I am just wondering if anyone has booted leinage os on there device? And is it as good on running leinage os on a officially supported device?
i used crdroid to root mine which may or may not be based on lineage, im pretty sure most GSI's are, atleast the prerooted ones anyways, i guess some could be simply AOSP but then its not exactly vanilla(which AOSP roms seem to be) if its prerooted

I have the retail unlocked version, bootloader is unlocked - did it yesterday. Can you point me to where to get this particular Lineage GSI? I still have to research how to actually do it but I want to download all the necessary files.
So I was able to use DSU Sideloading to boot into lineageOS, and I took backups of the devices, is there a guide to flash the image permanently?

Hello, I just wanted to post this as an answer to many questions regarding not being able to use DSU to install a GSI for testing or gaining root. The DSU install in developer options is NOT what we are using for installing GSI's temporarily for...

Is this the only GSI that works: LineageOS 19.1 by Andy Yan?
The info I'm looking up seems to be spread through different threads and I don't know how up to date it is.

Well, I tried running GSI ROMS: lineageOS 19.1, and CRdroid with DSU No luck at all. It just extracts the .xz file, converts it to .gz and then I give the ADB command (because I'm not rooted) which prompts me to verify with my PIN on my N20, and it fails every time. My bootloader is unlocked, USB debugging is enabled but doesn't even try to install, just get a failure notification immediately. I'm using the latest VegaBobo DSU sideloader (V2.1) APK. What am I missing here? My N20 is retail unlocked version, running the latest Android 12.

I tried Andy Yans "Lineage-19.1-20221122-UNOFFICIAL-arm64_bgN-vndklite-secure.img.xz" with DSU side loader V1.2 APK. DSU isn't crashing looking good so far. Will let you know how it goes.
Nope. DSU didn't crash, but when it finished it said to reboot to start using. I did and it just booted back into the stock ROM. I'm probably missing something stupid.
UPDATE: I used "lineage-19.1-20221122-UNOFFICIAL-arm64_bvS.img.xz" and I got it working.

If you just reflash the stock system image that would erase any trace of root. You wouldn't lose any data. You'll only be able to flash the root zip/kernel if you've already unlocked your bootloader. If you've not done that you'll have to do it first and the process of unlocking will wipe the device.

I'd download the factory image and update to the latest build. you can edit the "flash-all.bat" so that it doesn't wipe your phone. Change the command
"fastboot -w update" to
"fastboot update"
to preserve your data.

Just boot loops for me , even with Chainfire's boot.img. Is it necessary to do the steps one right after another?
Neat! Glad it is all happening quickly. I think I want to keep encryption, so I will probably wait to root and install TWRP until wiping data to remove encryption is no longer necessary.
Can someone please confirm if the damn fingerprint sensor still works after rooting?

I unlocked bootloader, flashed TWRP, AndroPlusKernel and SuperSU.
From the CM13 thread:
- Unlock your bootloader (you can save your TA partition before)
- Update your firmware to the last Marshmallow version (needed to update the bootloader, kernel will not boot if you use the Lollipop bootloader)
- Install AndroPlus kernel and TWRP
- Make a backup
- Push the rom’s zip to the SD card (optionnaly with gapps)
- Wipe System, Data, Cache, Dalvik cache
- Install the rom (and gapps if you want)
- Reboot

I guess this is one of the more challenging devices to tinker with due to the small developer and user base.
But once things are up and running it's one fantastic device, still. You're good to go with that firmware. Make sure you have AndroPlus's latest TWRP (TWRP-3.0.2-0-20160604.img) and you'll be good to go.

Hi all...
Since this phone is launching with Oreo, it should be treble supported..! Just needed some confirmation if the bootloader of this device is unlockable and if we can flash any GSI of LineageOS 15.1 or ResurrectionRemix ROM and see if it works and what are the bugs..!
So if anyone could manage to do that and if flashing and booting the GSI succeeded, please start a new thread explaining the process with links..!
Hope it boots GSI..! :fingers-crossed:

Oppo f7 (and I presume the realme 1) has had it's fastboot binaries deleted.
This makes it highly difficult to port twrp or cwm

Hi, I just have a few questions
1. You used the EU Rom from this thread right? And if so are you receiving OTA updates? According to a different thread on this topic, people are having to use the IN Rom in order to still receive OTA Updates.
2. Are apps like Google Pay working, and other functions of the phone like NFC and 5G working?
1. I used the EU ROM, which is .a09 I was on the ui3 Chinese ROM.
After flashing the ROM I have done an ota update and am now on a.17
2. I'm not sure about Google play as I've rooted the phone and this version of magisk doesn't have hide, so doesn't work
Everything else that wasn't working on Chinese ROM ui3 is working.
Vowifi, volte, NFC, Android auto 5g(no switching problem) all now work
I was considering getting a new phone before this, as so many features were annoying me or missing on the Chinese ROM.

Hopefully, my final question,
I can't seem to find a way to unlock my bootloader on ui3, may I ask how you unlocked your bootloader?
The only solution I can find at the moment is to downgrade to android 11 ui2 CN Rom .A24 and then unlock the bootloader through that way since the deep testing app for unlocking the bootloader will not install on ui3 for me.
Thanks in advance!
(ps. I don't have the app already installed, I have checked 5 times already.)
You might need to downgrade back to UI 2 as I unlocked my bootloader using deep test before updating to UI3. (Yeah I looked at that after I had gone to UI3 and it said it was already installed, but couldn't find it or search for it either)

Well, something has gone wrong. when rebooting it only seems to go to the realme UI recovery I didn't want root so I could use Google Pay. I am not sure what do do now.
