; GT-I9070. Well, I didn't realize that, and proceeded with entering download mode and eventually flashing the PDA file from Sammobile with ODIN. So I pressed start. It started the process, and after 5 min it said in blue: RESET. I saw the phone rebooting. Now, another big mistake: I started touching the power button, which I shouldn't have done. Then, instead of waiting, as soon as seeing the thing wasnt booting, I took out the battery and unplugged the USB cable. Then after a while the PASS appeared in green. So it went successfully? NONONO Now it wont boot! More specifically, it wont TURN ON! like it wont whow any sign of life. As if it had no battery or USB.
Today I discovered, If I hold Vol UP+Power+Home when its connected to my PC, it makes the beep, shows that it failed to install the driver for "U8500 USB ROM" What the (*^&(&%*(&^&* is that??? Also, in 5 seconds, the device disappears, meaning that I must hold the button combo for another 20 seconds.
So, I've got no connectivity to ODIN, nor Kies, and I cant go into download mode, nor recovery mode.
Any Help?
Pleeaase if you can help youre a super god of androids!
ok, so if I understand correctly, You can't even turn on a phone - no samsung logo, no yellow triangle, nothing, right?

Exactly. Nothing at all.
The only evidence that its not fried is that the computer detects it as U8500 USB ROM for 5 seconds whenever i hold the power button or any combination. Nothing on the phone though.
Hey

Yeah i think I should take it to service too, but I want to try at least first:cyclops:
I've just repeated exactly the same steps as the OP on my GT-9070P and have "successfully" bricked my two-week-old phone. If someone happens to find a solution, please share. :crying:

Ikr its really bad to break your phone as soon as i get it. Worse, for me its a few of days to my birthday! Worse thing that could happen. I will PM you if i happen to find a good solution. Also, to make it really the worst thing, the GT-I9070 is one of the less popular phones (not like the s3). The NFC version? Even rarer! So not only are there not many developers working for that phone, not many people have really encountered problems with the phone at all.

Please help! I also bricked my Samsung S Advance I9070P after downgrading from JB to GB, since JB was updated for India I9070...but the phone bricked after downgrade. Everything was successful and it had auto-rebooted after the downgrade and stuck with Start up screen. When I removed battery and tried again..it bricked! No recovery mode, No download mode, no power on.

So you find any solution? I have a similar problem right now.
So I was charging my phone, and it restarted itself and now it's stuck in a bootloop!
I can't access download mode or recovery, it keeps restarting before I have the opportunity to press any buttons (hardware or on screen) and removing the battery does nothing either, as soon as I put the battery back in, the phone resets without me even pushing the power button
I'm using Temasek CM11 v8 with the "201113-1248-cm11-i9300-r3p2-linux30101-BOEFFLA-temasek" kernel
Is it recoverable?
I've managed to get it into both Recover and Download mode briefly, but both times the phone restarted within a few seconds back to the bootloop
Sounds like the power button is shorted out, fairly cheap repair if so.

Thanks for the reply. What makes you think that it's the power button shorting?
Holding power button for 5 seconds acts as a hard reset, everywhere.
That's a good starting point actually. There's no reason for download mode to reboot automatically. If it loaded then it waits for the events. Either it works until you do anything with a PC, or doesn't work at all.
hi
try using a universal battery charger and then try again

Ah Well I suppose that makes it pretty conclusive. 2 hours later and it's still bootlooping... I'd take it apart but I don't really know what i'm looking for and I suspect if it's shorting, something will need replacing or soldering etc. Thanks very much

I don't think I have one, I shall check though. Thanks very much
The issue of having it shortly resetting once reinstalled the battery sounds to me like a hardware failure, most probably hard resetting all the time.
A hardware repair should help fix this.

It's funny you say that, after hours and hours of trying to get my phone to work, somehow through more luck than judgement I managed to get it into recovery and flash WanamLite 7.2 (I figured it was the next best thing to stock, as I couldn't access download mode) and well... since then, touch wood my phone hasn't restarted itself even once... now granted in that time i've only touched the power button once, to turn on the device, but it seems like progress to me
So my question is, is it possible that I could of had a bad flash or something? It seems too coincidental to me, and I don't actually think the different ROMs have anything to do with the problem (that is still lingering beneath I suspect), but the optimist in me REALLY wants it to be fixed haha
EDIT: Oh and thank you tweetatoo for your reply

Possible its the well known multipleromflashed problem .

Interesting, thanks. It's just a bit confusing, it seems plausible because I flashed the ROM earlier in the day but at the same time, im not sure how much control the new ROM would have over the phone entering Download Mode... Mind boggling.
I'll keep an eye on it for a bit... and im still too scared to use the power button haha
Thanks very much
Download mode is entirely separate to the rom, I still think your power button shorted out (stuck down) as it's been reported many times before. If you have warranty then now would be the time to triangle away and return to stock for a while, just in case.

Hi everyone
After a 15-20' of charging time (phone's being off), my Mediapad X1 GOES ITSELF IN FASTBOOT MODE (prompted on screen). Of course no buttons where pressed, and multiple chargers and cable have been tested.
I guess that this is because power off button is set to put the device not completly off (keeping some ressources available, for a more "fast boot"). a kind of deep sleep/hibernate state like on some computers.
Nobody knows where to find the option for non fastboot mode when using the power off button (usually a fastboot checkbox), as available on other android devices? I've found nothing on my system settings (Kikat B103 for 7D-501L).
thx
As far as I heard from other users, they don't get fastboot mode, whan charging with power off! Even long time charging.
There mustbe a parameter to set "NOT going in fastboot mode when tuning the device off". If not on the device system settings., maybe with adb?
thks for any help!
You need to change the mother board from your X1 in official service. It is a warranty case.

Well, if this is the only problem with my X1 (as it is by now), I doubt I'll send it back for that. I can charge with power on!
Moreover, as the recovery is custom, and the telephone rooted, it might be a trouble for the warranty, but clearly more, this can be the cause for such a weird charging behaviour.
But thanks for the advice anyway. I'll get any other clue by the way....
It also happens to my X1. I thought was related to the fact I've installed a custom recovery. Is this also your case?

Definitly !!!
And I reckon this is the reason why.
I'll have to turn back to stock recovery when the next OTA wil show up (it seems the update process with sdload folder at reboot is related to the non-custom recovery), so I'll have a confirmation then. I'm just waiting for the next OTA for 7D-503L B103 kikat.
Anyway thanks a lot for confirming my doubts!
So my phone is having a weird problem and i dont think i know the trigger. It works fine before, and suddenly it just shut down by itself. At first, i have to wait 1 hour, yes 1 hour and i can turn it on and get into android and use it again. If i turn it on before 1 hour, it cant go into the android system, and soon after the mi logo it will turned off and i have to wait again for 1 hour, weird right? And after that it works fine as long as i dont turn it off or restart it, or if it doenst turn off it self and i can use it for days. BUT, now, it just wont get into the android system even when i already wait 1h+, and now its just sitting there for dayss, still cant get into the system.
Do you guys know whats the problem? Can i just re flash it with the newest miui? Last time i use it, it still on miui 11 i think, so can i just flash it with miui 11 again with no problems? I dont really know about the anti rollback something or whatever im afraid i will hardbrick it lol.
P.S. i already had the same issue before, but not long after that the phone's dead, literally dead, no responses or anything just totally dead, and i brought it to mi service center, problem solved. I think they said they replaced the board so i got fresh new phone hw inside. But now i got the same issue again but, the difference is it still can be turned on, not dead.

Hi I downloaded the official mi flash tool, but I got an error when I tried to install the driver.
Error/ unhandled exception has occurred in your application.
So I looked for a solution and found a video on YouTube, if you add a folder with the name log it will install, mines didn't, it came up with some Chinese text, and a box underneath with the word OK, naturally I clicked on OK but nothing happened, have I missed something any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

I don't actually understand what you trying to do.
Check my POCO F1 Ultimate Collection & Guides.

Hi my pocophone f1 motherboard packed in, so I got a replacement from aliexpress, I got someone to fit it for me, the reviews for the board I got were quite good, the only complaint was the front facing camera, was not working, I later on learned that the operating system had developed a bug, and Xiaomi were trying to fix it I hope my information is correct maybe you can clear this up?
So I was keeping in touch by text, with the guy fitting my new motherboard, and he said all was going well and the phone was updating, about 20 mins later he mentioned the problem with the camera, I replied that I had already read something about it, so he told me he had firmware to fix it, two days later he told me the phone was ready come pick it up, I asked if everything was all good he said yes, however he then proceeded to tell me that the phone wasn't booting properly and the only way to boot it up was to hold down the power key, and volume down at the same time, my first thought was I won't turn it off much, however then he said when it was booted the screen was constantly on, however he said i think you've been unlucky and got a bad motherboard and he would keep his eye out to get me a better one, so i payed him and took the phone.
Later that night something else really annoying was happening, the volume button would not stay up, and sure enough the screen was constantly on, which i thought i could live with, but it started to bug me and to get the volume working properly i had to hold the power button to turn it off, but there was no option for a reboot, or shut down, and when I turned it on it went straight to fastboot, for two days I sent complaints to aliexpress but I got nowhere, they said it was fully tested and my installation must have been wrong I totally disagreed.
However the more I thought about it, I was thinking that maybe something did go wrong when the guy was installing the firmware but I trusted him, and he had been helpful and I thought he was being truthful, so that's why I'm trying to reflash it now in the Hope it can maybe fix the problem, cause I feel I've nothing to lose now as the phone is pretty much useless stuck in fastboot, and for me to boot it I have to mess with the power and volume, and sometimes it boots in safe mode as well really annoying, can you help please is there a fix?

@Stevie if you want to install the stock ROM again from scratch, check my guide "Clean Install Official Stock ROM".
If that doesn't help, maybe u got a bad motherboard as you said or the guy didn't changed it correctly.

Thanks I'll give it a try, I also read somewhere that it has to have the (Qualcomm Adreno 630 GPU), or else it won't flash properly, they said the boards are original, but just wondering if maybe they had a cheaper GPU or something, but I'm second guessing because the buyer I bought from had decent reviews and people got their phones working again.
