There seems to be no reliable information online about whether the Galaxy S23 Ultra supports dual frequency GNSS on the GPS or Galileo networks, can someone check please?
Screenshot from my current OnePlus 8 Pro using the GPSTest app shows the dual frequency as L1/L5 & E1/E5

Looks fine here
Works fine on SM-S918B/DS with CSC EUX. Receive L1/L5, E1/E5/E5a, B1/B1c/B2a ...
Thank you for your replies!
Samsung.com spec sheet doesn't mention it, and after some Googling one website reports that it was removed. After Samsung.com showing QZSS being removed, I was worried that they took this away too haha
Nice! Has the software stack been implemented to get that 10cm accuracy?

I don't know! That's why I asked!
Let me expand on that a bit- It is known that dual-frequency gps devices can achieve 10cm accuracy. Reading through Sean Barbeau's blog from many years back, the capability was added to android 10 (or was it 11?) but no apps had been updated to take advantage of that capability yet. That was a LONG time ago- I bought a galaxy S10+ on release day in anticipation of that, that's how long ago it was- but haven't seen much about it since. Now that it's time to finally replace that S10+, I was checking in to see if there's any progress and to potentially validate which new hardware I should get...

S10 US (Snapdragon) did no have dual freq GPS enabled. And the Exynos versions that did have it still didn't have software support for sub-meter accuracy. My mission now is to see that if the software accuracy is now increased in any S23 Snapdragon variants.
Hi all,
maybe I missed the answer...
Does S23 Ultra european version have dual frequency gps?
Moreover, can it record phone calls (in Europe) using default Samsung dialer or app Phone by Google?

1) According to Techspot the Alpha Sensor is the Galaxy S5 Sensor but the
Camera is at 12 Megapixels in firmware.
2) Same Size Sensor as S5 and look exactly like S5 pictures if S5 shot at 12 megapixel mode.
3) Curious if Camera Firmware from Samsung S5 could be flashed to Alpha so Camera would default to 16 megapixels instead of 12 ?
as I know camera sensor is same
coz I have this info from my phone ,but I dont know who can take this action for us

Thanks for confirming this.
Weird that Samsung intentionally at more expense clocked this Camera down to not equal or beat S5's Camera.
I would pay $ to have this Camera reclocked to proper 16 megapixel S5 specs if it could be done on Kitkat and no root.
Possible ?
Well if its possible then i woukd pay too.

Imho, even if the 16mp would be available I would still use 12mp, the photosize is already big enough as it is.

Its not about the size of the photo, if the phone can be unlocked or whatever to use the fullpotential ofnthe sensor than i would love to have that.

Yes the Details and light response would equal Galaxy S5 then.
If a Dev figures this out and it works I will pay
$ 50 via Paypal.

Wow
finally!! like i say it few month ago!!
It's BACK! Yes! Well, will see the true specs of the Note 8. If it has no 4k display or dual speakers, i ll get my note 7 back!
Too bad samsung only released it in their home country...talk about favouritism..guess they could care less about anyone who isnt Korean.
Thats BS...should be available to everyone direct from samsung.
Not cool.

that's really strange if Samsung doesnt sell NOTE 7 FE in other main markets such as Canada and USA. Think about it, what if:
1. someone bought it in South Korea and travel to N.America with it? Is this allowed?
2. People are selling it on ebay then there's no control of it unless they are blocking the IMEI like what they have done in Canada last year.
They should just restart the productinon of the note 7.
They should have released it with the s8 or along with note 8.
First Unboxing !!!!!

What is the situation on the CPU. One report suggests Samsung will use the Snapdragon 821 but the Korean version usually uses Exynos.

Hi,
I'm thinking of buying this smartphone but I would like to know if really it supports dual frequency for GPS (L1+L5) and Galileo (E1+E5a).
I'm very surprise that the review of this smartphone on the site Notebookcheck shows a screen capture of the application GPSTest where we see only one frequency for GPS and Galileo.
Can someone who owns this phone do a test with GPSTest and post a screen capture to confirm or not that the smartphone supports L1+L5 and E1+E5a frequencies ?
Thanks in advance ;-))
Looks like it supports L1/L5 + E1/E5a

Can you just tell me the version of your phone : RMX3301 (Global) or RMX3300 (Asian) ?
Rmx3300
Thank You.
I suppose there is no difference between this two versions in terms of GPS/Galileo...

Well, there is a difference, unfortunately only the Chinese version (Rmx3300) has dual band GPS, the global version and Europe do not have...
For me it is a big disappointment.
Maybe there is a way to activate the L5 band in Europe and in the global version.
If you know how to activate it in the RMX3301 (Global) version, tell me. I am very interested.

I use GPSTest and get this result (L5-GPS and E5a-Galileo are missing )
I have an RMX3301, it shows me only one band.
GPSTest - Apps on Google Play
The open-source GNSS/GPS app on Android
play.google.com
Same for me
Mine is Chinese device but with global ROM installed (India region)
No idea what that means.
These contributions are interesting, it seems to be a software problem of the global version, right? I asked Realme support, I'm waiting for an answer...

Yes, the contributor has a Chinese model RMX3300 (post 4) but it is unclear if he has a global or local software version
That's why I asked the user dick_vigarista because he originally had an RMX3300.
I found a way to enable dual band GPS on the global model and will post it soon. The catch is that you need Magisk and/or an unlocked bootloader.
Someone as receive the june update?
No one?

Recently I get my self a new POCO M4 Pro and I use this app call AIDA64 to check the specs
As per advertise, front camera is 65MP and front facing camera is 16MP
Yet from AIDA 64, I can see the front camera shows 16MP and front facing camera shows 4MP
I wonder am I reading it correctly?

Tested on my Xiaomi 12 pro, everything is wrong regarding the camera.
AIDA64 is quite a broad brush tool supporting many different types of device, and as such it does make mistakes. The most striking example of this that I've seen is the app detecting a camera in an Android TV that doesn't have one. You can report mistakes through the app and the developers will check and correct them.
is there any alternative app like AIDA64 that allow me to check the device?

Please read this:
If the number of megapixels indicated is wrong, it means that the manufacturer of your device has restricted access to the camera for third-party applications. Likewise, even if your device has multiple cameras on one side, Android OS identifies them as a single camera for that side.

To expand on NOSS8's answer, no there isn't. Are you concerned that you have a counterfeit device or that Poco are lying to you? If it's the former, there are surely easier ways to determine that, and if the latter then you'll probably have to meticulously disassemble your phone.

I bought from official store, as far I check the Imei no at mi.com, it is a genuine product.
I believe is not counterfeit device.
I also tested my previous phone, Redmi Note 8, and the camera shows at AIDA64 is exact Megapixel per actual specs. as well as checking my last 2 phone, Huawei P10 lite, as accurate per actual specs.
I just curious why Poco M4 Pro Camera specs as above screen shot, not as accurate as actual specs.
