Moto one action Android corrupt - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My Moto one action switched off due to low battery 2 days ago and is showing the message when I turn it on
-Android system corrupt .Do a factory reset to turn on phone
But I want my data badly what can I do to safe my data can reflashong the firmware preserve the phone's data or is there a way to restore data after factory reset PLZZ HELPP IM IN BIG TROUBLE I GUESS

Wipe data/factory reset will delete all applications, app data, and information (documents, videos, images, music, etc) stored in the internal space. However, wipe data/factory reset does not affect the SD card in any way. So, if you have a SD card inserted in the Android device while carrying out a factory reset, everything in the SD card will remain safe and intact.

But I do not have any SD card within it
There is a slot but my data is all in the phone

Deleting all folder on sd card

Just a noob question
What happens if I delete all the folders on my sd card, (not external sd card)
I assumed that every time i did a wipe the folders would go but I end up with folders of apps i deleted a while ago.
I guess you are wrong, my friend
Whenever i do a wipe data, wipe cache and wpe delvik cache and flash a custom rom. Soon after 1st boot, if i go and check "My files", i can find the apps folders still there. i think its not getting removed at all. So even i am curious and have asked in 1 of the thread about this. need to get a reply.will update here as well. I actually want to remove all the folders etc when i flash a WIPE ROM. but just by doing wipe data, app folders are not getting deleted from internal card.Maybe we nned to system format in CWM. But i have doubt if root also will get removed or something. Then we cant flash any ROMS at all. If you find out about this, do post.
Thanks
Format sd card wipes all data on the card and means phone no longer boots .
Far easier to just delete the files you don't want via USB mass storage /
Wipe is wiping system and data not sd card .

[Q] Quick question re: factory reset

I'm not too familiar with factory reset on devices with an internal SD card like the prime has it. Will a factory reset erase my sdcard contents (ie files, movies)? Also, am I wrong to assume I'll lose root?
Thanks!
Factory reset will only wipe user's data. It does not effect the ROM itself so no you will not lose root

factory reset

First, ....... Is factory reset the same as factory data reset. Second, in that same screen is ''automatic restore". What exactly does that do. I read the little sentence it says below it, but it's not clear to me. And lastly, if I do a factory reset, will I loose all my apps. I have a few costly ones. One in particular is slingplayer ( 30-35 bucks). thanks people.
I will answer your last question since I have sling player from the market too. No, the play store remembers your purchase. It is recorded against your logon credentials.

Factory (data) reset means your phone will be wiped of all user data' and the internal sd card is formatted.
Apps, passwords, icons, ringtones, etc. will be replaced with whatever is stock for that rom version.
If you accidentally deleted a system app, factory reset can't repair it. You would have to flash the rom again.

What if I saved what ever I could to the sd card and then pulled the sd card out of the phone before I did the factory reset. Am I thinking logically??? do people do this???
The factory reset doesn't mess with the external sd card, so anything you move there is safe.

[Q] Need to recover photos from SGSII in Bootloop

Hello everyone,
I have been having major issues with my phone as of late and havent had the time to address them. Until I absolutely had to today.
Recently my phone has been intermittently force closing every open app (including sys apps) until a reboot stops the process.
Today my phone rebooted into a boot-loop and I have been trying to gain access to photos on my internal memory for most of the day.
I have access to CWM and download mode.
I have tried mounting the usb in CWM to no avail. "unable to open ums lunfile" error.
I have tried reflashing the current ROM I am using (AOKP)
I have tried accessing the files and transfering them to my microSD using Aroma file manager but it can't seem to access my internal storage.
Can anyone suggest a way to access the photos on my internal storage so I can back them up to either my computer or my microSD?
After that I am fine wiping it and starting all over.
Thanks!
When you do a full wipe, basically Wipe data/Factory Reset, Wipe Cache and Wipe Dalvik cache, only the rom will be deleted. Your internal (and external) memory won't be touched, so you won't loose your photo's, music or anything like that. Just flash a new rom after the wipe.
However, if you haven't backed up anything with Titanium Backup, you will loose your apps, but I think your files are more important than apps are

Thank you for the quick advice! I ended up trusting it and wiping from recovery. Photos stayed intact and I backed them up and proceeded to wipe.

Question: Custom rom to reset internal storage via safe mode?

Since factory data reset through safe mode doesn't reset the internal storage/phone storage of the phone, and my phone hangs on boot screen, I'm asking if there's a rom that can be installed from sd card to reset the internal storage of the phone.
I've tried many ways: safe mode and taking off battery and plugged etc but it still hangs on boot.
My phone model is Lenovo A369i and is rooted. And I'm asking for this rom cause I suspect it can't startup because my internal storage is actually full.
