Nabi 2 revival server? - Fuhu Nabi 2

Can someone like @blakegriplingph can revive the Nabi 2 servers from Fuhu when it shutdown in 2019?
Any tips, tricks or progress can be posted here.
Mod edit: Social media link.removed.

I'm afraid not as no one even bothered saving the files from that server.

Well, they can recreate it.

Not that simple, we don't know what exactly was on those severs. That's like telling you to recreate a text file I deleted from my computer. While it technically could be possible there isn't enough interest in a niche and obsolete product for someone to painstakingly remake servers from nothing and then host them. Sorry to disappoint.

Hello I'm new and was reading about these tablets, unfortunately I bought 2 before reading, and I am really regretting it.

ASUS Webstorage - Anyone Using It?

I am a Dropbox and Skydrive user but I've been tempted to subscribe to ASUS Webstorage. The prices seem very good for unlimited and 4GB file size max. I've seen a lot of complaints about speed but their privacy policy seems fair and non-intrusive. Just wanted to see what other XDA members thought of it.
Check out "Box"
If you search around a little you can find a free 50gig account
And a how to. yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

BUT
Do a little research and you will see they have a low, low, low upload limit per file. Like less than 100mb. To get more, you pay. Many of us have files to upload way bigger than 100mb or want to upload blocks of files (like vids or MP3), so Box.com is proving to be a bit of a joke to many.
Anyway, I have not used the Asus storage ... yet. I understood we get it free for a period of time - like 1 year - and then it costs. So, I was not going to set it up until/unless I really had a need for it.
I am all about DropBox - they have a good app, free to signup, you can earn more and more free space.
In a word... It sucks.
I have the "Unlimited" Asus WebStorage for one year that I got with the TF101, and an 8 Gb. "Eternal" one with the Prime. Wish I could combine for an "Eternal, Unlimited" account, LOL!
The documentation is freaking horrible, there are huge issues with it, it is clunky, poorly integrated, and the desktop client is a resource hog. But, hey, it's free, right? Not so right. I played with it obstinately sure I could overcome it's clunkiness, or that they would fix it (They ARE fixing it, at a good pace, but there is SO much wrong, I couldn't stay & wait. Uninstalled from all my desktops. I still use some of the backup capacity. Check this out: You can backup (if you have the unlimited account) ALL of your PC's to it, and it sets up a directory structure that matches your desktop. Not terrible, but upload speeds sucks on most cable providers, mine being Timeneverending uploads Warner and it literally takes the better part of a week to fully seed the backup.
Then the WebStorage, you can upload and sync, but cannot move stuff around from one online folder to another, and have to pick ONE FILE AT A TIME to upload and download. Yep. Not even a folder at a time, unless you use the backup tool which doesn't work well for online storage and easy retrieval.
They may have fixed a good deal of this, it HAS been several months since i threw in the towel. I may check it again, but the support site is all terribly translated to English, it was so bad, I made some corrections, and they put MU SUGGESTIONS on the site, asking me "What else needs correction?"
Well, I am flattered you trust my English skills, but since I am not on the payroll... Suggested they hire a Proofreader with a Masters degree in language, and English as their first language.
I mean really: Asus wants to compete with Apple, Samsung etc., they need to start projecting a professional image, and get their marketing materials to stop saying things like:
"No matter it's the sweet honeymoon pictures, hardworking reports, music that you can't live without" ? Huh?
"Upload and share that treasurable pictures all at once even there are thousands of them!"
It's funny, but not THAT funny, and definitely UN funny for a paid service....
I think these issues are ALL fixable. The question is how much Asus will invest in resources to get these things in order.
EDIT: So I decided to revisit the WebStorage site, and, instead of downloading one of the Windows Clients (Sync only, Windows [Advanced], and Windows [Server]) I just used the Web Client. It will not let you transfer a Folder in any way, so I had to manually create a matching folder structure, then, I selected all of the files in one folder that wasn't too big (some 20 or so files) After 3 files it crapped out, and what was weird is, it only uploaded the once I could see in the scroll box, so I tried again, and guess what? As long as I kept the next file to upload visible (by scrolling to keep in in view) it worked, ANYTIME I let it get out of site, the dowloads would stop. Oh, and it has this flashy animation that looks like water filling a file folder for each upload. I suspect that is part of root cause, it might need to run the silly animation to continue the script, and if it's not visible it doesn't run.
Worse, there is no way to expand the scroll box so you could make all files visible. See what I mean? Free is no bonus when something is ore trouble than its worth. I give up.
Thanks for the early insights...yeah, I got one of the 50GB Box accounts but it seems clumsy. Dropbox is super smooth and easy. ASUS Webstorage seems intriging, mainly just to store my multimedia (pics, videos, music.)

How does one get an Eternal account? I have the Prime.
And thanks for your comments. I still may try it out, especially if I get the "Eternal" option.

HTC inspire AT&T bypass lockscreen password

My daughter has a HTC Inspire & recently lost it due to behavior unbecoming for a young lady!! My question is is there a way to gain root access in order to blow out the password file & access the phone or any other trick that wont reset everything? If im being honest, Im scared to death of what I might find but also believe its something that needs to be addressed before something even worse happens! Any of you with daughters know what im talking about.
I guess I could just record a youtube video of me putting a couple rounds in it!
Thanks in advance!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1357490
this should do it
That looks like a nice program to instal on the device after I get into it but as it stands now the phone is locked & I dont even think its even rooted at this time! I need a tool or windows download of some sort. Any help greatly appreciated!
How about this?
http://androidadvices.com/unlock-android-phone-forgot-pin-password-screen-lock/
It should work but it will require you to know the Gmail account (username and password) that your daughter used when she setup the phone in order to access android market on your PC and download the app.
Good luck

Do you know the # of characters for the password?
Start by trying things that you know your daughter is into... favourite band, tv show, etc.. or simple things like her birthday, her best friend's name
But honestly, why wouldn't you just ask her?
Tell her AT&T needs to know her password so they can try to recover the phone... just get creative, then once you unlock it install the app and you're good to go!
Yeah I figured out the password & tried to install the program but it says for security your phone is set to block installation of non market apps & takes me to settings but i couldnt find any options to allow me to do it.
Is this a relevant article or is there an newer or easier way?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=706887
Go to
Menu > Settings > Applications
Check the "unknown sources" box, good to go.
Not sure if AT&T still locks their phones from doing this.. but if so, the option won't be there..
I can't imagine that they would do still lock them from sideloading because then you wouldn't be able to use the Amazon app store..
Let me know

Jesus man ......... i so wish you hadn't posted this bro ........*sigh*.
I have 6 year old twin girls ......... and one of them Gretel ........ already has the most inappropriate friends you could possible imagine ...............
Am not being 'square' in believing 6 year olds do not need high heels am I??
That 6 year olds encouraging each other to kiss boys is unnecessarily early??
Or that in 2012 hair length and colour of garment should not be a big gender signifier??
Dood .......... please tell me it gets better??
Yeah its NOT giving me that option..... Im updating the software in hopes that fixes it. any other work arounds for sideloading if not?
And no sir unfortunately it DOESNT get better! Im gonna end up in prison!! LOL
No offence, but at six years old, you should be able to dictate who her friends are - so long as you have the mother's (wife's?) support
I do hear what you are saying.. environmentally it's hard nowadays.. so much inappropriate influence from media/friends/etc
but my five year old daughter does what I say.. end of story.. it all boils down to the parents. Act now brother! Save the children! (seriously) it only gets harder.

Yeah that would work where it not for the fact that my kids are at school full time 5 days a week 9am-3pm and the inappropriate kids are her school friends. I have no control over who see hangs with at school ........ just like every other parent.
Looking for solutions for something similar to this.
maybe a free solution..... Anyone heard or have any expeirence with anything like this?
mobile-spy.com
Go to htcsense.com, log on to the accpunt she useful for HTC apps. From there you can track her phone, forward messages and calls to another phone. Lock the phone, etc..... I love it because I lost it once and I tracked it down and found it, also I was able to forward everything to my galaxy s.

I was infected ANDROID

Hi,
I recently met someone online who was a romantic type of encounter but the more we spoke the more creeped out I got by the things hes seemed to know about me.
I finally came to the conclusion the things he said to me were extremely huge red flags, there was no way it was a coincidence anymore, and he knew FAR too much about things personal to me such as separate email accounts, and fake birthdates I use as only the last straw before I concluded to reset my device.
Code:
Alcatel
One Touch
Fierce 2
Kitkat
Thats the device I have. We 1st spoke on Kik and he sent me 2 pictures. One was of him that would not open an image. I tried to open it several times but it was just a blank picture.
The second I was able to view and download.
Does anyone know if this is possible to become infected by those means alone?
Otherwise it is possible he made a fake account and infected me with a link that did not work, but I was always under the impression that it was not possible to become infected by Rat or Keylogger with out installation. I was told in a recent thread I could become infected with opening a false link(???).
Im pretty much 100% sure I was infected. I hard reset my phone, but not the SD card yet. I believe the virus is gone, but I feel very creeped out this happen and do not see this going anywhere further but I would like to know if it is even possible. Theres no way Im being paranoid, but I do get a little over worried sometimes, unfortunately I think this was one of the genuine times.
How is it possible if someone did? Anybody have a link to a good article I could learn more? Thanks. PLEASE FORWARD TO ANYONE WHO MAY HAVE ANY ADVICE AT ALL WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED
Most likely he (or she) learned information about you some other way.
You might be surprised what people can learn from the "right" Google searches using some known info like email and city.
If a password on some account can be guessed, that can provide a flood of info, like reading every email or forum posts.
Most infections are from Android apps installed outside of Google Play. Image file viruses are theoretically possible, but I don't recall hearing of any such thing lately.

Issues with spoofing MAC address on Samsung Galaxy S6 G920W8

Hey guys, I'm currently using a rooted Samsung Galaxy S6 G920W8 with Wind Mobile. I have an issue, and it's with spoofing the MAC address of the device. My parents have blacklisted my MAC address so I am no longer able to access the wifi. The router that I'm trying to connect to is a Bell Home Hub 2000.
Let's say I used an app (any apps) from the Google store (along with Pry-Fi, which destroyed my wifi and I had to reinstall the stock OS to make it work again), it temporarily changes the MAC address until I restart the wifi, but here's the catch: there's an authentication error when attempting to connect to my wifi. Terminal commands produce the same auth error. I don't experience the authentication issue when spoofing the mac address on Windows 7 and 8.1.
Keep in mind I'm a wannabe when it comes to android-related things. I don't know what I'm doing 99.99% of the time.
I've tried tampering around with /efs/wifi/.mac.info and changing the MAC from there, nothing happened.
I've also tried tampering around with /.init.wifi.rc, setting .mac.info to read-only and executing the file. Still no luck.
I remember once I was tampering around with the two files mentioned above and I somehow managed to make it work, but I don't remember how.
I've tried using Locally Administered MAC addresses and Globally Unique MAC addresses, but that still didn't do the trick.
I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me out in any way by providing clear steps as to what I should do.
If someone could provide a custom kernel that would fix the issue, that would be fantastic.
Thanks for reading.
Spoofing a mac address is not completely easy without things getting messed up completely.
If your parents blocked it then to be honest take the hint.
Also they may not blocked it persay but set only allowed macs to connect. This is what I did to my kids devices. Now unless I add the device. Nothing connects.

I don't mean to sound rude, but I asked for a solution, not for advice from a parent's perspective. Now if you read carefully, you would've seen that I'm able spoof my mac on a Windows OS and successfully connect to the internet. Take the hint, it means MAC filtering is disabled.
I appreciate you taking the time to write a reply, though it isn't exactly the one I'm looking for.

Saying it works on windows is completely pointless. They are 2 very different operating systems. Just because something can be done on one doesn't mean it can be done by another. Now as changing the Mac is in the Grey of being illegal you will be hard pressed to find any help here. Let alone the Mac is hard coded and once you mess it up there is almost no recovering and most of the time you can never connect to wifi ever again as it get stuck on an invalid Mac.
Now this isn't even from a parents view. It's from just another person. You should respect their wishes. Want to do what ever you want then get your own Internet connection.

It must be a coincidence that I might not find any help here, as there's a lot of unanswered threads in this sub-forum. Everything I've learnt regarding mac spoofing for android was found within the xda forums, so please. Yes, you are right. The MAC got stuck on an invalid MAC and I had to reinstall the stock firmware.
Again, I need solutions. I don't care about information that won't help me advance forward with what I'm trying to accomplish. I know it's possible, because like I've mentioned in the original post I've succeeded doing it by accident.
Please stop further wasting my time in writing useless replies and do like the other 15+ thread viewers: don't write anything if it isn't contributing towards my success with spoofing the MAC. :good:

Second off as it is borderline illegal to do so you are lucky I didn't just delete the thread when I saw it.

MAC spoofing isn't illegal unless you're intending to do malicious things with it. Besides, this thread is posted in the subforum called "Android Development and Hacking Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting". In case that didn't ring a bell, it's here where people ask for support. I figured seeing this is a android developers forums, there would be a plethora of smart people that could help me with a platform that I'm not familiar with.
Here's the deal, I'm paying part of the rent and the internet, but seeing there's a conflict between the relationship with my mom's boyfriend and I he decided to be a **** and block me off. Now, is MAC spoofing to get access for something that I paid for in any way illegal? No, it is not. Are you happy that I had to enlighten you on what's going on in my life in order for you to understand the situation? Are you going to ask me to respect my mom's boyfriend's wishes?
Please, respect my wishes and leave the thread which I started alone. You're causing unwanted commotion and spam just because I asked for a simple request. The best thing you can do is just bite your tongue and not reply to my thread. You should private message me if you have a problem, not tell me "you're lucky I didn't delete your thread" in order to gain leverage over the argument. If it was illegal you would've deleted it at first sight. I expect more coming from a reputable Senior Moderator that's been around for almost 10 years.

Still not a support Forum.
Now you might want to check your attitude at the door.
So let's look at this for a min. If the Internet account is not in your name then it is illegal by the letter of the law. Doesn't matter who pays for what.
The only reason I didn't delete it is so it comes up when others search this topic.
You want to get this fixed then you have 2 choices. 1. Fix the issue you have at home with your connection. 2. Figure out how you got it to work before.
Now I will end this here and close this thread. Good luck to you and what ever you figure out.

Question I have been totally hacked for 9 months

We have been through five phones -Samsung Galaxy, then Motorola, two internet providers two cell phone providers, made so many calls I have lost count. He uses Chromebook and a Motorola Droid phone. He has even hacked my old home phone, tv, you name it, he has tried to own it . Oh, I forgot-my home security and ring doorbells also. I can change an app permission and I can see him go right in and change it back. I am sure he lives close in the neighborhood How do I get rid of this horrible person?
He grays out permissions, default apps, etc., Which keeps me from being able to delete an app, or change someone being able to access in the background. He has confiscated our emails (Gmail), prevents us from sending or receiving ones he doesn't like. He uses email for email on the web, advertising, chat, and many other things. He listens to phone calls steals all photos, maps addresses to companies or people in contacts, uses maps for ?? Xxx an anyone help me, or at least tell me how to reverse graying out on apps? This has become unbearable! Thank you!
How do you know it's a he?
It's always the girl next door.
Lol! I cannot prove it, but the big gamers nextdoor moved in when this started happening. Their best friend is an experienced IT guy who only appears when I have gone in and changed things. In those days, new changes happen, such as Ring doorbells hacker, etc. Not blaming, but coincidence?

This sounds like a great fan fiction and will bookmark this to see how the story develops. Thank you for putting this in Moto G Power section right where it belongs!
Sounds like you might need to invest in a router with better security features.

Why are you posting on XDA? If you are this convinced that someone has unauthorized access to your devices, you need to be talking to law enforcement. The best advice we can offer you is to change all your passwords immediately, enable 2 factor authentication, and if possible seek a restraining order. XDA is a smart device hacking and development community, not a private investigation service.

I didn't think you were a p.i. firm. Obviously, I am not tech savvy. A little kindness please? I simply want to know how to ungray grayed out app permissions. I have searched on my own and cannot find the answer. I have reported it to local police, state police, Motorola, Samsung, Verizon, Xfinity, metronet, on and on and on. No help from anyone. I don't have $2,500.00 to just put down a retainer for a p.i. I knew someone on this forum would know the answer I am searching for and might kindly tell me. Thank you.

Well, it can be hard to distinguish the difference between reasonable concern over privacy violations vs unwarranted paranoia, and you aren't the only one who's come to XDA with this type of story. Most of your assumptions are likely mistaken and can be simply explained by the nature of Android itself.
Remote intrusion of mobile devices is actually pretty rare. The most common ways bad actors get ahold of sensitive user information are: phishing, user-approved permissions on questionable apps such as TikTok, and "connected" social media accounts, where users allow websites and apps access to their social media profiles, or use their social media as a login.
Regardless, to the technical point of the matter, grayed out app permissions are not the result of hacking or surreptitious malfeasance, but rather the nature of the "rules" inherent to Android - you can't remove system apps or disable system-controlled permissions without root.
If you still think you have reasons for concern, this is my only suggestion:
Change your phone number
Immediately change all relevant passwords - minimum 10 characters, a mix of upper case, lower case, numbers, and special characters, do not reuse them
Enable 2 factor authentication on all accounts, ensuring your 2nd factor is something that you and only you have access to
Once done, sign out all devices signed into those accounts
Perform a factory reset on your device; even better, reflash factory firmware. Keep bootloader locked.
Do not use questionable apps
