Anyone figured this out yet? My kids love the funny face effect but we can't seem to figure out the background effect. You choose one and it says to get out of view and put the Prime down. We've done that but when you pick the Prime back up to shoot the effect is only shown where the picture is dark or black. I don't get it. It's really no big deal but my kids love stuff like this.
Set up the prime where it can stand by itself (set it up where the background isn't moving). Then turn on the effect. Stay out of the view of the camera. Then go back into view after it displays the Image you chose on the screen and record yourself. Its not actively fun because you cant use it and see it at the same time. It acts as a green screen though. So its fun for music videos or little plays.
Edit:
You can also put it over your own videos in the pick your own video one so you could make a face to face with yourself video.
Also shadows will be interpreted as new objects and in turn not be "Green Screened" so pick an area where the is minimal shadows.
Thanks, I'll give that a try tonight.
Hi all,
Having some issues with pictures being sideways in my camera album and with videos being turned sideways when trying to compress them to send by email. In the case of the pictures they will show sideways in the gallery thumbnails but will open right side up. I can't rotate them by hooking the phone up to my PC and accessing the SD Card through Windows (looks like I should have permission to modify but rotate is greyed out). Any of the photo editing apps I try on the phone itself show the pictures the right way up when I open them and even if I rotate it and try to save, they still stay the same way. I use the Ultimate Photo Widget and it always shows the pictures sideways and I would really like to fix them.
In regards to videos I am trying to get the same functionality as an iPhone where you can adjust the size before emailing. I have tried Video Compress, Video Shrink, Vidtrim and VidCon but they all seem to compress with varying degrees of success but it seems like no matter what I do the resulting videos have been turned sideways.
I am running Resurrection Remix JB 3.1.2 if that is helpful and greatly appreciate any insight you may be able to provide.
Thanks!

On stock TouchWiz...When taking photos, the enivronment I see on the phone screen at the time of the photo looks nice and bright, but viewing the actual photo in the Gallery makes the photo look a good bit darker (even if a use a flash). I've tried several environments (bright/dim) and I've also tried several settings on the phone (camera settings, screen settings, brightness, etc.), but I always see the same result. Is anyone else seeing this on their phones?
I noticed that too! Not sure what to do about it though.
After some experimenting, I think it's the phone's auto-dimmer kicking in after exiting the camera to view the photo. Try disabling automatic brightness control in your notification blind and see if that helps.
Tappin' and talkin' with Tapatalk.
I've tried that before and yes, disabling the auto-brightness does seem to help, but I'm not sure it fixes it entirely. Either way, it seems there is a problem with the Gallery and the auto-brightness setting, which sucks because I hate having to turn off auto-brightness just to look at my pictures (and not using auto-brightness kills the battery).
My z5 compact rotates portrait pictures to landscape mode when posting then to Facebook, Instagram or Layout. Sharing them from Galleri or directly in the app makes no difference. Rotating a picture in Facebook, and when saved or/and accepted change it reverts back to landscape mode again. Shooting 20 mpx 16.9 in Auto. Tried turning Auto rotate on and off in settings, no change. Running stock. 152. Anyone else with this issue? Feels like a Sony bug as it happens in different apps...
Edit. With Gallery I meant Album app. Have Google Photo syncing my pics and the wrong rotation appears there to, but if I share pictures from Google Photo to Facebook corrections there works. Turning off the sync in Google Photo has no impact on the problem sharing from Album or directly in Facebook....
I have this problem too
Anybody else having that problem?
Yeah, having the same issue, but not every single picture taken exhibits the wrong orientation.
I did notice though that even though the UI elements in the camera rotate properly to portrait, the APP itself is in landscape. You can tell from the way the nav buttons are turned sideways when you swipe up from the bottom.
I've cleared the cache but it hasn't fixed it.
Turning on Auto-Rotate doesn't change anything either.
If any of you have a Sony Forum account, it's probably worth reporting.

Same issue here. Another not so wonderful thing about this camera.
Hello all,
This has been an issue since I got the pixel 6 at launch. When playing videos, the shadows appear washed out. It appears to be some sort of gamma shift or HDR tone mapping issue. This happens when in google photos, chrome browser, imgur, even other apps. (youtube is fine).
I've confirmed in person this happens to other pixels one of which was pixel 6 pro.
The issue is recorded here:
I tried changing the color setup under display options in system settings, turning off H265 in camera settings, booting into safe mode, forcing 60hz refresh rate, but it still washes out the videos.
This does not happen with videos shot by other phones, for example my wife's iPhone shot video then sent it over to me and the gamma shift does not happen...
Strange thing is, in Chrome while playing the video, as soon as I swipe up from the bottom to open the recent apps, the video jumps back to normal as seen here:

I reported this to google, and their chat support to me to fully nuke my phone to factory....
Does anyone have any idea why this is happening, and could other Pixel 6 users verify it's happening on their devices as well ?
Thank you

I seldom shoot video with phones and usually don't like to reference reviews. But from what you described Dxomark's summary about video performance is looking to be spot-on.
Google Pixel 6 Camera review: An outstanding performer in its segment - DXOMARK
The Google Pixel 6 camera displayed an outstanding performanc and is currently the best option for photographers who prefer smaller devices.

My experience with dark objects in still photos has been somewhat similar. Recently I couldn't get enough detail photographing black camera bodies I'm selling online. Even with direct light from a daylight LED lamp I ended up using night mode. Every speck of dust showed up which wasn't ideal either.
Over all, though, I like the Pixel 6 camera.

Did you ever find an answer to this? I'm having the same issue... though it's not for every video, just in certain programs/websites.
Cheers.
I've been able to remedy this in chrome by turning off HW Overlays in Developer Options.
It's still an issue in Google Photos.

Sorry if I didin't understand it at first, the toggle to disable HW Overlays in the developer options will always turn off again, at least in Pixel 6, so that's what confused me

Huh it stays on on note 10 . In that case i am not shure how u can keep it on. Can u elaborate on when it turn itself off back again?
Weird, after I turn it on, I can go to any other screen on the phone, if I come back the toggle it´s off again, maybe it´s a bug on my end, here´s the example
