So my friends phone is stuck at the account verification screen after a factory reset. The owner isn't tech savvy so he asked someone to setup a google playstore account for him. So when there was problem with the phone and the screen blacked out I factory reset the phone. Everything came back but he doesn't know the google account that was used so now it's stuck during setup. Note the japanese keyboard trick doesn't work on this model cause it's not the same one in the tutorials there's no keyboard settings to view the privacy policy but I was able to get to the dialpad by viewing the motorola privacy policy at the user agreement screen and following the same instruction. My issue is that the test mode code *#*#4636#*#* doesn't bring up the test menu so I can't get to the settings to enable ADB debugging. Is there an alternative dialing sequence for this model? The other thing I wanted to try was to flash a different stock rom on this and maybe the dial sequence would work there. Other people had success doing that on other phones. So is it possible to flash a stock rom from say a xt1527 to the xt1528. My idea is even if the rom is buggy once I can get through the account verification to remove the google account I can re-flash the stock rom for the xt1528 back.
Can't flash a different ROM. The XT1528 has a locked bootloader.

thanks, I was hoping that since the hardware was the same it would accept a stock rom from another carrier without the need to unlock the bootloader.

I have tried many methods circulating online, but nothing works. At least I could open :
Maps
Youtube
Verizon Messages
Bluetooth (only pairing devices)
Chrome
Camera + gallery & dialer (via lockscreen)

Same here. I got a FRP locked xt1528 given to me. After wrestling with all known methods I could find, I finally reached the realization that I couldn't pull it off. I parted the device out on eBay. I'll give credit where credit is due. That's the most rock-solid FRP I've ever encountered. I bypassed a new Galaxy s7 in only a few days. That was child's play in comparison to the xt1528.

sounds like i got further along than you guys.
I was able to able to get into the settings on an frp locked xt1528. But I was still unable to bypass frp. Tapping on build did not enable debug. factory reset was greyed out. I was able to enable unknown sources and use chrome to download apks then launched the downloads gui to access the download folder then i tried to install the apks from the download folder but the install button was disabled so all i could do was cancel the install. Its locked up real tight.
I tried disabling setup but that didn't help.
update:
I was able to to get around the disabled next/install button and launched gsf.login to try the browser sign in but it doesn't sign in to google and keeps giving me the error : "there was a problem communicating with google servers ...". then I tried to take over with test dpc but it did not give the option to take ownership of the device but it has option for work profile. I added a work profile and i tried to add a work email and there was no message that the device was reset but the gmail account was not added because of the google servers error. I am hoping to add a tutorial once i succeed. Also factory reset needs root to be launched.
update 2
I managed to unblock the factory data reset in the menu but the phone was still frp locked after resetting through the menu.
Any suggestions?
update 3
I fully bypassed the frp and added a google account. I'll post a tutorial when I can.

Hello XDA, I've been wanting to root my S6 for a while now, and i think you can do it with adb. So when trying this i noticed i needed an unlocked bootloader, and i thought i had it because i had CRom service on my S6, but never opened it. When i did, it just crashed. Now, i'm not sure if I can just use
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
or i need something else. I'm on Mac so i am very, very limited. I at least can get adb to work. If i can use adb and or fastboot to unlock my device's bootloader (without messing DM Verity) then please tell me right away.

What variant s6 do you have?
Go to Settings - About Device - Build number. Tap on that repeatedly until you see that Developer Options has been enabled.
Go back to Settings. You will now see a new entry called Developer options. Tap on that.
Under Developer options you will see OEM Unlock. Switch that to On.
And you are done! Just that easy!

It's not that easy, the option is called "Allow OEM unlocking" which I already have turned on. All that option does is allow the bootloader to be unlocked.

What version android are you on, btw the user previous is correct, once you use OEM unlock all you need to do is flash cf-autoroot, OEM unlock make sure that after rooting the phone does not trip frp and just lock you out of your device.

Ok, I'm on 6.0.1 (Y is Samsung so slow when releasing updates) and a quick reminder: I'm on Mac, how am I supposed to flash CF-autoroot?
And I got confused by "make sure after rootingthe phone does not trip frp and just lock out of your device" Do you mean to be careful not to brick my device?

FRP is factory reset protection, if you don't allow OEM unlock when after you have carried out root and try to log into phone again you won't be able to do so, it's a security feature, frp is very tricky and it's important you make sure you have OEM unlock enabled before trying to do anything. You can use a software called heimdall which is similar to Odin and can be downloaded for mac. Yeah samsung always rolls out updates for international before anything else, just how they work. Before doing anything I highly advise you to visit the g920t forums, you will get more info there than you will here on the international forum. I hope you manage to get things done

Thanks for pointing that out. I don't know why I expect people to be grateful on XDA, just because someone tries to help them.
Using a Mac, you flash files using Heimdall: http://glassechidna.com.au/heimdall/
Ok so I think I'm good to go:
I attached some screenshots checking if everything is correct. Also, is http://glassechidna.com.au/heimdall/ the correct and official site to get Heimdall? And my device's build is G920TUES5DQD1 which was released a few days ago, and I'm not sure if the CF auto root file was based on an earlier update. Will I still be able to use it?
is g920v bootloader unlockable?
is it possible to downgrade thanks to this oem unlock?

As far as I know, and what has been the fact since the release of the 920V, there's has been no known case where the bootloader has been unlocked. Due to Verizon's restrictions, the S6 is hardlocked. The only way that it might ever be unlocked is if someone reverse engineers the bootloader software, creating an unlocked version that can be flashed, and that will still pass the phone's security checks. I wouldn't hold your breath for it though, because it's been 3 years and no solution yet.
i had same issues

Most Samsung phones are unlocked, Only a small percentage of Samsung phones has locked bootloaders. Just pop a different carrier SIM and make sure it works, If different sims work then your device has an unlocked bootloader.

That is incorrect, what you are referring to is carrier locked. and is done to most phones sold in the US. Most can be unlocked once fully paid for and after 90 days of service.
Bootloader lock has nothing to do with sim cards at ALL!! It does have everything to do with being able to install other roms and firmware via non official sources.

Hello to you super techs I'm a newbie to this hope i'm not posting out of place but my question is how do I set up my Windows PC with ADB to use ADB fastboot unlock to unlock my bootloader because FRP protection has me locked out of the phone and I can't use the build number 2 unlock OEM or is that even possible I have been searching the web and XDA 2 try and find a way to open this phone I bought for myself for Christmas not knowing anything about a phone being FRP locked to a Google account is it possible to unlock this phone so that I can Flash it and maybe be able to use it I checked the IMEI number and it comes back good so say Sprint customer service but they couldn't help me with the FRP because I bought the phone second hand could you guys please point me in the right direction if I'm in the wrong spot posting my apologies to the thread host
I got this phone from a friend who also got it from a friend and its FRP locked. I have ODIN and I have not been able to find any firmware for this device. I seen some paid for but it looks risky. Any details on that? I would take it to stores but they will do nothing except a select few that I'm not trying to venture to. Obviously this is newer OS and stuff so I think it may require a bit more than just firmware, I keep hearing about some bootfile that looks different than the .md5 file or whatever it was... any help? Ive been able to get a quick settings app on it and i can get into settings but not developer options, I can't seem to disable google play services to bypass it, no successful root apps, running android marshmallow ?????

Hi bro.
Sorry to hear about the problem. I know the hassles of getting phones from someone else. You're not to clear on your problem. I assume you cant get into settings and therefor you had to download a 3rd party quick settings app. If possible go to settings and then "About". Look for "Software Info". There tap on the build number until you see a notification stating you are now a developer. Go back to main settings screen and developer options should be listed at the bottom. In developer options there should be an option for "OEM Unlock", turn it on and tr flashing again. If this is not possible try searching the settings for "Re-Activation Lock" and turn it off. Insert your password when promted and try again. If all this is not possible or fails then try Samsung Tool Pro. I cant post the link but just google D3X Samsung Tool Pro with loader. This tool is helpful for unlocking and bypassing FRP as well as flashing firmware, recovery's etc.
Feel free to ask for help
I used Nova for a forced launched homescreen and got into the settings that isn't the hard part. The hard part is the OEM Unlock. Been trying that build number a million times hoping something would do different and no sucess. I already have ODIN and Pro Tools but even they don't have the SM-S327VL firmware to fix this. I was thinking about re-partitioning it with odin... I know it's risky but if I brick it I would have to wait for the firmware anyway?. I cant flash a thing without any firmware. So far I haven't been able to find it on the samsung website or any others. I seen some that wanted money for them but I don't trust it. Can anyone confirm any? HhEeLlPp???
Finally disabled all google apps but I can't get rid of Knox
Frp bypass
I unlocked my phone on my own. I used an app called Test DCP and it became a device owner and then I restarted my phone and it was done. Good app????

Hi there!
I found an LG G6 with cracked screen in the trash. There was no SIM-Card and no SD-Card in there, but it still seems to work. It has encrypted userdata so I couldn't boot it to see if there's any contact info displayed.
I found I could factory reset the phone by getting into the stock recovery and switching to yes two times.
Now it boots but it will not allow me to enter the phone without giving it an internet connection and logging in with a previously used google account. Since I found this phone and was not able to find out who the previous owner was I of course do not have a google account that was used on the phone previously.
I also booted into fastboot but can't do anything because the bootloader is locked, and it of course was not left by the previous owner with the developer option to allow for unlocking set.
Is there some way to get this phone operational again so it can be used for something more than spare parts (minus the main-board)?
Thank you!
Why dont you flash kdz file? From lg-firware. Com . Oh wait if you cant see imei if you cant get inside phone...
Ah, that's an idea, I will try that. Thank you for the tip. Unsure if a stock ROM flash will reset that google account lock, but I guess it doesn't hurt to try.

Does it work?
Sadly, no. I tried a few of the LG Tools.
"LG Mobile Support Tool" could connect and told me there is an update available and I should use "LG Bridge" to install that.
"LG Bridge" won't connect because it tells me it requires an MTP connection and I need to allow acccess to "telefon data" if Android 6 or later is installed (which quite certainly is).
Since the phone doesn't let me in (only shows me the first setup wizard which I can't pass without the google account of the previous owner) I can't enable file sharing or accept any requested permissions.
UPDATE: Ah, now I found an "correct update problems" button in "LG Bridge", with this he started downloading 3.28GB worth of firmware, let's see whether he will manage to flash that after downloading it and if so if that does remove the google account lock.
UPDATE2: So I've researched a bit more and found that what my problem is (phone locked to previous google account) is called "FRP Lock" = Factory Reset Protection.
There are a few guides that show how you can use the accesibility feature talkback to get to youtube which allows you to open chrome which allows you to open the phone app. This allowed me to get my IMEI using the *#06# code.
But so far I could not find a phone app code that opens a service menu on this LG G6 H870 which would be required to follow the FRP guides further.
UPDATE3: haha yes the "correct update problems" procedure from "LG Bridge" updated to a newer firmware while leaving my wifi config I've entered during the UPDATE2 step but removing the "FRP Lock".

The "correct update problems" button in "LG Bridge" did the trick.
The stuff I've described in the "UPDATE2" block was just what I was trying while waiting for the huge download to finish, but it didn't lead to anything. Though it did allow me to get the IMEI by giving me access to youtube, chrome & the phone app.

Has anyone had difficulty bypassing from due to being unable to update YouTube? That's the issue I've been having
Hello! So I am on a journey to attempt to root a Samsung tab a7 lite sm-t227u. So I want to be extremely transparent as to my reason for rooting:
I was given this tablet by my father whom got it from a previous job. When he left the job they never asked for it back, a long with a good bit of supplies he had that he got to keep.
So, I have this tablet, I can get into it as it doesn't have a passcode. I have wiped it by factory reset as well. However, it has IBM's MAAS360 installed and after factory reset AND a firmware flash using odin I still cannot get rid of this maas360 mdm. It is not Knox locked. I can activate developer mode and change all those settings, but I cannot download any apps through the app store at all or enable unknown source app install as those are under an IT block. I also do not have the OEM unlock option in dev options. I've tried the whole changing the date and connecting to wifi, with and without sim card but I cannot get this option to show, nor can I unlock the bootload through fastboot.
I have read that most of the new samsung phones do not have a bootloader unlock option, but from what I can tell that is specific to the snapdragon phones, and this tablet is running a mediatek chip.
Now, if I can remove mdm restrictions without rooting that's great, but I have a feeling that is the only way to properly flash this thing to completely remove the mdm.
I have tried the recovery tar that is posted in this forum but I cannot get it to flash, likely because I still don't have an unlocked bootloader
Have any of you all faced something similar or know of a solution? I may call the company the mdm is managed by and just see if they will remove it from their system, but I find it highly unlikely.
SM-T227U is an American model wich doesn't have the OEM unlocking option, you could unlock using unofficial ways but those are not pretty "stable".

Hey man! Still got your tab 7? I also have a SM-T227U and have oem unlocked! After doing the usual stuff, you will want to turn off automatically update in developer settings. After that, go to settings>General management>Date and time and select manual time and date, and set it for exactly 10 days before the day you attempt this. OEM unlock will appear in dev settings!!!
Then turn off device and while holding power up + power down, plug into PC. It will show the pre-download mode screen where it asks if you want to continue. Just follow the on screen instructions to unlock bootloader!
*note that the bootloader unlocking results in an unavoidable factory reset**

Sweet! I will absolutely try this when I get home this afternoon, will report back with results!
But just for clarity. Let's say I start with a freshly wiped tablet. Go through set up and connect to wifi, do I need to add a Google and Samsung account? Then in dev settings, enable USB debugging, also enable wifi debugging? Then change the date. Is there any step I am missing?

If it has Mediatek chipset then you can use SP flash tool to format the tablet firmware and reflash it.
I would strongly recommend you to backup the NV DATA and NVRAM files before you format the tablet.

You can follow this guide actually! ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...220-t225-install-lsposed-magisk-mods.4406933/) it recommends just skipping the setup junk
I have found that many times, rooting methods work across different models of the same device unless there are some sort of major differences in chipsets or some sort of random change lol
The only thing that doesn't seem to work for our model is section V of the guide which is for the removal of the "bootloader is unlocked" screen at startup. so you will still need to press the power button on that screen to boot up. It's a tiny hassle, but otherwise no big deal in my personal opinion
Make sure to read all the way to the end of the root section (section 4) and especially remember step 7. I retried probably 4 times and even patched the entire AP file of the firmware for use in odin (doing this gives a second warning on Knox screen that it isn't samsung official fw then boots normally into the bootlogo screen) before realizing everything was going fine.. I recommend just using the patched Magisk boot.img first just because I find it unsightly
Just flash the boot.tar in the AP slot. Don't download any of the boot imgs from the guide because they are for the t220's and t225's. I'll link the one I made according to the guide below. It'll save you some time and you won't need to install zarchiver and Magick just to have it factory reset again lol. Just download the latest Magisk apk (26.1) from the official github (https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases) and install it when you have completed the 2nd factory reset/the patched boot img install.
