Question How I got miracast to work - Moto G Power (2021)

Hello, if you are like me you are super frustrated when you realized this phone doesn't have Miracast and it doesn't work. You may have tried all the workarounds like editing the build prop, Magisk modules and a multitude of others. I have been trying off and on for a year. There doesn't seem to be custom roms specifically for this phone. I tried quite a few GSI with no luck. It would start to connect then soft reboot.
What finally did work was the crdroid GSI on android 11. everything seems to work well. I did a dirty flash from havoc android 10 gsi. Just flashed system_A all my apps and settings stayed and I avoided setup. Here's the link to the GSI. hope this helps someone, after having had miracast not having it seemed like a downgrade. tsk tsk to google for having given us miracast and then deprecating it in favor of chromecast.
Cheers

Interestingly.
I had no such luck on my Cubot Note7. I tried to imitate your procedure, I installed GSI HavocOS 3.11 and after restarting the Crdrom-v316 you mentioned. But Miracast didn't find my TV. Additionally, Crdrom doesn't even offer wfd permission like GSI bless-v224:

Bless-224 finds my tv, however the connection attempt ends with a soft restart.
Does your miracast work even without said permission?
And I'm also wondering if it is necessary for your phone to be connected to the home network (router), because otherwise the miracast icon remains greyed out. On older Android, miracast worked with just turning on wi-fi, without connecting to the home network (wi-fi direct).
Thank you for the info.

I do have to have wifi on if I connect from the tile in the status bar.. I do not if I access the wifi display settings in more settings. I used root activity launcher to make a home screen link that invokes the menu quickly. And I'm not sure if it helps but I have wireless display certification menu in the developer settings set to on. It may help of you get root activity launcher and go down the list of all the system apps activities to nail down which system app is invoking the wifi display or cast features. For my phone I had honestly felt like the soft reboot was possibly a google or moto decision to purposely keep me from using miracast. Maybe I'm just paranoid.
It's a crying shame tho that my galaxy s4 and s6 both have miracast.. in fact the galaxy s6 can cast to my t.v while also still being connected to wifi playing videos from the internet. That as far as I'm concerned makes these new phones that lack those features a downgrade. Because it's not like we don't have the technology an s6 shouldn't be better than a 2021 android. If I can think of more to help I will let you know.. I had literally spent hours trying to figure it out.. I decompiled my settings app.. my framework.jar, I pulled the wfdisplay.so files from phones with known working cast and added them to system and even flashed the vendor partition from the motog sofia to my moto g power. Firstly try that wireless display certification in developer options
Best of luck
An actual person, not ChatGPT

Thank you for your answer, but honestly, I'm a little lost in it. It is not clear from it if miracast works for you when Wi-Fi is only turned on or when Wi-Fi is connected - these are slightly different cases. Checking the wfd certification option does not affect the visibility of my TV when searching for nearby devices, but only plays an important role when connecting to the selected TV.
I'm also not clear if you have the option to enable wfd (under the three dots in the upper right corner) or if you don't need this option at all.
Sorry for the Google translation.

Hey guys!
Since all of you here are quite experienced, I'd like you to check out and comment my in-progress work.
I'm writing yet another WiFi discovery tool (like Hitchhiker or WiFi companion).
Today I'm on a very early stage:
Many things are not implemented yet
No autoconnect. Manual mode only
What i've got:
It can turn WiFi on and off
It shows current WiFi status
It shows a list of nearby networks
It connects all types of networks (including WEP, WPA, WPA2, hidden, open, etc.) in manual mode
It is finger friendly
It is on AppToDate
It supports VGA, wide screens, landscape mode, and it looks nice after all
Please give me your feedback (including concerns regarding English grammar used, since I'm Russian)
Thanks!

I think it looks great. Id really like to give it a try when its ready for testing. Nice work.

It definitely looks nice. I'm going to have to try it out.
this program shows wifi dbm level?
very nice, will it autoconnect to open networks and replace windows zero configuration?
Bug: Doesn't switch Wifi off on exit.
Although, nice work
looks awasome m8, cant wait for the release, gl
This app is very cool. Personally though, it would be nice to be able to turn off the vibrate when a button is clicked. Im not saying i dont like it, but having a choice would be ideal. And with what was mentioned earlier, wifi doesnt turn off when exiting the app, Keep up the great work.
Amazing program! Works fine on my LG KS20.
I can't wait to see next version
Will it support connecting to network with ssid broadcast off?
really nice program !
Hope you will continue !

This program looks like it's going to be something major. Love the look and especially the fact that it doesn't have to be installed.
I also agree, on the fact that I think this app is really going to be a must have !!
But I don't agree with you on the install, I would rather prefer it be installed

Normally, I'm just like you, rather have it installed. But I am beyond low on free space right now, so with this not having to be installed, it works perfectly for me.
I'm liking the look of this; will be very helpful when out and about in London.
Renders well on my HD's WVGA screen too.
On the subject of installable or not, my vote would be for installable; means I can run it from the programmes tab in my TF3D v2....

[APP][ALPHA][MATERIAL][Oct27] SmartLockScreen for Android

[size=+3]SmartLockScreen for Android - Bringing Lollipop smartness to JB and above![/size]
Code:
Disclaimer:
This app is in alpha stage. Though safe for daily use (none of the testers have got locked out of their phones),
rooted phone is recommended for testing, so that system password can be reset via adb.
If the previous sentence scares you, do read on, and if you find it interesting,
follow this thread and try out the app when it reaches Beta stage
(It'll not take much time).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[size=+1]Looking for alpha testers. Feedback will be much appreciated![/size]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[size=+2]Introduction[/size]
Make your phone lock smarter! Automatically change and remove passwords based on your current 'Environment'.
Convert Wi-Fi networks, Bluetooth Devices or Location areas into trust agents, and let them do the phone unlocking for you!
That is just 1 method of using the app. Possibilities are endless!
Also brings Lollipop style lockscreen notifications.
[size=+2]Features[/size]
Define environments - Each environment can be a combination of any of Bluetooth devices, Wi-Fi network and Location.
Set passphrase for each environment. The app detects environment changes and changes the passphrase automatically in the background.
How is this useful? Consider this: Say you define environment home, which says Home is when the phone is connected to Home Wi-Fi (you can use location also, or both together). For environment home, set password as none. And for unknown environment, you can set, say, a pattern lock. So whenever you are at home, you can unlock the phone easily, but when outside, it'll set a lock and prevent unauthorized usage by others.
Another scenario is adding an environment which checks for your bluetooth headset. Phone is automatically secured when you move away, and unlocks automatically when you come back to it.
These are just indicative. Possibilities are endless!
Notifications in lock screen - Lollipop style! It's not totally there yet, it's an ongoing work. Swipe up/down to unlock, left for camera, right for dialer.
Intelligent environment overlap resolution. But you always have the option to override it manually.
Material Design, and smooth animations. (See screenshots below)
More features are coming soon! See Features to be implemented section

Great app but unfortunately I only use fingerprint lockscreen on my N4. Waiting for an update with support of fingerprint lockscreen!
EDIT: It seems like I can't uninstall this app. Not even force close it, since there's no exit option in the app itself. What is that all about?

I suppose with a finger print lock, this app is not really required. However, I've never actually tried the finger print unlock. If it takes a bit of time to unlock, or is inconsistent sometimes, I'd definitely try and include finger print unlock once the app reaches a stable state.

[Q][Help] Tenfifteen QW09 3g Smartwatch - How to answer/dial to paired phone?

Hello everybody!
I'm a forum newbie and hope someone can help me!!
I've bought an Mtk smartwatch, model QW09 from http :// www . gearbest .com/smart-watch-phone/pp_411172.html (I've to use spaces inside url due to forum rules). It's an Android device with a Kitkat version on board called FunOS.
I've been able to pair it with my Huawei P8 smartphone via bluetooth and I receive basic notifies from the phone BUT I can't answer to a call when phone rings (the smartwatch only vibrate once but nothing appear on its display) or make a bluetooth call. Obiously I need it because I don't use the smartwatch with a SIM inserted into, only with paired phone for not missing calls when it's inside my pockets or inside a bag...I just want to know if it's possibile and how to answer/make calls to my phone via bluetooth from the smartwatch.
Thanks a lot in advance if someone could help me! :fingers-crossed:

You probably figured this out already but I'll post to help others who are also having this issue. Short answer is that you cant't answer calls made to your phone via bluetooth with this devise. The QW09 is essentially a tiny phone and that keeps it from being used this way. You can either put a sim in it and use it as a standalone phone (provided it will work with your carrier) or you can use it to receive notifications. But you cant answer/make calls to my phone via bluetooth.
I might be sending this 2 years later, but I actually found a way to use this watch right. Here's what I think IS by far the best way to get this watch operational, at least for my Huawei Mate 8:
1. Root with KingRoot (Download the application over Windows PC, enable USB debugging, connect the QW09 smartwatch)
2. For this step you have 2 options:
a) Download Watch Droid Phone Pro 8.2 apk somewhere on the internet.
b) Get Lucky Patcher and patch Watch Droid Phone 8.2 yourself.
3. Downloading the same app, but other counter part, this would be, Droid Watch 8.2.
MAKE SURE TO INSTALL THE EXACT SAME VERSION, THE LATER BUILDS ACTUALLY DONT SHOW UP THE CALL BUTTON AS SHOWN IN THE PICTURE BELLOW:

}
I PROVIDED BOTH SCREENSHOTS SO YOU WOULD KNOW WHAT TO LOOK FOR.
4. Connecting is pretty simple just follow the instructions, and you should be done. Calling through the app can be setup, as well as other cool features, depending on your phone.
NOTE! - These other steps are for people who want to get rid of some annoying FunOS features.
5) NO.1 Watchskin faces:
This FunOS was actually quiet annoying to work around first. I figured that it's based on NO.1 watches, and so their watchfaces do work.
For that stuff you'll need root access like which I mentioned as step #1. The location to put the facewatches is root/system/clockskin... (Make sure that they're labeled _45, _45 etc...)
6) Getting screen rotation, notification panel and navbar at the bottom of your screen:
As you may have noticed, when you swipe down, you get this horrible looking menu with a QR code, and nothing to touch besides WIFI and Bluetooth.
Get these 2 programs to fix that:
[url]https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nu.nav.bar[/URL] - Navigation bar.
(When using put scale on bottom to 30% - IF YOU USE ANY HIGHER THAN THAT, THE SCREEN WILL OVERLAP WITH THE NAVBAR)
[url]https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cz.chladek.swipe_status_bar[/URL] - Swipe status bar.
[url]https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stihiya.notification.drawer[/URL] - Notification drawer.
Some other useful apps that I found to actually be really good:
1. Gallery 3D (Android 2.0 imtation) - This app is good because scaling pictures HD on this thing is a pain in the ****.
2. Document Viewer - Good for reading Office documents.
3. Dimly - For dimming your display, has nightmode.
4. Messanger Lite - FOR SOME REASON ONLY THIS VERSION ON MESSANGER WORKS.
5. RAR - For archives.
6. Screen Roration Camera - Use this to be able to rotate portrait, landscape... etc. If you combine this with the swipe notification you can easily rotate the screen, because it creates a notification.
7. OpenCamera - Good for zooming etc, rotating. Since position for the camera is AWFUL on this device, not to mention screen being a bit off too.
8. File Manager + - Use this instead of ES File explorer, because it wastes less memory.
9. ColorNote, Smart Quick Settings, Weather, BlueMail.
I spent some time trying to find the right programs for this watch, so it wouldn't get build up with a load of crap and get slow.
Most of these apps are around 5 MB each, except Messanger Lite.
If you'd like some sort of switch for the Advanced Task Killer, I use One Cleaner.
Vysor for control over PC...
Flappy Fish is also a good game if you're trying to find something that won't fry the motherboard... etc.
Also when getting the notification bar enabled you'll notice the standard KitKat notification panel, with all of it's features.
For some reason these FunOS bois, put some features hidden. You couldn't even change your GPS/Location settings. Luckly with these you might be able to.
If you got any other questions feel free to ask!
please can you help me? i recently buy a qw09 smartwatch, i root it , but i can install Watch Droid Assistant in the smartwatch , a message appears saying that version is not available anymore . Insatalling the last version doesn´t show a bluetoot caller icon. Advantages of owning both a Samsung phone and tablet?

About to get a new phone and I also have a S7+. Are there any benefits with using a Samsung phone over just any Android device?
I want the Pixel 4a 5g because of the price, but I am already missing the benefit of measuring my blood pressure and EKG with my Samsung watch, because I have a V60 at the moment. That is not that big of a deal but I wanted to know what features I may be missing out on my S7+ by not going with a Samsung phone.
Customization. No other stock phone is as customizable. Hundreds of free icon packs, themes, and the Good Lock family of apps.
Many of the Samsung's have SD card slots. I won't buy a phone with no SD card slot as I use it as a data drive.

There are quite a few advantages, all of which I use daily and although they are mainly simple things that you could probably work around, I couldn't see myself switching to another phone and losing those features now that I have them.
1. Call and text sharing, so if a call or text comes in on my phone I can answer it on my tablet.
2. Seamless audio switching with my Buds+, if I'm listening to something on my phone, then switch to watching something on my tablet the Buds+ will auto switch device. Also, if I'm watching something on my tablet and a call comes in on my phone, the Buds+ will switch to the phone.
3. Auto data tethering. Your phone will always appear at the top of the WiFi menu on your tablet and you can start tethering data without having to first enable it on the phone.
4. App sync, I don't use this one that much as right now I think it only works with Samsung Notes and Samsung Internet but if I write a note on my tablet and then open the multitasking menu on my phone there will be a button to open Samsung Notes on the phone just as I had left it on the tablet.
5. You can use the tablet keyboard to type on the phone. Just press a button on the tablet keyboard and it switches to typing on the phone, handy for replying to WhatsApp messages without having to pick up the phone.
There are probably some more features, but these are the ones that I use.
Thank you for your reply, that helps a lot! Probably go with the S21 5g then. I have everything else Samsung (TV, tablet, watch, earbuds, SmartThings WiFi) might as well get their phone too along with a Samsung fan boy t-shirt!

On the screen shot on the right/left sides you'll notice the light strips. They can be may any size, color or transparency including invisible. That's the app One Hand Operation + which is a very cool app that can be used to toggle on many different apps/services, gesture navigation and more.
Nests well in the curve of the screen. The Digi Clock Widget also has 4 switch quadrants that I use... hidden switches everywhere. They allow for a very clean but highly functional/stable home screen. Very low battery usage as well.
The Buds couple fast with Samsung phones plus you can use the proprietary SSC codec. The Buds + are a definite sound upgrade from the Buds. Not sure about the Buds Pro, there could fit issues; the Buds and Buds+ are dimensions/fit identical but that was change with the Pro model.

S PEN Galaxy Tab S6 (SM-T860) doesn't connect anymore so it is not possible to use suspended actions.

My s6 tab was purchased in late 2019, shortly after launch. I always used it with tcare and had never had any problems. However, for about two days now, he started to report that the s pen was disconnected. After a few attempts to reconnect or after restoring the pen (configuration > advanced features > s pen > three dots > restore s pen) it even reconnects, but when I lock the screen and unlock the message that the pen is disconnected appears again . I've cleared the cache in recovery mode, I've tried to update, I've restored the s pen and the tablet, I've cleaned the part that connects the s pen and the tablet, but nothing solves! Lucky for me, only the suspended actions don't work, as the pen doesn't connect, but the other writing functions and the button still work so far. To avoid the continuous notification that the s pen is disconnected I had to disable the suspended actions.
I believe this is a specific problem with s pen.
I'm super upset with this problem since it's an expensive device and I always took care of the tablet in the best way and never dropped the pen. It is disappointing to have this issue in 1.5 years of normal use.
To make matters worse, the product is no longer under warranty, as more than 1 year has passed, and the s6 tab s pen is not available for sale on the Samsung website in Brazil, which is absurd! How does the company not sell an essential accessory for one of its top-of-the-line tablets?

Unfortunately, I tried all the steps and suggestions, but none of them solved the connection problem.
There is no apparent damage on the S Pen.
It is still working correctly for writing and other functions. The shortcut menu appears and all the related functions to it work fine.
The problem is on the connection or on the battery of the s pen, i don’t know, because the status appears always as disconnected.
I don’t have the air actions, so I can’t configure the remote control functions while using apps, like controlling the camera.
All my apps and the android system are updated. I replaced the s pen tip, I rebooted the tablet in safe mode, I reset the pen (on air actions options), but nothing solved the conection problem.
Finally, I also performed a factory data reset/hard reset on my tablet, but the problem persists.
The tablet tries to connect (takes a long time processing), but it doesn't connect. Appers the message: couldn’t connect to your s pen
Alerting notifications: s pen disconnected
it's very disappointing that in less than a year and a half of normal use such an expensive tablet is already with troubles.
I just wanted to buy a new original S Pen, but it doesn't have it in the Samsung store in Brazil.
What nonsense! A recent device and one of the brand's most modern tablets.
It's very frustrating and disappointing, because I'll have to keep the damaged S Pen and the tablet without all its special features, as announced by Samsung.
Hi,
Really need your help, after I updated my firmware using Odin, updated BL, AP, CP, CSC, my tab cannot boot up stuck in logo. Doing the Power + volume up leads me to different screen now.
What must I do? Pleasssee help. Added the pic, after doing hard reset (power + vol up)
I cannot connect back to Odin also. Always setup connection failed.
Please help.
Thank you in advance.
Seems like the bluetooth receiver on your S-Pen is faulty, so your S-Pen would need to be replaced or repaired. If you have purchased the extended warranty on your device, I would recommend that you take it back to the retailer for repairs.
