Evolution X ROM started bootlooping months after first install - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 / 5 Plus Questions & Answers

I've installed the Evolution X ROM (A12) on my Redmi Note 5 a while ago. The ROM worked well, it would only start bootlooping when the storage is full, which I always was able to fix by deleting Telegram cache (it grows to 1GB in a single day) and moving my photos to the PC
This morning I've found it bootlooping again, but it was too quick to get to settings to delete cache, so I put it in recovery mode and deleted cache from there, however the phone still only manages to boot to my lock screen and bootloops again after a few seconds. Even does it in safe mode. I've tried to move all my photos again from recovery mode, I freed up 16GB but it still does not boot.
Any non data destructive suggestions would be very welcome

Just tried dirty flashing it, and it still is not working.

[Q] Do I need to re-format (partition) my Tab?

Wi-Fi Tab 10.1, rooted and running Bonsai 0.2, all was well until it suddenly turned off on me (crashed). I turned it on, and as soon as I got past the lockscreen, a bunch of apps started force closing, and the box asking which launcher you want to use was flashing incredibly fast, on and off, so you could not use it. I also think I saw a "database error" message in the notification area.
I rebooted a few times with same result, so I rebooted to recovery, wiped data, wiped cache and wiped dalvik. Flashed Bonsai, and Tab runs fine now, with one exception. When it boots, for a few seconds, the top part of the screen (maybe the top 20% of the screen - a rectangle) is garbage - all different colors. The tab gets past this and works fine, but I am wondering if I should reformat the SD card, using the "Partition SD Card" option in the Advanced section of CWM.
And, if I do this, what are the correct settings?
Any thoughts?
That static screen you're seeing is a know issue. It won't hurt anything. But one way to get rid of it is...
1. Make a nandroid backup
2. Transfer that backup to your computer
3. Flash stock retail recovery ( http://db.tt/wSIvJp5 ) in download mode with Odin
4. Wipe data/factory reset in stock recovery
5. Transfer nandroid backup back to your tab.
6. Flash cmw
7. Restore your back up via cmw
No more static screen anymore.
Excellent, I will do that tonight.
Many thanks!!

[Q] Factory reset from settings --> boot loop

My daughter's i9300 started resetting itself without control. Today it got unmanageable and a successful boot became impossible.
Looking around, I found a thread suggesting that the power button switch is the culprit.
Indeed, after removing the switch, everything worked fine. Had major issues starting the phone, but eventually it started, so I was good to go.
I rooted it, installed latest TWRP and Resurrection ROM. The ROM was a random pick more or less, I had it on my LG G3 at some point and I wanted lollipop.
All fine and dandy, I was able to get into the phone. However, data wasn't wiped even though I selected it for wiping in recovery (probably didn't select the right thing...). So I went to settings and chose factory reset with wiping all data.
This lead to phone rebooting to recovery, but TWRP logo just flashes every few seconds without ever getting to recovery itself.
How can I make this phone work again? Any ideas?
Boot into download mode then flash a full stock rom with Odin. If that works then factory reset in recovery before testing.
You may find the firmware won't flash, as it sounds like your nand memory is worn.

My S3 is in a TWRP loop and the phone has a broken Charging/USB port

Hey all,
I installed Omega ROM v6.1 on my i9300 and for a while it was good.
Unfortunately one day it decided to crash and crash hard.
It was stuck in a boot loop and so I decided to wipe all the system, cache and factory reset in TWRP.
I then tried to reflash the ROM but it did not reinstall the full thing.
I believe this was down to the fact that I did not perform format data, as I have some mp3's on the internal storage that I wanted to save.
I tried to copy the files from the internal storage to the external micro sd card. This worked at first but then it quit part way through.
I thought this was due to the low battery so I charged and tried to resume. However whenever I tried to copy or move the files over to the external storage the next time it just failed.
I tried to do this a few times as I noticed it would work for a few seconds or a minute before quitting and so thought I could get them all eventually.
The total size of the folder is 2.4GB.
After doing this a few times my phone then decided to boot loop TWRP. It will sit on the startup screen of TWRP but when you try to do something it then resets.
I am running TWRP version v2.3.1.0.
As mentioned before I cannot connect my phone to a computer as the connection port is broken too.
Any help on this matter would be appreciated. I have searched the web for hours but found no such luck.
Kind Regards,
Shaun
You can try reflashing twrp but don't hold your breath.
Without the usb port the device cannot be flashed unless you have mobile odin, for which your device needs to be working.
The only other way is try holding all of the buttons on the device until it boots. Sometimes devices do a reboot when you hold all of the buttons. You must be exact and get all of them at precisely the same time. If no joy then the phone is goosed.
Thanks bro
Thanks for your help, a week or 2 later it decided not to turn on at all....
Think it's toast mate.
Just grabbed and s7 instead

Emmc error in boarddiag

Hello guys, hope you doing well... I've an serious problem with my main phone. First, thank you for taking the time to read my story.
I have an Sprint LG G3 32GB since 2 monts ago and it was performing very well. Then I've flashed Resurrection Remix and a custom kernel on it and everything worked perfectly until some days back. I came back from school and left my data opened since the morning and the phone was discharged. I putted it in charge and was sending some messages on whatsapp. I tried to play some music but the phone was not making any sound and it locked on lockscreen and wasn't able to unlock it. Thought it was an OS bug and tried to reboot. While trying I felt asleep and left the phone in charge. Some hours later, the phone won't just boot and in TWRP, it shows Internal storage OMB.
I've waited some time and tried again then it came and I've restored the KitKat stock ROM. After that, the phone started bootlooping and freezing in logo. I was always facing Internal storage OMB and corrupted partition (cache, userdata, system, etc...).
2 days after, I've managed to flash an stock and fresh install TOT via LG FLashTool. The first time, the process didn't worked and I re-tried and then it flashed successfully the phone rebooted to Factory Reset Status 2. I've rebooted and it started with the QHS 9008 Loader COM. I've used boarddiag and restoring stock partitions and tried to flash again via LGFlashtool but the phone will just reboot during flashing in Download Mode and come back in QHS Loader.
This morning, I've sucessfully restored everything and the phone even booted up. It was discharged so I turned it off and left it in charge. Since 3 hours ago, when I try to start the phone, it may freeze on LG Logo or just stay in QHS with everything black. Managed to try AP CHECK and EMMC TEST but AP Pass and EMMC gives me "Error while trying to read partition from EMMC". Basically, that means that my EMMC has fried out or have been damaged. BUT, SURPRISE, sometimes the phone will boot up normally and work for 2 to 5 minutes and power off again and going back to QHS.
NOTE:
-I can't access download mode
-I've flashed the ZV6 cause that's the only ROM who restored via boarddiag and flashed successfully via Download mode
- Also, I've remarked that in the storage page in settings, the phone will show 9GB available and put 21GB in MISC unusable. That's anormal...
THANKS YOU for reading until here.
This is my main phone, any help would be appreciated thanks a lot for responding.
SOLVED
Unmonted the phone and heated a little bit the EMMC chip and putted an small paper in other to make some pressure and remounted.
Everything worked nicely.
Am know facing unlocking issue

Phone stuck in Start-Logo after update

hello, I made an update from 0.21 to 1.7 /e/os and when the phone has restarted came message ,qualcomm crashdump mode". I then wanted to bring handy in recovery mode, but it came the normal recovery not twrp, then I have fastboot mode on and tried to flash twrp with PC (that did not work). I then changed to slot a (fastboot --set-active=a) and then i started recovery mode and then twrp came. I couldn’t see any data from the phone, not even that system is installed(in wipe there is only: Dalvik/ART Cache, metadata, Data, Internal Storage, Usb Storage and Vendor) and the size is not there either. I then tried to start the system from twrp and waited 2 hours and all the time it loaded (so the E logo with the dot at the bottom). What can I do?
The phone is OnePlus 7 Pro and it was rooted.
See this post. Let me know if it doesn't help.
