Question US variant S23 Ultra in Canada - Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

I live in Canada and bought a US variant s23 Ultra. Two things I have noticed,
1. Wifi calling can be configured in my provider end (Virgin), and when it ask to complete the setup by turning on wifi calling it does not work.
2. Samsung pay is not working.
Has anyone faced any sort of issues after flashing SM-S918W firmware in SM918U1?
Any cons??
Also, my apps will be wiped or no? I have already seen that I can keep data intact while flashing with Oidin.

Wi-Fi calling won’t work on the U1 (neither with VoLTE) in Canada except on Rogers. Bell and Telus whitelist W model IMEI numbers. Even if you flash the W firmware it won’t work.

If this is the case. Was this a recent change? VoLTE used to work fine as well as 5G using my old OnePlus 8T+ 5G. It honestly wouldn't surprise me but if this is actually happening. I hope everyone files a complaint with the CRTC over their anti-competitive behavior. I won't be able to try mine out until i get back to Toronto after Easter but I will be reaching out to their Executive Team directly if this is the case and consider returning my 6 lines to Rogers.

It was a change sometime last year. CRTC wouldn't do anything because they said it's their network and they can choose what devices they allow to use. CRTC is a joke

It used to be that way about SIM locking devices too. Sometimes things can change for the better. Especially if enough people complain about the same issue.

I tried submitting a CCTS claim but they sent me back the requirements and there is a specific section about devices on their network and how that's exempt. The only way might be writing your MP to voice your complaint. I agree if enough people complain maybe they will do something but I won't hold my breath. In my case I switched carriers to Rogers since I didn't want to give up my U1 device but I know not everyone is in that position.

I need a device compatible with mt T-Mobile SIM and Telus. US devices are much more compatible globally in my opinion and T-Mobile's roaming rates make Canadian carrier rates look like a joke in comparison.

100%.

telus/kodoo wifi calling did not work for me and the phone was from Telus!
Had to switch to Rogers.
I do remember that my previous phone (online bought) was not supported by my carrier for Vowifi, and I found on the carrier forum how to push it with ADB. It worked, can't remember exactly the steps it's been a while

You cannot use a US S23 Ultra with a Canadian SIM card, but you can use International Data Roaming with a supported US carrier.
(This is a MAJOR change for 2023 and beyond. Samsung is putting the final nail in the coffin to end foreign SIM card support on US Galaxy devices, even after a network unlock.)

I did similar with the OnePlus 8T+ 5G. Using QPST, you change the carrier profile for the SIM. This also worked on my Xiaomi Mi MIX 3.

Samsung doesn't care. As long as you buy their phone, they get your money. I am going to have a conversation with the Telus Executive Team this week about this. I want to know what exactly is done. If it's white listing as mentioned. Then they can lock my device ID to a previously sold Telus device to keep these features active on my s23 Ultra. I had this done with my old Rogers s9+ on AT&T that was flashed to keep WiFi Calling and VoLTE working for that device while she used it.

good luck with Telus, I spoke with many people to get the freaking Vowifi option enable, and nothing can be done. Ive pposted on all possible forums to let people know.
Even the engineer team was aware of that and they didnt care.
Sad I personally know the ex VP of telus, but now retired...

I spoke to one of the senior network engineers at Telus after confusing my contact in the Telus Executive Office. What I was told...
Devices are not provisioned by IMEI but are by device model. So even a W flashed U or U1 will still show up as what it is because of the one unchangeable CSC. The crock about having to test devices before the model gets approved is a typical line but that is their excuse to limit what devices fully function on their network to help encourage customers to buy from Telus. However, devices and devices models will be added as time passes. I sent the engineer the IMEI's for my TMB U s23 Ultra and this is what I was told.
Not vetted yet but as explained to me over the phone. Devices and device model variants will be added to the vetted list over time. This practice was implemented less than a year ago now. There is no ETA for this and I am not aware of any way to bypass the IMS vetting list. Device refreshes take place every few days.

I thought it was funny. He's loving the phone so far! Does anyone else have this dev edition?
Semi-related: We're on AT&T and have a shared data plan, and tethering is allowed by AT&T. Is there a hidden hack he can do to enable it? The phone will not allow it right now, and AT&T can't help him out because they don't 'have' the phone.
Yep, same here - got mine at Build.
But I'm on Sprint so I can't just move my sim over.
It may live out it's life on just WiFi.
it's a slick phone, that'd be very sad to hear.
I was at build also. I spent 2 hours with AT&T techs yesterday, and could not successfully get internet sharing working.
I'm getting a feeling that the firmware on the build phone isnt final, and we may have to wait for a firmware udpate.
To get internet sharing to at least load without saying call at&t or that it wasn't supported, I had to configure a new apn named "broadband". None of the pre-configured apn settings work for tethering.
But once I did that, I can connect to the hotspot, but the phone does not want to route any data through it. So devices connect, but cannot connect to the internet. Its quite odd, and the AT&T techs were stumped.
It probably lacked AT&T's specific module for tethering. You may need to 'upgrade' to AT&T official ROM.
Broadband APN is tied to your account. When you are eligible to use tethering, it get enabled. So, I'd double check the account setting on AT&T side.
On Android phones, I know tethering is secretly routed through a hidden broadband APN built inside ROM's SQLite config database while normal phone connection is routed throuh ptr APN (for LTE). With a rooted Android phone, you can change the hidden APN back to ptr and get around the tethering account requirement.

All LTE phones require a SIM card. But for Sprint and Verizon, currently they run phone calls and SMS on CMDA side and data on LTE side. So the SIM card for Sprint and Verizon are in fact data only. Verizon is actively testing Voice over LTE and promised to deploy them in near future. When that happens, CDMA will no longer be used. Everything will be over LTE. But that is long way to go.
On the other hand, this phone actually works with T-mobile 3/4 G as well (it is penta-band unlike the AT&T retail version). So, you can as well get a prepaid account for T-mobile. There is no Sprint WP8 phone come out anytime soon.
Just out of curiosity, when you start the phone up, do you have a carrier splash screen?

I've got a Lumia 900 on the account, and tethering is enabled, and that works fine. if I'm not using the broadband APN, it actually tells me I have to call at&t or go to the AT&T web site (giving me the exact url) to add the service to my account. So I'm not sure why it actually doesn't work on the 920.
Hopefully someone will figure it out at some point.

No, it is a dev phone not specifically designed for AT&T. You can't even get cell data connection before you make a manual selection of APN for AT&T.

That is because your Lumia 900 is an AT&T branded phone. This one is not. And AT&T has special requirement/software for handling tethering. If I would make a guess, AT&T uses Broadband APN to test if you qualify for tethering but use ptr (for LTE) for actual data transmission once verification passed. You actually have to have a USB broadband stick on your account to use Broadband APN for data transferring.

I suspect that is true because when I first powered it up, it defaults to Canada region settings and time zones.
Anyway, I played with different manual APN settings. It seems that the phone firmware is hardcoded not to allow tether for both PTA APN (for LTE) and Phone APN (for HSPA+). Any other APN will be ok but my phone with my current account settings (unlimited data) won't let me use either AT&T 3G APN (wap.cingular) or anything else for internet connection. So the end result is the same.

For anyone wondering, my dad figured out the tethering. Oddly enough, he installed the Spanish keyboard and Internet sharing turned on. Weirdest thing ever but he claims it worked. You can change it back to English after. He found this on some forum post he said. Regardless, problem solved!

Thank you! Adding a keyboard (in my case, I added Spanish(Mexico) causes the phone to download an OTA update. After the update process finishes, the tethering works without changing APN. So, now I can freely tether my tablet to it on my unlimited data plan!

sadly, this didn't work for me on AT&T. I tried both Spanish updates, but still cannot tether.
There is a lot of attention regarding this Dev Kit due to the fact that is PentaBand.
Hopefully Microsoft and/or Nokia USA will make this model available, maybe over the Microsoft Stores?

Did your phone go through a few reboots to apply the update? Which APN is your phone configured to use? This Dev phone comes with 3 preconfigured APN for AT&T:
* AT&T LTE1
* AT&T LTE2
* AT&T 3G
Only AT&T LTE2 will fully function for this phone.

I seriously doubt it. They need carrier's approval to sell anyphone with carrier's LTE support. Take a look at Google's new Nexus 4 dev phone, it contains no LTE what so ever. The last gen Galaxy Nexus with LTE is a Verizon branded phone and can only be purchased via Verizon.
Installing either version of the spanish keyboard did not allow tethering. My APN settings just say "AT&T" . The difference is my phone was from AT&T so it probably has some other lock on tethering. More details on how this was done would be helpful unless it just isn't possible for me. I was already prepared for not having tethering with my unlimited plan anymore with my lumia 920 (came from android where custom roms allowed for tethering) so here's to hoping it is possible at some point.
This thread is about the special dev version ms gave out at BUILD2012 conference. Not the AT&T retail version.

Samsung Galaxy Note8 USA Carrier Unlocked - General Thread (SM-N950UZKAXAA)

I think the carrier unlocked Snapdragon Note8 is the best option for people in the USA, more specifically people using CDMA carriers.
From what I undersand you can use your hotspot as a normal feature without any additional fees, without root.
No bloatware is installed including carrier specific apps, eg. Verizon Voicemail. I don't know if the missing bloatware will be available to download from the Playstore.
You lose Wi-Fi calling features because it has it's own firmware, with the exception of T-Mobile.
From what I understand you can ODIN your carriers firmware to gain all the missing carrier specific features and bloat but you will probably lose the free hotspot. I don't know if you can go back to the unlocked firmware after that.
If I'm missing anything or have any errors please comment and let me know! :highfive:
ALSO NO ROOT
which makes it useless to me

Not actually true on T-Mobile: Wi-Fi Calling works on T-Mobile with the unlocked firmware. Apparently other carriers are more strict and limit it to their specific firmwares though.

Yes
I just woke up from the nightmare of the unlocked version, which I had dreamed of for years. Even though I called Samsung and Verizon in advance, they both assured me wifi calling would work. It did NOT, and Samsung tech told me just yesterday they had just become aware of that shortcoming, and it only pertains to Verizon customers. Works on all other carriers. In addition, no Verizon visual voicemail, although there are other, less desirable options in the Playstore. However, there was no notification received if I had any incoming voicemail messages. It just added up to too many things, and I had to compromise my firm stand on an unlocked phone. Too many cons to offset the pros. People on other networks than Verizon might not mind, or those not requiring wifi calling. Sent phone back and will have to get Verizon version. Still getting over the N7 loss. Samsung, I love you less and less.
I feel like this is the first time I've seen Verizon being supported on an unlocked version in the USA. But it probably started with the S8.
There are a pretty good amount of bugs to be "compatible with Verizon Wireless".

You can still flash the Verizon firmware and it is as if you bought the Verizon version....even get OTA updates from Verizon...
I was thinking to flash unlocked firmware to my t-mo branded phone, but I don't see much T-mo bloatware and some can be disabled anyway. Is there any chance somebody could take a screen shot of system applications on unlocked phone for comparison? Maybe some things are hiding under obscure names.
I hope we are slowly moving towards one hardware, one firmware for all carriers with carrier specific programs downloaded after purchase as a voluntary update maybe? Already ,as it is, we can cross flash firmware from all carriers, what we should be able to do is to just flash carrier specific modem and few carrier feature programs and be done, without touching base firmware at all.
I've got everything working on mine besides VVM & WiFi Calling; wish I could have my cake & eat it too!

IMEI issue and no LTE on AT&T for V30+ (U998U)

I just got my V30+ unlocked from B&H Photo after they dropped the price to $775. I love the phone so far, but getting it registered has been a pain in the butt. I'm posting my story here in case other people are going through the same thing.
Cliffs: If you are registering a V30+ on AT&T on an existing account, I'd suggest NOT telling AT&T your new IMEI. Just move the old SIM over or ask for a new one but don't tell them you got a new phone.
If you are registering for the 2nd Year Promise and your IMEI is "incorrect," you will need to email your invoice (showing the IMEI and purchase date) to [email protected].
Long story: No 4G LTE on AT&T
After got the V30+, I took it to my local AT&T store to get a new nano SIM card, my old Galaxy S5 had a Micro SIM. The guy registered it for me and put in the APN settings. However, he couldn't get any data to come through, not even 3G or 4G. The guy said my IMEI wasn't being recognized by AT&T. He messed around for about 20 min, then finally said he changed the IMEI number in my account to a different phone (not sure what phone) and then after restarting the phone got 4G. I left the store, then realized I still had no LTE, but the store was closing so I decided to wait and see. I double checked to make sure the APN was correct and the network mode was set to "LTE/GMS/UMTS" and not "Global"
The next day I still had no LTE so I went to a different AT&T store and the guy checked my APN settings again and updated the IMEI in my account back to the V30+. 4G was still working with no LTE after rebooting. He said he added some "code" to my account and told me to wait 30 min to see if the LTE starts working (I have no idea what he actually did). Of course it didn't work so he told me to call tech support.
After about 30 minutes on the phone waiting, the tech support person told me my V30+ wasn't compatible with AT&T LTE and that there was nothing else they could do since I bought it unlocked.
I called LG tech support just to see what they'd say and of course they said it was my carrier's fault and that the phone should work on LTE.
After that I did some more research online, I found some information for a similar LTE/IMEI issue on the OnePlus 5T. Since I'm new here, I can't post a link but you can just Google "oneplus 5T no AT&T LTE" and it's the first result.
After reading that and a few other forum threads, it made sense. I checked my AT&T account and it wasn't showing a device name for my line, it just said "Device" instead of the model of phone. I put the new SIM back in my Galaxy S5 and my S5 didn't have LTE either (it did before I started all this). So with this info, I went back to the AT&T store and told the guy (different one again) I wanted to switch the IMEI in my account to my S5 (then after I leave, I'd put the SIM in my V30). However, he told me the phone on my line was already set to my S5....contrary to what I saw on my account page. So i explained the whole story to him and he decided to try updating my IMEI again, and of course still no LTE. Then manager came over and then tried updating the IMEI a 2nd time, when it didn't work he then said I was probably getting LTE but that a lot of the new phones don't say "LTE" in the status bar anymore. I knew that was bull crap, so I pulled up the network status that showed I was on HSPA. So then he scrolled around on his tableau for a few seconds...and then all of a sudden I glanced back at the phone and it had the LTE symbol.
In the end, I have don't know what fixed the issue, the 2 guys at the AT&T store said they didn't do anything special, they just tried adding my IMEI again. I suspect maybe someone at AT&T needed time to confirm my IMEI or something and add it to their database, when my LTE finally started working it was almost exactly 24 hours after I first registered it.
Registering for the 2nd Year Promise:
I have a 15 digit IMEI for my unlocked U998U. I tried registering for the 2nd Year Promise but the page was telling me my IMEI was incorrect. I even tried dropped the last digit and it didn't work. I called the customer support number, (888) 959-5175 and the woman told me that my IMEI wasn't in their system yet. She told me to email them my invoice (that shows my IMEI) and they would add my IMEI manually so that I can register it.

I have two B&H Photo US998 V30 and V30+ phones on AT&T with no issues. I told AT&T in-store rep: "You also sell the LG V30. Say it's yours."
I told them that when I walked in the door, before I even handed then the phone. I didn't give them a chance to tell me whether or not it was compatible. Of course it's compatible. That wasn't even part of the discussion.
They registered it -- or whatever you want to call it -- as an "AT&T LG V30" which of course is in their database.
They still needed the serial number, but I don't think they used the IMEI.

That's kinda weird.
I used to work for AT&T before (almost 7 years ago) and there are times that the phone model is not recognized in the system even if we put the correct IMEI.
As for the 4G/LTE issue, please check your plans. In my time with them, the data plans for 4G/LTE is different from the 2G-3G plans. I think they messed up your account if 4G/LTE is not available on your S5 as well or maybe it's a faulty sim.
Your phone is supports the bands of AT&T.

Yeah, it was definitely weird, I never thought it would be so difficult to get the LTE working. It could be something with my plan, I had LTE with my S5, maybe the first guy messed with my plan when he tried to register the V30 and someone changed it again before it started working, I don't know. I doubt it's a faulty SIM as I've been using the same nano SIM during the whole process, and now LTE works on both the S5 and V30 with the same SIM.
Overall this was a huge pain and I hope no one else has this same issue. AT&T can be frustrating, especially after seeing the issues people had with other unlocked phones. I'm considering switching to T-Mobile as their plans are cheaper and some friends say the signal and speed are pretty good in my area. Hopefully they will be better than AT&T.
Switch to T-Mobile save money and your phone will work without issue
anyone have any issue after the recent update? I cant seem to access mobile data after the update. I will get the mobile data at first then suddenly it stoped working. Wifi is working great and everything else is working great. I have research online and found that some Oneplus 5 and Pixel have similar issue after upgrading to Oreo and the fix is to reset the APN. Work for some while not all. My varient is the LGM v300K which i bought from Korea.

These phones work on AT&T without issue. I have used three of these "open market LG US998" on AT&T -- both V30 and V30+ -- all bought from B&H Photo. Using two daily, and the third was initially my daily phone. See LTE speed below.
And I probably pay less than you.
$37.50 per month for 6GB high speed data/unlimited calls/unlimited messaging.

While I'm not a T-Mobile customer, I am fan -- because they've caused the other carriers to lower prices and improve service. But I'm very happy with AT&T Prepaid, which gives you lower prices (since you own your phone) but still gives you excellent "post paid" speed and in-store customer service. (Warning: just stay away from their "unlimited" plan which caps your speed. Go with the 6GB plan, which gives you the same unlimited speeds of postpaid customers.)
There's no problem using these phones on AT&T. The guy just got some incompetent rep who messed up his account. It could happen with T-Mobile too...

Yes, that's definitely the case. Now that my LTE is up and running, everything has been great. However, I am still considering switching to T-Mobile because of cost/value reasons, their unlimited plans are intriguing.

Hi, do you have Volte enabled. If so, why doesnt the volte indicator show up in the noficication bar? I'm asking because I have the same issue, my carrier confirms that they've enabled Volte for my device on their end.
Also, your 4g indicator says 4gLTE, wheras mine only says 4g all the time. LTE Discovery shows that I'm on LTE band 40.
Can you throw any light on this? H930DS.
is your account does it shows up as LG v30? mine US998 keeps showing up as unknown device with the IMEI, and ofc no LTE only HSPAP

LG V30 (931S) Unlocked ATT phone on Metro issues with signal strength and Hotspot

So I purchased an almost new V30 and got an ATT unlocked phone for a good deal off of ebay. I've been noticing signal issues vs my previous cheapie Samsung J7 and now can't get wifi calling or mobile hotspot to work. Any insight would be fantastic. I haven't rooted a phone in a while so I'm a little leary on that if I don't have to.
I am not familiar with Metro, but I suspect much like ST that their ToS do not allow tethering. It is also doubtful you have native tether with a carrier branded phone. Rooting is pretty easy if you have a PC, quality USB cable, and patience to read and follow the very well written WTF guide, link below. Switching to either stock US998 or an AOSP rom will get you tethering. Liquid Remix is well-regarded by many.

That is my frustration. I get 5 gigs of mobile hot spot included every month. So It's a loss not to have it. Would rooting improve signal strength. I'm certain it's an LG software issue rather than hardware.
My service is over Verizon's towers so it is hard to give you a firm answer. What I can say is that the open market US998 is rated for service on ATT. US998 firmware will rid you of the carrier dongles and bloat. That said, there are some quirks about signal strength and sms for some cross-flashing cases. Hopefully someone in the know will comment for you. You can also browse the WTF forum.

You sure H931 is carrier unlocked? If so, then it's probably already been flashed to US998... That's the way most carrier unlock the H931.
Converted to US998 it will work on T-Mobile/Metro just fine.
You don't need to root, if you don't want.
Well the reason I posted the thread was because yes I have been able to activate it, but my signal is far worse on this flagship phone I'll be at a year-and-a-half old then it was on my Cheapo three-year-old Samsung j7. LTE Discovery doesn't even show GSM on this phone for me. And as I said I can't get any wireless hotspot.
Any idea why I'm not showing any gsm signal on lte discovery?

I would Frankenstein it to US998. You'll get rid of the AT&T bloatware.
Also make sure it's on LTE/HSPA/GSM mode not global mode or something.
It doesn't even show gsm signal. Wish I would have done more research on which variant to buy because it sounds like this att version won't even accept aosp
How do I make sure it is on LTE/HSPA/GSM rather than global?

I don't think mine offers that option. I've actually been reading your thread about the secret menu selections. I think my big concern is with this phone being that it's the AT&T variant from what I'm reading I can't install custom roms I can only go rooted and remove bloatware or go with Factory style ROMs. I really do appreciate all your responses. I think we talked about this but with a custom rom would it address the issues that I'm having with signal? I really don't believe that it's a hardware issue I'm pretty much certain it's that LG has crappy modem software
What do the hardware and software info tabs show in Setttings>System-About Phone?

Rev 1.0 for hardware version. Lg h931.
Software is 7.1.2 AT&T shows that I'm do an update for Oreo, but obviously the phone is on MetroPCS at this point. I'm a somebody that loves to mess with things The Tweak little things here and there so I want to fix the handset because I think the build and the hardware fantastic I'm just frustrated immensely by the fact again not to repeat myself but for the third time that a cheapo Samsung j7 my old phone and my wife's j7 Prime both get far better signal strength. And I'm also immensely confused by the fact that when I look at LTE Discovery it shows nothing under the GSM window.
I suspected as much. So you have a carrier dongled phone from ATT and are surprised/frustrated it doesn't work? What the j7 does is not relevant
Forgive me for being terse, but you have all the information at hand to decide what to do.

I have excellent signal.
Let's forget about custom ROMs for a minute. Let's try to improve your signal. Installing custom ROMs is another discussion altogether and has nothing to do with improving your signal, getting LTE or anything. There's nothing in custom ROMs that will improve signal strength to my knowledge. It's using the exact same radio firmware as stock.
You are on 1-year old Nougat firmware, not the latest most recent available. I would recommend converting to carrier unlocked "open market" US998 firmware -- which is designed to work with ALL North American carriers, while the H931 is designed to work with AT&T -- and then updating to US998 20G (January 2019 security patch). It's the only way you are ever going to be able to update your firmware -- yes, which has newer modems.
You can do that, see if your signal improves -- then you can decide if you want to unlock bootloader and root. Yeah, to unlock bootloader you would have to then temporarily downgrade back to 20A or 20B, but I really want to keep this discussion focused on signal strength for now.

I have LTE Discovery and use it all the time. I have never seen this "GSM Window" you keep talking about. Are you saying you saying you on not LTE or HSPA at all?
What does it show under the "Signals" tab? Give us a screenshot. It should show LTE or HSPA and show dBm signal strength. It should also show closest tower distance and GPS coordinates and how many satellites are available. (I have 12 GPS satellites available with less than 3 meters accuracy.)
Also, when you do a speed test, what is your speed?
These are not my screenshots, it's from another thread where someone was having problems. I just wanted to show you the "Signals" tab I'm talking about...
Mine looks exactly like the screenshot that you posted. So you see there's an LTE chart on the left and a GSM chart on the right? That's what I'm referencing. So I guess my question would be how can I update now that I've got an AT&T phone on Metro

But GSM isn't going to show anything, unless you're on GSM. What does LTE show?
The only way you're going to update is to Frankenstein convert to carrier unlocked variant like US998 that has public KDZ releases , which you flash with LGUP. H931 doesn't.

How To Guide How To FIX Google Pixel 6 Connectivity & Signal Loss Issues

So Google released the much awaited December update with more than 100 fixes and I have tested some of the newest fixes in and out. Some users now report signal loss and connectivity issues with the December Update, specifically users from Europe and in none supported countries where Pixel 6 is not offered officially, but not only - also official countries users are complaining.
The is a reddit thread where vachezoub suggested a very easy fix for connectivity issues and signal loss and it seems it`s working already for several users! So let`s check this FIX and let`s apply it in this video!

Thanks for the feedback man!
If not a secret, where are you from?
Asking cause I am from Bulgaria, Europe, where the Pixel 6 is not sold officially hence no profiles from the carriers, and it`s a mess - like I said in my video - no 5G (which I can live w/o) but no VoLTE and VoWifi - for the VoLTE I am very much dependent on it as I do a lot of voice calls from mobile while browsing using data and with VoLTE it`s a pleasure and now w/o and the Pixel 6 I am using H+ and it`s... slow
It`s definitely better for myself as well!

Yep, I am following the other topic - I would probably root just to get the VoLTE, dont care so much for 5G... but it`s very disappointing - and it was not like that with Pixel 4 and etc.

Hi everyone, I had the same issue with my Pixel 6 Pro and tried everything that you guys mentioned but nothing really worked.
But in another thread I read that it was possible to install the android 12L and android 13 beta modem.img in the public android 12, after that I proceed to install it and it fixed my issue at all, finally I have my P6P just the way it should be without signal dropping when calling and everything working just fine, network speed increased too.
I have these config:
-Android 12 June update.
-Unlocked bootloader.
-Rooted with magisk 25.1
-Installed android 13 beta modem.img vía fastboot.
I leave the modem files, hope it helps you.

I have the same issue on daily basis. I have at least 30 calls per day and every 2nd or 3rd call has to be repeated. I tried to compare my P6 pro with midranger phones with the same network carrier (I used network cell info lite app) and their signal is so much better (per example - 75 dBm, while p6 pro has -90 or above -100 score). I use it in dual sim mode, and there's no difference between eSim and classic physical SIM in signal strength. I DON'T KNOW HOW TO SOLVE THIS. I SEE THAT MANY OTHERS HAVE THIS PROBLEM SINCE DECEMBER 2021, AND I'M NOT AN OPTIMIST THAT GOOGLE WILL RESOLVE THIS (I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT THEY DIDN'T DO THAT FOR ALMOST A YEAR). I live in Serbia, where pixels are not in the official carrier sale.

Did you try to use only 2G to one of your two SIMs? Enter to *#*#4636#*#* and lock the one sim to 2G.
If you have unsupported carriers in your phone, is very common. Try the trick above it might help.

I would definitely root simply to gain the VoLTE; I don't care as much about 5G. However, it is quite upsetting because it wasn't like that with the Pixel 4 and other devices. One of my friends lives in the Netherlands, where Google does have a store, but the Pixel is not available there.

As I know pixel 4 doesn't have 5G and there wasn't 5G antennas so as to abolish the 3G ones, as happeining right now.
The users of supported countries have less related issues. Here is the map till now.

I did that. Thank you! It increased the signal strength on the other SIM by 30%. That solved one problem, now I have one more left, because my main SIM (eSIM) is still bad with signal and I can't set it to 2G because I have constant need to be online via LTE network. The phone store don't accept the return of the device through the warranty because when I took the phone to the city center where the shop is located, it catches an excellent network signal, and they say everything's fine, but as soon as you go outside the center (even just two blocks) everything is much worse. At one web page, I saw a comment where a man says that this is a problem of 30% of total users of P6 pro, but I didn't find any other posts about specific product series which has that problem.

This sounds your carrier's problem. In general, pixels have strong signal comparing to other expensive phones. Apart from the fact that they have interruptions etc.
So, the strength might come from the bad covering from your carrier.
The last suggestion that I can give to you is to swap the eSIM to SIM.

Thank you. I will try to put SIM from another carrier to check if that works. But before I switched my physical SIM to 2G, the signal from that SIM and eSIM were the same (bad). And both of them are from the same carrier at this moment.

Try the sim in another dual phone.
Try another carrier in your phone.
Try a factory reset after the tonight's update.
