LineageOS is a free, community-built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 6, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.

Personally, I'd follow the instructions below as they were the last time Karthick mentioned how to make the switch from RUI1 to RUI2. However, I am not certain because I just came from stock RUI2 to this firmware and the information I gave you might not be up to date anymore. Good Luck!
Karthick Chandran said:
Instructions for starters from rui1 firmware:
1. Flash rui2 firmware of your variant listed below
CN firmware only file: RUI2.0_F.10_RMX1931CN
Global firmware only file: RUI2.0_F.14_RMX1931L1
2. Flash rui2 supported recovery Recoveries for RUI2
3. Reboot recovery
4. Flash lineage-19.1 package & Google apps
5. Format data

Thanks, in the end I did that, I followed Karthick´s instructions and flashed latest LOS18.1 and after that I flashed TWRP 3.7.0 and followed instructions from this post to flash LOS20.
In the process I had a problem though, I couldn´t format data (error shown in the picture attached), I tried also by wiping System, Vendor, Cache, ODM to no avail but it was solved by formatting userdata in fastboot, which allowed me to format data in TWRP, and reboot to system without problem.

- Recommended recovery for LineageOS 20 is posted as 3.7.0, do I really need to update it or will my 3.6.2 will work?
- Is there any "update" from 19.1 to 20 option availible or will the full clean flash will be necessary

I just updated yesterday from 19.1 to 20 with a dirty flash. It kind of worked but I had a few problems that I had to workaround.
1) I flashed the TWRP recovery 3.7.0, and I was not able to sideload the zip. The device is reconized by adb until I swipe to sideload, then the phone shows a non ending "Starting sideload " and `adb devices -l` don't show any devices anymore
2) I tried the OrangeFox 13 unofficial from same repo https://github.com/alextrack2013/rmx1931-stuff/releases/ and I had the same issue with the sideload.
I finally decrypted my phone in OrangeFox, and used adb push to put the zip files onto /sdcard and installed then the new image directly from OrangeFox.
The phone is working, but all apps depending on WebView are crashing. Logcat shows some exceptions for the app after this message
```
Couldn't find WebView package to use com.android.server.webkit.WebViewUpdateServiceImpl$WebViewPackageMissingException: Could not find a loadable WebView package
```
Not sure how it interfers with it, I installed the latest magisk 25.2 and NikkGapps core from here

@Karthick Chandran any idea for the webview situation ?
PS : Thanks a lot for your work
Small update für the WebView Situation :
In Settings->Applications (+ show system applications) : I can find Android System WebView (com.android.webview version 100.0.4896.127)
If I search in the settings for WebView, I find that in the Developper options Webview provider is set to no application. I can also not select any application while tipping it.
I tried to clear the cache/storage of the system app "Android System WebView but it didn't helped.

I cant get this to boot - keeps asking for android decrypt password - even if I wipe data it asks for it (I know the password is but it says unsuccessful decrypt)
I presume it has something to do with selinux not being supported but since my device was encrypted I cant boot it
Tried restoring stock rom and then flashing it but same result

That's a twrp issue. Go to wipe - data - change file system - ext4. Fixes it or just try to format whole data

doesnt work - if you change to ext4 then you cant decrypt data
I also did fastboot erase userdata which is basically the same thing
Also flashed stock recovery too and it still asks for the decrypt key
Its not a twrp issue (I did compile twrp and its my twrp im using)
I'll just stay on lineage 14.1 until selinux is fix in this

They posted an solution in Cedric tester hub. Let me find it real wuick
Edit: use the format data option and accept by typing "yes"
Selinux isn't problem. A lot of ppl faced that. Join the tester hub If you want to read.

edit ok so after booting back to lineage 14.1 encryption was gone so I flashed back to lineage 15 and it booted
Strange but seems to be the work around for it
TheFixItMan said:
Like I said - I formatted data and user data and it made no difference
if @CodeZero could please post the solution here it would be helpful as I can't boot the rom as it keeps asking for decrypt key even after formating data wiping user data and flashing back to stock rom and reflashing
Iv just booted back to lineage 14.1 so I'll just wait for more information

Thank you @CodeZero for all the time and effort you have contributed to this device!
How's the camera functioning? All prior (post-Nougat) issues resolved or present in all their glory?

well about camera it's same like pie . it's working fine tho for me no issues till now
thank you very much for the rom CodeZero it is good to know that someone like you continues to build more and more this device, we expect new updates and security patches I love you crack
Today I will try it, I just hope that camera work fine.
Thanks in advance for support this old device.
It works everything for me, except audio: I got no audio(multimedia nor notifcation). Any ideas?
I had stock android before clean install Lineage OS 17, I haven't modified anything else (no third party apps nor gapps).
I have to say I am coming from this issue https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5/help/stuck-bootloops-stock-roms-ive-tried-t3995969 , and trying out LineageOS for the first time out of curiosity. And apparently the phone is more stable with this LineageOS 17 than stock rom (I have almost no reboots). But audio worked with stock rom.
Edit: No audio even with earpods.
Hi
Once again this is a great ROM thanks to Code zero. Unfortunately the ROM does not boot up setupwizard when it is first run so I cannot restore settings and apps. Just wondering how I can force setup wizard to run again so I can get my stuff back?

The truth is that I am using this rom of lineage os 17 as a daily rom I would say that your fault comes from your terminal since my audio works in both headphones and notifications, the only error I see in this rom is in some applications that close alone from the rest 10/10
oh and another bug is in the chrome browser that doesn't play videos it gets damaged
note: this is fixed using another browser
Magisk
Doesn't appear to like Magisk V.10.1 - V.19.1 installs fine!
My mistake; should read doesn't like Magisk V.20.1 - V.19.1 installs OK
After reinstalling over Lineage 16.0 all is working just great including Magisk 20.1
Many thanks to you Code Zero

Chrome Version
For anyone who is having issues with Chrome, I went trough a couple versions of it, and I think this is the latest release that has no video playback issues: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/chrome/chrome-71-0-3578-98-release/
2 hours of test and I'm in love.
Excellent work, I don't have any bug.
We appreciate your fantastic work.
Can someone post some pictures for me to have a look?
I'm in doubt, can I install even though this 'SELinux is permissive' bug is safe?
Has anyone that had camera problems in Pie tried this ROM? Is camera fixed here?
I'm on LOS16 and camera doesn't work (green tint, crashes, etc)
Thanks for your work @CodeZero! Amazing as always!

Google/YouTube lineageos 17 - I'm sure you'll find tones of pictures and videos of it on devices (it will look the same on any device)
Also Google what SElinux is - basically you cannot encrypt your device & any security service/app that requires it to be enforcing will not work

One question ! Why isnt necessary to format system before flashing the rom ? I come from another brand and the process was both cache , system and data .
Thanks for your work MAN ! HURRA
@karthick mostwanted What's the difference between your port and using LOS GSI?
Nice!
Does autobrightness work?
Works but not as good as stock.
You have to set up the brightness manually a few times for it to work better or else it will go full brightness most of the time.

You were one of the developer of tomato too, right?
At last we have the 1st custom rom for our X2 Pro. I'll try to flash this today. :victory:
So need to unlock bootloader first then install provided recovery and at last the rom?
Is the fingerprint working ?
And Google pay?
Thanks for great work.

fingerprint yes
Never unlocked bootloader nor rooted the phone.
If Y unlock and install latest twrp, will it break the FP sensor ?
And any brick risk ?
I saw so many people here bricking there X2pro doing that...
I've had Lineage OS 17.1 for about a 2 weeks now and I have too much trouble with apps that don't want to work banking, financial, games etc - it gets picked up as custom rom and I'm not even rooted.
I am considering going back to stock (not ideal) or using an older version of stock android. Android 10 also have too many issues.

2 weeks? Check the date of the release & if you don't know how to fix safety net issues you cannot use those apps in any custom ROMs
90 Hz Question
Does the 90 Hz work? Any other things that aren't stable? I have heard from forums that guide on GSIs say that the ROMs had little functionalities and recommend going back to stock. Nice to know that the fingerprint works! I'm currently on stock with unlocked bootloader, which unfortunately disables FP in stock. Hopefully I can get it to work in LineageOS.

I am on beta Android 10 C22 with unlock bootloader and twrp recovery and i can tell you that FP works fine here.
Flashing Magisk is what breaks it so if you uninstall Magisk you get FP back.

Lol some people have been running Lineage OS 17 for months now.
@AndyYan has been posting updates for treble devices:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/andyyan-gsi/files/lineage-17.x/
In any case, I did not have safety net issues on some of the older versions so I'm still experimenting.

I've read in other forums it happens when receiving notifications. Could'nt confirm. Problem ceases disabling the app.

1. fingerprint works, did you jump in straight from stock rom.. if yes, which version ?
2. attach logs of the youtube issues
3. face unlock is an addon, it cant be an issue at all (if it gets ported, it will be added)

Tested.
Beside some minor bugs it's overall good but the fact that it doesn't have signature spoofing permission is really annoying. I tried to use FakeGapps Xposed Module and it doesn't seem to work correctly (LSposed seems not to work) so it's impossible to get notifications using MicroG.
Could you please add support for signature spoofing?
Good enough to use as daily driver? I just downloaded 18.1 but should I use this?
So i noticed 2 things,
1) the lockscreen rotates if auto-rotate is on even if the rotate lock screen is turned off.
2) i dont get any vibration, in LOS 18.1 (your rom) it worked fine, altough i tweaked it a lil with franco kernel manager to be a lil bit more forcefull. It works while booting and while in twrp, just not while in the os. i tried testing it with an app where it didnt work either.
If i should upload a log would i just use matlog for example, and do you want it tested with notifications or with an app?
Im currently running the linked LOS img, the latest NikGapps Core and the latest magisk canary build, no further modifications on the system. For installing i followed the instructions besides using the latest official twrp build instead of the provided OrangeFox Recovery (i had problems mounting the data partition with that one) and i came from your latest LOS 18.1 build without formating the system partition or reinstalling realme ui
Thanks for all the great work. Can we expect a new release soon? Would love to wait for some initial bug fixes and new features such as face unlock.
Can't wait to try this ROM! I'm too busy lately to try and flash it, but i will soon! Keep up the good work
I can confirm that "Android System Intelligence app" keeps crashing an disabling it solves the issue for now. I think the confusion around Face Unlock not working stems from the fact that it is listed as a working feature in the original post. Also I seem to be limited to 60hz and smartcharge not working but I assume those will get fixed with the other Realme settings at some point. Other than that it is looking good, thanks for the great work!
Thanks for your instruction.
I have cleaned data, system and flashed this lineageOS and only faced the error "Failed to mount /metadata partition". NikGApps installation is OK.
Now, I'm stuck at Fastboot + OrangeFox recovery, I cannot boot into system.
Could you please help that what I should do for my x2pro to boot to the system?
Thanks
Can anybody else confirm that long press power button to turn on flashlight does not work? I can enable it under Settings - System - Buttons but it does not work.
