i have an asus rog g strix g713gt. i recently upgraded the secondary sshd (firecuda 1tb) to a ssd (wd blue 1tb). The ssd works flawlessly when i connect it externally via usb but the moment i connect it internally it restarts 1-3times an hour randomly freezing everything that was accessing data from it.. The event viewer logs the following warning/error everytime this incident happens "event 129 storahci Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort0, was issued."
Laptop Model : ASUS ROG G STRIX G713GT
Processor : Intel i7 9th gen
Ram : 16gb
OS : Windows 11
There are no pending updates for drivers or windows. Already had the power plan set to performance with all power savings off and all settings set to max performance.. Edited the registry to add the drive to lpm state list. Also edited the registry to turn on ahci power management option in power settings and set it to active.. The driver shown is standard ahci driver from 2006 in device manager.. Please help
Have you tried running a Surface Scan using HD Sentinel?
Maybe the SSD isn't working well with Windows 11 due to it's firmware is out of date.

FYI:
The Bonjour Service application what in your case produces errors en masse is not a part of Windows’ installation but a certain application ( like Safari or iTunes ) might install it as a component on Windows 11. This means that when you install the application, it will automatically install Bonjour Services onto your Windows 11 computer.
This means that disabling Bonjour Service on Windows 11 might stop the application working. Thus, if you want to continue to use the application on Windows 11, you should not remove the service; if you don’t need it anymore, you can disable the service and no trouble will bother you.

Enabling Developer Mode (Rooting)
In general, simply installing the Palm SDK gives you everything you need for full access to the Linux operating system on any webOS device. There is no special "rooting" or "jailbreaking" process. Simply installing the SDK provides you with unlimited access to the Linux operating system.
Download & install the Palm SDK for Linux, OS X or Windows.
Enable developer mode on the HP Touchpad:
Launch Device Info and tap its top-left menu.
Select "Custom Application..." and type in: ##3386633#
In the application, move the Developer Mode slider to the On position.
Tap Reset the Device.
When reset is complete, Developer mode is enabled.
Plug the device into the computer via the USB cable, and just close out the USB storage mode thing.
The next step varies:
Mac OS X / Linux: Type novaterm into terminal to directly access the Linux command line for the HP Touchpad.
Windows: you will need to download and install a novaterm program.
On Windows 32-bit, download novacom-win-32.tgz and install novacom with NovacomInstaller_x86.msi.
On Windows 64-bit, download novacom-win-64.tgz and install novacom with NovacomInstaller_x64.msi.
Then, just like the Mac and Linux users you can just type novaterm.
At this point you will have a window with a prompt that says [email protected]: or something similar.
You are now logged in as root on your webOS device and can do anything you would normally do on a Linux device.

[Q] What is wrong with my touchpad?
RESET: Hold Power Button & Home Button until the tablet resets.
Doing the above solved the below issue.
My touchpad won't turn on I used it until it had about 30 % battery last night, but didn't put it to charge. When I woke up this morning, it was at 28% battery. I used it to check facebook and xda, locked it and put it down to watch the price is right but when I went to use it again, none of the buttons unlocked it. I plugged it into mulitple outlets and held the power button for about 30 seconds each time, but nothing is happening I don't know what to do. Can anybody help?

Updated (Sep 7th 2011):
Rewritten to include a method for stock kernel, make shares usable for KalemSoft Media Player & automount at (re)boot. Thx to everybody who contributed to this thread! (Under construction, finished later)
Updated (Aug 9th 2011): processed some comments from this thread and the fact that uberkernel now also supports CIFS (& NFS).
Prerequisites:
- HP Touchpad, webOS 3.0.2 or later.
- One of the following Kernels:
---- Stock kernel
---- Uberkernel 3.0.2-52 or later (Next to support for CIFS & NFS this kernel also supports UTF-8. More info here: WebOS Internals Uber-Kernel
---- F15C,.. (completed later)
- Terminal access to your TP, either via webOS Quick Install or Xecutah + Xserver + Xterm (install from preware)
- Internalz Pro with show hidden files set to yes
Three parts:
This guide has three parts:
Basic Mounting
Mounting with shares visible in apps like Kalemsoft Media Player
"Sticky" mounting: Auto mount at (re)boot
Definitions:
hostIP = IP address of the computer or NAS you want to connect to. You can use hostnames too, but need to also edit /etc/hosts then.
sharename = The share name you want to connect to as configured on your computer/NAS
mountpoint-path = as discussed above, e.g. /mnt/nas
cifs = type of filesystem to mount (cifs is better version of smbfs, I've been told)
auto (or can also be noauto) auto/noauto determines if the share is mounted automatically at startup.
username & password = share login credentials. There are probably safer ways to do this instead of having this plain text on your device, anyone can tell me how to do that?
rw = access mode, in this case read & write, other possibilities exist too
The numbers have someting to do with filesystem check at boot.
1a: Basic Mounting (without fstab)
- Create a mountpoint, a path where the share will be accessible, e.g. /mnt/nas or /mnt/media/internal/nas I used Internalz Pro in master mode for this.
- In a terminal type:
mount.cifs //<hostIP>/<sharename> <mountpoint-path> -o username=<username>,password=<password>
Example: mount.cifs //10.0.1.26/DataVolume /mnt/Shared -o username=foo,password=bar
1b: Basic Mounting (with fstab, not supported by stock kernel)
To be finished later
2: Mounting with shares visible in apps like Kalemsoft Media Player
To be finished later
For now please refer to:
Road to Success - How to allow NAS to show up under /media/internal on Touchpad Apps?
How To: Connect TP to network shares
How To: Connect TP to network shares
3: "Sticky" mounting: Auto mount at (re)boot
To be finished later
For now please refer to:
Road to Success - Mounting SAMBA/CIFS Permanently on Touchpad
-------------------------------
Original post:
In short: The stock kernel on a webOS 3.0.2 Touchpad does not support CIFS. Or at least I didn't get it to work just the same way I do get it to work out of the box on a 1.4.5 Pre-.
Then I saw this thread: F15B & F15C test kernels
It says CIFS support! So I hesitantly installed this experimental F15C kernel, quickly ran Govnah to set max speed to 1.5 GHz (I don't want no real overclocking beyond this speed). But, YES, it does work, I now can access my NAS!
After I initially posted this thread webosinternals also added support for CIFS (& NFS) to the uberkernel (as of version 3.0.2-36). Thanks a lot for that guys!!
So how to go about:
- Install the F15C kernel from the testing kernel feed
The rest is standard linux stuff for mounting Samba shares:
- Create a mountpoint, a path where the share will be accessible, e.g. /mnt/nas or /mnt/media/internal/nas I used Internalz Pro in master mode for this.
- Open /etc/fstab again you can use Internalz Pro in master mode for this
Add a line:
//<hostIP>/<sharename> <mountpoint-path> cifs auto,username=<username>,password=<password>,rw 0 0
hostIP = IP address of the computer or NAS you want to connect to.
- Save the file
- Open a terminal
- type in this command:
mount -t cifs //<hostIP>/<sharename> <mountpoint-path> -o username=<username>,password=<password>
No idea whether all the -o options are still needed, as they are in the fstab line already as well.
Apparently mount -a should also mount your shares inside fstab. But for me that didn't work, maybe because I have it set to noauto.
This should do it.
Unmounting as follows:
umount <mountpoint-path> e.g. umount /mnt/nas
Note: as soon as you have a kernel running that supports CIFS, you can also use the xt tools. See this thread and the threads referenced inside it. samba filesharing - install/support thread
The xt tools will take over all the fstab editing and directory creation.
I agree this is still cumbersome. On an Android phone for example this is buildin in every decent filemanager. So I really, really hope that either or both Gemini and Internals HD will have some easy solution for this (both configuring and the actual mounting/unmounting). Or a solution straight from HP, this is also aimed at enterprise market after all!

Weird shortcut to USB mode
Has anybody else seen this?
While connected to PC in "just charging" mode I reached out and accidentally hit the Volume Down and Power buttons at the same time. The TouchPad instantly switched to USB Storage mode.
Interesting behavior and I couldn't seem to find any mention of it anywhere.
PreCentral had it as a tip on their web site about a week ago and I spotted it there - http://www.precentral.net/access-usb-mode-touchpad.
Quite a few other useful titbits crop up on there - it is worth following. I use the webOS News app from the App Catalog. That gives heads-up on the free software codes as well.

LOL, I think you mean "TIDBITS."
Too bad there is no reverse version of this.
Advantages of a "real" installation:
- the amount of storage is only limited by the size of your harddisk
- installation files and methods work for both harddisk and virtual machines (VirtualBox or VMWare)
If you prefer an installation without additional tools like Ubuntu or Unetbootin, have a look at "Installing Remix OS to Hard Drive or Virtual Machine without additional tools" (image based documentation).
Thread "Remix OS on Hard Drive or Virtual Machine - Installation and (OTA) Update" is a new and more comprehensive version of this thread including update of existing installations on hard disk or virtual machine. The current versions are 2.0.403 (2016-07-12) "Lillipop" which you can get from Fosshub and 3.0.102 "Marshmallow" which can be downloaded directly from Jide.
Otherwise if you are familiar with Ubuntu and Linux tools the following documentation is still interesting, because it allows you creating of modified boot media, different methods of disk formatting, and setting up virtual machines based on a prepared vmdk file.
Step 1: Create an iso file allowing real installation of the Android system into an ext4 partition
- you have to mount the original Remix OS iso file to your file system (read only):
create an empty directory "remix", open a terminal and execute:
sudo mount -o loop Remix_OS_for_PC_64_B2016030106.iso ~/remix/
or - in case of 32-bit version -: sudo mount -o loop "Remix OS for PC Beta 32-bit.iso" ~/remix/
- create a new copy of all contents of directory remix within a new directory named remixos
- open file isolinux.cfg with superuser rights (in directory isolinux) and replace section "label guestmode" with
label installmode
menu label ^Install Remix OS to hard drive
kernel /kernel
append initrd=/initrd.img root=/dev/ram0 androidboot.hardware=remix_x86_64 androidboot.selinux=permissive quiet INSTALL=1 DEBUG=
(in case of the 32-bit version the 3rd line contains . . . androidboot.hardware=remix_x86 . . . )
- create a new iso file (named remix.iso) using command
genisoimage -r -V "Remix OS 2.0" -cache-inodes -J -l -b isolinux/isolinux.bin -c isolinux/boot.cat -no-emul-boot -boot-load-size 4 -boot-info-table -o remix.iso ~/remixos/
- use UNetbootin based on new file remix.iso for creating a modified USB device (which will allow real installation to harddisk)
Step 2: Formatting the disk (ext4 and swap partition)
- Harddisk: Use gparted for creation of an ext4 and a swap partition on a new (empty) disk
- VirtualBox:
Create a new virtual machine called "Remix OS": Linux Ubuntu (64-bit or 32-bit), 20GB disk dynamic, bridged network
Start an Ubuntu installation creating an ext4 and a swap partition. Stop installation (by shutting down VirtualBox) after it has asked for the correct time zone.
Step 3: Installation of Remix OS
- Harddisk: Connect the USB device to your computer
- VirtualBox: Connect the remix.iso with VirtualBox IDE controller and restart the virtual machine.
Choose "Install Remix OS to hard drive"
Choose partition sda1 (ext4)
Do not format the disk
Create grub boot loader
Install system directory as read/write
In the next step the installation will be executed creating the linux system directory
Step 4: Setup Remix OS
Run Android-x86 - this will perform the creation of the Android data directory
If you prefer to use a prepared vmdk file your can go on at
- VMWare: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65013881&postcount=8
- VirtualBox: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65013915&postcount=9
Otherwise: After a few minutes you'll see "Select your language". Select your keyboard layout (e.g. German) first, then select your language.
After clicking "Next" (harddisk: entering your wi-fi data) and "Start" Remix OS will run.
Step 5 (Remix OS beta): Enable Google Play Services - see post http://forum.xda-developers.com/remix/remix-os/google-play-services-actually-remix-t3327735 - Thank you, You_KS
In version 2.0.403 you have to switch on "Enable debug terminal console" (Settings > Experimental features) in advance.
Enter the root terminal (Alt+F1) and type
pm disable com.jide.apppolicy
pm enable com.android.vending
pm enable com.google.android.gms
pm enable com.google.android.gsf
pm enable com.google.android.gsf.login
Leave the root terminal (Alt+F7)
Reboot
Step 6: Open Google Play Store
You will be asked for your Google account and password, you'll have to accept "terms of service", "privacy policy" and "billing information".
Step 7: Rooting Remix OS (installed within a Linux ext4 file system)
see link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65218188&postcount=44
I've just tried but running Android-x86 always seems to stop the machine. I did a few changes on the process but nothing really important (I used a web server to download the custom .iso file in my computer from the VM and used it without any USB, and I used an Ubuntu to make the partitions on the disk (about 23GB of storage, 2GB of swap))
I'm using VMWare Workstation 10.0.1 build-1379776
Maybe I just have to wait a bit more while running Android-x86? I took a snapshot before restarting the machine (Grub sure works, but as soon as I run "Install Remix OS to hard drive" it frozes again ("Detecting Android-x86... found at /dev/sda1") showing the same message: " A N D R O I D _ ")

No, I am not planning that because I do not own computers with efi boot.

Thank you, got it set up in VM Fusion on my MacBook using your vmdk and instructions.
Working fine with a couple of exceptions. Firstly, it's stuck at a small 4:3 res which only zooms when changing the size of the window?
Secondly, some apps ask for a wifi connection despite everything else working with the outside world. Prime example is the Sky+ app which downloads all the schedules and can set recordings across the net with no problem but if you try to access the Sky box on my network it says it has no wifi network found?

That only gets you guest mode which is where we were all getting stuck before remixtester sussed it.
I just need to sort the resolution as all the changes I've been making to menu.lst end up with it back in guest mode again.
I'm a complete linux noob trying my damnedest to create that installation ISO. I keep getting errors when trying to complete the commands though and generally it's telling me that the mount point doesn't exist or the directory is invalid.
I know it's my own ineptitude with Linux that's the problem but can anyone more savvy than myself create and upload this image for me? I'll be glad to host it for everyone else to download as well if anyone wants it.
Hi everyone:
I install RemixOS on hard drive following some directions found on XDA (http://forum.xda-developers.com/remix/remix-os/question-install-remix-dedicated-hdd-t3316527) to installs the system directly to hard drive without dual boot.
What i did was the following: After pressing TAB on Resident mode, i removed everything after "quiet". Then i put INSTALL=1 and then format to ext4 to use all the disk space.
The installer finalizes without errors, but when i restart and choose normal init at GRUB, the system stucks on flashing screen, then never enters to graphic env.
The things changes when i boot in debug mode. The system boot up completely but to console. I know how to use Linux, but this distro its very different to an standard one, so i need some directions to diagnose and solve the problem.
In debug mode, when i grep dmesg for error or warning nothing is found. All the devices are detected and aparently installed.
The only thing that got my attention when i installed Remix was the following messages:
- intel_powerclamp: Intel powerclamp does not run on family 6 model 15
- intel_rapl: driver does not support CPU family 6 model 15
But these msgs i suppose that are normal because is an old CPU that not support all the features that the driver does, right?
Anyway, these are the specs of the intallation:
- RemixOS version: B2016071501.
- CPU: Intel Dual Core E2160 1.68Ghz
- MB: Foxconn 45CMX
- GPU: Intel integrated on MB. I don't know the exact model
- HDD: 60Gb SATA
Any ideas to solve this problem?
Many thanks in advance.

like many, i am getting this error. i have a built PC with a Ryzen 7 2700X. I think there might be a BIOS setting to enable TPM, but I haven't checked yet. Anyone else run into this? this is the link to the Windows 11 compatibility checker...

1: Create your own installation media
2: The steps necessary to remove the "Secure Boot" and "TPM 2.0" requirements error when attempting to install Windows 11
3: Obtain the newest available Windows 10 ISO from Micro$0ft;
Already have made your Windows 11 USB Installer using Rufus;
Mount Windows 10 ISO;
Find and locate the folder named Sources on the mounted ISO;
Copy all of the files in the Sources folder of the mounted ISO except for install.wim/install.esd;
Navigate to the Windows 11 bootable USB Installer that you have previously created in your File Manager;
Open the Sources folder on the Windows 11 bootable USB Installer;
Paste the previously copied contents/files from the Sources folder on the mounted Win 10 ISO to the Sources folder of the Windows 11 bootable USB Installer, and make sure to replace the files present in the Windows 11 USB Installer Sources folder;
Boot from Windows 11 USB Installer;
Profit from not having the requirements of Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 being enabled in place.
For more deatils hereis detailed tutorial. Link.
Interesting. Has anyone actually tried this method with success?
I'll give it a try
I remember very similar pains when Windows 10 first released. I think everything will be fine for the most part as long as your machine can run Windows 10. Not much is different between the two.
Thank you thank you thank you I thought I was screwed too I've got an old optiplex 790 with a Intel i5 4 series and I just booted all I did was change the registry through the BIOS on the front end during the install which means I made the ISO file for USB UEFI boot I got the error saying that my machine hardware was not suitable for Windows 11 so I hit shift and F10 to command prompt and entered notepad because I already copied the registry into a text document that's accessible from the file menu in the notepad never done that before and that was pretty cool..copied it and then went back to the command prompt and went to the regedit.exe... copy what I had on the the text document into the actual local registry and then started the install process all over and Golden... I had to actually download the ISO file from Android host file of all places checksum good worked out everything's even better when I can beat the status quo

I am using it through leaked win 11 iso
Yes. I did it pretty much the same but unpacked/repacked install.wim, and renamed to install.esd with just the target version.
TPM 1.2 I never enabled secure boot and it's a 6th gen. Windows update is being a sore loser.
You may need to edit the registry after. Lookin' around myself.

2. On the next page, click Install Now.
3. On Activate Windows page, Press Shift + F10 to open a command prompt window.

Having a look
Hello,
I saw on a website someone has installed the Windows 11 on a Smartphone.
Think you is it possible to do it on the Surface RT ? It's the same architecture ARM.
So far there is no ARM32 builds of Win11, so no. Not yet, anyways. The smartphone had to have been ARM64/Aarch64, the Surfaces are ARM32.

No problem! Maybe it will be possible one day, only the future will be able to tell us.
I'm feelling ready to brick an RT Surface (1st Gen), to test Windows11. I don't know what is going to happen. But, who knows...?
And in my hands, have a Surface Pro 1st Gen wich, i think is an I5 Processor, 64-bit. At this equipment, i'm trying to restore/fix boot record. I've allready entered in recovery mode. But forgot to fix this problem, and now i need again to enter in recovery mode. But it allways enter in bios setup!

The RT just won't boot to Windows, only issue it'll have as there is for sure no 32bit or ARM32/Aarch32 builds, only WinPE is 32bit (you could recover it). As for your Pro 1st gen, it'll be fine. Just be sure to bypass the TPM 2.0 thing.

Yup. Linux/FOSS for life
No, because windows RT used ARM 32, but windows 11 only support ARM64

I've installed a recent w11 build (on ARM system tho) and it just needed:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup
Key: LabConfig
DWORD 32bit
BypassTPMCheck = 1
BypassRAMCheck = 1
BypassSecureBootCheck = 1
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup
MoSetup Key
Dword 32 Bit
AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU
Value = 1 Hexadecimal
How to open registry editor on installer:
1. Press Shift+F10
2. Once command prompt window appears type "regedit" and press enter
Option 2:
1. Ensure you're on main page with the Install Now button
2. Press the "Repair your computer" link on bottom
3. Troubleshoot -> Command Prompt
4. Once command prompt window appears type "regedit" and press enter

Wait, do you think I asked what CPU the keys work on? My bad if so, was asking if you installed Windows on an ARM64 or ARM32 CPU
