Question How is your battery life? - OnePlus 10T 5G

Hi guys!
I am looking to replace my Galaxy S22 Exynos model and was thinking about getting the Oneplus 10T.
While I have read that it has amazing battery life with fast charging, I have also read a lot of users saying the OOS13 update completely killed the battery for them.
How are your experiences? I can get a max of 5 hours of SOT with general usage, some navigation, chrome browsing, reddit, discord, instagram and tiktok with 5g and aod disabled. How much sot are you all getting on the android 13 update?

Runnig OS 12.1 battery life is great but doesn't concern me anyway as it charges in 5-10mins daily and is back to 100%
What does concern me and should concern potential buyers is the lack of unbricking tools of us owners!!

From 80% to 27%, usage 22h 54min, sot 5h

Yes. Web browsing, youtube, twitter, spotify. Those are the main apps.

CM12.1 Battery Thread

Hi everyone. Since a lot of us are using this ROM I thought it would be a good idea to compare battery life. Mine is quite bad right now and want to know if others are having better luck.
Can you please post
1. Gsam main screen
2. Gsam app usage
3. Android battery usage chart
Please use XDA attachments if you can so that the screenshots don't take up the whole page.
Here is mine, right now I struggle to get about 2.5 Hour SOT and phone barely lasts all day when it heats up it drops 20% sometimes in 15 mins of gaming
Mine was very bad before xposed modules. Now with amplify and greenify it last 4-5hrs with screen ON (watching videos, music or videogames) and the whole day if just use for chatting, some videos and mail.
Sorry, I don't use that app but will download it and post tomorrow my pictures.

No, default in amplify and some apps with constant updates like Facebook, Twitter, etc. In greenify.
You also need to consider screen brightness, I set mine near to 40%
I don't think I have a good battery life but a "normal" one... I feel good because without this xposed modules my phone battery was drained in 2hrs of SOT.

Good stats but you only have 6 hours of IDLE. I can easily get 4 hour SOT with 6 hours IDLE also. I am talking full day use. This phone battery is terrible in my opinion! This reviewer seems to have similar findings https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=amdaWd7oMCc
Agree, I tried several ROM's with various settings. This phone’s battery is a disappointment.
When using any Radio, especially 4G, draining is being substantially accelerated.
How do you get to 4 hours SOT?
My best effort so far with CM12.1. Still can't cross 3 hour SOT. Good idle time though, lasted for 24+ hours but turned WIFI off at night when I was sleeping.
My battery life isn't getting much better.

[Battery life thread] Post your Screenshots !

Hi guys post your battery usage here in this thread to compare and see how this device battery endurance is :good:
Not much SOT 2 hours still but I base battery life off of background things since that's how I use my phone the most. Pandora for an hour took some pictures at the pool watched some YouTube videos light web/Facebook browsing. I love the battery life on this phone.
Theres already a battery life thread on the real life review section..

Too each is their own. Coming from the Galaxy S7 to the V20 now the G6, the G6 hands down has the better battery life
Took some photos, browsed web, played a game for around 30mins, if not more, at 50% brightness, otherwise i have it on auto brightness. I usually get around 5 or 6 hrs of SOT so i think the battery life is pretty damn great.
Sot is the worst measurement for battery. I wish people would stop thinking it's the end all be all.. A lot of people use their phones listening to music or having navigation going with the screen off. A lot of things can be used with the screen off that will drain your battery. If the damn phone lasts as long as you need it to while doing the things you do, thats all that matters.

True, true.
That's exactly why there's such a huge difference of SOT between me and StonerSteve420., who uses a lot of background tasks .

Bad standby, due to the continuous switching of networks but far better than G5 here.

That's fair enough a statement but most people who measure SOT still use background stuff.
On my S8+ I get 8 hours SOT over 2 days, using Deezer, Netflix, Calls, whatsapp, facebook, camera. The G6 gets me up to 7 SOT. So it's still a valid measurement.

Exynos battery life

Hello all ,
I was about to buy an Exynos model and read somewhere on here that there was an update to fix battery life. Is this true and how much has it improved ?
Thanks
Personally I see much better battery life after the April security update. SOT gets about 6 hours of normal use.
i still haven't received the latest update, but my battery life is great
i get 8hrs of SOT
ARD 4 is latest firmware ?
From wich country ?
Tnx.

Latest security patch, i.e. 1st April 2018
Reading Anandtech article, exynos does not seem to be a good choice unfortunately. I have read all about it after my devices was shipped today, might return it.
I will tell u the truth, i have snapdragon and 5 hrs of SOT , since 1 month so the battery life is almost same
5-6h SOT with 2 days of usage between each charge. But depends heaviliy on your usage.

Thanks, this is not bad at all for an exynos. This is really odd as some users claim they get much less like 3 hours SOT and 16 hours standby. Are you on BER5 btw.? Thanks

Yes, i am. I also changed some settings of the device and disabled a lot of apps to save some power, but im not using a power saving mode. Standby drain is still a bit high though with 3-4% in 7h.

I'd like to know if you guys are using Facebook and Messenger apps. Tried it on a brand new unit without logging it in and the standby drain is less than 0.5% an hour. Installed those two because I actually need the Messenger (can't seem to greenify Facebook) and my standby drain is like 2% per hour.

Nope, i do not use Facebook at all, only Whatsapp and Telegram. Facebook is known to be a battery killer. But i think there are official lite apps which significally reduce the power drain.

Recharging the G965F(exynos dual sim) every evening at 7,8 PM after unplugging in the morning at 6,7 AM.
AOD , gallery syncing, nearby device scanning, cloud based services, find my mobile service, NFC off. Wifi power saving on, 5 Sammy blaotwares disabled , no game playing , most appkications are in sleeping mode, no battery hogging app and I'm just a light to moderate user with 90 % wifi connection.
4 to 5 hours sot and 13,14 or maximum 15 hours it lasts. Experienced other top of the line phones with better battery life.

With Messenger you mean the Facebook Messenger? Well no facebook, no friends at facebook to chat with .
I just dont like this company at all. The idea behind it is really cool, keeping people connected. But what they do with your data isnt. Not a tiny bit.
And if the trend goes on, WhatsApp will also be uninstalled someday. But this would be hard, since nearly no one uses an alternative messenger.
Whatsapp does the job for me and its much easier on the battery.
But back to the topic: Have you tried this Lite app?
Should be less stressfull for your battery.

Sounds a lot like my usage, also the settings you have done. Did you also disable 4G active while on Wifi? Its hidden in the developer settings.
Otherwise im currently ~32,5h off the charger with 42% left. My screen usage is at 2h 22min, so maybe 4,5h overall in this run. But its not too bad cause of the overall runtime, as standby also drains the battery.
If im pushing the battery more without trying to achieve 2 days i have no problem getting to 6h of SOT.

That sounds very similar to another poster here who is also having issues with dual sim battery drain. He also made the same comment about having better battery life with other "top of the line" phones. Interestingly, I thought you posted a screenshot of 8+ hours SOT with the exynos recently (and 15+ hours SOT with the snapdragon). So I suppose those figures weren't a good reflection of your "average" SOT? As now you're mentioning only half that SOT, despite quite a few tweaks too.
Question - it sounds like you have around 9-10 hours where you're not actively using the phone during a typical discharge cycle. Do you have a sense of what your hourly standby drain is (I asked the same question of the other person having issues and I think he mentioned about 1% or less drain per hour)? A good way of observing it is leaving the phone uncharged overnight. I'm just curious as to whether your relatively poor battery life is mainly due to excessive standby drain or excessive drain despite only doing light-moderate tasks. I ask this because, in my experience (and also with people like Galaxo60) and demonstrated in numerous battery drain video tests, heavy use (eg. GPS navigation with high accuracy) tends to drain the battery by around 10-15% per hour and very heavy use (complex games, video calling) tends to drain the battery by 15-20% per hour.
Assuming a standby drain of 1% per hour (which is on the high side with AOD disabled and a good wifi connection), you can see that even if you played a complex game for 2 hours (40%), then an hour later (1%) you did a video call for an hour (20%), then an hour later (1%) you spent 2 hours navigating Maps with GPS on high accuracy (30%), and then you went to sleep for 6 hours (6%), your battery would be down to about 2% over a total of 13 hours on battery with 5 hours SOT. I'm probably giving the high side of the estimated battery drain in each task too. And this should be without any significant tweaking (based on my experience, and unless those video tests forget to mention tweaking etc). It sounds like you don't do any of these heavy or very heavy tasks, and therefore your SOT should be more like 6-7 hours over 20 hours or so (just a rough guess to make the point).
So assuming your hourly standby drain is also around 1%, then the only thing I can think of is an app that you're using or a task that you're doing (or some specific combination of apps/tasks that exynos doesn't like?) that is draining the battery more than it should. Or throwing in a wild speculation, somehow there's a built-in kernel backdoor that activates while your screen is on and is secretly doing something that drains your battery more hehe (and of course doesn't show up in any battery stats).
I know the occasional poster has also mentioned having only 1-3 hours SOT, so you're not having the worst reported SOT I suppose. It would be interesting to know what the hourly standby drain for those people etc is too.

Where have you seen me posting 8+ hours with the exynos? It was of 6 hours and 50 minutes in the "screen on time" thread achieved when additional battery saving steps like bk package disabler disabling huge chunk of services and apps and keeping location in power saving mode. (bk no more working as it's removed from playstore and I went for factory reset after BRE5 update)
4 to 5 is the average sot with 13, 14 hours with few battery saving steps. No wakelocks no battery hogging applications.

Question Battery drain ?

What's your experience on the battery life?
I fully charged it and it got from 100% to 94% in 11 hours in complete idle mode with wifi and location services on. Is that normal?
I think 6% in 11 hours in idle is normal.

Hi, i have 35° watching youtube. Faceboook app is not installed in my phone.
I think 39° isn't alarming temperature.
Your drain in 11 hours is normal I think. What I've noticed is that on the battery page there is always Android System consuming a lot of battery, almost like Screen. Is that happening for you too?

General Battery life thread

There is a battery thread in P6 Pro section, but we don't have an equivalent here, so...
How's your battery on regular Pixel 6? Can't post any data from my side, as it's still being dispatched....
with my normal phone usage I am ending up with about 30-40% at the end of the day. With my Pixel 5a I still got about 60% juice. I cannot complain. I've seen wild differences on youtube from others (both good and terrible).
My battery life seems to be just fine.
Mine seems fine, it's been idle more than anything and it'll probably be that way since I try not to use it too much. When I'm at work I can't really use my phone anyway, so I expect battery life to be strong.
I also have a battery app that monitors usage and health of the battery if anyone is interested.

Yes I am. I only charged it once to 100 even though I know that's not good, but for first time I think it's ok.
I'm not sure i have enough stats to show since I've only used the app once to charge, but happy to share whatever info you need. Just let me know which screen to grab and I'll post.
comparison. Over 8 hours is pretty good.
I guess I can't complain.
Im getting about 9 hours of SOT. Using accubattery and this is while using youtube TV along with bluetooth (not using battery saver at all). The battery life is great on the pixel 6 pro and its a bit better than my s21 ultra.
proof
I'm guessing my stats are good? Idk where it got 4 sessions over the last 4 days from, but I installed the app yesterday and had it charged at 100% around 3PM. From then on I would use it randomly, mainly using chat through IM apps. I haven't done anything super battery heavy yet. I'm at 8% as I sit and write this...
Dayum. That's some iphone 13 pro max stats there lol.
It all depends on the connectivity, e.g. @android_dan is using 5G which is battery hungry, and also network reception is really low here.

Even on 5G I have no complaints about battery life. I'm getting up at 4:30 am and going to bed at 10:30 pm with 20-30% battery. We've had some weather delays so I've been on the phone a lot throughout the day. No complaints here.
So I am using my P6 for 3 days and battery life is amazing when screen is on (I can get like 12 hour of sot if I would spend all day looking at my phone), but idle usage is pretty high for me - getting like 3-4% per hour while screen off on LTE, 2g disabled, AoD disabled.
Is anyone experiencing the same? Or maybe I still need to wait for Adaptive Battery's magic?

I get 5% drop over night while I'm sleeping and connected to wifi. All apps closed in the background. I don't think that's too bad in my case. Definitely let things "settle" after the first few days of use. I've seen lots of improvement in battery after having the phone for a week.
I tend to get thru a whole day no problem! I turned network preferences to LTE cuz my area doesn't have great 5g and I don't find it slow at all. And I'm on wifi most of the time anyway. At the end of the day I have somewhere between 7-9 hours SOT which is amazing! I watch lots of YouTube videos and listen to music throughout the day. Hope this helps!
for me, the battery is a tragedy, it drops in my eyes, I was able to get a maximum of 4h sot. On average, I have 2.5 to 3.5 hours of sot. I have a recommended 4G network set. I use 2 sim.
