My tv box amlogic s905x does not have a reset button - Android Stick & Console AMLogic based Computers

Hi, How are you? Good morning (Days/Afternoons/Nights), sorry for the inconvenience, but... Does anyone know where the TV box button reset is, I can't find it or I don't know where it is The model is tv box d9 I don't know more about her, I leave images, thanks in advance for answering.

It doesn't have a reset button, and cpu is S905L...

Do you know how I could install a custom ROM or firmware for this TV box without the reset button?

Don't get too much excited, you bought a one of those "sell and forget" devices without any kind of support from manufacturer. Forget any official or even custom firmware upgrades.

After successful root , you can try to install CWM for ICS 4.0.3 .
After installing take an backup of stock rom , if in future your phone get crash you can restore it .

Works with an ADB tweak
Pantel's BSNL Penta IS703C has weird path variable. the su present in /bin/ takes precedence. That file is merely a symlink to /bin/busybox. Rooting solutions don't affect it and therefore rooting this tablet from existing rooting solutions does not work.
Following method works for this tablet:
Follow all steps of any rooting solution, I chose root with restore by bin4ry with option 1
Enter ADB shell (root with restore by bin4ry folder contains adb.exe, use it by Windows cmd prompt)
Code:
adb shell
mv /bin/su /bin/su1
Done!

Where did you get an upgraded firmware from? I know of only two official firmwares.
20120910%20IS703C%20software.zip (new)
and
IS703C1GB.zip (old)
(Here is my opinion about these two firmwares:
New
Pros: Obviously, it is new. Offers more apps. Physical buttons work as volume keys. Taskbar has hide option.
Cons: Wallpaper says that P. C. Chacko has gifted tablet to some scholar. /system/media/boot.mp3 plays annoying audio at startup. Taskbar has screenshot button. Stock Skype app is by tom.com.
Fix: Remove wallpaper. Rename boot.mp3 from ADB/root. Install official Skype app.
Old
Pros: Physical buttons work as menu and back keys.
Cons: Older version. Less apps.)
I have tried both firmwares and both work fine. Did you try some firmware for some other tablet? If so, then you'll have to flash any original firmware back.
Actually I tried installing CWM of a fly tablet but it didnt worked so reflashed stock firmware. But after some timme my tab refused to boot. still looking for a solution.
Try this

If your tablet is still detected by ADB, then you might be able to reflash the stock firmware again. I don't know if any JTAG sort of fixes are provided by Pantel service center. I suggest you ask them, no harm in asking.

Since it is detected by ADB, I wouldn't be much worried.
I see that you earlier tried pantel.in/Download/Software/IS703C1GB.zip. Have you ever tried pantel.in/Download/Software/20120910 IS703C software.zip instead? It is the newer firmware from Pantel.

Problems with chinese Android tablet after graphic key was forgotten

Hi, everybody!
I have an android tablet Dicra Tab 975g. My daughter forgot a graphic key. So, after a few tries to guess it, she finally blocked the tablet on the lock screen. To unlock the tablet I need to enter email and password of the current user. Unfortunately, it is also unknown.
I thought it would be good to hard reset the device. But when I try to access recovery mode, it appears with a chinese language. Thanks to Google Translate I've found a menu item to "Clear data". But it doesn't help. Also I used Google Search to find a firmware for this tablet. Also without result.
What can you advise me?

Flashing the stock firmware will fix the problem.
Try to contact the manufacturer and ask how to flash it.
Good luck and reply what happened
Edit: may I know what other options you have in recovery??
Is there an option "adb sideload"??
I don't know if it works like adb normal commands.
If ues select the adb sideload and connect the tablet to the PC and open a command window (important to be in the same folser with adb.exe) and type :
adb shell **press enter**
recovery --wipe_data **presa enter**
Good luck and reply with the results.

4. In CMD type the following commands, replace YOURIPADDRESS with the address we got from step 3
Code:
adb connect YOURIPADDRESS
adb push custom-recovery.img /sdcard/

Wifi module is not a factor anymore.
Aslong as your device is 2/16GB this could possibly work.
great to hear this i will be testing
I had no PC around (at least not in the same ip-range
So, i installed the Flashify app and used that instead...works great! So now i have TWRP 'loaded' i will give it a go in a few minutes....#fingerscrossed #yeah
Well...no USB-stick or microsdcard laying around at the moment and i also use 1 usb port for power and the other for remote control. So I ended up downloading the ROM directly to my T95Zplus.....no errore during flashing, wiped cache/dalvik and rebooting right now and so far so good...!

I didn't get a boot loop; however, attempt to activate wifi resulted in wifi switch button moving to on position and after ~3 seconds returning to the off position. Is it possible this needs to be debugged on a per-wireless-chipset basis? I'm on 8830 q201_6255....
Please advise and let me know if I can help out with logs, etc.
Thanks

From which firmware did you flash?
I don't know if partitions are different sizes and maybe that did trigger the bootloop? I come from goo.gl/hWrmxY (Android 7.1.1 with root, 1013) and that did not work so far...

Im gonna update it tonight, ill need someone to PM me, im gonna need someone to test as i dont have my TV box with me and im away on buisness, i think i have found the wifi bug, but as you can tell with the ROM ram usage is ALOT less, framework is much smoother and alot of apps have been updated from the manufacturer
Ill also be basing it on the newest build 1075(Or if anyone has a newer build PM me)
This rom will be pretty stock with more features implemented and possibly some apps i might make ffor the device

Hi and thanks a lot for works.
i flashed my 3gb/32gb variant with a 2gb/16gb rom and it's done. but if i setup my wifi in a few seconds the startup animation appears on the screen and hang during animation.
When i start the set top box with lan cable inside, it's hang at the end of start animation and stay on T95z plus logo with the space behind but without any network it's start and the launcher appear...
can you put in the HDMI section in setting menu ? to have the CEC support?

Maybe you can consider to bake a little reboot app (i use Simple Reboot) into the ROM cause it makes it much easier to test and restore/backup especially when there is no internet with this ROM at the moment.
For now I have some apk's ready on a sdcard so I will get there but would make things a little easier...

adb connect not working
Hi,
Thank you very much for all your effort Ricky. I have T95Z Plus 2/16 variatnt. I am unable to connect to my TV box using adb. I have USB debugging enabled on my TV box. The TV box and my Mac from where I am trying to run adb commands are on the same wifi network. I have tried connecting my TV box to my Mac using USB cable but still adb connection fails with error "Host is down" and sometimes "Operation timed out".
I cannot proceed further without this step. Any help is much appreciated.
Apart from adb, can I copy the files into SD card or USB drive and install it? If so, what will be the steps?
Thanks again!

I'm trying to understand how this box works.
I know how to turn the box in the recovery mode.
You need to press the power button (the button near the sync button) and then press the power switch. Kepp the power button pressed , dont releae it till you see the recovery on the screeen.
But neither ADB sideload nor Fastboot work , I trued both USB A port on the device.
Did you find some other info ?

I'm trying to understand how this box works.
I know how to turn the box in the recovery mode.
You need to press the power button (the button near the sync button) and then press the power switch. Kepp the power button pressed , dont releae it till you see the recovery on the screeen.
But neither ADB sideload nor Fastboot work , I trued both USB A port on the device.
Did you find some other info ?

Any updates on this? sharing the open source doc, hoping that it helps in finding a root for this device.

Thank you helped me a lot to understand how to flash
BUT
i tried but got the message this device is not google certified....
cant fix it :-(
after 20 minutes after activating it was working.... didnt expect that time needed for that
EDIT: Play store still says not certified :-(
Try this:
Register your device on https://www.google.com/android/uncertified/
To get the ID, you can either:
- adb root, then adb shell, press enter, and at the new prompt, inside adb shell, do sqlite3 /data/data/com.google.android.gsf/databases/gservices.db 'select * from main where name = "android_id";'
- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.evozi.deviceid => Google Service Framework (GSF) ID
Click to collapse
I never tested these steps.
