Hi,
I want to install Emuelec on Mi box S (retro gaming) but my USB key does not want to boot because I have to root the box.
Is there a solution to root this box? (I don't care about losing the netflix and google certifications).

I have two questions I hope you answer it honestly:
1- If it's safe to use my phone for surfing the web everyday? I've installed an Antivirus called 360 SECURITY. Is it necessary to have it in the phone?
2- Is there any possibility of bricking device while I've turned off the UNKNOWN SOURCES and also installing apps from GOOGLE PLAY?
Please guide me.
Note that my device is non-rooted and I won't root it.

it's safe to browse the web. just be cautious on what you're clicking. same for the play store. theres no way to brick your device from the play store but that doesn't discount malware-infused apps.
what are you afraid of doing to your phone? if you don't root, you could always just factory reset and your phone will be fixed (more or less)

Hey maybe you can help me??... my xiaomi mini box its little-brick.. i dont have a launcher... only have a screensaver (shop APP) and in this i dont make anything... how i can open a web page or recover some aplicacition.. or maybe a trick button to reset this device

If you deleted the launcher i would suggest to try downloading mitvassistant apk to your phone and scan your network to see if it finds your box , it should , now you will have some control of the Mibox mini from the phone , it will show you installed apps which you can launch . You then can install applications such as chrome and download the replacement home launcher or other apps like startSettings apk which will allow you to factory reset .. hope this helps

I can type an Username (number-keyboard) and a Password. There is one Button to validate. Does anybody know how to skip this or which account is required to login (and how a login works since my sim card is locked and wifi is not enabled)?

yes, I deleted the updater.apk.
I still can use Mipad 2 because of the setting menu and using my own launcher. haven't tested the system launcher.
Anyway, how do I get rid of this welcome/thanks page/windows when starting device?? I have root so I could butcher some moe system apk's if I have to do it... Do you know the answer?
Luckily I had backup and it is working now. Just fix permission also to wrx-rx-rx
I'm a new MIUI user, and I just encountered this screen after my first OTA update ever. I use a MIUI 8 Global Developer ROM on a Xiaomi Mi 5 (with Unlocked Bootloader).
One way I found to avoid this screen, is by removing the SIM card and rebooting. I re-insert the SIM after MIUI has booted properly.
I don't think that's very good for the phone (or the SIM). That's just a temporary solution, until I manage to figure out what's going on...
if have root n twrp then
from twrp recovery>mount>system..then advanced>file manager>system>priv-app>miuikeyguard.apk>delete.. it worked for me.
i also removed provision.apk from the same folder.. so no startup screens.. directly takes u to the launcher

I have Redmi note 4 Snapdragon version miui 8.10.0 MCFMIDI global stable. I was having problems with external Sd card dislodged abruptly so I did factory reset (soft reset) through twrp and restored all my apps now I am facing lot of difficulty in developer option Install via usb is not working,It says temporarily restricted, I don't know what is happening because of this I can't use Titanium Backup (Lost all backup in factory reset). I searched Internet couldn't find solutions somebody says user Vpn and connect to China server etc etc,did lot of things but still not working.
I also can't sign out of mi account also.
I want also want to know could this be that India has blocked Chinese apps including Xiaomi Mi community app.
Please anyone can provide solution.

Everything on my Moto is backed up to my Google drive.
Should I use my back up to set up my new MI phone including all apps and all?

Not sure if this is any help, I usually choose the apps from the Google option when setting up the device. Although sometimes it's a pain because bugs come into play - most of the time I had to reinstall the app for it to work properly
Ohh I see.....So what you are saying is that one can actually have a choice of what to install from the back up?
