I ordered a "Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Lake Green 4Gb Ram 128Gb ROM" from Amazon. All my research indicated that this phone was a Redmi Note 10:
Qualcomm SDM765 Snapdragon 765G Octa-core processor
Lake Green color
Model M2101K7AG
I received what appears to be a Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G:
Model M2103K19C
However, it appears to be:
Lake Green color (not offered on XIaomi Redmi Note 10 5G)
Qualcomm Octo-Core Max 2.2GHz (Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G has a MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor)
So, from my research I appear to have a quasi Note 10/Note 10 5G.
Before I go through the Amazon return process, can anyone help me:
1) Identify whether the phone has mojito vs camellia?
2) Find any other identifying information that would determine if this phone is capable of using mojito targeted ROMs?
3) Tell me which phone I have in my hand?

Redmi Note 10 (mojito/sunny) have a Snapdragon 678 processor
check Aida64 or Device Info HW to see all device specifications
or send pictures of the device so we can recognize it
Device specifications lists:
Android version: 11 RP1A,200720.011
MIUI version: 12.5.1.0(RKSEUXM)...which seems to indicate Redmi Note 10 5G
Baseband version: MOLY.NR15.R3MP.V4.3P63
Kernel version: 4.14.186-perf-g11c1b40f5322
But I cannot find mention of mojito/sunny or camellia.
I used Aida64 and it noted:
camellian
M2103K19C
MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor
So, this confirms that it is a Redmi Note 10 5G, but also seems to indicate that the seller is shady.
Thank you for the advice on where to look, it was very helpful.

Actually Dimensity 700 is superior over the SD678 in more ways than one. Plus the refresh rate of 90 hz and you got a clear winner. I have the Redmi Note 10 and it is an ok phone but it struggles running more than one app : e.g Outlook and Maps, making switching between them a real pita. It sometimes takes up to 10 sec for Outlook to open a mail. It is ridiculously slow CPU for what it is supposed to do on a modern Android Platform.

I meant no judgement on the Dimensity 700, I only meant that the seller clearly stated that it was the Snapdragon, but the phone had the MediaTek, which indicated shadiness to me. I am sure that the Redmi Note 10 5G is great, and better than the Redmi Note 10, which is why it costs more. But it was not the phone that I was looking for.

Should I purchase a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 with Helio X20 MIUI 8 with Android 6 or a Redmi Note 3 pro with Snapdragon? Even if Xiaomi releases a Note 4 with Snapdragon is there much of a difference in the 4 to wait, by chance? Seeking opinions, if I am in the wrong forum please guide me, thanks.
Always choose for Snapdragon. By my own experience.
Only take a look to the Snapdragon v/s Mediatek version dev sub-forum....
the x20 is faster, but not by much. the sd650 is proven very battery efficient
i would go for the sd too
Redmi Note 3 Pro by a long way. Unless you are happy using MIUI then RN4 may be ok. I cannot stand MIUI. Personally if you could wait then wait for the Redmi 4. Its supposed to be 5" 1080p Snapdragon 625. I am waiting for it as the RN3 Pro is too big for my hands.

Yup looks like it. Time to play the waiting game for hopefully an early Christmas present :good:
Xiaomi should compete against the Samsung A9 Pro for the next Redmi Note. That has a 6" screen, dual SIM and separate MicroSD slots (no hybrid slot nonsense), 4 GB RAM and 32 GB storage.
A larger Redmi Note would be welcome, for me anyway, because a Mi Max is simply too big. I wouldn't get a Mediatek-based phone ever again after being stuck with KitKat on a Note 3G. Qualcomm are a lot more respectful of GPL issues. Anyway, I think the Helio X20 has too many small cores - these work well in benchmarks but they do nothing for real world usage.

If only Mediatek went open-source, there's a guide for the Interactive governor that will fully utilise all those cores. It'll be interesting to see how they can be tweaked to increase an already large battery life.

This is a developer forum, not a marketplace. You can poach customers somewhere else.
Helio X20 have a little better performance in CPU and Adreno 510 burns Mali-T880 MP4 in Helio X20 and even X25.
Helio X20 CPU is 4+4+2. More like Snapdragon 615 with 2 high performance core from 650. But since XDA having far better support for Snapdragon.
If you want a better performance, go for Note 3 Snapdragon.
I'm predicting Note 4 Snapdragon will use Snapdragon 652/653 with 2/3GB Variant and a special edition with 4GB RAM will wreck any mid-range smartphone.

The 4x has fast charging and comes with a snapdragon 625 processor. The note 4 has no fast charging and comes in 2 different processor options. The faster mediateck processor and snapdragon 625. The 4x is cheaper because it comes with a slower processor. Antutu benchmark has 60,000 for the snapdragon and 80,000 with the mediateck processor. Also there are different global versions with different bands that will work for your country. Go to willmyphonework.net to check compatibility. There are other sites you can try to buy from geekbuying.com and AliExpress.com. Also you can see the different variants on kimovil.com. this site will also tell you prices benchmark scores and a lot more.
Nonsens 4x and 4 are the same.
4X may got diffrent camera sensor.
And its not support fast charging.
And is a Snap Dragon 625.
Get original Redmi Note 4 only.
I also think I have read that they are the same, and only difference is that LTE band or something?
I'm only looking for SD processor because it has more custom roms if I'm not wrong. And I've read that some people have problem with flashing roms on 4x or something
And yeah, I think its Snapdragon 625, not 652
There are 3 different versions of the Redmi Note 4:
1) Redmi Note 4 with Deca-Core Helio X20
2) Redmi Note 4 with Snapdragon 625
3) Redmi Note 4X with Snapdragon 625
Option (2) is imho the "best" of them all as it has not only the better battery compared to its brother (option (1)) but also has more bands (at least LTE Band 20, I think also Band 8 and Band 4 is a difference; you miss out on Bands 39 and 41) than it's cousin (option (3)).
I purchased myself option (2) and am hoping it will arrive soon. Of interesting observation is that (1) and (2) share the same root of name (being "Redmi Note 4") but option (2) is sometimes called "Redmi Note 4 Global Edition" or "Redmi Note 4 International Edition). But some sellers use that name as well for option (3) so please be extra mindful when selecting the option. What is more curious is that (2) and (3) seem to share the EXACT same dimensions and hole-setup, so when looking for a case you may be better off searching for Redmi Note 4X compatible ones as the IR-blaster share the same location amongst both.
As it seems the 64GB version seems to only be available in White+Gold as of now but I decided to not care and if I should care too much exchange the back of the phone for a silver coloured one. Obviously that voids the warranty, but I think international warranty repairs will become more expensive than a new phone will cost. I believe the back from option (3) should fit but I give no guarantee on that as I have had neither phone in my hand nor disassembled either and tested it out.
Further, no devices seem to support quick charging and I would not worry too much about it. The battery is quite large and using the SD version one should have quite a power efficient SoC.
The camera sensor seems to be largely based on Samsung's ISOCell technology these days, so no love from Sony IMX. I hope that noone gets the OmniVision version in here---they are said to be the worst.

Cheers,
the 3 sensors are not only restricted to the Redmi Note 4 Global Edition but also the 4X apparently. Best of luck on the sensor for you in any case.
Regarding LTE: Check with your local provider and the general setup of countries you plan to visit for best coverage information. This may change in the future but unlikely for larger changes as 4G is the de-facto standard right now and mature enough to have settled mostly.
There are several Redmi Note 4:
1. RN 4 (mediatek)
2.RN 4 (normal, sd 625) (ex. Indian Version)
3.RN 4 GLOBAL (sd 625, has LTE Band 20 - sometimes very useful depending on wich country) - Croatia you need this for some operators
Please do check this article on wikipedia : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LTE_networks_in_Europe , apparently in Croatia you need LTE B3 and B20 - hence get the RN 4 GLOBAL
4. RN 4X (sd 625, identical to normal version but with more Lte band only for China, also has BlueTooth 4.2 wheres all the other versions have 4.1)
As of camera sensor, it is like a lottery, you either get the Sony IMX258 or the Samsung S5K3L8. Please note that another NEW version of the phone is recently introduced to the market - RN 4X 3/16GB (please note the 3gb of Ram and 16 (sixteen) GB Rom) - DON'T get this one - it has a new Camera Sensor - Omnivision (chinese!). Imho both Sony and Samsung sensors are somewhat on par, but have been reports where the Omnivision senor has had problems.
If you need more info quote or PM me.
EDIT;
from the link you provided i suggest the second one because it clearly indicates the presence of B20 in the description: https://it.aliexpress.com/item/Glob...Snapdragon-Octa-Core-5-5-FHD/32796560515.html

Are you sure? I think they both have top and bottom plastic for antena, don't they?
Xiaomi MI series vs. Xiaomi REDMI series = which line is better?
Everybody knows that Mi series goal is to be better than Redmi at least in specs and performance.
But how about performance to price ratio, how about all other things that You dont worry and dont expect in REDMI casue it's cheap but You do expect it in the MI series?
What are the problems/things that You don't like in MI series?
What are the problems/things that You don't like in REDMI series if there is any? WHY? Cause we all know not to expect wonders for a low budget priced phones.
I've talked to many people who had/have REDMI and MI series Xiaomi phones (clients, selllers, internet folks, friends) and they only agree on ONE thing -the price is great wheter it is REMI or MI phone.
A strange thing happens.... REDMI owners are always satisfied. The only thing that bothers not all of them is the camera quality.
But in low and middle price segment REDMI beats EVERY other BRAND.
Xiaomi has also great prices in the high end flagship models but here MANY PEOPLE are dissapointed.
For example camera quality, screen quiality, body, bezel, bugs, no NFC, no european B20 LTE band.
The MI users also tell me that non of the above bothers them but something totaly different. EACH person = an original problem with MI device.
Can You please tell me what are Your problems/dislikes with MI and REDMI devices cause I'm about to buy one from each segment?
What should I worry about (Android updates maybe?) buying a REDMI and a MI phone IN YOUR PERSONAL EXPERIANCE?
The biggest difference besides hardware is updates. Redmi devices usually only get one major update for example the note 4x was released with 6.0 and then got 7.0 but will never officially see anything higher. Although I don't find that a big issue because MIUI rom gets security updates and features from higher android version added. Also most devices get updated MIUI versions for example note 4x released with MIUI 8 then got 9 and now 10 is slowly becoming available. Also wifi hardware is subpar on redmi devices. Again I will use the note 4x for example. It does not have 802.11ac and using 802.11n you are capped at 150MB/s and 2.4 ghz band doesn't do 2 channel bonding unless you have root and edit the proper files.
Camera quality I can't really say much about. I am not a big picture taker and what I do take seems fine.
If you are concerned about radio bands then there really is only one choice. The MI Mix has pretty much every band you could ever want.

So REDMI get less Android uprades than MI series.
The LTE bands are slowly beginning to be a no issue as more and more devices get the whole Global LTE bands.
Redmi's or hongmi's are the low to mid-range smartphones and the MI's are the mid to high-range smartphones and flagships..
So go with the Mi's but phones like the Redmi 5 Plus, Redmi Note 5 Pro, the New Redmi 6 series and the old Redmi Note 4(Qualcomm) arent bad either.
Phones you got to avoid are the Redmi Y2/S2 due to terrible software decisions(it runs a 32-bit OS on a 64-bit CPU! like the old Redmi 2 series) and if you wanna develop for a device, avoid the Redmi Note 3(Qualcomm) due to the community being a little meh.

I've heard the exact same thing form a reliable source so it must be true what you're telling me about MI and REDMI in general.
Redmi Y2/S2 terrible software(?! software!?) specs is new to me.
It is disturbing tho causue Redmi S2 is a good phone on paper (perfANDstuff/price ratio) yet You tell me to watch out. This is bad.
Also Redmi Note 5 has probably (heard rumors) some issues, the most recurring one is with the camera mode - unfortunatly one user delivered the XDA community an info stating that it might not be a soft issue but a hardware issue (same error happens on stock and on custom rom).

It is new but due its software being 32-bit, you are not using it in full potential
Still you can build 64-bit LineageOS or port 64-bit MIUI from Redmi 6 Pro

That is what I wrote in the topic. I wrote there also my quesion(s). But thanks for participating
Hey everyone,
I just broke my S8 and need a "cheap" phone for a year until my contract is due.
I'm looking at xiaomi but am a bit lost on all the options. Lets start by what i'd like to get
- Sub 250$
- Either Stock Android or a decent Stock Rom
Thats about it. Other than that, the cheaper the better, though I'll pay for a decent display and RAM. Storage is secondary as is Batterylife.
So, Redmi Note 5, The Normal Redmi 6, Mi A2 or wait for the A2 Lite (when does that release anyways?) Or would you recommend looking at another Brand entirely?
Any input to help me decide is highly appreciated!
Redmi 6 has a mediatek processor, it´s 5,45" and a battery of 3.000mAH.
Mi A2 comes with a better processor SD 660, same size than Redmi Note 5 but a battery of 3.010mAH.
This device comes with a battery of 4.000mAH.
Redmi Note 5 with processor SD 636 (whyred) it´s the best option (for a minimal difference compared with this)
This forum it´s about Redmi 5 Plus (vince) that it could be confused with the other version but this device comes with SD 625 and other few differences. Both have a good hardware combined with a good software so you will have a good experience with any of both for less money.
Vince (Redmi 5 Plus/Note 5), and Whyred (Redmi Note 5 Pro) are decent, and have decent cameras.
Mido (Redmi Note 4X) is also decent, and is more mature in terms of stable custom ROM support - however, whether you get a good or dodgy camera sensor is pot luck. If you are into MIUI, then they are all equally well supported. I have both mido and vince. I prefer vince for the camera, and mido for everything else (especially custom ROM support).
If I were to choose again, it would have to be by the toss of a coin. So, I personally would get whichever of them I can find at the cheapest price (for the same specs). However, I would avoid the 3GB/16GB mido, even if storage is not a priority. I would also avoid any Xiaomi that has a Mediatek SoC (like the plague!).
The A2 or Redmi Note 5 Pro.
The A2 has Android One, Oreo and a better Snapdragon Chipset (660)/Adreno 512 but no MicroSD, no headphone jack and a 3000mAh (QC4) battery. It also has Type C and will get Android Pie.
The Redmi Note 5 Pro packs a 4000mAh (QC2) battery, jack, MicroSD and no type C. You'll get the slower Snapdragon 636/Adreno 509 instead though and it comes with Nougat instead of Oreo.
https://www.firstpost.com/tech/revi...dmi-note-5-pro-honor-play-better-4910821.html
You might want to research screen quality on both handsets. I read above that the Mi A2 has a dim display but this could be the above reviewer comparing it to higher-end displays.

Note 5 Indian (redmi 5 plus) is the one that comes with nougat.
Hello, so I broke the display of my Redmi Note 4X and it may seem like a stupid question, but I am unsure about whether I should buy a screen for a Note 4 or Note 4X, for the following reasons:
-In "About Phone", as well as on the original box, it says that my "Model Number" is Redmi Note 4X
-My android version is 6.0 MRA58K, as well as MIUI Global 10.2, which according to wikipedia(/Xiaomi Redmi Note 4) means I have a Note 4
-In "About Phone" it says that my CPU is the Mediatek Helio X20 Deca Core max 2.11Ghz, which is supposed to be the Redmi Note 4, because Note 4X runs on snapdragon 625.
-My GPU is Mali T880 according to CPU-Z. On wikipedia it says that only the Note 4 has this, and that the Note 4X has the Adreno 506.
-It says everywhere, that the Note 4 has screws on the bottom, on each side of charger, however mine doesn't (as it should be with Note 4X)
-I have read that the charging/notification light is on the left of the speaker for Note 4X, however mine is on the right just like with the Note 4.
So in conclusion, even though I technically have a Note 4X, I am unsure because some of my specs seem to indicate that I have a Note 4 and I don't wanna buy the wrong screen.
I am sure that some of you know more than me about this, and I would appreciate your help. Thanks
There is many chaos in your words.
The Redmi Note 4 (mido) has an Snapdragon 625 with 2016MHz and runs Android 7 with official miui.
This phone has adreno 506.
The notification led is top left.
There are no screws at the bottom of the phone
