Hi everyone! I just got the A7 Lite a few days ago. I'd like to run it in the most barebones way possible. What would be the best solution to get the best performance and least amount of bloat?
Run an AOSP GSI. Pure barebones vanilla Android with zero bloat
I'm not sure how much this will help performance though, I have a Tab A 8.0 that I'm running a Developer Preview GSI on and it's still slow as snot. There isn't much that can be done about crappy hardware.

Hello everyone,
I've been striving looking for a rom that works fine on the P4 but no luck so far.
I want to get rid once for all of the TouchWiz stockrom which is slow as hell and makes me want to throw the tablet against the wall. I've been flashing CM and few others but they are all quite buggy and made me want to go back to TouchWiz and hence increase my frustration.
Which is in your experience the best alternative to TouchWiz? I need something stable, fast, and that works!
Thanks
Davide
Have you been trying using latest kitkats? It looks like they made to work much smoother then ever before.
Currently there are 3 competitive kitkat roms. I think that nameless is fastest and most stripped out. Though there are some bugs, in my experience most custom roms were smoother and more stable than even ICS stock rom for about half a year
You can also look at this list of proprietary launchers: ru wikipedia org/wiki/%D0%A1%D0%BF%D0%B8%D1%81%D0%BE%D0%BA_%D0%BE%D0%B1%D0%BE%D0%BB%D0%BE%D1%87%D0%B5%D0%BA_Android
I haven't been using my tablet much since I picked up my HTC M8. I can definitely notice a difference. I just want to know the ROM that runs the best on this tablet. I prefer an aosp ROM but if a Samsung Rom runs better that's fine. I'm just trying to squeeze as much life as I can out of this thing. Im running Cyanogenmod 10 now but its run so slow.

I am also interested in a smooth running rom for my tab. I don't really care what android version it is honeycomb, ice cream, etc. I just want as many free ram as possible and as fast as possible.
For example, for my hd2 there was a cm8 barebone rom. I am looking for something like that
Thanks in advance
Are there currently oxygen os based roms available, or are developers working on these particular rom?
I see a lot of ported roms and cm based roms. The devices I used to have, would usually have a custom stock rom available. In which the stock rom would be more smooth and efficient. I personally like oos, I don't notice any bugs etc. But if it could be even better and efficient, it would be great.
Anyone knows if this is a work in progress?
++ I would appreciate this too, instead of spending time on something that takes time and energy why not optimize an already good stable product? I have very basic knowledge about how to make/cook/modify android system so I dont think im able to start a project by my self but i can give my time and phone for tests ^_^
p.s. something like arhd for htc devices, they do very good job indeed
Hydrogen fitd the bill for most. Might as well take it and modify it for yourself. I don't see an Oxygen based ROM as its already pretty minimal
I hope someone develop an oos based rom too.... with full Layers theme support...

Yes indeed something like arhd or sensation rom and other sort optimized stock rom. @RJDTWO It isn't just minimalising and debloating by app removal. It's more something like stock root and busybox, deodexed, gpu rendering, zip aligned, ext4, init.d permissions, ram speed and mounting tweaks etc.
Perhaps I will work on it, with a bit of study and spare time
Somebody or Anybody ???
I just bought an OPX second-hand from selling my titan . Is there any rom based on stock like the TurboROM for titan by @Vidhanth ??
mOOS is based on OOS just do a search for it in the forums
Hello everyone, I just bought this phone and I wonder if it shows a lot of difference when installing any of the roms that I have seen through this same forum.
The aspects that interest me to know are above all that such is the quality of the cameras in other roms, is there much difference in the battery? And how about the overall performance of the phone?
Finally I would like you to advise me what would be the best rom for this device and if there are links to other posts to root and install twrp (I am currently in stock 10, in case the procedures change)
Thanks for reading!

In my opinion, stock Android is really boring. You can't customize it or tweak it in any way. Evolution X has a better battery backup than stock ROM.
The camera performance in stock Android is fine. You can get even better quality with GCam. But, the oversaturated screen ruins the photography experience.
With evolution X, you can calibrate the screen. You can check out the values I use. ->https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a3/review/color-saturation-accuracy-t3962056/post82758721
In my opinion this greatly improves the overall phone experience.
I waited for a while before i flashed evox bcz I didn't want to miss on the ota updates and official support but those really suck and flashing a new rom is just much better and you don't loose anything really, for me everything works much better than stock rom, battery and performance are much better and the customisation is gold
I really liked the stock ROM, but for me the phone was randomly rebooting on Stock. This happened a few times while I was navigating while driving and it was infruiating so I made the switch. I'm quite happy with crDroid right now, since it has less bloat even than the stock ROM, but if you're not having any issues on stock, I'd suggest to stay on stock because there is a learning curve with flashing custom stuff on every phone, you will have to brick your phone a few times to properly install a custom ROM and that requires time + patience. For me it was worth it, since the phone doesn't randomly reboot anymore.
In my opinion, the best custom rom till now is MIUI 11 with Magisk installed. It's super fast + tons of great features. I'm sure we'll get MIUI 12 also, since its been released for CC9e. Give it a try and you'll love it.
Changing ROM is good, personally I bought this phone because of Stock Android with minimum bloatwares. However with stock Android comes a price of customizations. With a custom ROM, you can achieve all that and still control many features of your phone. I have changed ROM to EvolutionX and it's pretty good ROM which I am using as a daily driver. It got some bugs thought but so does stock Android 10 ROM.
I was wondering if given the fact this phone was released with Android 10 and all custom ROM seem to be built from this I have also seen Android 11 build, and I wonder if it would be possible to compile a build of Android 9.0 Pie that would work well with the Moto G Power?
Or is there some kind of difference between the drivers and sources provided by Motorola to make this possible, if not what are the barriers to accomplishing this?
The reason I would like a 9 based ROM for my phone is it seems to have all the features I want and uses a lot less memory than Android 10.
I had a Moto G7 Power before this and it had 3gb of ram and ran Pie, the free memory I had to use for opening games and apps is about the same amount I have on my new 4gb device running Android 10. I also noticed the increase while testing an Android 10 based ROM on the G7 Power a while ago.
"free" RAM doesn't mean much. It certainly isn't a good indication of actual performance.
If you have RAM that's just sitting around unused then it's pretty much just wasted until you do something that's gonna use it.
The OS caches anything it can to help you have a smoother system with faster loading times. Any modern OS does that, and Android is no exception. I'm not sure if this changed in between android 9 and 10 tho, but I know there's a **** ton of nitty gritty settings and parameters for the cache behavior so that is possible, but it's pretty much reserved for the guy that makes the ROM.
have you tried lineageos on it yet? I use crdroid myself, which was my daily driver ROM back on my lg g3 lol. It feels pretty much just like home for me

I understand that, but even still with 1 GB additional in my upgrade I should be able to switch between a game and an app or two more than before, but they still close even when set to disable battery optimzation off, the real world usage suggests there is less available ram and more taken up by the system.
Also does anyone have an answer to the actual question i am curious?
