Q96 Max [Root] - Android Stick & Console AMLogic based Computers

Hi,
I'm think about buying a 'Q96 Max' TV Box.
Now, I saw a video on youtube where the guy enables Wireless debugging (the box is on Android 11) and uses an ADB shell to 'su' into the root account.
Now my question is: Is this possible by default or did the guy do some pre-setup off-screen to get the su binaries to su into super user shell.
I was thinking maybe he enabled the 'Root Switch' that some new TV boxes has.
Or maybe the TV Box has root binaries by default.
Is there anyone on here that has one of these boxes that can check for me before I buy please.

I don't think it's fair to say that it has faked specs. The hardware is there.
The only thing fake about it is the software. And if I can get root on it, I can change all the stuff that matters.
Thus the post...

Stripped down cpu, less memory as advertised, no reset switch, Android 7.1 OS, poor build quality...
READ the 1 star customer reviews on AliExpress...

Some of them maybe but, you make it sound like all of that specific models are faked specs like the flash drives you buy at traffic lights.
If you have proof, present it...
Post photos of the one you bought opened up etc.
Anyway I ended up buying the Tanix W2. There was a massive special on it and the reviews I found everywhere had very good reviews. It doesn't have as much memory but it has a better GPU (G31 MP2) and a "Root Switch" setting in the OS.
On top of that there is a SlimBox ATV rom I found on here that looks pretty kickass.
Will do a review on it once I get it...
Thnx for the reply

i have the same tv box and i have some problems.
The specs is fake.
Has someone the firmware for this model ????

4x256 Kingston DDR3 chips, nand 16gb and S905L quad core SoC. advertised as 2GB ram, so not sure, might need to google the part number.
And there is a weird app with chinese symbols called JMFactory which appears to be running YT videos in the background. Easily removable with Titanium backup. The box is rooted OOB

No problem, but I am sorry to report that, at least the device in my hands, has spoofed/faked specs.
Android API is 25, which makes it Android 7.1, Nougat. If this model has faked specs, I would assume the same goes for 4/64, 8/128 and other models.
Link to the seller (to stay away!).

Then I think it's safe to assume all of those branded ones are either faked or lower class chips.
Good thing I went for another brand.
I went for the Tanix W2, I will post my finding same as you.

lol sorry but if you want a high quality tablet, this is not for you.. this is a great tablet to jump into the tablet game because of the low-cost but comeon now... its not that powerful..
Hahaha these little crap tablets give Android a bad name! They're saturating the market with low-price, low functionality tablets that virtually NO ONE wants. When it comes to cheap tablets I'm pretty sure the Fire and the Nook will be king (but mostly the Fire), so there's really no reason to have these things. They give ifans a reason to bash Android IMO.
This actually looks better than the Fire to me. I might be a buyer for my 7 year old...Why not? It doesn't look terrible. Wonder if it is completely 100% lead-free? lol
I'm cool with this. Cheaper tablets give us more options. There are people who basically just want a tablet to read ebooks and play the occasional angry birds. That's what's Android all about. Having options.
LOL, looks like asus slacked for too long and got beat by some cheap china tablet company...
You snooze, U loose!
Ohwell, atleast when the prime finally does come out it will have ICS hopefully right around the corner, and hopefully it will make the diffrence we all been looking for.
That chinglish makes my head ache, coming from a Chinese guy.
Lol, Asus is pissed already, but this will kick it
But unfortunatly there are no measurments on the page.
It looks pretty thick.
So what are the dimensions, how much does it weight?
Also it says it is already sold out when I click to order it.

I don't see that it's selling today, I see it's claiming to be the 1st ICS tablet. No different than Asus Prime has been claiming. The race is on to who will be the first to actually be the first to deliver one to a customer
well, it isn't the first Craplet device..
Different options for different budgets. That's not such a bad thing. But keep in mind this $100 tablet comes with a $60 shipping charge that makes it not so great afterall.

[Q] [Xperia S] -- Before Buying It.

First of all, Hello guys... I'm creating a new thread to address my questions because they are too many, As you can see, I'm selling my current smartphone (Already sold Lol) and I will buy an Android phone, so my choices are between Galaxy S2, and Xperia S, I would love to buy the Xperia S rather than Samsungs Smartphone, but Im dealing with the "yellowish pixels" "screen issues" thingy before I Buy it. Could you guys recommend the better choice, I've heard that the problem was solved long time ago, and screen issues were present on first batches. Btw: I'm buying the phone through Amazon, anything I should be careful of?.
2nd Problem: Good case, I mean... Otterbox Commuter style.
Get the XPS, Samsung has the same yellow tint issues. Before buying make sure your device is w16 or newer, then you should be fine.

Thanks for the reply mate, Like I said i have no access whatsoever, related to buying an specific batch or something like that. (Here I mean buying buying products released on date xx/xx/xxxx or something really specific). I'm buying the device through Amazon... and well I guess despite the screen issue I might be going for the XS. The Galaxy I'm talking about is the 9100G, Is it really true that it comes with 1.08ghz clocked (cpu) and a PowerVR SGX 540... as far as I know, adreno beats up the SGX and the Mali.. I'm i wrong??
Any Suggestions about a really good case? (amazon)

The 220 is about the same in terms of raw power, but some say the SGX540 performs better in games. I don't see any difference myself, the UI is smooth, the browser is fast and I don't really care about games too much.

^
Yes benchmarks wise the Adreno 220 in the Xperia S is more powerful than Mali 400 in GS2 and Note and of course the SGX is slower than Mali.

Plays all my anime just fine in 720p. Sometimes lag happens in 1080p, but very rarely. Don't know about the cases, I keep the phone in my backpack.
Hello,
I'm using Xperia S despite other people i will not recommend it. It has so much problems and i did not like Sony custommer service and concern.
If i had a chance i would have bought Samsung Galaxy S3.
And one more thing, if you are making supernormal phone calls, ayou should compare SAR leveles.
Xperia S 1.31 w/kg and it is over normal levels..
I like the size of the SXS less, because using it with one hand is not easy , But well all these phones with these specs are big (also screen)
The closest thing to a otterbox case i have seen would be this one probably (2 layers):

[Q] Fuhu Inc... Nabi XD..JB 4.1 port to Nabi2 I assume possible?

I know many have asked for a Nabi/Nabi2 section which I wish there was one for a Q&A section there but here it goes and hope it gets seen here........
While searching around the interwebz on the word "Nabi2" just to see what I would find I stumbled upon this little jem which I didn't know about and was also to come out late December and early January marketed for preteens.
Now since the specs are similar ( being the CPU's are more than likely the same ) I would assume it would be possible to just simply swap over Jelly Bean to our Nabi 2's correct? I wonder how easy to modify for GPS and a bigger internal flash memory would be on these as well since there is so much space inside. I like that the XD comes with NFC capabilities as well.

The micro USB is not. It's proprietary, so my plans to use a USB-Ethernet adapter are foiled for now.
Shape is same as micro USB, but it's bigger than mini USB.
I need to find my USB A-A adapter. Perhaps OTG is already implemented in the supplied USB cable.

I hate those proprietary cables, I would not have expected that from an Android device, most devices are universal now, either Micro USB or Mini USB. However, there will be generic ones made eventually, it wont be long before you find them for a few bucks on ebay, just like apple usb cables.
Apparently, these are not supposed to even be for sale, just a rumor, but it would explain why you cannot find accessories for it, even on their site.

Modified drivers with full OpenGL support?

I am vaguely interested in a nexus 9, but the driver gimping is a non starter. I do play some Tegra optimized games, and frankly I refuse to give them up because of Google handiwork. I was considering this device as an alternative to the shield tablet, but if this issue can't be fixed I'm going to stick with nvidia's offering. FYI I do already own the shield tablet, I was just considering a switch due to issues I've been having.
I too am interested in making this possible. Pretty frackin pissed at google for disabling something the hardware supports for no reason. Nvidia has it working for the shield tablet so you know the drivers and libraries are available and it would be a simple task for then to enable.
I don't know where its disabled or what all would have to be done/tried to make it work. I have complained on both Nvidias and googles forums. Currently waiting for nvidia to release the full factory images for lollipop for the shield tablet to try compare + copy files. I'm no developer but may have to learn how to compile kernels and build Roms to properly try and overcome this.
Anyone who has more knowledge of the ins and outs of linking libGL.so and such that can offer any insight on where to poke around or start would be greatly appreciated!

Latest response from someone at nvidia in the 2nd nvidia link above...
"Hi, Users
The K1 Chip does support OpenGL 4.4 and CUDA from the hardware side. The problem is that HTC made the device and Google controlled the software for that device.*
For Nexus 9, using AEP (Android Extension Pack) you can still achieve a lot graphics boost on K1 as using the modern OpenGL APIs."
So it sounds to me like google are the ones that left full GL 4.4 out. We need to petition google to have it enabled and included in future releases.
The Antutu benchmark for 3d graphics is really close between the Shield and Nexus 9. The N9 doesn't seem gimped in this regard. Is there some specific opengl functionality that was left out but doesn't show up in this benchmark?
What's really odd are the CPU performance numbers for the N9 in Antutu. I have a hard time believing the results, as the numbers seem unusually low.

Yeah they removed a ton of functionality that can speed up applications, as well as breaking compatibility with a ton of existing apps. The android extension pack is a garbage replacement and is google's apparent reasoning for removing OpenGl support. Also benchmarks should be taken with a grain of salt anyways. They are garbage for real world use.

MX Plus II and MX Plus I 4K TV Box 1G/8G have been released with LED Display

i have read the recent news about tv box, now MX Plus II and MX Plus I have been first newly released with LED display to support 4K TV. I would like to have a try a nice but cheap tv box with powerful function. But it's very confused to choose the brand like Zidoo, Pipo, Neo, Tronsmart, etc. Right now MX also released its two new models. And MX Plus II has LED display. So do you have much experience about this kind of tv box?
Here are the main features:
Android 5.1.1
S905 Quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 up to 2.0GHZ (DVFS)
Penta -core ARM Mali 450 GPU up to 750MHz+ (DVFS), OpenGL ES1.1/2.0, Open VG 1.1, 2250Mpix/sec and 165Mtri/sec
1GB DDR3
8GB NAND FLASH
IEEE 802.11b/g/n AP6212
Ethernet 100/1000M
H.265, 4K*2K
Google Play & APK install
DLNA, Miracast support
Anyone has used this kind of tv box? Have you make the review about it?

Yeah that's for sure, hehe, could you be more precise? If it was $100 or close I would rather buy a GeekBox..

I guess it will be the cheapest RK3229 4K Bluetooth 4.0 KODI Preinstalled TV BOX right now.
So what do you think?
I found coupons for both of them for buying from Geekbuying.

Right now it can be found on geekbuying for 29$!
If this device would have some scene, just a basic rom from finless or any of those androidpc devs would be enough for having a decent media player almost for free.
hi, i have this one from geebuying too, after i try to change runtime to ART, it make bootloop my console
try to get in recovery mode, but only show the green robot laying down with open stomach, no menu show at all, also try to hit volume up or down or power button, still not showing any menu
what should i do?should i flash the rom again and how i do it?
help me please???
