Hey guys,
I have a redmi note 10 device & it hangs alot from a month.
I tried factory reset & i've de-bloated the native apps
Still the device seems to have hard time on daily usage.
I'm looking to flash a clean custom rom preferably pixel based
Can u guys suggest any stable ROMs you have tried or any precautions to be taken care of while proceeding?
Also a detailed procedure would mean alot to me
Thank alot

LineageOS (android 13) is the best right now in my opinion.
I suggest you watch this video to get a general idea on how to flash custom Roms for our device.
After picking which custom ROM you'd like to try, please read and understand the instructions for that specific custom ROM. This will save you from a lot of pain.
And if you are ever in doubt, post your questions on the thread for your chosen custom ROM.

If you want to stay close to stock as possible you should go with the CF-root method. Its pretty easy too.
Clockwork recovery is a custom recovery for your phone that enables you to do restoration, maintenance, installation, upgrades operations that your default recovery can't.
You should go for CyanogenMod 7.1 ROM and check it out as it seems to be the most stable mod around , plus it's updated regularly... Altough I would suggest you get a little bit more accustomed to your phone first...
i came across the Cyanogen Mod but it's just that with so much custom ROMs options i couldn't decide which is best

Once you flash your first custom ROM, you'll probably find yourself using it for about 2 or 3 hours then decide to flash an another one cuz you don't like it Just try a few of them and see which one suits you best. There are really some good ones out there , plus its fairly easy and fast to flash them. Good luck
thanks for the info.. i'll experiment a couple of custom ROMs to see what suits me best lol
I am totally new to android and heard about rooting , installing ROM on phone, so i have few ques regarding it, pls help me by giving brief explanations.....

1.Rooting is different from installing custom roms.
Rom is the android term for OS which is of many types.
Rooting is enabling ur device to access, edit & delete the rom components which include the built in applications to the codes that run the OS.
2. Stock roms are those which come along with ur device from the manufacturers which are usually called firmwares.
Custom roms are those which are developed by the android developers for the comfortability with many additional features! They are rated based on their performance, stability, userinterface, etc. The famous stable custom rom developing team is Cyanogenmod.
3. The are many methods for rooting and installing custom rom which are strictly based on ur phone model!
4. Rooting gives u further power! Custom roms gives u new experience in every aspect which means that the rules are bent for our comfortability!

Hello XDA,
Apologies if this doesn't belong here.
So I've been using a Redmi Note 4 for almost a month now(my first time using MIUI). Used to have a Motorola Moto G 3rd gen before this and used a Moto X(first gen) before that, so I'm used to stock android only. A lot of of my friends used to tell me MIUI is really good but tbh I'm not enjoying it at all. I much prefer the stock android experience.
I told all of these to a friend and he suggested that I try using a custom ROM. Problem is I have no idea where to even start as I'm an absolute noob about all these stuff.
So what I'm looking for is any guide/step by step instructions to installing custom ROMs for noobs like me.
Also if anyone can suggest me what ROM I should install to get closer to a stock android experience. It should be a stable build.
Thanks beforehand and apologies for the poor English, not my native language.
Hi!
First unlock bootloader (it takes 3 days because Xiaomi protection).
Then flash TWRP recovery and... Hmmm just watch this video
After that you can chose custom ROM the best one for you is LineageOS copy it to device's storage, wipe all phone data/dalvik through TWRP and install Lineage. Remember to do MIUI backup
Hi everyone, I want to use a Pie based ROM. Now I am using stock MIUI 9.6 Global bootloader unlocked. What would be the best procedure to flash a pie based ROM? And can I come back to MIUI if I want? What am I going to sacrifice if I flash treble ROM? I know It's a lot of questions but please try to answer it. Thanks in advance ?

If you have an unlocked bootloader, it's going to be easy. Install TWRP or OrangeFox Recovery. You will get the instructions in the respective pages of XDA. Then, take a complete backup of all partitions using TWRP/OrangeFox, back up the apps using Titanium Backup, and then get a ROM of your liking, and install it.
You are not going to sacrifice anything if you flash a treble ROM. You can revert to MIUI 10 at any point.
But do keep in mind that Android Pie ROMs are quite new and might have a bug or two.
Unlock Bootloader first
Flash twrp
Flash cusrom
Flash GApps
Flash Magisk (if you want to root)
Reboot

The posts above me has mentioned the method to flash custom treble ROM. In case you find any difficulty in flashing it, you can PM me. The procedure they mentioned are simple enough and the steps are user friendly. Take a recovery backup once you flash your custom ROM. You can come back to MIUI anytime you want.
I had flashed ROMs for various versions including Treble ROMs. In regards to selection of treble roms, you find whichever customisation features and options you like and select them.
I find MIUI to be stable enough for daily use. In case you are a flashaholic like me then you can try all the custom ROMs and check which is stable enough for your use.
I faced a major difficulty of signal instability with custom ROMs. Fyi I am in India and the network is JIO. I found too many blank spots and lesser signal quality. Apart from that the ROMs are fluid and fast enough.
Is it okay to install redmi note 4 roms on my redmi note 4x(sd)?

Snapdragon or mediatek?
If the soc are the same then yes, you can
I've seen some videos of people using the MiFlash Tool to downgrade from Miui 12 to Miui 11, Is this a safe method to follow? It seems simple enough compared to fiddling around with custom ROMs and recovery tools. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
unlock, flash a custom rom and you will be good for some more years.

I intend to update my phone soon and I don't want to start getting used to a new OS that's why I created this thread to see how safe it is to just roll back to a previous MIUI ROM.

Hi,
As the other user said above, it's better to use an up-to-date custom ROM for many reasons, like stability, performance, privacy, security and debloated.
You can check my POCO F1 Ultimate Collection & Guides to find out whatever you want.
