I got a tablet device (Omega OT107) I've rooted it using
Code:
ro.kernel.qemu
method.
Next I'm triying to flash Custom Recovery and my problems started here.
What I've tried:
1.
Code:
flash_image recovery
- no success process of flashing never ends
2. Install bootmenu to /data/bootmenu
3. Installed 2 different 2Init's
None of this worked or even had an impact on how device works (it always boots in android correctly).
I've tried to boot it to fastboot mode to flash recovery from there but there is a problem that I have.
Volume(up or down) + Power buttons starts device to Android not to bootloader (I've read you need to remove and reinsert battery to make it work, but device has a build in batery and needs to be taken apart to remove it so I did not tryed it)
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
- boots to what I think is a bootloader (screen is black(no light is comming out of it)) when connected to Windows PC it is seen as Android Bootloader Interface (Android-SDK driver).
Code:
fastboot devices
does not discover any devices, clicking volume or power button does nothing.
Code:
adb reboot recovery
- boots devices it what seems to be useless recovery mode. At start there is a standing android dude with fireball on his chest, and imidietly changes to a lying position with his chest oppened and an exclamation mark comming out of it (I've red it is ok and I need to press Volume(down/up) + Power buttons to open recovery menu but it does not happen).
My question is:
Is it normal to some devices bootloader to look like mine? How to make it discoverable to fastboot?
I had this issue and I fixed with "press all the buttons!" and suddenly I sow recovery menu...to factory reset. if it doesn't work repeat with rebooting with pin
Does someone knows a way how to hard reset this thing?? ^^
about firmware
Any idea where find the firmware for this tablet?
Mine is now freeze on recovery logo
hard reset OT107
1.Turn off our tablet.
2 We press the MENU button at the same time + POWER HOUSE click and hold
3.Wait until the Android image.
4.Then VOL + button and the POWER and appears to us to Recovery Mode
5.Navigation is Vol-i + and confirmed by pressing POWER.
I have managed to "soft brick" my phone and I basically have bootloop where nothing except turning off from boot window is functional.
Volume Up/Down + Home + Power doesnt work. Aka recovery mode or neither Download mode.
At the moment I use ODIN program in computer.
The question is, that is there an alternative way to access in Download mode. I was told face to face that other devices have an schematic when/where cable and buttons should be pushed down.
At the moment I am waiting for JIG USB device that should allow bricked phone automatic access to Download mode. Then use ODIN to Flash ROM to reset everything.
Rooting was done by SuperSu program which also lead to brick after wrong update option. (Used HTC update)
Everything is OK.
The problem was that I was trying to go download and recovery mode after I had runned the system once before.
It should not be forgotten that button combination works only when everything starts from 0. Remove the battery and then press the buttons.
Hi,
I own galaxy s3 i9000, currently on custom rom. My phone automatically rebooted and got stuck on bootloop. If I am able to enter in recovery mode, i can wipe cache(which may can help to get out of bootloop). But the problem is I am unable to enter into recovery mode because phone's volume up button is not working and my phone auto reboots every time after power off or reinserting battery. Is there any other way to clear cache or enter into recovery mode?
I dont want to flash my stock rom via odin (because i didnt backup my some important apps and msgs), this will be my last option.
sorry for my bad english
The normal way I get my phone into recovery mode from the PC is using ADB and the command: "adb reboot recovery". However, I bet this won't work in your case for one of several possible reasons: depending on when the bootloop occurs in the boot process, the phone may never reach a point where ADB is able to see your phone in the first place; if this is happening after a flashing a new custom ROM, then also it's unlikely that USB debugging is turned and the PC is not yet authorized to connect with it over ADB.
Another thought, could your power button be stuck down? I had a GS3 SCH-I535 several years ago and the power switch went bad on it, it would keep rebooting, shutting down randomly, or I'd be unable to turn on the screen. I had a switch replaced and it was fine after that. I don't think it's normal for the phone to automatically boot up when you reinsert the battery, that's why I bring that up. Maybe you can wiggle the power button a bit and try to unstick it if that's the case.
I tried to remove and stick back the power button again, but still it didnt worked. By the way fixing power button will not help me to get into recovery mode as my phone's volume up button is also not working, and recently I found out that I cant enter into download mode too because when I press respective buttons (volume down + home + power) for download mode, it gives warning msg to click 'volume up' buttton to enter into download mode or 'volume down' to reboot. Therefore again volume up button is required to enter into download mode too. So the only option remained for me is to visit service center and fix the volume up button.
How can i remove the factory mode on my device, which is not allowing me to enter recovery mode?
When i turn my device on and hold the volume up button, instead of booting to recovery mode, the device boots into factory mode (which has a chinese factory mode menu). Due to this i cannot enter recovery mode without plugging the device into the PC and then running adb/fastboot then booting to recovery mode. Hence should anything go wrong with my device and it doesnt boot fully, i will be stuck with no access to a recovery mode. (as i wouldnt be able to use adb to get to the recovery mode)
P.S ive tried all combinations of buttons (i.e holding volume down as well with the power button) and it still goes to factory mode rather than recovery mode.
It is a mediatek device, can i unpack and make changes to the boot.img/system.img and then repack them and flash it back onto the device to resolve the issue or is there another way where i can boot to recovery mode without having to load up adb/fastboot first?
I have been installing Magisk to my Motorola Moto G Power 2021, using the patched image method (non-TWRP). Everything seemed to be accomplished, but now that it is time to reboot (and voila!), I keep getting this message:
Android Recovery
motorola/borneo_retail/borneo
11/RZBS31.Q2-143-27-7/3f699
user/release_keys
Use volume up/down and power.
Can’t load Android system. Your data may be corrupt. If you continue to get this message, you may need to perform a factory data reset and erase all user data stored on this device.
I have tried multiple tries, including fastbooting and trying to start it up normally from fastboot mode.
Can someone please help me get past this message and get my phone functional again?
Thanks for any help!

Not sure exactly but twrp would make flashing new images along easier if it's the case that you simply aren't flashing the right image to it.
I'm not sure on these moto devices but did you factory reset the device now that the new image is installed. Well before or after? This usually disables the encryption set by the system to /user .
I'm probably not the right person to ask this but it's worth a shot. Try booting into recovery now that your image is flashed and perform factory reset.

Thanks for your response.
Yes, I did do a factory reset. This was all after I had already tried the TWRP method and couldn’t get past the lock icon on TWRP. And after installing Magisk. That was the point at which I got that error message.
The factory reset got the phone operational again – and it took me half the day to go through all the apps to revoke permissions and download alternatives to the stock apps, like messaging.
Can you please suggest how to boot into recovery, or would that do another factory reset?
I am new to all this and don’t want to inadvertently get back to having to do another reset.
I haven't started working on this phone yet. I have one sitting on my desk.
I'm more familiar with samsung devices.
But that being said.
Power and volume down from completely off.
Not sure if you have to hold those buttons from power off state while plugging USB cord into computer but if the button combo alone doesn't work try powerring off again and hold the two buttons while plugging in the USB cable.
Simply entering recovery mode won't factory reset it. But. Pay attention to the button information it should be listed somewhere once u boot into recovery indicating what each of your physical buttons do.
Be careful if your not trying to factory reset. I had a device the other day I accidentally pressed volume up on and booted into a mode I didn't mean to boot into. I don't think it was a moto but I can't remember which device it was.
Please take my advice with a use at your own risk warning because I'm simply a power user that's learning about these devices myself

OK, I booted into fastboot (via adb).
The default screen offers the option to “START” next to the power button, plus arrows next to the volume up and down buttons.
The volume up button, when pressed, shows “BARCODES” next to the power button.
The volume down button, when pressed, returns to “START” next to the power button.
These are the only options showing in fastboot mode. (Is fastboot the same as what you referred to as recovery?)
Shall I press “BARCODES” next?

Well, I did that and just got four barcodes, which don't seem to have anything helpful to offer.
You may be able to press vol up more down more than once.
I know that sounds silly but give it a try if u haven't already. So fastboot IS a recovery mode but it's not the one you normally use as an end user to recover your system. Fastboot is a mode intended for use with adb fastboot commands from another device linked through your cable. You can issue commands for various things or use fastboot to flash Roms and system images. Boot images and such. I think most devices I've run across recently need to be issued the" fastboot reboot fastboot " command from terminal or command to reboot the phone into fastbootd when flashing. I honestly would just have to recommend reading up on fastboot and fastboot commands to get an idea of how you can use fastboot and the difference in fastboot and fastbootd. You have to have adb and fastboot installed on your computer to make use of fastboot mode/s. You should be able to either select recovery or enter recovery from the fastboot menu with your physical buttons. If your looking for the regular recovery menu it's probably accessed through a different button combo and you should be able to factory reset from there assuming your recovery partition is intact and functioning normally. You can definitely use fastboot to flasha new image thereby recovering your system but your definitely gonna lose anything you have on the device at that point. Flashing a new image whether it's stock or not is going to remove the encryption key your system uses to read your user data so after flashing a new image you will have to use the built in recovery menu to wipe/factory reset for the system to even boot BECAUSE it won't be able to read /data where your user data is stored
I meant to add that you have to issue fastboot reboot fastboot command WHILE IN fastboot mode to get to fastbootd
The start option is to boot your system normally, barcodes gives you info about your device such as IMEI AND SERIAL NUMBER
Try powering ur phone off and holding power and vol up and vol down or power and vol up until you see the boot logo. Or may even be power and vol down. Try these without the cable plugged in.
You shouldn't need the cable plugged in to get into the regularl recovery mode
Flash your system image. Reboot to recovery mode and factory reset
