The customized chip for galaxy might also facilitate the much needed optimization of camera processing algorithms on the latest galaxy!
Going to upgrade from fold 4 to s23ultra hope they fixed all minor issues this time fingers crossed

Yeah, old wine in new bottle.
My analysis since S7.
S7 was an excellent phone
S8 - transition to Samsung Experience, overall good phone
S9- test phone for guinea pigs
s10 - awesome again (except battery)
S20 - Test phone
S21 - awesome
S22 - test phone- given avg chip performance
S23 - ?? hope to be awesome
S24 - test
s25 - Should be really good and bring in some innovations
Snapdragon 8 gen 2 will be manufactured by TSMC, so let's hope it is better than S22U.
If it provides better thermals and battery life than S22U, I will definitely consider upgrading.
What launch/prereserve offers can we expect with S23 ultra apart from vague wordings that Samsung already gave like 5k additional, early access, best exchange value etc? Any one knows if Samsung watch 5 coming for 2999? And any other exciting offers?
The unboxing video is out -

Exchange value of s22 ultra is just 50k including 8k bonus which when used we can't use 8k cashback credit card offer.. so exchange value is very bad.. I got 25K for my note 9 which was like 3 years old at the time of purchasing s22 ultra..
Cost is high, low exchange value and no cashback offer eligibility.. overall waste deal

Yeah, 50K exchange is ****. I got 20K for my 3.5 years old OP 6T with S22U last year. Looks like they are aware of the S22U issues and don't want to buy them back for hefty price.
I think we can get better resale value of at least around 60 to 70k in resale market if they don't drop s22 ultra prices much after this launch of s23 ultra at 1.25 lakhs
Insane pricing and unattractive offers...
Wow 50k buyback value for s22U is a joke
I am confused between getting battery replaced for my 3 year old S20 Plus or getting S23 Ultra? Any advice?
Also is anyone aware how to redeem pre-reserve pass benefits.
Quick impressions on the phone -
Samsung is using the same Ultrasonic Fingerprint Sensor from S21 and S22, that is the only bummer, everything else is a good upgrade. The screen looks more clear from up close compared to S22 Ultra. And 50 MP shots are fantastic. The bump in resolution is quite apparent. It takes a few seconds to save 50 MP files though. I just played with the phone for some time at a local retailer in Bangalore. They let me install the device info HW app (quick shared the apk from my phone) through which i checked the Fingerprint sensor. It is essentially the same one (QBT2608)

how about the battery and screen of this android phone?
have anyone bought it already?
I use Huawei P6, I do not play games, so the battery can use more than one day, but sometimes the screen unresponsive. One time I play games, three minutes later, the phone began to heat, heat dissipation is not very good, so now I don't play games.

Yeah, i just bought this phone one week ago and already got it yesterday (living in germany). I was not sure if it is a good idea to order a smartphone from china but i gave it a try because of the comments here. In addition to that, a friend of mine recommended this site to me. The phone looks nearly exact like the samsung galaxy s4 and its performance is amazing. The hardware is a bit slower than the s4 but it's still pretty fast. All i had to do was changing the language to german now i can use it as i did with my last smartphone. The only negative point so far is that on one side of the frame around the display, there's some space which should not be like that. I think im goin to put some glue there, then it'll be fine.I don't regret having bought this phone and can both recommend the store and the phone.
Ulefone P6+
I'm in the UK and have one too, got it just before new year (delivered within 4 days of ordering) as a replacement for Zopo ZP980 that smashed (rather easily I might add). P6+ is a much better fone albeit a lot bigger, 2 batteries supplied (2800mah) and 1 easily lasts me an entire day with light to moderate use including phone calls, messaging and some Appy Geek app surfing. Note style flip case with window that was also supplied is pretty good, it has hard plastic back, sides and corners that protect it to a degree although I have tested how much for obvious reasons. The fone gets a little warm when used for a while but nowhere near as hot as the ZP980 which felt like it was going to melt so heat dissipation is pretty good . Doesn't seem to have any updater software on it though so doubt if any firmware will be released for it. I haven't rooted it, primarily as there are no discussion threads other than this one so no development work done that I am aware of. I installed Apex launcher and the KitKat theme which looks and works pretty well but I'm sure a proper KitKat port would be better. If you want a big screen fone for less than £200 off contract, you cant go far wrong with this one, just wish someone would write a Rom for it. Hope this post helps anyone undecided about this particular dual sim Chinese fone.
https://bgr.com/2015/04/07/lg-g4-release-date-announcement-april-28th/
the g4 will be released on the 28th of this month, freaken excited to see what the specs are :laugh:
It will be announced 28th hopefully released shortly thereafter
lol i just bought 2 new lg g3s for the wife an I.
switching over from sgs3
oh well. i'm okay with being a rev behind.
i might do the same.lol. waiting.on the price
Earlier, when G4 rumors were just beginning, the G4 was going to have the Snapdragon 810. There were problems with doing that, since quantity availability of the 810 was not expected before Fall, 2015. Also, later, rumors of the 810 having serious heat dissipation problems came out. So, now instead of the 810 in the Fall, the G4 will ship with the 808 (?) or something, this summer ?
IMO, LG should be officially announcing the G4 before the S6 and M9 were/are available for purchase. Many people wait all winter for new phones to come out in the spring, and since they haven't heard anything from LG they may decide to bite the bullet and go with either the S6 or M9. I know I am.
Yea the decision to wait beyond the release of the other flagships really hurts LG sales IMO

Not really. A lot of people like me will be jumping ship from Samsung if the note follows the s series. No removable back or battery and no SD. I'll be seeing what the note does. Either note 5 or G4 for me
The snapdragon810 heating problems turns out was only rumours. The 810 does pretty good and with benchmark test shows little to no heating at all.

Just assumed 810/440 but 808/Hexa-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A57 & Adreno 418 will be good
No Gorilla 4??? According to GSMArena it will.
Leather will be deluxe too

After seeing the Facebook video about the g4, it isn't much different than our g3's. I see no reason to upgrade. I was gonna call big red and try their edge plan as I am in a contract and try and get the, g4 after 30 days. No point.... So it let's in more light for pics and has more vivid colors... No thanks, wife has the new s6 Edge and has some vivid colors thanks to the amoled screen. I put my g3 up to it and still prefer my screen as it looks more natural to me.
Also not a fan of the leather backing. I feel Samsung nailed it in the hardware this year while LG is lagging behind again. Was really wishing they'd step it up here, but it is what it is.
So more light in, vivid colors, leather backing.... Barely a better processor as it isn't the 810....
Just gonna keep rocking my g3.

I tend to agree that it's not an upgrade that I absolutely gotta have. That being said, if I won $500 on a scratch ticket or something, I'd probably buy it at full price. I'll be happy with my G3 for another year though. If you're still on G2, I'd say it's absolutely worth the upgrade!

I actually really like that they aren't increasing the screen size (I think 5.5" is perfect without being too large) and the fact there may be a stylus!

Its a decent phone, but it came out about the same time as the G3 so its not really a better phone. Larger battery and newer CPU, but everything else is a downgrade (capacitive buttons, smaller display, larger bezels, Mich worse camera, worse look IMO).

You are right, I am asking because I am still on the 14day policy and I am thinking about returning it for the G3, I am not a big Samsung fan. Thank you for responding.
I wouldn't mind getting that leather back for my G3

Are you serious? You think by buying components in drops of one. Then the Fw and sw to do everything the phone does will be cheap per than Samsung. Good luck with that one.

Good luck with that, the components alone will probably cost 50-100% more to buy without placing an order for several hundred thousand of each. It may only cost Samsung a fraction of the sales cost to build the phone but the spares market never reflects those lower costs. Then you have to assemble it, which according to the iFixit tear down / repairability score (3 out of 10) is not straightforward or easy.
I think the OP is thinking more of buying the motherboard, screen, battery and so in rather than purchasing individual diodes and capacitors.
Interesting idea? I may apply the same thinking to providing myself with a new Audi!

considering you want to "build your own" s6 edge.
...
2 options
From scratch:
1 billion dollars to open a semiconductor foundry to produce the chips and electronics.
You can also use the foundry to make the screen so lets just lump it in there.
Another 1 billion dollars for R&D to remake/reverse engineer processor design.
Ordering parts:
The problem here is buying parts and miniaturizing so that it would fit in the same form factor. For example you might be able to buy a 16 MP sensor, but you will pay a premium cause your buying 1 instead of a costco-lot. Next you have to find a 16 MP that has OIS or integrate it yourself. Eventually after buying and integrating and manufacturing what you can, it will probably be still too big to most people's standards. Cost: 1000$ estimate at best.
Your friendly neighborhood, Electrical Engineer. (while these aren't concrete numbers, final story is it cost a lot more than the sum of its parts)
I mean to source parts such as the PCB. Digitizer, display, Battery, Chassis, Camera Modules, etc, etc. No way was I referring to the internal circuitry, lol. Radioshack is long gone now. Haha

how is this thread still open!?!??
Hello,
so I need to ask: is there any good replacement for the P9000 at the moment? No one should know better than people on this forum I think
I was never that disappointed about the phone, sure GPS can be useless sometimes and the camera is not that great but that's not always the case and the rest is working fine.
It seems to me that there is no similar phone with the same specs at least in the same or similar price range (up to 400 €).
The reason why I'm asking is the issue that the P9000 is not able to dial emergency numbers with an SD card in use. It just ends the calls.
So when you need it the most it is of no help by not being able to perform the most simple task for a mobile phone.
I still like the phone. It has the right size (don't want a smaller - can't have a bigger one) and weight with great features (LTE bands, USB-C fast charge / Qi, NFT etc.).
Looking for alternatives there were always missing features or not the most trustworthy brands - just like Elephone lol.
For my own safety I will need a new phone soon if there is no other solution. So what's on the market right now that I should look for?

No LTE Band 20
Like you, I moved from the P9000 too, similar reasons, great little phone with too many niggles - give to my son in the end and he dont mind it, he likes fiddling with rooting, custom roms n alike
I bought my mates 6 month old OnePlus 3T, (which I realize is a bit of a price jump if you bought new) which again I will give my son when my upgrade is due in around 3 months. (altho this is a great buy for the price I think atm brand new, after all its only kinda 7 months since it was released)
The problem is (or probably a bonus) there are so many "mid range" phones out there and dependent whether you looking at Chinese brands or more mainstream. If Chinese, maybe look at the Xiaomi mid-range, they seem to get pretty good reviews generally. Thing with Chinese brands some are rubbish and some really great (like Meizu, Huawei etc) and pretty hard to choose which to go for.
Although my next upgrade will be more kinda mainstream (prob Samsung, Huawei or maybe new OP5) I usually note down what I'm after on the smart phone and then check whats available at the price point I'm working on, then I usually check as many unbiased reviews I can and also scan the XDA user forums to see what actual user feedback is like.
Thanks,
I would have nothing against going mainstream with a phone.
The Oneplus 3T seems to be nice but is limited to 64GB and is a little bit too pricy, also no wireless charging.
A little research got me to the Aquarius X Pro. Also no wireless charging (I could live with) and has a smaller screen but overall it is bigger in size and heavier than the
Elephone!
Seems like the P9000 is a rare species with no evolution. Great size for a 5.5"
The Aquarius X Pro looks a nice looking phone, nice price too. btw, I know Geekbuying have a kinda flash 75 hour sale (got email this morning with few mobiles listed) maybe check em out
I was also starting to look around, still unsure. I like the look of the Huawei Mate 9 but the overall size puts me off a little ( I done have large hands) so it will look stupidly large when I good it.
just an edit
BTW I dropped my P9000 and it is now useless what a coincidence.
I log into Amazon and see, that I bought this phone exactly on the 26th of June. And that is the day I broke the screen in half

I wouldn't hesitate a second and buy another one for now 200€. But the dialer thing is a no go and GPS reception often depends on luck.
I'm thinking about Honor 8 now but the glass backside is made for a disaster and I don't know about the EMUI thing.
The BQ seems to be too new to get a price drop. Bad luck with my timing I think
The two features of the P9000 that you will find hard to match are wireless charging and overall size. I haven't come across another reasonably priced 5.5" phone that's as small overall as the P9000 and wireless charging is rare in budget phones. But if these features aren't too important to you then there a dozens of phones to chose from.
A good place to start is kimovil.com - you can select the features that you want and get a list of available devices and prices.
I just bought a Redmi 4X for my son - only 5" and 720p, but an absolute bargain at $125 (now).

Yes, I can live without wireless charging although I got all the hardware and new cars are coming out with this function so I don't see why they can't implement that into more phones.
Size is a bigger problem. Seems like I have to go with 5.2 or less to match the overall size of the P9000. Too bad Elephone is a ****ty company that doesn't seem to care about a phone once it is released.

I just switched from P9000 to Redmi Note 4, WITH LTE Band 20, this week. Main reason: small Screen crack. So far everything fine, I just miss wireless charging.
Good luck, Redmi should be a good choice.
I am going to get a BQ phone, giving a non-chinese brand a shot.
I've been using the 10 Pro for 4 months now and like to change to this amazing 10T which has excellent specs compared to the 10 Pro!
Yeah, the Oneplus 10T has great specs so it is a good option for 10 Pro! I'm too getting this phone after the launch.
Its spec's beats the 10 Pro big time! Not sure about price point....
I think according to an unboxing video released today, the price is $700, but I am not 100% sure.

I just now searched for it and it is showing $899 which is a little high but I think the price would be reasonable! Let's see after the launch...
Pricing in NA according to the launch event: $650 for base 8/128, and $750 for 16/256. 16 gigs of ram seems pretty overkill, but good price either way imo. Also, if you pre order the phone in the next few days, the 16G version is $650.

I am looking into 10T too. They said the phone frame is made of plastic, and the screen is 1080P with flat glass, not sure of the screen manufactory yet now, but my 10 Pro has a beautiful curved screen from Samsung.
I am wondering the screen maybe not so good as my 10 Pro.

If you're wondering that you will get the same screen as 10 pro then don't buy it since oneplus decided to cut costs some places they didn't give this phone the screen most were expecting it to get other than that it's a nice device
Regarding the plastic frame, I don't think it should make that much of a difference since It doesn't fail to look amazing if that's what you're after
Personally I liked this phone very much it has its downsides but those don't bother me much again it's personal opinion so feel free to checkout in-store if possible if you're unsure

Yes, there are some adjustments but 10T looks sleek and fast to use. I used the phone at the event and it was really good! I ordered it and gave the 10 Pro to my brother...
The ONLY reason is if you prefer flat screen
The flat screen can last longer easily. But if you want to use phones for longer then you don't want to switch yet.

Yeah yah! Charging is just WOW for sure! I contemplated the 10 pro or the 10t. With the price, the charging and the latest Snapdragon I went with the 10t. I've been very happy with this phone so far.
I had the pixel 6A for 2 weeks before I got my 10t. That thing would overheat always. It wouldn't even charge it would be so hot with just general use. This phone stays nice and cool even under heavy loads.
Here's a screenshot of the pixel 6a with doing the same stuff I'm doing now on my 10t. Crazy hot!
