Did you upgrade to Android 13 One UI 5?
I know that since I installed Android 13 OneUI 5, my battery has been draining faster when in standby. Prior to the update, after sleeping for 6 hours my battery drain was between 4 to 5 %. Now it drains more than 10%. I factory reset after I installed the update.

Yes I did update to one ui 5 but I've factory reset it multiple times after following countless battery saving steps and they seemed to have helped a bit but still not as much.
Now I actually have more of a problem with when the phones on its draining fast on my other phone I was using Spotify, WhatsApp, insta and a load more and it wasn't draining my battery as much as it is on this phone I can bearly get a full day with spotify playing music to my Bluetooth headphones, me texting people on WhatsApp, maybe slight gaming, and calling on WhatsApp drains it and that's another compared to my old phone plz help or at least give me your thoughts. Thank you.

Sorry for the late response. Like you I have factory reset several times. I have slimmed down the phone as much as possible of extra stuff (Samsung apps/services that I find useless through ADB) and I have seen slight improvement.
Searching online, it seems that quite a few galaxy device models (S21/S21FE) have reported similar issues. Even the Pixel line has some similar battery issues. I hope that Google and Samsung can release updates to address the problems soon.
Well, android 13 battery drain is because google implemented more "ad targeting system apps" that guess what.....those are harvesting more data from you USING YOUR BATTERY, YOUR CPU, YOUR STORAGE AND YOUR PHONE INTERNET BANDWIDTH. ....one of them is even about their new "topics" ad targeting system....
I cant remember the names but my S21 5G got a bootloop when I disabled all that crapb (google's way to force you to keep them) so I had to return to android 12 to disable the ones there and not get a bootloop. Just return to androod 12 as I did and disable the samsung update apps to avoid being forced to update to 13
Well...I can't believe I actually figured out my battery drain issue and it is stupid.
I noted that I was draining up to 3% or more an hour while sleeping. For 6 weeks I have been trying to figure this out. I suddenly realized Monday that I was seeing around 1% an hour battery drain at work during times I was not using my phone. The only thing different between work and home is that I have wifi turned off at work. Started messing around with some stuff that was wifi related and the issue turned out to be Wifi Calling. It would act crazy when I went into airplane mode then turned off airplane mode. I turned off Wifi Calling on Monday and my battery life is looking great ever since. It is still slightly more drain than android 12 but not enough to qualm over.
Don't know if it is connected to any of your issues, but worth a look. Luckily I get good enough signal at home that wifi calling is not really a concern at this time. Hopefully it will be fixed in future updates but if not I want shed a tear.

TBH...once I figured out that wifi calling was creating my serious battery drain and turned it off, my battery life is very close if not on point with Android 12. But I have leaned my samsung phone down by uninstalling a whole lot of stuff so I would think that it should be slightly better so I can see your point.

Hi XDA
I literally don't know what to do with my Samsung Galaxy SIII for a bout half a year ago i updated my phone to Android 4.3 and things went a bit weird. First thing I noticed was that the phone was really slow to wake up from standby, sometimes I had to take out the battery because nothing happen. The second thing is that it sometimes get really hot even on standby. I can't make it though half a day without charging my phone! Today it got mad at my phone again and was searching around the web for a solution, I came by lot of forums with people who was dealing with the same problem, but no fix able. I found a guy who had a an app which could register the battery usage in a graph. After running the app i noticed the same as the guy from the video - my phone is pretty normal on use, but then I turn the phone on standby it goes insane (look at the picture linked below)..
I don't know how to deal with the problem. I have gone though the applist to see any remarkable apps, but nothing has cough my attention.
I hope you guy are willing to help me - Save my phone!

Wrong phone forum!!!
Here is your phone forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3
Hi, did you solved your problem?
If not, i'd recommend System Panel app. Download it, install, launch. Then go to Menu->Settings, check Enable monitoring option. Then let your phone to be in idle mode several hours - maybe before going to bed. After it - go to SP->Menu->Monitoring->History (in bottom right corner)->Press chart in top left corner->Top apps. Then you'll see top applications that worked in idle mode.
For more information go to 4pda russian forum and search "Советы по улучшению энергосбережения устройств на Android OS" thread - google translate will helps
Try This,,,,,,
I think some app is malfunctioning , i would suggest using Greenify if u r rooted ,
And if u r on Stock ROM then i would suggest u to delete or disable the BLOATWARE.
It helped me hope this was helpful
4.3 on the S3 is extremely buggy especially without Samsung's patch ( which didn't do much ). There isn't much that you can do on stock Touchwiz, except maybe flash a custom kernel. I would suggest flashing a custom rom, but that is up to you. There are many choices for custom roms here including Touchwiz, if you like it.
I've been experiencing disappointing battery life since the android 4.3 update last month on my non-LTE t-mo galaxy s3. I know there's been a lot of discussion and advice by t-mo reps on various forums, but it simply isn't accurate. The party line is "something you installed on your phone is causing increased battery drain after the 4.3 update." However, my partner and I have two identical T-mo galaxy S3's. We have entirely different sets of apps installed on our phones. As soon as we installed the 4.3 update, both of our phones started to drain rapidly faster than before the update. On 4.2 our phones would last to 50% by the end of the day (~8pm) with light to moderate use. Now they're at ~20% by the end of the day, and I can see my battery levels drop faster just while using the phone. This is totally unacceptable. I've downloaded battery monitoring apps, and no apps I've installed are draining the battery, it's the system and kernel that take up most of the cpu. People are saying it's the touchwiz additions that are causing the system to use up more cpu cycles. I refuse to do a factory reset because there's so many reports of this not doing anything. There's clearly a bug in the 4.3 update for the SG3, unless it's touchwiz as everyone seems to indicate. How can I check to see if something is causing too many wakes?
4.3 works prefect here. same battery life as with 4.0 or 4.1.
it's not the fault of 4.3.

Hello everyone,
My s6 Edge does not go to sleep. It drains huge amount of battery while idle.
I need urgent help. I have disabled all AT&T bloatware. But it still does not work.
I have also tried hard resetting it, it does not work. Battery continues to drain.
Thank You.
Is this something new or has it always been like this? Btw, which version of LP are you on? 5.0.2 or 5.1.1?
Its new, LP v. 5.0.2

5.0.2 seems to be notorious for battery drains...check if your device has the 5.1.1 update which seems to be better in terms of RAM management. Also, are you data or wifi...if on data, then LP is again notorious for a world famous "mobile radio active" bug...it's all over the web...So, the best solution would be to either put the phone in deep freezer until Google fixes the huge bugs in LP or sell your phone...just kidding...
After updating your device (if there's any), do a factory reset...it should solve your problems...hopefully
Does not go to sleep? Check your settings about screen timeout..The battery drain can be fixes through system update..if samsung has any update ready

I hard reseted my phone, disable all bloatwares, haven't installed any apps, haven't signed in to anything (even google, only signed into samsung account). charged to 100%. Left the phone for 4-5 hrs, battery drained to 81%.

I was going to say just make sure you dont have too many apps running and you can also download a battery saving app on the play store for free which can help. It sounds like theres something you have running draining your battery though. Keep in mind however that the galaxy s6 edge when charged to 100 percent can hold a charge for quite awhile, but if your only charging it too around 40 or 50 percent it will die rather quickly.

What does it tell you in the battery stats? That's the first place to look. Is Screen at the top or something else like Google Services or a fitness tracking app? Send a screenshot of that as a starter for 10.

Your best bet is to install TWRP, root, and flash "No deep sleep fix", thats if you dont care about tripping knox of course.
Seems like an aggressive suggestion since we don't know the root cause yet. It might not be a wake lock issue; it could be location tracking or updates getting stuck. I'd rather see the battery stats first.
Screen is not even on the list, i haven't used my device for more than 15-20 mins (used chrome & inbox for 15-20 mins in the morning)

Google Services like I thought. There's a number of things that can cause this as it's quite a fundamental service. The most simple fixes are:
- Make sure there's no pending updates in the Play store. These can work havoc with the battery when waiting for manual approval
- If this doesn't work, remove your google account, reboot and re-add it. For some reason this can fix the sync issues that cause drain
- Still no dice? The next one is to backup, factory format then restore your backup. It's a bit extreme but sometimes when you update your software it causes a glitch that only goes away with a factory format
Each time you try a fix, let the battery fully charge then check the stats a couple of hours later.
Thanks for the suggestion, I will let u know the results soon.

You're welcome. If it's any conciliation I had exactly the same issue and fixed it this morning with those steps.
Google services is one of the biggest battery user but it still doesn't explain his erratic battery loss. I never turn off any features and get decent life.

Tried the third step many times before, didn't work.
So, yesterday I tried the 1st & 2nd step, worked like a charm, I was happy but today, the same results (battery was draning like i was playing games). So I completely removed my google account and left my phone for a few hours. Here is the result (see attached). As you can see no Stupid Google Play Services in the list but what is eating my battery ????

Again, LP has a world famous bug called the "Mobile Radio Active" bug. What this means that if an app uses the data services for some odd reason LP keeps the mobile radio open even if the app does not need it any more...So, for all you know ur issue is Android related and not your device specific. Oh btw, the upcoming M also has this confounded bug...so I believe we will be plagued by this bug for the foreseeable future...And I dumped my iPhone for this buggy Android...Dang!
How is your reception, If most of the time your phone struggle to get reception, it may be part of the problem, just my 2 cents, not an expert, but myself trying to get rid of the google service battery bug...
Better battery stats would give detailed information as to the cause, yet it requires root on all lollipop devices. Helped me find the exact cause of my phone never sleeping
Hi guys,
Is it my imagination, or does the new Emui 10 update drain the battery quicker?
It's possible that I've been using my phone more since the update, so I can't say for sure.
Cannot confirm that.
I'm getting 5h30 sot. I used to get around 6h. No complaints though.
t I've noticed that BT is drain the battery more now with Emui 10.
Do you have no apps running and good signal? I haven't really thought about sot so I'm not sure what my average is but my last battery run was just over 2 hrs!?
Also while I'm here (sorry off topic) has anyone had any issues with chrome? It just freezes and sometimes won't open a link from the feed until I go home and reopen. I've factory reset since the update but still happening..

I confirm the chrome bug. I had the same issue with those apps that jump to webpage while still running (instagram store and ads, touching in a link in youtube etc). It happens a lot in private mode too.
As for the battery I never really had any problems with it.
The battery will drain faster by itself over time, regardless of updates.
I used to have the classic Mobile Network standby battery drain issue, until I flashed CalyxOS.
I left my phone with 100% battery before I went to bed last night and woke up this morning 8 hours later with no drain of any kind at all.
Might be an option for anyone else with the same issue.
Interesting. So that confirms it's a software issue and not hardware. Which is a relief. It means Google can fix it via OTA update. Hopefully enough people reported it that Google took notice. i am on chat with google now and they want me to factory reset. I was hoping to avoid that
wait just a question. you said 8 hours.those stats don't update for 24 hours. So you got 16 more hours to go till you know if the issue is fixed. that is why there are no stats at all on your screenshot. It just says battery data isn't available right now
Edit: ok I was wrong about that because I factory reset my phone (on the advise of Google support) and it's been 7 hours and I can see stats. But yes not losing anything In 8 hours is suspicious. I mean it could happen I guess my pixel 4xl got fantastic battery life and apparently mine was the only 4xl that got good battery life because everyone else hated the 4xl because of battery life. Anyway with my 4xl I would lose 1 or 2 percent overnight same with my 1,2,3a and 5. It's only the 6 that this is happening too. I just hope that it can be fixed with an software update.
8 hours with no drain is suspicious if you are not in Airplane mode. The clock, the weather app, email client, a bunch of things at least asks back for update preiodically, so it seems odd.

He's pushing this OS all over the place, not sure why. Most people do not want to bl unlock, wipe their devices and gamble with a new OS that probably doesn't work with Google Pay. And I agree 8 hours with no drain? Not likely although I did have 0.4% / hour one night. Usual is around 0.8 - 1.0 / hour.

Calyx doesn't do anything really in the background. It's de-Googled and has background processes limited or killed altogether. It is certainly possible to get this low idle drain considering OP is on wifi with what looks to be a very strong mobile network signal so the inefficient Exynos modem isn't draining it.
The downside of course is that a bunch of stuff doesn't work right on Calyx because there are no Play Services. You can't even access the stuff you bought IAP for...
I see. I don't say that it is bad. limiting or killing processes in deep sleep would hurt the notifications too, right? It is an interesting OS, but I would join to the others. I need my apps in a convenient way. I did modding in the past but now I appreciate phones that just work when I take them out from the box.

You might have "solved" one problem but introduced countless others. If you're really that excited then give all the info not just overnight battery drain and be a little more forthcoming about the rom. I mean in reality if I turn off all network activity and put it into airplane mode I'd get the same results and probably even better. And then there's your thread of ...Why isn't everyone running CalyxOS? Maybe one thread would have been enough instead of cross posting the Pro and the P6. Anyway, I do believe you have gotten enough feedback so people know the pitfalls of the rom and the supposed benefits of longer battery life.

I turned nothing off. If I had I would have said so. What's the point in posting my findings then? I would be useless wouldn't it? I don't have time to play games and lead people around the bush. I'm not 12 years old anymore.
So just to satisfy your curiosity, I use my phone in exactly the same way I have always used it. Bluetooth off, Wifi and mobile data on, location on when I need it but off at the moment. All my apps work just the same as before including my banking app. The only thing I don't use now is Google Pay, and two of my apps with in app purchases are not registered. Apart from that it is exactly how it was before.

Mobile network standby of 2 minutes with 5 hours off the charger suggests airplane mode was in use.
I don't care how much stuff you turn off in the background, there is no way you're getting a 2% loss from 5 hours of usage unless you used the phone for less than 30 minutes in those 5 hours.

Suspicious, yes, but then again... I used to be able to run my old Moto G3 for two weeks on a single charge with just a bare-bones LOS, no gapps and nothing else in the background, so it doesn't seem THAT unreasonable.

Not sure. The latest from the Play Store and whatever version is on Calyx website.
So here is the XDA article about the feature drop
June Feature Drop for Google Pixels includes At a Glance improvements, Pocket Operator, and more
The June feature drop for Google Pixel devices is now available, and you can install it on your smartphone. It has a ton of new features.
www.xda-developers.com
And it really does look kind of..... underwhelming? like nothing there is very useful or important at large.
But the update actually brought nice stuff.
Check this article for the main take on the feature drop
June Feature Drop appears to cure most of what ailed Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro units
Most Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro users have seen a big improvement in their handsets' cellular connectivity after installing the June Feature Drop.

I myself have noticed improvements in the time to fingerprint unlock, network seems to be faster and more stable in comparison to March, and my network battery usage went down from being around 30% to around 5%!
So all in all I'm happy with this update even though it didn't seem meaningful at the beginning. It makes this phone more fine tuned and worth.
Have you-all noticed any improvements?
Are you feeling it's better then before?
Yes much better. One day in only but noticeable for sure.
The OTA update isn't showing up yet for me.

I used the android flash tool it factory reset my phone but that's not big deal for me I restored my backup from Google one.
I have noticed the fingerprint sensor is working better my phone seems to not get as good reception but the network is also not using 30% anymore it more like 10 or 15 which is still high but where I'm at now doesn't really have great reception to begin with

Yeah, that's what I'm referring to. I'm manually checking for the update, and it's not showing up. I'll try restarting.

I usually wait for the update notification upon checking updates available. This time it didn't seem it was forthcoming anytime soon since my wife's P5 didn't get it either. So I sideloaded it yesterday. It took all of 7 - 10 min from recovery to reboot. Not sure what the delay is but I just didn't feel like waiting for them to do whatever the eff they need to do to release it.

i got my phone yesterday ....love it
I've definitely noticed an improvement in the fingerprint reader. I haven't noticed any different in network - but more so because I am usually on WiFi and generally don't have network issues when I am not.

Yeah, I ended up sideloading it. No issues, and everything feels a little snappier
I sideloaded it Monday afternoon. Wasn't having any issues before and am not having any issues after.
It's a little early to tell, but I think battery life has improved. I ended the day both Monday and Tuesday with a battery that was about 10%-15% higher than usual.
Being able to use music player like neutron working again is brilliant I had the update on Monday about 11pm I'm in uk
i installed June update 2 days ago. not sure if it is the update or battery guru which was installed at the same time, but now my phone ACTUALLY goes into deep sleep (as reported by battery guru)!!
Its always in deep sleep now for around 15/16hrs between charges and battery drain is down to as little as 1% per hr when screen off. Before I could lose around 20/30% from around 10pm (last phone use) until 6.30am when i pick my phone up the following morning.
One thing i am having issue with SINCE the June update is pixel launcher. Im getting errors saying it has stopped working. I Use Lawnchair anyway, but thats not the point. Just before I get the error about pixel launcher, the phone goes really slow.
A restart of the phone hasn't solved the issues and i have also cleared data/cache from the launcher to no avail.
I NEED TO CONNECT MULTIPLE BLUETOOTH DEVICES AT ONCE!
one weird error I have since updating. If I pull down the notification tab as soon as i click a notification, instead of opening it it will lock the screen
Noticed much improved battery life as well. A 2% drop in active usage and much better standby battery drain. Took my phone out of the charger at 1pm yesterday and I'm at 48% as of writing this message the net day at 6:35pm. Moderate active usage between then and now.
EDIT:
Forgot to mention that my phone doesn't seem to randomly overheat anymore while casually browsing the web.
EDIT 2:
Phone finally shut down today at 4pm, with around 50hours of total battery life and 6ish hours of screen time. This is probably the single biggest overall battery life improvement I've ever experienced just from installing an update alone on any phone I've owned.
NVM, I found the setting.
Definitely not better here battery or network wise after the June patch.
