I have a fully unlocked N200 that was chugging along well with a PixelExperience GSI.

I just picked up an update for the GSI from the android update menu and after that the phone seems to have factory reset itself.
Also, it is not going past the first "Welcome to Pixel" screen.
I guess I can fix the second problem by wiping it clean but I am wondering if anybody else is using GSI on this phone?
Is there a guide that I can follow so I don't have to wipe after every update.
Thanks in advance.
I just built PixelExperience myself using the LineageOS source code, and it works better than a GSI. Haven't shared it on XDA though.
As for you, you're better off just using LineageOS for now. More custom ROMs like PixelExperience might be coming soon, and you'll have a better experience compared to a GSI.
@lzgmc - I was trying to do exactly what you did - use the LinOS codebase to compile a PixelExperience ROM specifically for N200. If it is possible for you, would you mind sharing your ROM?
I figured the magic called GSI and got it to work with trial and errors on the phone. I am quite happy with the GSI running on the phone for now.
Hoping to find a better documented path to install the GSI properly.

The situation with Nougat ROMs is a bit confusing for me so I have several questions:
First question:
@andr68rus is working on several N ROMs at the same time:
Resurrection Remix
Dirty Unicorns 7.1.2
AOKP ROM for LeMax 2
Can you tell which one's the best, most future proof project? Did he even stop maintaining on of them?
Second question:
What about the official Lineage Builds?
How well maintained are they? Is this the way to go in the future?
Third question: I'm currently using TeamWin twrp-3.0.2-1-x2. Do I need a new TWRP for N?
Thanks for eventual help.
Aside from Dirty Unicorns, most of the ROMs are Lineage based. I believe @andr68rus is taking a break from DU to focus on resolving issues in the Lineage based ROMs he's building.
In fact, I believe most of the Nougat ROMs (not just andr68us') are based off the work done for Lineage 14.1 so it will probably be the best maintained. I've switched to the Unofficial Lineage 14.1 for now and probably will go with the Official (assuming it goes official, though I don't see why it wouldn't) unless some other ROM has a feature that's "must have" to me.
With regards to TWRP, I think your's should be fine, but you might want to give MultiROM a try so you can switch between ROMs. I currently have LOS 14.1 as my internal, and DU 7.1.2 & AOKP - MM as secondaries. I'm using Lineage as my daily driver, but it's nice to know I can boot back to AOKP if I have an issue. I didn't have problems with DU, but I didn't place any calls and I saw some complaints about things like echo and call volume, which is why I went to Lineage. DU did feel a bit "smoother' to me, but I'm not sure if it's just placebo because it was the first Nougat ROM I used, or if it's because it's AOSP rather than Lineage based.
When using MultiROM, just don't freak out if flashing a ROM messes up your PIN codes in all your other ROMs. There's a flashable zip to remove the pin codes from a ROM (which really just deletes a few files) and afterwards you can add you PIN back.
Thanks for the answer. With Official Lineage I've meant the ROMs from download[DOT]lineageos[DOT]org/x2 . The thing I don't understand is how well maintained that is. Do they have their own people working on the ROM, or are those people from here?
Edit: I just realized that the ROMs there are 13.0 which is supposedly Android 6.0. So there are no official Lineage 14 ROMs jet. That's where my confusion came from.

I'm using your Lineage 13.0 UNOFFICIAL atm. I've tried AOKP but the battery drain was too high. The 13.0 seems fine. I guess I'll wait a bit till the N ROMs a more mature.
So, am I correct in believing that almost all treble ROMs will boot on the H9, if so, there is an entire forum dedicated to project treble development on XDA, the H9 is listed as supported for at least AOSP 8.1.
Anyone think that other ROMs will work?
Link to forum: https://forum.xda-developers.com/project-treble/trebleenabled-device-development
I'm not sure if I want to risk bricking my device, it's too much effort to unbrick it etc...
Yes. I flashed LineageOS and AOSP, both are working fine. Due to us not having a properly working TWRP for Android 8.1 I couldn't install any Gapps manually meaning you can only use a bare custom rom without Gapps or Roms with pre-installed Gapps (like the AOSP Rom in your shared forum).
Have you tried the Pixel one?

Hello, has anyone (using a Treble Rom) ever had a successful SafetyNet test?
Hey guys I am seriously considering buying the Note 10 (mojito) and I would like to know your opinions on custom ROMs for it. The Note 10 ticks all the boxes for me, but I worry that phones like the Note 10 PRO and PRO MAX will take most of the attention of Devs and therefore custom ROM development in mojito will not receive much attention. Do you think this is a valid worry?
I want my next phone to run deGoogled ROMs (like LOS), is mojito going to be a good choice for this?
Right now in my country its price is very good, while the PRO/MAX variants haven't arrived yet. It will be some time before they do, and even more before their price drops. So mojito is a very strong contender for me.
To clarify, I am not complaining there isn't a deGoogled custom ROM yet, only asking if you guys think it will get them.
I already use a custom ROM without Google, dotOS 5.0.1.
Installation of the Vanilla Version (without Google Services/Apps) via PE/AOSP or Lineage Recovery and ADB sideload.
Here are the instructions:
Install PixelExperience on mojito - PixelExperience Wiki
Install PixelExperience on mojito - PixelExperience Wiki
wiki.pixelexperience.org
Just take dotOS ROM from here (instead of Pixel Experience ROM).
Afterwards the APKs for microG:
Download - microG Project
Activate all checkboxes in microG settings, reboot and disable battery optimization for all components.
F-Droid and Aurora Store working, from there you can get the MozillaNLPbackend and NomatimNLPbackend and Deja Vu for location services without using Google.
There is no need to worry. It's will claim a lot of development. the most reason was to not see a lot and lazy at the beginning is on our Device (mojito/sunny) we don't have Recovery partition! which let our development slow but we have a good stuff of developers that's works hard and got us on the road as you see the roms are coming till now we got 6 roms and 3 recoveries and Orangefox soon.

Amazing man, this is awesome. I was not aware that there was a deGoogled ROM for it already, nor that dotOS existed and was so slick. I will definitely take a look at this.
Does it pass SafetyNet?
Would you happen to know who the developer/maintainer for that unofficial ROM is? I looked around and couldn't find a page for it here on XDA.
Nevermind, saw here that there isn't an XDA page for some ROM for the the time being. Since I have never flashed a custom ROM on any phone, I will wait for one to see what are people's experiences with it.

Sweet, this is comforting. I am really looking forward to deGoogling my phone, but am a little hesitant since I have zero experience flashing ROMs hahaha. Was going to go for a phone with Official LOS support but models available to me are the same price as the Note 10, but nowhere near as good.

On unrooted dotOS with just microG: no.
However, 2 out of 3 banking apps work.
After testing dotOS (vanilla) with microG for a couple of days and with a lot of apps, I'd say it's not usable as a daily driver yet.
There are problems with most apps that use maps, like Uber or Wolt or DHL parcel service.
They generate error messages that google services are not properly installed and quit or malfunction.
However, microG and the corresponding locations services install perfectly and don't show any errors.
I didn't have such problems with other ROMs on other phones (but always using microG), e.g. crDroid or ArrowOS or LineageOS.
Thanks for the feedback. Is that the only issue with the ROM?
I am really sold on DotOS, it is very close to stock and has very beautiful customizations. My problem with the one that is available so far is that it doesnt look very transparent (at least to me). No source code available, no page here. And I dont know how serious the Dev is about maintaining it, nor how credible he is as well.
Not really trying to test every ROM, just find one that is stable, deGoogled and maintained.
I think you're a couple of months too early with your questions, the phone is pretty new and the ROMS and recoveries in a very early state.
hahaha yes, I am afraid so.
My phone's battery is starting to act up, so I will have to make a purchase soon. May take a leap of faith on this phone and see how much attention it gets from the dev community
Thanks for your feedback!

AOSP 12.0 GSI - G6 ALIHello friends, how are you? I was pretty tired of the traditional roms we have for the Moto G6 there, (I got sick), these roms are excellent, but with time it ended up being more the same, that's when phhusson released an Android 12 GSI, I went to test it and found it amazing the operation on the system, unfortunately there is no way to use the SIM, but some improvements are even nice, I'm starting in this area of customization of the latest ROMs (current android)
You need a recovery that accepts ARM64 ROMs, and the GSI itself
In the link you select system-squeak-arm64-ab-vanilla.img.xz and download, then unzip and install on your system and test
GSI:

Depending on when you are watching this post the performance is already better, however I made this post to motivate the community (us) to try to port ROMs and GSIs for the Moto G6 ALI.
For those who are having doubts a while ago I made a video installing the TWRP with the GSI of Android 11 on the Moto G6 ALI, I recommend you check it out if you have any questions!
(The video is in Brazilian Portuguese my native language)
How were you able to get an a/b partition GSI to boot properly on an A-only partition device like the Moto G6?. I've used A-only GSIs successfully on mine in the past but my understanding is A-only has been discontinued with release of a12.
I don't know man, but I just installed it, in the application that sees which system it is if it's AB or A only says it's AB, if I'm not mistaken I've already tested A only roms for it but it didn't work for some reason, I don't know if it's the current Vendor of the custom Roms I'm using or something else, I think it's the vendor since it's not an ARM32 but an ARM64, it can also be for recovery. In short, I don't know.
but it works
Don't know why an a/b gsi works on an a-only device but it does. Give this a12 gsi a try OctaviOS-v3.2-arm64_bvN-29122021-Unofficial.img.xz. It booted and I got an LTE signal no problem.
doesn't work for me
tried both 64 and 32, i'm using twrp 3.6.0_9-0 though, not sure if that is the problem, rolling back to 11 for now.
You might to flash permissive v4 before first boot after flashing the gsi image. https://androidfilehost.com/?w=search&s=Permissiver

i am, but maybe i'm doing something wrong
do you guys push the img and install using twrp or sideload?
edit: i reflashed it to stock, and gonna repeat the process
I didn't use stock boot or vendor when Octavia gsi booted for me. I was on the latest Ali Crdroid11 Dec patch, backed it up in latest twrp, did a normal wipe and flashed the vanilla Octavia arm64 a/b system gsi link above. Don't recall if it booted right away or if I went back to twrp and flashed permissiver v4. Either way it booted fine, got carrier signal right away (t- mobile) , sound also worked fine. Didn't flash gapps or anything else. Just was curious if an a/b gsi would actually boot on a G6 and both Aosp12 and Octavia both did for me. Try this permissive zip if the other doesn't work https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=6006931924117886495
Did a little research on telegram and found out a12 a/b gsi's will also work on an a-only device as long as the device supports SAR (system as root). Treble check app shows the G6 supports SAR and is arm64 so that's likely why they boot OK for some of us. That said the two I've tried Aosp12 and Octavia12 were laggy and would hang occasionally.

The cool thing about this GSI is that it runs without lags, the only problem is the mobile data. if it worked it would be perfect

possibly yes!
Can you tell the steps of installation because I don't understand brazilian
And please tell about bugs of anything
Out of several other GSIs this is the only GSI rom that would boot all the way to android on my LG v60 T-mobile
Why? whats makes this rom so different from the rest?
ex. Lineage Q or RR Remix Q or Pixel Experience Q would not boot or just boot to animation and nothing else
Device support (Project Treble)
harvey186 I see that you seem to know a lot. I installed a generic a/b treble image on my pixel 3a sargo. It works fine. but it says the base image is months out of date. How can I manually upgrade it?
