Hi all
Is it normal for the kernel to skip 2 low level frequencies that ate generally associated with efficiency cores?

It's likely the minimum frequency has been set to 556 MHz, it's the same on my device
I remember from oneplus 7 days that custom roms would include some unclocking settings in the rom and it always came with a warning that the device could crash. They said something about if the cpu goes too slow that it can make android bug out and restart and sometimes throw it into a bootloop.

I did it once on Asus Transformer xD I was try to use lowest possible and it crash while screen off and bootloop on me... Ahh that was a great day of ROM development. Kitkiss was my favorite. I even mounted Linux on that tablet... You remind me great days
Yes, gone are the days of ROM mods and kernel devs. There used to be a time when we could underclock/overclock the CPU through kernel tweaks...kernel panics...bootloops...I wish we could bring those good 'ol days back

With the introduction of the new Kernel for our phones, who is planning to push the limits of our processors and make it stable at 1720 mhz????

The ported illusion rom in the development section allows you to overclock to 1720mhz.
Sent from my AT100 using Tapatalk
That's the Kernel I'm talking about and the one that I'm currently using.
My question was, who will attempt to make their phone stable above 1600mhz...
I've been playing with voltage control all day and the most I can set it to is 1600mhz stable.
As soon as I go higher my phone freezes or reboots. Maybe my phone is not capable of this but I will keep trying.
anyway to flash that kernel on top of SHOstock?
I'm curious, but would you mind sharing your voltages, my phone freezes up and reboot on occasion with the ones I'm trying

The original thread in the I9100 forums has a link with the kernel for the I777

These are my settings
My phone likes to be OVed to remain stable. Every phone is different so you will have to find what works for you.
thank you!
Hello, I'm new here,
I cannot reply directly on the thread, and XDA suggest me to made a new thread in Q & A section
My Phone: Xiaomi Mi5 (gemini) 64gb ver
so let's begin, I had something that the same like in Cyanogenmod which is now is already dead, the bug is the same, when our phone after booting, the core count is still 4, 4 happy core for any benchmark and gaming.
but the problem is come when I turn off the screen then turn it on, the two "big" cores was in shutdown state and not able to turn it back, and even I push to do benchmarking or gaming, that 2 big cores still shut down..
take a look at this.. this is state where my phone fresh boot after flashing the LOS 14.1

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
and this is the state where the 2 big cores shut down after screen off..
I wonder if this was unperfected MPDecision, or do you (Mr.Devs) using Zen Decision (based on how Zen works in internet that says, no CPU hotplug or smth), or it's the kernel source that makes the problem (not stable or something etc etc)
this makes opening apps not as smooth as the past Cyanogenmod 13, I hope, my biggest hope to fix this issue..
Many thanks, Hail XDA Devs and all is XDAizen..
Up... No answer anyone?

Losing your games because of thermal throttling? Hit your wife and a single father now? Ho Ho Ho! Don't let that future actually come true! Introducing....
L A X X E D Thermal
OwO What's this? This is a simple yet effective magisk module which will turn your old NB1 into a Gaming **** Device! So what are you waiting for? Get this magisk module and start winning!
How does this actually work?
It simply makes your device throttle the least amount as possible. Don't worry, your phone won't explode. I've tested this for over a month with serious heavy gaming and nothing bad happened. Works on both Stock and custom Roms
Download Link
Requirements:
Magisk Installed
Device running Android 7+
How to install:
Flash the module in Magisk
Reboot
Now you can finally start winning, son.

And what does it do below its surface? (Actually how)
For stock or cr?

It'll make your device throttle the least amount as possible. It'll work on all Roms. And the link should be working now
I find that when tempreture reach some limits, some cores will be deactivated by system automatically, it will even deactivate the super core and two bigger cores which makes my device too stuck to scan a QR code. How can I prevent this? I already disabled the system app thermal control.
Hi, look at that post , new firmware patch coming

This is my log of LOLm. You can see my super core was deactivated. I rooted my device, running with Uperf performance mode and AsoulOpt (https://github.com/nakixii/Magisk_AsoulOpt)

Perhaps you have a defective unit, i sent mine to repair center, waiting for diagnostic
Good day and good vibes to all. There is a question, in our device the processor is blocked at the firmware level, there is a screenshot. miui firmware. Maybe someone can help somehow solve this question, there is a root. I tried and manually set the frequency of the cores, but the system does not give access, does not save the changes.

Try running Antutu and see then, it will probably boost to 2.84Ghz on MIUI. Worse thing for me was that in all custom roms that I tried, both CPU and GPU were downclocked and could not be set to default frequencies with Smart Pack Kernel Manager for example. However, I accidentally stumbled across this video Best Gaming Module | GODSPEED MODE V8 i.e. Magisk module called Godspeed Mode pling.com/p/1596710/ . Now I'm on Bliss Rom v15.8 and (almost) everything is fine - CPU is back to 2.84Ghz and GPU is on 710Mhz (see attached images).

Many custom kernels allow overclocking
Thanks for answering my question and giving me advice. I will definitely try them.
