I bought a gts 4 correctly configured and connected to both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. I also enabled alexa.
The problem is that when I'm away from home and use the data connection alexa doesn't work and always asks me to check the internet connection of the watch.
I state that from the mobile phone with the alexa app it takes commands regularly.
Isn't it that on the gts 4 to make alexa work you need to be connected to wifi?
Thank
Hispa

Got my gear s and my note 4.
Great devices.
So- I have a few questions and can't seem to find answers.
1) when I'm connected via Bluetooth - all my calls from the gear appear to be made via my phone? Correct?
2) If Bluetooth and WiFi is on, and then I turn off Bluetooth on the watch-the two will pair with WiFi and have same situation as #1 above? Which is better? WiFi or Bluetooth if my statement is correct.
3) if I turn off WiFi and Bluetooth.... Can the phone and the watch interact? (via 3g/4g)? Or am I purely on the standalone phone?
4) if I leave the phone home (similar q to #3) I know I can forward my calls so my watch will ring when phone called. Also, the watch will ring when watch called. But- how can I get my text messages from my phone? Is it only possible to get texts sent to watch number?
Thanks in advance!

1) yep
2) yep, or if you wander out of range of bt on phone, but still have wifi connection and phone is still on. BT uses less power, so it's preferred if available.
3) um. yes, basically uses 3G instead of wifi IF phone is still on.
4) as long as phone is on, it's the same as #3 above. If phone is off, then calls (and only calls) get forwarded to watch.
Thanks found my issue. Weak mobile signal at house. Can't connect remotely. Bummer.
if your connected to bt, and mobile network is on (on watch)... Does mobile network burn battery? Does the process use watches 3-/4g?
You can force the watch to dial using the internal sim always (I have done this) the option is under the call settings on the watch menu.
To sync watch and phone when they are separated from WiFi and bluetooth you need to make sure you have enabled the option to sync via your samsung account on the phone in gear manager - not sure if this is ticked by default
Regarding battery usage with mobile on - I have my mobile network switched on constantly (turned off the auto on/off function) and set to connect at 2G speeds only. I easily get 24hrs of use with this. The auto on/off function will enable or disable mobile network when required.
For 90% of the day I am connected using bluetooth. I have mine set to auto call forward when I am out of bluetooth range.
Anyone able to explain the difference?
Also, does this thing actually use WiFi and mobile data to connect to your phone's connection? Or will it use its own WiFi or 3g to stream milk for instance?

Mine does both.
It will use Bluetooth, Wifi and Mobile Data in that order and should autoswitch to them as each becomes unavailable.
BTW, on Tmobile at least, Milk streaming is free (doesn't count against your data).
Hi,
my problem: I'm using my Tab3 in an aircraft for navigation. A anti collision device (FLARM/ADS) is connected via Wifi. That works fine.
BUT unfortunately I cannot connect to the web via 3G/4G at the same time.
I tried to set "Use always mobile data" in developer settings... no success.
As long as Wifi is on no chance to connect via mobile Data.
Is ther any chance to solve my problem? THX for your help!
I use my M5 in my car as a mobile hotspot so my Android headunit has internet access.
I have set it to stay on always and not time out.
However t he headunit loses internet access every time my M5 receives a WhatsApp message.
The only way to get it back is to disable and enable WiFi on the headunit.
I cannot figure out why this is happening.
I did not have this issue with my previous smartphones (Xiaomi Mi Max 3, Honor View 10)
I have interface for car with WIFI and i use it always when i driving. Problem is that i dont have access to internet becouse i use wifi to connect to OBD II inerface and mobile data automatically turn off. Is there a way to turn on mobile data while using WIFI? I have Huawei P20 lite with root andorid 9
Of course you can use Wi-Fi & Data Connection at the same time.
You can try Speedify 4.0 app - available off Google Play Store - that let you connect your phone’s Wi-Fi and data connection at the same time. It doesn’t require an account.
