Question Sudden battery shutdown!? - Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

Hi folks! Yesterday, at 63% battery, my S23U suddenly turned off. It did not restart and as i plugged in the charge cable the charging power was at 7 watts and after a couple of minutes the display shows a capacity of 0%. Weired thing at all. Anybody here who knows the ussd code for battery information and calibration? I cannot find anything.
Greetz!

woah! that's a first...Take it to the nearest Samsung store and get this sorted.

USSD Code used to be *#0228#, but doesn't work on my S918B...

Did not work on mine, too.

Open the "Diagnostics" app and launch "Battery Status"

Says "status normal". 5000 mAh estimated.

Status "Normal" 5000 mAh. 4855 mAh real capacity.

Strange battery problem help plz

My phone drains the battery very quickly from 100% to 1% but after reaching 1% it can be used for hours.Last time after the full charge battery dropped from 100-1% in about 2 1/2 hours of use on WiFi but after that it lasted for more than 13 hours on 1% but the Network data, Bluetooth and WiFi was off.
Currently i am running CM7 stable (battery fix is also applied) i was also facing such issues on the stock 2.3.4.
maybe a battery re-calibration can solve this issue?

I bought my Atrix 3 weeks ago. My previous device was also another Motorola, Milestone.
When I first started to use Atrix I found that the battery was draining so quickly even I didn’t install any apps yet. It was becoming 1% in 70 minutes with full display and running default apps.
I tried to full battery several times, did factory resets and finally went back to shop. The shop replaced the battery with another new one.
Still it happened same problem. Then they changed my device with another new one. It was same, too.
I would give it back to shop but last time I decided to discharge it until it turns off.
At this point I found that discharging takes long time after it became 1%. For example by heavy using it becomes 1% in 70 minutes, then it takes at least 200 minutes more even I watch videos via Youtube, play games etc.. It means in total it takes at least 4,5 hours with full display and heavy usage. That’s OK for me as battery life.
But I want my battery meter show correct percentage. Then I can be able to know when it will turn off.
I tried battery calibration several times. I search a lot about this problem but found nothing. Probably people thinks that their battery life is too short.
So cannot find solution.
Summary: My Atrix’s battery meter immediately drop to 1% and then runs 3 times longer than previous 99%. PLEASE HELP ME TO CORRECT MY BATTERY METER DISPLAY.
Do you think that your battery fix way helps me?

I don't know. I bought it, and unlocked it directly, then flash CM7 Rom, but noticed that the battery drain very fast. However, after the indicator becomes 1%, I can still use rather a long time. I thought it was an error on battery meter, but I can't make it display correctly through calibration.
Now if the battery is fully charged, I can still use rather a long time after the indicator becomes 1%. But after the battery drained, it can't be charged completely. It really disappoints me very much.

Ya that's the same problem i have i think its something to do with phone recognizing the mah capacity of the battery if u can see the charge-full-design in sys/class/power-supply/battery/charge-full-design u will notice it showing only 500 which should be 1880 that's why our phone drops and charge quickly according the capacity its getting from charge-full-design.
This value can be changed on other phone but for Motorola i have not found any tutorial or app to do so

And for charging don't take off the phone from charging on 100% bcoz when the phone battery meter is showing 100% its battery mv is less than 3900mv and if u keep it on charge after 100% battery mv value will gradually go up to 4200mv which is the actual capacity of the battery.

Oh, thanks. The value in sys/class/power-supply/battery/charge-full-design is just a result, representing the battery statue. So the key is that the battery capacity can't be recognized correctly by the phone. I just test another battery, and the value 1880!
But the former battery doesn't look like a fake one. Actually, I bought them together. I can't understand.

What battery health does Phone info app show for you? Is my battery defective?

Same for me 90.71 % after reflash my S9 + several times with
Stock G965FXXS2BRI1
As i heard its about samsung politique after each update devices will deteriorate......(battery drain , lags ,limit performance.......)
In order to force consumers to upgrade and move to new devices
It has nothing to do with that. I installed that app on my first purchase of my brand new device and charge cycle=0 and battery health at 94.00% so it's just an estimate

The apps are woefully inaccurate, but if you have any concerns you can take it to a Samsung store and they'll test. I used accubattery for a while but it showed my health to decline over time, reinstalled the app and it was back to 100%......
Yup my says 100%. Day one purchase. Fullcapnom says i have 3700mah battery my wild guess is that samsung use bigger batteries to compensate capacity loss.
For monitoring the usage you might want to give GSam a try as it has some good graphs so see what might cause issues.
I also got S9+ yesterday. I checked the battery with Phone Info and Accubattery. When i checked for a bit before purchage, It showed 95%. But now when I used it for 1 day. It changed to 85%. Phone Info shows 104 charge cycle. I don't know whether this Accubattery is really good way to measure the battery or if i should change this phone for completely new one. Phone Info still shows battery health around 95%.

Battery Drain and heating after Color OS update for August Security Patch

Does anyone facing this problem of battery drain and heating of device after August Color OS Update.
Standby drain is 4-5 % per hour and screen on time is less than 5 hours.
I checked all the settings uninstalled all apps and checked the network settings, rebooted, checked in airplane mode also but the battery drain is the same.
Even while charging it is going more warm than before. If anyone is facing the issue please respond.
Oppo Reno 10x Zoom has very less reach to people and Oppo is not bothered about its device.

When I got the Mobile the first thing I did was update the patch.....so I am unaware of before and after stuff.....but It got heated only once while downloding and charging simultaneously (41°c). Also it gets a bit heated while charging when the AC / fan in the room is off(I guess that's normal).
From my past mobile experiences, a reset could help u out (take backup of data before reset).
U could also check in Battery setting which app is consuming more power.

Can u check what is your standby battery drain, my previous Oneplus 5 has drain less than 1% per hour with AOD but Oppo Reno 10x Zoom is taking 4% per hour and that is huge.

Yes and daily its different app and just which app i use more thats only showing
And also when i check whole days power consumption , highest is whatsapp with 11 percent and the total mah used is 218mah for a whole day.
So, if 218 percent is 11 percent a whole day and consider i charged once fully, total for 100 percent is around 2000mah.
So where the rest 2000 mah is going, and its going when the screen is off.
I dont know what to do.
I have worse problem than this. Battery is draining at 10% per hour rate. And strange thing is that even if I switch off mobile, it will drain battery with same rate. May be hardware problem.

Fake Battery capacity oneplus nord

Hello everyone, I've been using a oneplus nord for the last three days and the phone is brand new. One thing I noticed is that the battery life is not that great considering it has a 4115Mah so I took a look at Aida64 battery stats when charged to 100% and it looks like the maximum capacity is 3500 Mah. I found this a bit weird since it's impossible that the battery degradated so quick and so much most of all. So I wanted to ask if you re willing to share a screenshot of aida64 of the battery capacity at 100% just to make sure if it's a single device problem or a common issue. Thanks everybody

Mines almost WiFi only, I don't get out much and I don't play graphic intensive games. So if your almost full on data it's not bad imho.
EDIT: you could try accubattery and see if it's more accurate after some charge-decharge cycles?
My is 1396mAh when fully charged. So I googled, and found this:
"On many devices the standard Android Battery API is inadequately implemented, and fails to provide proper charge counter information for the battery. If you want, you can hide the incorrect charge counter information from the Battery page by unchecking the charge counter option in the AIDA64 Settings."

I had roughly the same value. Maybe accubattery isn't reading the values properly? There was an update regarding the 8 series because it couldn't reed the values of "2" batteries. Maybe it's bugged for the Nord too?
Accubattery thinks that my battery is 6879mAh. And that is after several charges. So yeah, I think we can safely assume these number don't mean s****.
I'm testing BatteryGuru now and it shows it right...

Question Anyone else using AccuBattery app on pixel 6?

Greetings, I'm having issues with the pro version of AccuBattery not keeping history sessions beyond a days worth. Sometimes nothing is logged at all. I've been in touch with the developers, and they are looking into it. Just curious if others are experiencing anomalous behavior for this app?
I'm using Accubattery pro, and it works normally for me. Currently history sessions go back 12 days for me, typically 2 entries per day.
Two weeks for me too.
Mine goes back to the 17th I use a chargie to limit.my.charging to 80 so there are lots of entries because it shuts off at 80 drops to 76 then back to 80 and accubattery records all that

Hi, thanks for responding, can I ask what range you typically are charging from / to? Apparently, from the developers, it don't record cycles less than 20%, however, they indicated they will remove the limit of 150-200 sessions in a future update. My average range is from around 70% to 100% and I almost dayly just use the phone while plugged into it's charger. Also, curious what adaptive settings you have enabled? Thanks.

The Chargie is on chargie.org. I bought one but didn't like it so I gave it to my wife who charges all day and now limited to 80%. I don't use any adaptive settings and my charging ranges up to 90% and then I unplug. I never charged my P5 during the day but the P6 I have to charge multiple times. So I really don't pay much attention any longer. It drops to 50 or 60% I throw it on the charger for a bit and then do it again and again. The battery sucks but I like the phone so I live with it. I'll def trade it in for the P7 hoping they iron out some bugs.

I Have adaptive charging off I think ill check later my phones in the other room. But chargie is a device that goes between the any charging brick and the phone.I t connects via BLE (Bluetooth low energy) and is controlled by an app from the playstore.
https://chargie.org/product/chargie-c-basic/ That is the link for the usb type c model. I have had all three of the generations of this thing. Been using it since my og pixel. I actually have my wife's old pixel 3 that she used for 2.5 years and now has the 5a but the 3a is used as a security cam now and that phone has always had a chargie and the battery is reading 101% Thats pretty amazing for a phone that old especially since nit has spent the last 6 months or so continuously plugged in because its a camera now.
