[MAGISK] [ANDROID 12] Lawnchair 12 for Android 12/12L - Galaxy S6 Android Development

Just a simple Magisk Module to replace the Boring Trebuchet Launcher with Lawnchair 12. Based on Launcher3 from Android 12.1, Lawnchair 12 provides a Pixel Launcher like Experience with the added bonus of Customization! We're also using Lawnicon's by Teamfiles to have more Themed Icons. Just flash the module and enjoy!
The launcher is still in an alpha stage so you might experience some bugs or crashes. I'll try to keep the post updated with each release of Lawnicons & Lawnchair. Massive thanks to @deletescape & @paphonb for this amazing launcher!

I'm having a lot of lag in Lawnchair Settings!
This issue seems to be occurring on a lot of devices having low RAM. From what I can tell, Lawnchair seems to be having some memory leak issues atm which causes it to be really laggy. However, This problem can be "somewhat" fixed by using apps like SWAPPER for ROOT etc. I'm personally having a config of 1026MB & 90% SWAP priority. I've provided the APK below

Thanks. We are very happy with the way the fascinate community supported the ROM. Download for Fascinate tops the chart. When we update the ROM to 4.2 in coming weeks fascinate will be first image we will build.
One thing that puzzled us is nobody has said anything about the ROM. We are yet to receive the first feedback on whether the ROM actually boots or not :silly:

It boots and everything seems to work fine I didn't test very long though because I find the themes to be slim pickings and none too my taste plus DT put out an awesome 4.2 build. Maybe I just couldn't figure out how to access more themes.

Thanks for your feedback. You can go to Theme Chooser app and select the online tab to see more themes. This week we have two new themes related to christmas. Also what kind of themes would like to see.

I would love to test for ya but I'm mobile only with a 5GB cap, thanks USCC. Looks like a very great ROM. I love the MIUI aesthetics of it.

We sure have minimalistic themes, colourful themes and many more in progress. Since it is a holiday season things are little slow. We uploaded two themes created us related to christmas season this week. It took a lot of our time as the graphics, icons everything has to be done by us. As we enter the new year we will be porting the MiUi themes which is lot easier and you will see new themes everyday.

Thanks. Did you enable entropy speed tweak ? We had varying result with different devices and wanted to know how it works with Fascinate.
It can be enabled from Settings->Performance->Urandom.

OK...after flashing...I get a black screen phone won't boot... kernel issue...so what I did was to reboot into recovery, flash kernel cleaner, then flash siyah 4.33...that worked...
So the kernel included with this ROM needs to be fixed. Other than that so far its nice ROM..

Are you taking the pictures in portrait mode or landscape? If you take it in portrait (with the phone upright) it will automatically rotate it.

This ROM looks great but I can't get it to install, I've tried two different kernals and I always get an install aborted. Any idea what I need to change?

Yes that's exactly what's going on, OK must be normal for the ROM. Not a fan of it but I like this ROM so much, others can rotate when they receive it.

After some more testing, looks like a screenshot sent via text/mms sends in portrait mode, but as mentioned above camera photos are sent flipped on their side.
On a sidenote... BT connects almost instantly in my car! Pandora and Music both connect and operate without issues at all! Same goes for BT and wifi tethering which seem to be problematic in some other ROMs.

All custom ROMs set the pic in landscape when the camera is snapped in portrait. Just something we sacrifice to have amazing ROMs like this one! just use camera in landscape mode. :silly:

As CM10.1 has hit the general release, Avatar Team is branching with stable and nightly releases.
Stable releases are marked as 3.0. This is the first stable release from Avatar Team. Stable releases will be weekly or bi-weekly and will be tested extensively by our testing team.
Nightly releases will kickstart in a few days. We will merge CM changes every day and it will also contain experiemental features from Avatar.
We highly recommend to wipe cache/data/dalvik before flashing the stable releases.

idk if this is a user error or what but every time i reboot phone it keeps giving me a ini error?? doesnt seem to effect performance, but just letting you know

First impressions is it is FAST. Have to re backup my previous rom because App Extractor is not pulling my apks for some reason.
When I get everything situated I will give a little pro/cons.

Seems pretty snappy. I like the notification area. Lot like the 4.2 notifications. Running this with stock kernel. Not bad. If I could mash this with aokp settings that would be great hmmm. Understandable that the goal of this ROM is to be minimal with few bugs. Nice work!
Update..notice hw overlays are fixed. I watch a lot of videos. Haven't had any reboots yet. Clean install. Good.

ROM has all deep sleep tweaks so low battery drain in standby mode I didn't had time to test the battery usage and calibrate the battery once after flashing the ROM and connectivity is good bro no issues with it.

This is one of the best roms i have ever used but i face a lot of lags here and there(even with dynamic status bar off).Please fix it so that we can have the best rom ever.

Performance is good like new UI .A very good rom but some lags and gesture is not working and some apps taking time too much to open .

lag is there when using google now launcher.no problems with nova and others cause there is no google now running aside in others u can use seeder app to reduce lag and gestures in dailer are not working as expected may be fixed in v2.0

DSB causes lag in statusbar which is seen very less in our device with any rom and try to use greenify app if possible to minimize ram usage it will be smooth

I hope you can fix the bugs soon the ROM works great btw

long press menu key will show recent apps and long press your home key will show google now

If anyone is facing any issues with installing a substratum theme for Pixel Launcher, it will be because of the fact that the ROM comes preloaded with Android O Pixel launcher.
For instance, as of posting this thread, if you try to install Swift Black theme v6.3 for Pixel launcher, you'll get an error because the theme doesn't support the Android O Pixel launcher. The theme has to be updated from the developer's side. Some themes like BlackStock theme works as they support the Android O Pixel launcher.
If anyone is wondering how to get their non supported theme for Pixel launcher O, here's how :
1. (Optional) Take a backup of the current Pixel Launcher (that is the Android O version).
2. Uninstall Pixel launcher, you can use Titanium Backup or NoBloat Free for that. (I always just copy the Pixel launcher folder into my sd card or something from /system/app).
3. Reboot the device.
4. Install Pixel launcher from play store.
5. Use substratum and theme it. If you want the swipe right for Google now, don't install the theme, and proceed to step 6.
6. Convert the downloaded Pixel launcher (from step 4) into a system app. The easiest way to do this is by using Link2SD. Go into user apps, tap and hold on Pixel launcher, tap on "convert to system app", tap "ok", reboot. Now install substratum theme that you would like and it'll work (plus you have the swipe right feature).
That's it, now you can use substratum themes for your Pixel launcher. Enjoy!

There 2 ways you can make it work.
1) change selinux to permissive by enabling the local terminal from developer options and write this.
su
setenforce 0
OR
2) go to viper settings and enable developer mode and disable selinux.

Just a question, is this ROM Rootless (i.e, doesn't come rooted out of the box), or Rooted.
Mainly just cause I use Magisk and not just for root, but tweaks as well.
