Hi
How to copy to S23 all programs from S22, without data and cache from these programs?
How to copy a secure folder?
Many thanks,
BaGRoS
You can use Samsung Smart Switch, but if you cannot want data you need to go un App menu after restore and make clear data for each application you want clean
The data is not transferred by smart switch, you still gonna need to re sign in and reconfig each app after transfer. But at least you wont need to reinstall app one by one

Oh, then probably it retain some data from samsung to samsung. I moved from sharp to samsung using smartswitch, and only my apps and media actually moved. All app data is gone
Maybe.
My Samsung transferred all data which I don't want, and zero data like secure folder which I want.

Hi!
I'm gonna submit my Samsung Galaxy S2 back to the company where i bought it from because it is not possible to call with it (people hear me very bad and it echoes for them). I have NOT rooted my phone. Is there a FREE backup app that I can take backup of all contacts, messages, apps, games, any settings, etc? And then save it on your computer or something, so if I get a new Samsung Galaxy S2, i can have everything back.
Thanks!
My backup root can back everything up, needs root though.
Contacts = your taking the piss right??
games = you can just re-install them, tied to your account
messages = http://www.galaxys2forums.com/samsu...ransfer-sms-from-android-to-computer/new/#new
mybackup and sprite back up "apparently " can without root

For backing up your contacts, you can use your Google account or even Kies. Similarly, your Google account may restore your apps (fresh install), depending on your settings for your account (Back up apps and data enabled?). Nevertheless, this only restores apps directly downloaded from the market (non-backed up). You'll need to copy the folders in which your game data is stored (e.g. "gameloft" in your sd card), as restoring the app will not keep that data. Just copy the whole directory to your computer. Allright, thank you very much! If i copy the gameloft folder to my desktop and then put it on the new phone. Will they be installed directly?
For SMS I would recommend SMS backup+
would be good if google backed up app data to the cloud as well in case of a reinstall when moving phones

Yes and no! You'll need to download the game app (about 3mb) (but not the full game) again. But for all the data which is part of the game (about 300mb) you can simply copy the folder. If you have a paid full version, you not need do do anything else (at least for gameloft games). You don't even need to backup the game app, as you'll be able to download the trial version again. After pasting the copied "gameloft" folder back on your phone, the trial version will become a full version automatically.
Just be carefull to enable "USB Utilities" on "Wireless and Network" settings before copying, otherwise you'll risk copying an empty folder.

Aight, so first i copy it to the computer. Then on the new phone, i download "game app" from the.market. Then copy the folder.
Exactly.
However, I was just wondering... The only thing is that I did it many times but with the same phone (i.e. new firmware but same IMEI number). I'm not sure if it will be hassle free if you do this in a phone with different IMEI number, as there might be some sort of protection against copying a paid game to another device.
Nevertheless, as you have paid for it you probably still have how to prove it to gameloft should you have any trouble. and download a new key if this is the case.

Right now i'm on INSANITY.
i want to format the phone after all the things i installed on it(games\apps), now i know that i can restore all the apps and games with the market account. but i wonder if i can restore in anyway the saved games.
The amount of apps that im using right now is around 15 at most, so i want to clear it all.
The main reason that i want to do a format is that Insanity is the only ROM that allows me to use the Viber app without freezes and FC's(tried all the regular methods of restoring,Wipe and different ROMS+Kernels-it just won't work).
so how can i save the data? can i copy it to the Pc(that one's i need)and put it back after that? If so, where are the ROBO defence game data?
Also, is there a way to save massages other that put them on my SIM card?
so i guess the ultimate question is:
Is there a way to backup data manually not using app like TITANIUM BACKUP(due to fc im getting from time to time-also after wipe data)?
Hi,
I have Galaxy nexus, and I just bought a S3, i want to switch my whole data to S3, Pictures, Music, Videos and App data.
Any easy way?
Root both devices, install Titanium Backup on both. Backup all apps on your old phone, move TitaniumBackup folder to your new phone, restore all apps. That will give you all the installed apps + data.
While you're at it, you can also copy all data on your old phone's memory to the new one. That should transfer the remaining data (photos, videos, etc). Phone settings like probably won't get transfered though (ringtone settings, wallpapers, etc) as they depend on the rom and are hard to transfer.

If you haven't already unlocked bootloader, you'll need to use a method that doesn't wipe data.
This is one recent possibility.
I wouldn't put data from a Gnex tothe s3. And ur apps will DL as soon as u log in gmail or market.
Thanks Everyone
I managed to transfer apps by the method you mentioned, now i need to move pictures, music and videos
I dont want to root my S3
Can't you just use a computer?

I did that as my last resolution, I was looking for something like the option RIM got in it's application
its always best to manually transfer Pictures, music and videos . "Cut & Move"

Agree, just to elaborate this folder is DCIM usually. I'd recommend not copying over your data from titanium and do a clean start.

Hi guys,
I want to notice you I really tried several times to search this issue before I wrote this question. I like to know how to trasnfer apps with ALL settings and data from old mobile to new phone. I know the transfer of apps is done by backup on Mi account or Google account and cloud settings in some apps. But lot of apps are without login and settings on cloud. For example I do not want to setup lot of apps again such as Kodi with lot of settings, Total Commander with lot of settings for LAN/FTP connections, Poweramp, etc...
You will, need root and titaium back up for that. Other wise there is almost no other way.

OK then and when I will have both phones rooted, where I can find the data / settings of the apps in the Android folder in the internal storage?
data/data or data/app???
I transferred old phone's data to new S23 ultra using samsung switch application.
warning said: whatsapp media is not transferred via switch app, hence you need to back up separately, which i did.
however, after transferring the data and resetting old phone, i realized it did not transfer my data from secure folder.
Lost thousands of pictures and videos.
I understand it's a secure folder and as a security feature of it, it shouldn't have copied over. However, a warning could have been a savior.
Sad..
That really sucks, sorry to hear. But I also used Smart Switch and my Secure Folder files transferred just fine.
yes you can choose in smart switch to transfer also the secure folder and what is in it. I have all my data from old phone that was stored in secure folder.

You probably did not check the secure folder transfer.
