Question Help - OnePlus Nord N20 5G

I have soft-bricked my Nord N20 5g but have a backup copy of all original partitions. However I'm not certain what order and what fastboot commands will flash all my partitions. Any help would be appreciated.

It's the T- mobile gn2200 model I actually have a second handset I'm using to ask this.

Managed to disable usable LTE bands on Redmi Note 4 SD

Hi guys,
After reading through many of the different guides here regarding how to enable different LTE bands (band 20 I'm interested in) I decided to give it a go on my new Note 4.
After some tinkering with the binary values etc from this guide here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note/general/unlock-lte-bands-step-step-xiaomi-mi-t3084774
It did not seem to do anything since band 20 in the place I live is usually not that strong signal wise compared to band 3 and 7.
So I thought: "Yeah, I'll just disable the other 2 and see if the band 20 works". This was unsuccessful and after some more tinkering I managed to completely lock out the whole LTE functionality of my phone.
Even inserting the decimal value from before I started this is working.
Any ideas on how to do a reset of the LTE part of the modem? Tried flashing an updated baseband, but to no avail.
Try doing
Code:
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
and then flash following this guide.
Attention when flashing with MiFlash: in the lower part of the window you can choose different .bat files, choose the flash_factory.bat (or flash_all.bat if flash_factory.bat won't work). Don't choose any .bat with lock in the name or you'll re-lock the bootloader.
Hi,
Tried to erase the modems, but I'm getting "Error: This image isn't allow download) error.
Any tips on how to get that to work? Tried using the old Google trick, but did not find a good solution for that.
I got that error too while flashing the FSG partition in flash_factory.bat but I didn't investigate on the problem, just used another flash.bat.
I searched for this error, looks like it's present only on recent devices (Redmi Note 4 and Redmi 4 variants). Maybe it's a new kind of protection, some partitions become read-only when we unlock the bootloader, to preserve the phone functionality?
If that's the case, first flash flash_all_lock.bat, that will flash the MIUI ROM and relock the bootloader (possibly unlocking the protected partitions), then re-flash the same ROM but using the flash_factory.bat (that contains a couple of flashing commands not present in the other .bat files, including the erase modemst commands).
Then, you can also try flashing via fastboot also the persist.img, just to be sure
Code:
fastboot flash persist persist.img
(this is not present in any .bat file)
At last check if the phone is working, and then you can unlock the bootloader easily, without any wait.
EDIT: I'm wrong, you cannot use fastboot to flash when the bootloader is locked (even if the images are original from Xiaomi).
Only solution I can think about now is, while the bootloader is unlocked, you can try to access the blocked partitions with other tools like Flashify (like you did while damaging them).
Managed to get it working again, with a separate xqcn backup which I modded with the IMEI numbers from my own phone

Can you link to the qcn file? I'm facing a similar problem and I would need that file.

Question Un-bricking my Nord N200

Don't ask me why, but I tried to upload a GSI using fastboot to my N200. And that didn't work. So I then read online about other people getting the same error I had, and their fix was deleting the "product" partition and erasing the system partition
Now my phone is stuck in fastboot and won't boot from an image, take a recovery image, etc. etc. it's kinda completely messed up and it's my fault for trying to tinker with commandline tools.
The problem is there is no MSM recovery for my phone, and even if there was virtualbox can't detect my phone's USB(I've already tried with just the nord MSM, I run linux and I was using a win10 VM)
Is there any hope? Do I have to go to a repair shop?
First post has a section specifically about the drivers you'll need to have your phone recognized in fastboot mode:
The Quest for a Bootloader Unlock (partial guide, T-Mobile variant, may work for MetroPCS/Metro variant)
OK, this process has been hell, but I'm gonna try and consolidate everything I've worked out so far in one place. This all applies only to the T-Mobile variant (ie. it comes preloaded with all the T-Mobile bloatware) of the N200 on the T-Mobile...

That said, I'm pretty sure you're stuck until the MSM tool comes out (the MSM tool is different for each phone, DO NOT use one for a different OnePlus phone) to fix it yourself.

Ah. Sadly, I have next to no experience with Linux outside of the tinkering I've done on my Raspberry Pis, so can't help you there.

My experience with USB passthrough on different hypervisors is that they all suck. I have to use Windows at work, so I use it for most of the tools including MSM tools.
That being said, I've never seen a real difference in adb / fastboot on Linux or Windows.
Have you tried calling OnePlus by chance?

No, but there is a 100% chance that they'll just tell me to use their repair program. Which I'll be surprised if it's under $100 for me to mail it in, have some dude spend 5 minutes flashing it, and then mail it back

Hey there, so I managed to get a hold of the MSM tools this morning. Since I have to go out soon, I'll upload them later. Once I upload them, you should be able to unbrick your phone.

Excellent! This will be of so much help to many folks out here who have bricked their phones. Look forward to your sharing the tool.
Is the MSMDownload tool, that you got, for the Tmobile version or the unlocked version/retail or both?

It's for the T-Mobile version. Someone with a retail N200 will have to request a "remote session" with OP support in order to get the MSM tools for the retail version.

@lzgmc, thanks.
How does this "remote session" with OP work? Does one report that the phone is bricked, and then they send you the tool which you execute? Or do they run the tool in real time using a remote desktop tool, but then one has to somehow capture their MSMDownlod tool using some other tool? Do they not try to delete the downloaded tool?
If you could share your detailed experience of this "remote session", and how to capture the MSMDownload tool, it would be of tremendous help. I don't own a retail/unlocked N200, but your experience can perhaps help those who have one, in getting the MSMDownload tool for the retail version. It would benefit the Tmobile users too, in finding a way to potentially convert Tmobile version to retail version. Thanks!

That is a pity. The MSMDownload Tool seems to be the only way to fix this.
The good news is that the MSMDownload Tool is now available with Oneplus support, as of today e.g. until last week, folks out here posted that Oneplus support did not have the tool released to them. Perhaps you can contact Oneplus support and request a "remote session" to unbrick it similar to what @lzgmc did, and get your phone un-bricked sooner? If you do so, try to grab a copy of the MSMDownload Tool that they use in the session and share it with others out here. I am sure @lzgmc will post it soon, but no harm in having multiple copies available.

@lzgmc Do you happen to recall which version of Oxygen OS the MSMDownlod tool is for? 11.0.1.4 or 11.0.1.5?

OP N10 5G / TMO / BE2025.BE88CB / 11.0.2.BE88CB = Rooting impossible?

There's no way to root this a phone with the following, is there?
OP N10 5G / TMO / BE2025.BE88CB / 11.0.2.BE88CB
- Bootloader unlocked.
- Not rooted.
Seems to me there's no MSM tool for the BE88CB (TMO) variant, no TWRP, and no flashed boot images available.
Do I have this right? Rooting is impossible?
How much of a loss do you want to risk? (I think a refurb is ~$250 now for an international).
I'd try the TWRP for the international one, and you can flash Magisk directly from that (rename .apk to .zip); I've never needed the boot images.
If that doesn't work, I think you can MSM the ENTIRE international recovery image over it... even if you lose some of the T-mo bands (m-wave?) it is still pretty quick (mine is a international phone, on Tmo, 5G works great for me).
If the bootloader is unlocked, you should be in good shape.
YMMV, no refunds, at your own risk, etc. I have gotten braver in my old age, though.
I've been through this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...bile-metro-w-locked-bootloader.4297501/page-5
But both links to MSM the TMO to GLO are dead, so the MSM is currently not available.
The TWRP for the international... I'll happily try that, do you know where it is? I've tried booting to 3.5.2_10-1 and it boots but the touchscreen doesn't work via `fastboot boot` (not `fastboot flash boot` ) which can be found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/twrp-3-5-2_10-billie-twrp-for-oneplus-nord-n10-5g-beta.4256333/

nah man you can actually unlock the bootloader without tmo carrier unlock and root...see my guide to do that, its as straight forward as any other oneplus, but basically you have to request the bootloader unlock code from oneplus, then assuming your carrier unlocked or use the guide to break the carrier lock functionality. If your already at that point grab the boot image for your version, store on device, root that image with magisk manager then flash it in bootloader

Here's one not rooted. Came from a restore package on telegram, you might check it out...it's 11.02 or 10.5.12 for restore .no msm needed...worked for me with fastboot.
##copy/pasted from telegram, I did NOT make these, just helping people save time.....oh if your on Linux run dos2unix on the bat file, you'll also have to change reboot-bootloader to reboot bootloader and set-active-slot becomes set_active a/b
**********************
I've put together two bundles to restore the OnePlus Nord N10 5G to Factory OS without the need for MSM Download Tool. One for OOS10 and one for OOS11.
Simply boot into the bootloader (Fastboot mode) and run the script! ("OnePlusNordN10_Restore.bat") (Roughly 5 minute duration to restore, give or take)
Note that all custom ROMs currently available require you to be on OOS10 in order to boot successfully. We hope to change this soon, but this is how it is for now until OnePlus properly re-syncs their Android 11 Kernel.
These are for the International variants only! If you require the European firmware, you will have to extract it's OTA payload and replace the appropriate files.

Unlocking SIM for OnePlus N10 5g

Hi community, currently working as an android programmer, in the middle east especially in yemen and Iam facing a problem with a OnePlus Nord 10 locked with SIM+bootloader and Iam looking for a solution to unlock them to work with the local carrier here with any solution available.
Hello
Are there any updates on that ? Mine cannot be unlocked without previous owner ( TMO )
- are there any proven methods if bootloader unlocked / rooted ?
- are there proven services ?
Thank you

Hey have you found anything? I'm looking for the same thing.
Following
I've been on this same issue (trying to unlock my T-mobile variant of same phone, Oneplus Nord N10 5G) for quite some time now.
What I have successfully done, as prerequisites, are:
1. Unlocked Bootloader
2. Rooted Phone with Magisk
3. Flashed stock rom: Global version
4. Backed up some necessary 'critical partition' files such as boot.img, recovery.img, modem.st1, modem.st1, modem_a and modem_b.
Many people suggested deleting the modem_st1 and modem_st2 files would unlock the sim network.
Well, after the backup, I was able to issue an erase command (which only works in Fastbootd) to erase/delete the 2 files, modemst1 and modemst2.
Unfortunately, that hasn't unlocked the sim network yet. The only thing is has done is to stop the phone from prompting that the sim network is locked and .......
So, that's where I am at with same issue y'all have.
Just thought I'd share to help someone

No, I don't think so since flashing the critical partition is done in fastbootd, which is outside of the actual android operating system environment.
Anyways, all info needed is in this link:

This is a video tutorial on YouTube for the MetroPCS version, but works same for the Tmobile version as well:

Thanks a lot! I installed the global rom using it and currently, my sim is working. I am not sure if it is because I unlocked my sim temporarily.

What is that?
After reading this thread, it seems we can successfully flash global ROM, but that has no effect on SIM being locked from t-mobile. Every time I try to unlock using the settings, it always kicks back an error. Anyone successfully unlock N10 from t-mobile without using the built in unlock under settings?

General OnePlus Nord N200 5G DE2118 Finally Unbricked.....

I'd like to start by saying after 2 weeks of researching and piecing guides together to unbrick my phone was hell. But once i found the right route it took me less thank 10mins all from a simple tool called Fastboot Enhanced V1.3.0. Now this Nifty little tool took me from bricked phone which was saying "Your img(Boot, Recovery) have been destroyed please flash the right files or contact customer service to fix this problem to Unbricked in less than 10 minutes. It took me 2 weeks of researching but it's finally done. Now most of you will say well you could have use MSMTool or the MTK or even SP Flash Tool. Those are all fine and dandy and all but one problem with those. YOU have to SCOUR the internet to TRY to find files you need to actually be able to use them. I been over several guides. I had when a guide basically says this 1) DO THIS SKIP SKIP SKIP important parts 2) NOW DO THIS. Like WTH was i supposed to do in between 1 and 2. Todays guides lack thoroughism and complettioin. Guides these days take Half Ste;ps and then thrown together.
I will also leave a step by step instructions on how to use the Fastboot Enhanced V1.3.0 in DETAIL on how to get your phone from what mine did to Unbricked state. I will also attack Nord N200 5G DE2118 .img FIles for those who have a hard time scouring the internet for things. I for one get agitated and aggravated as hell when searching the internet for things. Especially when you have to pc things together. I will leave files if it's Fine by staff. Now these files have come directly from my OnePlus Nord N200 DE2118 extracted less than 2 hours ago 10:04 p.m. EST September 10th 2022. Can Only attach One File? and i can't even remove the accidental clicked bmp pic of COD BO Cold War Zombies.
Guide For Using Fastboot Enhanced V1.3.0
1) Download Fastboot Enhanced Tool from: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...enhance-payload-dumper-image-flasher.4310553/ from XDA Which is how I came across it. . The Tool is a WINDOWS ONLY Tool. (How many guides i came accross that didn't state whether it's for Windows or Linux) I use Dual Boot so I have both.
2) Install Fastboot Enhanced V1.3.0 and wait for it to finish. Now you will only have to be in Fastboot Mode to do any of this. I can't believe how a semi hard problem was fixed really easy
3) Now you will Have to Have a Payload.Bin File which can be found with any OEM Firmware for Your specific Phone. The Payload.bin allows you to be able to do a Payload Dump Using Fastboot enhance it is at this point if any of your partitions are missing or corrupt you will find out because it will tell you if you can understand the way it's explains it.
4) This Nifty little tool will tell you your device naem whether your phone is using secure boot or not, current slot your phone is using if you have an a/b partition scheme and the update Status. This is Listed Under basice properties. AGAIN MAKE SURE YOUR IN FASTBOOT MODE.
5) Next tab is the Partitions Tab which will List all your partitions currently on your phone . To the right of your listed partitions you will have and ACTIONS Tab. This is the tab where you can flash, erase, delete, create, and Resize your partitions. With this tool You CAN Flash Important Partions So be careful what you flash.
6) Next Tab Over is the Payload Dumper. This is the Tab where you need the Payload.bin File for your specific phone. this will give you payload version manifest size, metadata signatures size Metadata Signatures (Base64), data blobs, singatures size signatures (Base64) Fuill package Yes or No. Timestamp and block size. also under payload dumper tab another tab shows up called the Dynamic Partition Metadata. Now this will list your REALLY IMPORTANT Dynamic Partitions These are the partitions you don't want to flash anything over them. It will give you the Partition group size, which partitions are included and tells you wheter snapshot is enabled or not.
7) Under The payload Dumper tab the partitions tab gets a different Actions box. This time i'ts a box that let's you extract your .IMG files from your phone it allows for incremental as well as to ignore unknown operations and ignore checksums also under this partitions tab it gives you a checksum for each and every one of your partitionss. Ok now on to the Simple but yet comprehensive guide.
8) Now to start you want to add the Payload.bin to the Payload Dumper and then click on the Partitions tab. Once under this tab you will select each partition and hit the extract button and extract it to a folder named something like Flash FIles.
9) you hace to do this for each partition. Once done you will have your .IMG files from your exact phone for future use as well. You then want to click on the Fastboot Visualization tab and then click on Partitions.
10) Once under the partitions tab here, you will want to start flashing your .IMG files to the partitions. it should take you around 10 to 15 mins total to finish flashing everything.
11) Once your finished flashing you want to do a quick Terminal and do a FASTBOOT -W and then Fastboot Reboot and watch your phone start working again.
FEEL FREE TO LEAVE ANY COMMENTS SUGGESTIONS ON WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER OR IF IT'S NOT ENOUGH DETAIL. I TAKE CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM WITH A GRAIN OF SALT. THIS WAS MY FIRST GUIDE I EVER PUT TOGETHER. LOL THIS GUIDE TOOK ME LONGER THAN IT DID UNBRICKING MY PHONE.

Thanks so much man. This phone has been an absolute pain in my ass to unbrick, the issue Ive had with Fastboot enchance is that all the firmware versions Ive found seem to contain images it doesnt recognize for the phone.
Do you have the original OTA for these , or the un-extracted payload.bin youd possibly be able to post?
So I went through the process without success, the only abnormalities I noticed were that my device did not have a partition for "my_carrier.img" , so that wasnt flashed.
And upon using the fastboot -w command, it did execute but at the end was given the message "Erase successful, but not automatically formatting.
File system type raw not supported."

I found the way MSMTool works too. I'm going to probably write a guide for that too. MSMTool is so much easier.

I had a lot of issues with Fastboot Enhance too until I realized I was the one causing errors. Any logical partition it doesn't recognize you can create an empty partition wiht that name and it will resize it then copy it over. Also make sure whatever slot you're on, so say slot a, your logic paritions would be system_a, system_ext_a, vendor_a, product_a and odm_a except I dont see odm.img in the list of file by OP so I'm not sure if that will even help.
and now i have ran into HARD BRICKED mode trying to flash a custom from. phone will only load EDL and everytime I try msmtool I get the error Check OCDT CDT file empty please redownload it. and I scoured the internet for 4 days now and all I can find is stuff like What is .CDT extension but nothing about having and empty CDT file for android. getting frustrated with it now

Hey I appreciate it but I didn't need it I was just informing the poster above that the ODM file was missing and that might cause an issue when using Enhanced Fastboot. Not really sure what a cdt file is though, sorry.
