LineageOS-19.1 microG For Moto G5 (Cedric)
With the rise of Big Tech and the encroachment of government into our lives , I felt more of a desire to move away from Google and the like.
Moto G5 (cedric) was built with microG and LineageOS source and is fully functional.
What it is. It's LineageOS with all of Google's closed-source binaries removed and replaced with microG. I.e. no Play services or GAPPS. UnifiedNLP is used as the networking location provider instead of Google's NLP. Aurora Store and F-Droid is installed by default and provides an alternative app store. However, with the Aurora Store, you cannot install all Google Play Store apps such as buy apps.
Other information
Google Play Store Alternative If you want to have full access to normal Android Play Store apps, After opening Aurora Store, select the appropriate option. usually option number 1 is the most commonly used with this ROM, unless changed by the user. After setup, you will have access to all apps as usual. Some apps require Play Services and cannot be used.
After installation - Open the microG app --> self-check sections should be successful. Location Services - By default, LocalGsmNlpBackend, which uses the NominatimGeocoderBackend, and NominatimNlpBackend, which uses Mapquest's Noninatim service, are disabled. Open the microG app --> location modules and enable the modules you want. Then restart the device.
It is strongly recommended not to install NikGapps as this ROM contains a replacement for NikGapps these are microG
What's working:

All my roms are created with a signed private key.
If you want to use the Lineageos recovery,
However, I don't know how the Lineageos recovery works as I have never used it on my other devices as I only use twrp.
Everyone is responsible for their own actions. Neither Team Xda, nor I, the creator of the theme, will take responsibility for any damage to your device caused by any Flash attempts.
This Rom consists purely of MicroG and has no Gapps or nikgapps.
I have here a few screenshots original from Moto G5 cedric.

You seem to have run into encryption issues.
Formatting is the best way to resolve that issue at the cost of loosing your data.
Id try to go back to the last known working state, boot up the system, take a backup externally and then reinstalling this rom, formatting the data partition and then restore the system.

I can't answer that as I have never used official lineageos your current rom is signed and mine and the signature of both roms are not identical.
If you use TWRP
Make a full backup of your current rom just to be sure.
You have to deactivate the signature check in TWRP if you want to install my rom.
But I am not 100% sure that it works,
You'll probably have to install clean.
Just test it out if it doesn't work you can restore your backup.
Or you can install clean and have to reinstall all apps via aurora store.
But please read my first post carefully first
Hi how can I use gapps on this I wanted to try repainted app as this rom dousnt have material u theming and the lockscreen clock feels a bit crocked
And the phone restarts suddenly
Animations are also jittery even when I put everything to 0.5x
Gapps on microg builds is really not a thing you should do.
Something might be crashing in the background
On the other hand the Moto G5 is weak and not really supposed to run those versions...
Will there be any bug fixes?
Network traffic monitor is not working.
.
Installation without problems, system runs smoothly. Issues: phone not encrypted, SELinux disabled.
Encryption should work, you can enable it in the security settings.
Note that you cant read your data in twrp once you do so.

Yes, encryption works if it has been enabled in the security settings.
But how to enable SELinux? After booting system shows this alert:

Well I didnt manage to create the proper selinux rules, so that the phone boots, so you cant do that.

Introduction
LineageOS 17.1 is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 10.0, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device. The port for the Exynos7580 based devices was created by @Stricted and I along with many contributions from other people in the Android community.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.
What worksCalls, SMS, Mobile Data
Camera
NFC
WiFi
Bluetooth
Torch
Sensors
GPS
SELinux Enforcing
HWCWhat doesn't work (official blockers)
IMS services (VoLTE, VoWiFi, etc). Samsung has their own proprietary implementation. It is not really possible to easily port that to LineageOS.
WiFi tether (hotspot) not functional fixed in 22/02/2020 release
HD headsets in call not working fixed in 21/01/2020 release
FP scanner has been reported unstable fixed in 22/02/2020 release
NFC HCE (GooglePay etc) fixed in 07/03/2020 release

Known Issues
If you are running the latest update and are not able to enroll a fingerprint you may need to clear the fingerprint data using this zip (flashable in TWRP): https://mega.nz/#!6YZV2QTY!hOYYwrbkTPfThUIJUffOEQWMosdCxeqy_7JdGpYp3AA
There are still quite a few features that are not yet completed for LineageOS 17.1, these are not bugs this is a beta release.
Any hardware related issues will be ignored if you do not provide:
a) Logcat
b) proc/last_kmsg
c) data/tombstones
d) dmesg
Also do not under any circumstances post bug reports if you are using substratum themes or unsupported magisk modules or you have performed any system modifications
Installation
Install the latest TWRP (Available Here)
Make a full backup (just in case something goes wrong)
Do a full wipe (Cache, Data, System)
If this is your first time on a LineageOS ROM format data
Download the latest LOS build and transfer it to your phone
Install LOS
If you are installing GApps do it at the same time (preferably in the same install queue)
And finally boot, the first boot can take several minutes as it optimises all the apps
Do NOT install the TWRP app when prompted, this will cause a bootloop Downloads

I think because the system partition has changed from /system to /system/system/ ? Weird
Now most of my apps like V4A cause a bootloop
Awesome job btw ?

Bugs I have faced:
- Pixel launcher and Trebuchet keep crashing the second I finish the setup process (especially Pixel Launcher), I had to disable them and install lawnchair to be able to use the phone
- disabling the default dialer also disables the call screen even if Google dialer is installed
I'm not using any mods except magisk
I'll report more bugs if I found them

NFC is tested and working.
Issues with google pay could be caused by anything from bad Gapps (OpenGapps are still in beta) to bad card details.
Does your phone pass SafetyNet?
(you can test this in Magisk)
Some mods people install break SafetyNet.
Are you able to make a log with matlog of a failed pay attempt?
I will need a verbose log from there, matlog removes sensitive information by default but send the log to me privately (usually people upload to google drive and send them to me)
Regards,
Danny

My advice would be to not install a gapps > nano. Opengapps is in beta so expect bugs.

In the following builds, please to add the full notification indicator settings, and the inclusion of on-screen buttons. In other assemblies, this is, so I think that it will not be difficult. Thank you for your work.

I want to suggest: add the microg by default in this build. you can consider: https://download.lineage.microg.org/bacon/ which it an official release that has built-in microg without any issue but I don't know why it's discontinued!
Because microg does not work properly in lineageos 17.1.
I am just testing with my Samsung S7 and lineageos 17.1 with microg, if it works I will also create a build with microg for the Bacon oneplus.

It works, I'm using it but with Magisk module: https://github.com/FriendlyNeighborhoodShane/MinMicroG_releases/releases
On android 10 the microg has famous issue permission.ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION:
https://www.reddit.com/r/MicroG/comments/f66d9c/network_location_unifiednlp_in_android_10_q/
anyway I prefer microg as built-in as system wide, so I'll so appreciate if you release it.

Thanks. So I will use another rom, unless your build works just fine with all Google services after flashing (no Magisk, Xposed or any other mess and confuration other than sign to Google). Can anobody suggest best LOS 17.1 (clean LOS 17.1 without any additions)?

It would be a better base without GAPPS. Why is it included?
crDroid is also an extension of Lineage OS.
But we miss a clean Lineage OS.
Even so, I like him and how it will be time, phone reinstall.

You can't. Our device doesn't allow post installation modules like gapps. I tried, so shipping with gapps is the only way here.

I also want to know that. If I ever want to install gapps it should be microG on a clean lineageOS image.
isn't it possible with magisk?
You can always install microG easily without flashing on any vanilla rom with signature spoofing.
Either from the free F-Droid store, just download the app via browser on the smartphone and install.
Then add the link to microG in it's repositories settings (https://microg.org/fdroid/repo).
Now you can search in F-Droid for all microG-components you want.
With this method you will be noticed by F-Droid when updates are available.
The other option is to get the apk-files from microg.org/download and install them on the smartphone.

Root, or from alpha twrp, remove these to convert it into vanilla :
/system/app/GoogleContactsSyncAdapter
/system/app/GoogleCalenderSyncAdapter
/system/priv-app/AndroidPlatformServices
/system/priv-app/GoogleServicesFramework
/system/priv-app/Phonesky
/system/priv-app/PrebuiltGMSCore
These are the only apps that I included for this gapps variant
Files cannot be removed.
Not even in TWRP (on ramdisk).
Not even on a rooted phone.
You have to remove them for us in system.ini.
EDIT: Another file manager enabled it in root.

It's been tested...System partition is R/W.
You can only remove, but can't add.
This rom? I tried it briefly.
I backed up my phone to Google.
But after running rom, restoring from this backup was not possible.
I decided to delete gapps. With TWRP installed on the ramdisk this was not possible. Rooting the system and installing the file manager did the trick.
I then installed the latest gapps test from sourceforge. It tried to restore from backup, but crashed.
So don't count on gapps support on this rom for now.

That's the reason I pre-included minimal gapps. If someone needs to have vanilla, they can able to remove gapps & possibly unroot.
The Gapps I installed worked.
Google backup recovery has crashed.
If I left it out, it would work.
But what didn't install at all was MindTheGapps
recommended by Lineage OS. https://wiki.lineageos.org/gapps.html
So something's not right in the build for the mojito.

The first thing you need to do is install the F-Droid store from the official source: https://f-droid.org/
Then you need to add the microg repository in F-Droid per the official instruction: https://microg.org/fdroid.html
Then, you need to click on the links on your Note 9 with F-Droid installed, and those magnet links will open F-Droid and bring you to the proper package for installation.

Good question! Baseband updating is flashing new drivers (closed source from Samsung) for your cell phone modem. It usually results in better efficiency and signal status, but is not required.

Hi.
Can I dirty flash this rom over my current unofficial Lineage OS 18.1 rom which is from another maintainer. (This one, https://forum.xda-developers.com/m/synt4x-93.7861769/)
He hasn't updated it for a year now.
If not, can I still use the twrp recovery or is lineage recovery a must now?
Thanks for your work.

LineageOS 18.1 (A11) microG For for S4 Mini GT-I9195(serranoltexx)
With the rise of Big Tech and the encroachment of government into our lives , I felt more of a desire to move away from Google and the like.
Samsung S4 Mini GT-I9195(serranoltexx) was built with microG and LineageOS source and is fully functional.
Other information Google Play Store Alternative If you want to have full access to normal Android Play Store apps, After opening Aurora Store, select the appropriate option. usually option number 1 is the most commonly used with this ROM, unless changed by the user.
It is strongly recommended not to install Gapps as this ROM contains a replacement for Gapps

Yes I turned it on. It could just be my poor location and poor cell provider, will change it and see if anything changes. I'm just glad that at least Sims work in this ROM unlike the other one. Thanks for that!
i just tested waze app on my samsung s7 with microg and it works for me. but i registered with my private email address not with gmail as it does not work under microg.
I just installed AppleWifiNlpBackend and everything is working fine now

Download with OTA works so far, it boots into TWRP, but than i have to go File manager , data , lineage updates and select the file .
If got installed TWRP 3.5.0.9 from arco68.
Or works that only with the newest TWRP 3.7.0.9 ?

Thx for the answer.
That means for using the OTA update we have to install to the latest TWRP Version.
Just flashed My Mini S4 with your LOSG 18 Rom , perfect so far !
Do you plan on becoming an official lineageos maintainer ?
This would change everything on the futur of this kind of phone which still works great !
No, I will not do this because the requirements for official support by the los team are not given.
What version of LineageOS is best for S4 mini? I now have 14.1-20180609 ( android 7.1.2) But for some reasons I now need a newer version of android.
I need a phone that works fine, it does not has to be the newest version.
Will my phone be slower with android 10 or 11 compared to 7? Or no different? Or is it some way to make it faster?
Does newer versions of android needs more memory than older versions?

Wow a new ROM for this great little phone, I hadn't noticed this thread.
Can it be dirty flashed over Arco's version so long as I update twrp?
[ROM][I9190/I9192/I9195/L520/R890][Unofficial][11.0.0] LineageOS 18.1 for S4 Mini
The phone that never dies, gets a new Android version yet again. Samsung only gave it Android 4. Lineage gives it Android 11. A whopping amount of 7 newer versions than the last official one it came with. This time I can present a usable build...

Imho it's not recommended as even if it works you can never be sure what causes problems if they arise.
Why don't you make a clean install and try to restore Data via TWRP (if you didn't flash Gapps in that ROM).
Gave this ROM a try.
Flashing clean, easy and fast 1st boot.
Installed some apps from SD and F-droid.
But from Aurora store I wasn't able to install Osmand what I need for cycling.
Tried several times but always got a parsing problem notice.
Was anybody able to install it?
Install Osmand via F-Droid

Installation worked but it's permanently crashing when trying to get past 1st step.
