Google services dont work on 2nd user - Huawei MediaPad M5 Questions & Answers

Hello,
I've been using the tablet for couple of years using stock updates.
Some time ago I set up mu child as a secondary user in Android, unfortuntely it appears that Google services dont work on the secondary profile.
Are they blocked by Google due to ban or Huwai?
Basically we cannot authenticate to Google play or Gmail - the screen stucks on trying to contact Google services.
Tried clearing cache of google apps, recreated user - same issue
Is there any resolution please?

[Q] Procedure for changing google account associated with phone

I've got a new phone, and both it and my old one show up on Google Play, with the tabs showing the respective apps installed.
The old one is rooted, and I want to let my son use it on his own GMail ID. I've no problem resetting it or loading a completely new ROM.
Is there a proper procedure for dissociating it from my GMail ID and adding it to his. I have a suspicion that if I just change the associated email address in the Google Play settings on the phone, it will still appear on my list of devices.
If his gmail account isn't connected to yours then a factory reset and then add his account and then it should disappear. This means all paid apps would have to be bought again. Idk if google saves the device in your list but you wont have access to it.

Thanks for that - I was wondering how to make sure its tab disappears from my google account - it sounds like it's not possible...

[Q] Updated ROM - where are my apps?

Think it may have to do with setting up a different gmail acct than the one I use with Google Play on previous ROM. regardless, now I just have a dozen or so generic apps instead of all my previously installed ones. Help!
If you change to a diffrent Google account only sideloaded apps (apps not loaded through Google) will stay on the device. All other apps has to be re-installed through the new Google account.
At least I think that's how it is...

Yep, that's how it is. Play Store apps are linked to the account on your device. With that being said, though, you can also have two Google accounts on one device -- add another Google account in System Settings, and you'll be able to select which account is active when you're using the Play Store.
[Can't seem to add another gmail acct. under Settings...when I go under ADD Account and hit Google it takes me back to previous screen in Settings

Play Books/Magazine App Issues

Hi,
Nook Tablet 16G rooted CM10.1.2/Android 4.2.2
Odd issue. Have two of these with different accounts. On one Google Play Books/Magazines Apps work fine. On the other Books fails to sync library (Quit / Retry) yet settings account shows books sync working. Also Magazines starts shows logging in dialog then the screen flashes and it loops back to logging in/flash/logging in / flash, stuck in a loop. Haven't tried market online access yet but I presume it will work fine since I can download and run apps from Play store.
Tried uninstalling/reinstalling both apps, no change. Moved both apps to sd, no change. clear both cache and data, no change.
Anyone run into this problem?
Thanks for any help.
Regards,
Kevin
New info.
On a whim I decided to add my account, which is working on the other tablet.
Using my account on the tablet in question (2 apps don't work) google books and magazines works!
Switching back to my son's account and the symptoms return.
So it's not the tablet or the app but the account?
It's odd because google play works fine (ie. download and install apps) using that account.
I need to go to the web based market and try logging in with the account in question to see how the web based interface works.
I'm wondering if it could be due to the account not having a registered form of payment?

Kevin

License verification failure in paid apps with 2 accounts in playstore?

Hi,
I have a Nexus 7 that's running latest stock build (rooted). I have two Google accounts connected. I have a couple apps that I am trying to install which are tied to the secondary account (not sure if there are primary/secondary accounts but it was the 2nd google account added to the device and is listed 2nd under Accounts -> Google). If I search for the paid app, it shows up as downloadable whether or not I select the primary or the secondary account in Play Store (and both choices give me the same result). When I go to open the app it gives me a license verification error. I tried two such apps, Franco Kernel Updater and Greenify's donation package. I haven't had issues like this before. I've been running this device for two years with this setup without any issue but maybe I haven't since Kit Kat. It definitely worked on JB.
I tried clearing data for play store, as well as clearing data for google services framework and google play services, then rebooting. Still having the issue. Anyone have any idea if there's a way to get license verification to work? Thanks!
This is part of the new security setup android has added for more then one user. You will not be able to do that anymore.

Google Account Problem

Guys, when I login with my main G Acc I dont get any apps & updates in Play Store->My Apps; I login with my secondary G Acc and they appear instantly. I am almost sure that /data reset will fix the problem but I dont want to waste my time to again import backed up contacts, call & message logs, app data & so on. I tried clearing Apps->All->Google, Google Play Store & Google Play services data but still the same. Any ideas? Xperia Z3
You can remove the account from within the Settings without resetting the phone. I would then reboot and re-add and see if that doesn't help.

I did this a hundred times..the problem is that in my older account system apps were added to the account (https://play.google.com/apps) but on the new account they are not. I have to manually browse for system apps like hangouts, google, google play games, GP music, etc.. and then I see the Update button
