REDMI PAD System launcher 4.40 - Xiaomi Mi Pad Questions & Answers

Hey actually my question is about Redmi pad not xiaomi MI pad but I couldn't find a section for it.
So I have recently got a redmi pad and updated it to miui 13.1.7 then I noticed that the system launcher was installed to the latest version which is 4.40
I wonder if the system launcher was a previous version before that system update that I had but it doesn't matter now.
I really want to downgrade the system launcher to 4.39 or earlier and I know how to do it using adb. I have done similar things using adb before but it's really my first time downgrading a system app. Any recommendations? Should I do it?

How to get rid of bloatware on Xiaomi Redmi Note 2

Hi,
I would like to start a new thread - How to get rid of bloatware on Xiaomi Redmi Note 2.
I bought RMN2 at Geekbuying.com and its MIUI is full of bloatware.
When opening a new tab in chrome browser sometimes a second/additional tab opens with new page.
e.g. (global.ymtracking.com/trace?offer_id=106438&aff_id=27742
d2c5yjc1pv3tab.cloundfront.net/apk/10848.apk1 )
redirecting to
phonebooster_546227637488bc7fd512af8a71adab1e.apk
which has ANDROID/Levida.A.Gen Add Ware Virus
I have also observed that some new apps were installed in background.
It is downloading 20150305011920.apk, 20151013045927.apk, 20141230064828.apk and installing Cleanmaster, APUS, UC Mini.
Android Version: 5.0.2 LRX22G
MIUI Version: 66.77.33.00(LHMCNCH) | Stable
How can I get rid of the bloatware?
a) flashing a new MIUI Version - please post a link to an eu version
b) removing infected apps?
I installed the beta miui 7 eu rom. It is great. Just changed the name and used update.
Search the forums for more info.
PS http://xiaomi.eu/community/forums/miui-weekly-rom-releases.103/
Sent from my Redmi Note 2 using XDA Free mobile app

did a full wipe and installed the rom.
now it seems clean.

But 5.10.16 has a battery drain. I turned back to 5.10.8.
For those of us less than expert.........
I bought 2 of these Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Smartphones. Malware, bloatware, battery sucking crap all preloaded and reloaded if I am lucky enough to uninstall it. I have flashed update ROMs from Ulefone and iOcean but this Miui ROM process may be over my head. You guys know of a tutorial site where they step through the process for newbies like me? (I need English, Google, Play Store, etc) thanks, dac

Good luck.
My screen is going double layered when it is cold and when i keep using it,it goes hot and goes all ok again
Noob question: do I download the weekly release ROM and rename it to "update.zip"? Is it that simple? And do I use the factory Mi Recovery to flash the updated rom? Where do I save the file? Into the "download" folder or just into the main internal storage?
Thank you!

The rom is not the real miui rom to my knowledge, you should change to the official rom
Hi everyone. I think bought a cooked phone to (seller echoice2016 on amazon.de, on the bill it said etotalk.com). I also experienced random opening of different tracking websites and I started thinking - I have a credit card attached to my google account and these ****ers could easily install keylogger.
So, ASAP I need to reflash something else. Now, I can't access recovery, all I see is this:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzuJV8WP2qMyNUFvSUhja2t0b0k/view?usp=sharing
Any hints, please? I'd also appreciate which ROM to use. I'd like a stable as stock as possible ROM with gapps but without MIUI email, calendar and other nonsense, because I want to use my own aps.
Thanks in advance!
RMN2 bloatware
Hi all
Complete noobie here
Just bought a RMN2 prime (2gb+32gb) which is currently running 5.0.2 LRX22G on MIUI 66.77.55.00(LHMCNCH) | Stable
I am getting so much bloatware and viruses, I need to change the OS.
Should I just download the Hermes (xiaomi.eu_multi_hermes_V7.0.6.0.LHMCNCI_v7-5.0.zip)
rename it as "update.zip"
load it onto my phone
restart (volume up + power)
Wipe
install?
... or is it more complex than that
Any help gratefully received

You can do this, bug after you will be unable to update. So, first install the xiaomi.eu developer rom
Then with flashify install the TWRP Recovery (check on xiaomi.eu the download, it's on the download page, scroll down). Then go to recovery and install the stable rom. After do a wipe data and cache.
You xan do the next updates with TWRP.
If you don't install the developer rom before you can't install the TWRP so you have to install a china developer, install the TWRP, install the update and do a wipe data.

Partner has just got the redmi 2 (8gig version) and has bloatware. can freeze it using titanium and all is well but would prefer a better rom(stock) what is the latest rom and where do we get it from?
Go to xiaomi.eu and go to the weekly ROM section
hi guys i'm a old school android geek that haven't mixed with android phones in some years now so consider me a noob and i have the Redmi note 2 prime 32gb version with spyware in it version miui 70 stable 7.0.99.99 LHFNYUN in android version 5.0.2 LRX22G.
and i wish someone to help me and give me detailed instructions to which rom to download and also how to flash and i need gapps to so please keep that in mind and i'm greatfull to the person that helps me.
i used the windroid program to install TWRP and superSU now so i need to look for a stable rom now to flash if you have any tips please tag me
but i can't say it was easy to use the windroid program to do it i needed the xiaomi pc suit drivers to be able to flash the stuff and i hope this helps other redmi note 2 pro users out there to root.
I'll post my experience with phone and the roms I tried.
I bought it from merimobiles and it came with plenty of Chinese apps, overall pretty annoying... So I installed the development version of miui 7 (china version). Less bloat, but still the ui was a bit laggy sometimes, battery ok. After awhile battery started to drain much quicker, charging was slow and it got warm during usage (browsing).
Then I installed the CM12.1 build 5 from needrom (cyanogenmod-3) There's a thread going on about it.
I am very happy with this build: much faster, charging is "normal", phone doesn't get warm (I don't play games). There are things which don't work (see the discussion on the thread) - e.g. led notification is only red, but they don't bother me, for what I need, it's great.

Xiaomi redmi note 4 "problem"

Hi, I need some help with my device redmi note 4. Recently I was able to install TWRP and root, and with that I installed one of those hacking tools, game killer and game hacker. I gave them root permission and accepted some of the things they needed, until they asked for the floating icon thing, where I went to all the permissions of the application and I didn't found it, and when I saw that I rembered that, even before I unlocked the bootloader and all, I never had the floating messenger bubble, that I had in older devices. Does that mean that the MIUI I have right now, that it is development ROM MIUI 9 8.5.25, does not support those floating icons? And if it does support, how do I activate it?
I would really want to know this, thanks in advance.

Google camera not working - Downgrade from MIUI 10.1 - Queries about MIUI 9 version

Hi All!
I am using Redmi Note 4 (Indian version) since March 2017.
I updated to MIUI 10.1.1.0 through system update 2 days ago.
Earlier, my phone ran on MIUI 9.6 Global | 9.6.2.0 (NCFMIFD).
My phone is not rooted.
Like many others, I installed Google Camera as I was unhappy with the camera app provided by Xioami. I have been using the version Google Camera-Pixel2Mod-Arnova8G2 v8.3b for quite some time.
To install Google Camera, I unlocked the bootloader. After installation, I again locked the bootloader just to be safe.
There were no issues with the Google Camera app and I was happy with it.
However, after update to MIUI Global 10.1 | 10.1.1.0 Stable (NCFMIFI), the Google Camera stopped working. All I can see is black screen, when I run the Google Camera app. I am very disappointed with the update. I've searched a lot and realized that Google camera doesn't work in MIUI 10. Is there a work around for Google Camera on MIUI 10.1?
Camera2 probe app displays 'Level_3' under 'Hardware level support category'. 'Full', 'Limited' & 'Legacy' are all marked as 'X'.
Is it fine?
As per what I read online, I need to downgrade to MIUI 9 to be able to use Google Camera app.
Now, I have a doubt as to which version of MIUI 9 I need to download.
The official website of MIUI says the latest version of MIUI for Redmi Note 4 as V9.5.3.0.MBFMIFA (MIUI9), whereas the MIUI version on my phone prior to the update was 9.6 Global | 9.6.2.0 (NCFMIFD).
Which version of MIUI 9 do I need to download for a successful downgrade from MIUI 10.1??
Also, I read that the entire 64 GB of my phone storage would get erased during the downgrade.
So, is there a way to backup and restore all my phone data?
Request for kind help so that I can get back my phone to the desired configuration.
You need to search for a fastboot rom for it. either 9.6.3.0 images
Download 9.6.3.0
The one you saw I think is for Nickel(MTK Variant) yours is SD variant
U should download rom for Redmi Note 4X which is Indian variant!
Thank you. This worked.
Unfortunately, the mi backup & reset tool in MIUI didn't take the backup of my contacts and some other apps. However, I exported my contacts as a safety measure before flashing and it saved me.

Latest updates not showing?

Hello.
I'm still running MIUI 9 9.6.14.0 - the version which the Poco F1 (Global) came installed with.
A few months ago I've enabled the System Updater app and the phone found the MIUI 10 10.0.4.0 update.
However now we have newer updates like MIUI 10 10.0.6.0 and MIUI 10 10.1.3.0, but the System Updater app can't find them. How come?
Note that I wish to update directly to the MIUI 10 10.1.3.0 Pie version the official way, through the Updater app.
Is that possible?
I've tried clearing all data of the System Updater app and tried rechecking for the new update, but it always finds the 10.0.4.0 update.
Have a look at this thread and download the ROM from the server with the link provided in the XDA article. You still flash it with system updater
It used to be said that making serial requests for new updates (at least with Nexus phones) tended to delay updates being made available to you, but this could be an old geek's tale
Cool. I will flash it the way you suggested.
Do I need to wipe or factory reset when upgrading major OS version? If so, how do I do that?

Question Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 5G (Enuma) No New Updates?

Hello,
I just got the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 5G (Enuma) recently. It's on MIUI 12.5.1 , upon searching the net for new updates I noticed it's last software update was 08/13/21. It's kinda odd for a new CN Rom device to have late updates unlike it's WiFi siblings the Xiaomi Pad 5 (Nabu) and Pro (Elish)! Which is on MIUI 12.5.8.0. Any thoughts?
Also i was thinking do i need extra steps if i want to download the weekly recovery updates?
Like unlocking the bootloader? Signing up for beta? Any disadvantages?
Thanks.
Did you find a way to sign up for beta miui? Can't find a link to register
Nope , I don't understand why XIAOMI is treating the Pro 5G version less important than the WiFi versions! Until now it's still struck at 12.5.1.0
12.5.8.0 is now online! For Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 5G
Check the update? Enhanced Version
Yeah, they came out yesterday. but i lil bit fixed as i seen.
Hello, how is everything?
Has anyone managed to unlock the mi pad 5 pro 5 g bootloader??
I've already tried it, but unlock tools don't detect the device and when I use XiaoMiTool V2 it detects the tablet but then it gives an error when I go to unlock the bootloader.
