Excellent port, fast and stable,
Every thing works as expected, the only thing I notice The device cannot connect to WPA3 networks, it can see it in apps like WiFiAnalyzer but not in the phone settings it can connect to wpa2/wpa3 networks fine, but it shows WPA/WPA2.
Overall stable ROM.
Thanks to all Contributors and the device Maintainer.
hello guys,
does the s-pen works correctly?
if so, the only feature I would miss is selecting a part of the screen with the pen to take screenshots, do you think a similar resuly would be possible with a thitd-party app or module?
thabk you!

How about Google Wallet? Is it working on Note 9 with this ROM?

Yes, it is working, but you need to use Magisk/Lygisk with a few modules to fix Safetynet. The ROM does not pass by default. I use the Universal Safetynet Fix and Shamiko modules to hide root and pass CTS.
I have a problem with LiveDisplay. I set night color temperature to 3700K and when it activates, bright blue and green colors are way too oversaturated. I can provide a logcat if needed.
Spoiler
For the picture I turned the color temp all the way down to 1000K to demonstrate the issue.

Provide any additional information (observations/frequency of problem/last version it worked on/etc) as needed:
- This seems to be a larger problem with multiple samsung devices:
https://gitlab.com/LineageOS/issues/android/-/issues/3813
- I know it is not the normal build but lineageos for microG follows the official builds pretty closely and the issue
does not seem to be connected to microG.

Otherwise a great port, thank you
Anyone, please post photos and videos of Lineage OS on Note 9 showing features. Please also show camera performance and features.
Hello! The ROM is already very good.
What worries me is:
Bluetooth does not work properly!
All Xiaomi wristbands can not be paired. One Drive does not work either! Also a device from my HUK car insurance does not work. Every device is shown up, but don't connect!
Can you please change the Bluetooth driver?
As I said, otherwise it is already very well done.

What do you expect? It is lineageos so you are getting basically the features of stock android 13.
Here is a video going over new features of android 13.
Also I attached some photos I made with Open Camera (not the stock camera app), the quality is hit or miss though.

Bluetooth works well for me, all devices connect without problem.
Does it affect only specific devices or every bluetooth device?

It effects all Xiaomi Wristband "SmartWatch"
And
From a Car insurance a little device that's connected over Bluetooth.
And
One Drive it's a illegally tempo limit warning device.
That's my only issue with the Rom

me too dude. finally we got something
I would love to flash this build, even though camera and FP are not working, but one short question: If I want to revert back to, say, renovate ice, do i have to be aware of something? Do I have to flash something like Bootloader or something to make the Official-Based Roms work again?
Again, thank you for all this time you invested!
OMG I can't believe it (well now I can haha), it's amazing guys, you really rocks. Thank you for your hard hard work, stay awesome
I would like to mention that neither stricted or I have the device which makes development a bit harder since we are working blind here any donations are appreciated and will help in firther development
Nice to see AOSP development going forward now after a long time being burried deep inside
Would you guys allow me to contribute to the project? I have the S8+ btw (although I'm going to be busy later, still I'd love to get into AOSP projects)
Thanks

-su: I flashed the SU-addon but no additional app appeared and the app I use for logcats (catlog) couldn't get root access to get a logcat

Wooooaahh, waited for this from long time! CONGO DEV!
I would like to mention that neither stricted or I have the device which makes development a bit harder since we are working blind here any donations are appreciated and will help in firther development
Congrats devs
Everything except the cam and fingerprint reader as mentionned is working pretty well :good:
In general, the animations/transitions have some latency but it's ok for an alpha build.
Note for users that iris recognition isn't working because of AOSP limitation for now.
If you want to test it safely, you can use this dual boot guide : https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...t/patcher-dualboot-multiboot-samsung-t3683203
YAAAY finally!!!
I hope that this doesnt get EOL-ed after the first build gho like the other aosp roms and we get it to be somewhat stable. Thanks guys
Congrats @Stricted and @Ivan_Meler ?
I have doubted if this would ever happen but seems like finally succeeded. Many AOSP fans (or TouchWiz haters) will be glad to see this build.
All the best for the future?
first of all: thank you devs for taking on our beloved device!:good:
since open source is the only true sauce, i cannot wait see the progress.
to help you there:
- all the things Alek7 said
- USB-C to HDMI not working(NOT Dex mode, just screenmirroring through cable)
- the in-screen "homebutton": when device is locked you can press it and feel the feedback, but no action. when screen is on -> no response at all.
- wi-fi not working: when i switch it on it turns off again after a second. no amount of clean and/or dirty flashes solves it. flashing different modem versions doesnt help either. only solution is flashing a wifi fix from yash92dusters' lightrom. i cant find it there anymore since it was an older build. funnily enough i had the exact same issue on deluxerom 9.3 and not on lightrom, for what the fix was intended for.
thanks again. once the camera is working i can finally stick to LOS.
Thank you for working on this! I had given up hope that N8 would ever get Lineage

I tested last night, had no issues with WiFi (although my test was only for about an hour). The only things I found not working are the ones reported (camera, fingerprint and home button wake up), very good build considering the first one.
Unfortunately for me, camera is a deal breaker so I'm back to my usual for now but will test each release.
Hey guys. Its true. The Wifi problem exists only for some people. Like i said, i didnt have that problem on lightrom even though the fix was made for it. Unfortunately it is deleted from that post and i cant figure out how to make attachements to post it here
Edit: if u have that issue it appears immediately or not at all.
You guys are nuts, thank you so much for bringing true AOSP-like ROMs for the Note8.

Nice rom sir, oh i forgot to give u the log about bt calls ?

Damn, that was fast!
Thx for the work OP!
I will wait for a couple user reports about the usability und potential bugs that maybe were encountered and, if it turns out to be as stable as the last Pie release, I'm guaranteed to flash it
Edit: Is a full wipe recommended, or is a dirty flash enough?
Thx in advance

Super works man . nice and stable enough
Which gapps do you recommend? ?
Been using it for 2 weeks as a daily, camera apps barely work or crash but that's any Los room, fb messenger camera works fine. Besides that it's rock solid! Definitely feels faster than LOS16 but maybe it's just the Android 10 gestures giving neyw placebo. It occasionally stutters, but much less than any other AOSP rom I've tried (LOS16, RR, pixel, etc). Also can't get a wallpaper or boot animation to "stick"

I would recommend OpenGApps and since this is Android 10 there is only Nano and Pico (which I use) available which gives you the bare minimum you need to access Play Store (and the world?)
I just installed without wiping, coming from LOS16, and so far so good (wonderful!). You guys are amazing!
Try installing "Samsung UHD Camera 2 Fix" Magisk module and the latest iDan GCam mod for the camera (Gapps required otherwise Gcam wont open)
Does anyone have any sucess with viper4android?
I dont know if I'm doing something wrong but whenever i install Los 17.1 it does the boot animation but then just goes reboots back into TWRP. Am i missing something or does my s8 just not work right

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 10 (Q), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Reporting Bugs
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

yes, works as expected, thank you very much!
Some minor issues I came across so far:
-minimum brightness is still very high, even in total darkness (with and without auto dimming)
-night mode doesn't work as expected: blue light is not reduced but somehow highlighted instead: even with color temperature tuned to minimum (1000° K), which should essentially filter all blue light.
-a little bit of lag when cold-starting apps (after clearing recents) this was much better on the last stock version i used (dr. ketan's rom)
If you need further details let me know.
Can you include the date of your last update into the thread title?
Thanks.

Thank you, I've just bought this phone yesterday and was bummed out because there was no lineage os version for it.
Thanks for the rom, can I ask what's the difference between official and unofficial apart from the keys the builds are signed with.
Thanks

OTAs won't be available in the device. You have to manually update each build by adb sideload.
anyone tested it? what is broken?
manu commits are merged on lineage gerrit today... lets wait for next build
Can anyone tell me about which Gapp to flash? I tried MindTheGapp but the outcome is making the whole system buggy.

Did you format after flashing Gapps? If not, the you should.
If I update through adb sideload, do I need to flash gapps too?
well...
has someone tested this new build?
I want to know major problems before flashing it, specially because it requires clean flash

do not use gapps, just Fake Gcam Service Provider (from microg f-droid repo), and will delete that soon, because stock camera app is fine.

C'mon man. Look for it at least. Adaptive brightness is off by default. Go to Settings > Display > Adaptive Brightness and ON it. It works. I, myself use the ROM.

Do you think I didn't check it before reporting? Tried it of course, toggled off/on but didn't work.
