It's here! I tried compiling a week or so ago but gave up. Happy that it's now official!
I found the upgrade (and firmware update) instructions to be incomplete. I wrote up my experience at
https://www.reddit.com/r/LineageOS/comments/136kkn8/_/jiqf07l
.
To summarize the issues:
* Firmware update instructions not linked from upgrade instructions
* Difficult to find source for latest stock firmware
* Device won't boot to recovery after updating firmware; need to update dtbo & vendor_boot
It seems like I've encountered a hiccup, and made things worse!
After a complete restore (and after many Android system updates) to Stock ROM and a clean flash of LineageOS 20, none of my network services seem to function anymore.
I use Verizon since it works where I live. I had set up and provisioned everything beforehand on Stock and confirmed working, but back on LineageOS, nothing seems to play nicely.
I went to *#*#3646#*#* and checked IMS status:
IMS Registration: Not Registered
Voice over LTE: Unavailable
Voice over WiFi: Unavailable
Video Calling: Unavailable
UT Interface: Unavailable
I have re-done my flashes twice (restore stock ROM using MSM, update to latest OxygenOS, etc.) and followed each step of https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/dre/install, including the partition copy, vendor_boot, and dtbo images, but to no avail.
Edit: I could try doing a reflash of the stock ROM's modem.img.
Edt 2: No luck.
I followed the LOS instructions, device booted and then immediately crashes and displays Qualcomm Crashdump Mode. After several reboots with the same issue, I booted into recovery and did a factory reset. It looks like the touch screen doesn't work at all. Apparently, you're supposed to download the latest OxygenOS firmware via the OxygenUpdater app prior to following the LOS 20 instructions.
I've tried downgrading to 19.1 so that I can use the OxygenUpdater, but apparently downgrading is not allowed.
Any suggestions on either downgrading to 19.1 or getting 20 working properly?

To be fair when you look at the 19.1 -> 20 upgrade instructions, it does tell you that you need to upgrade to the latest firmware.
You should be able to upgrade the firmware following the guide on the wiki and if need be reflash the 20 install zip.
Aww, you're correct. I didn't carefully read through those messages - I thought that notice was to confirm the device was updated to the latest version of 19.1 prior to the 20 upgrade.
According to the wiki, I need download the latest Android 12 stock firmware via the Oxygen Updater app. However, my device won't actually boot into a functioning OS to do so. Any suggestions on how to obtain the Android 12 fw? I've found a oneplus thread but it only provides a fw link to rollback to Android 11.

Much appreciated. I downloaded the firmware and extracted the stock rom with payload-dumper-go, then flashed the images per the instructions. I then re-sideloaded the LineageOS 20 rom, rebooted, and now I'm good to go. Touch screen works great and I haven't experienced any Qualcomm Crashdumps. Thanks ipilcher and CmdrCrichton for the help.

It sounds like you did what I did and skipped updating the firmware prior to updating to LineageOS 20.
Download the firmware here:
https://android.googleapis.com/packages/ota-api/package/6be3f133f8fb9bbcc30d787679bd7b5da5e30995.zip
Then follow these steps: https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/dre/fw_update
I then sideloaded LineageOS 20 again, but I'm not sure if that step was necessary.
So I updated from 19.1 following instruction on Lineage OS site and everything is up and running. Few issues though: network connectivity is hit or miss, sd card no long works and the screen blacking out that was present in 19.1 is still present.

I'm also experiencing the issue with the SD card, at least it's not visible via the Files (documentsui) app. Haven't had an issues with network connectivity thus far.
I'm also not seeing my SD card show up. Windows picks it up just fine, but my phone doesn't even recognize that anything is in there.

Thanku so much bro i fixed that issue of lineage OS 20 ................
This update is not meant for DE2118 (T-Mobile version) converted to DE2117, is it?
I have tried it twice so far, converting to DE2117 Android 11, updating all the way to April update and installing Lineageos. SDCard doesn't work and I can't make calls out of the phone either directly or via Google Voice.
Should I wait for wiser heads to come up with a proper way to install it on converted T-Mobile device?

hello i have installed the lineage os 20 but i am facing only one bug now. in this bug my mobile data is disconnecting by its own. You have any fix for this ? Thanku.
Can I just install this over stock A12 but an older firmware and just follow instructions? Or do I have to downgrade to A11 still? I have been having trouble downgrading on DE118

You're supposed to install Lineage 20 on top of the latest version of OxygenOS 12, not 11.

I did. What I meant was: I installed Android 11 (for DE2117), took all the updates, including Android 12 FULL update, and the Android 12 April (incremental) update before installing Lineage 20.

Important Info
The newest lineage 14.1 flounder (Wi-Fi) builds rely on proprietary vendor and firmware components from the N9F27M (October 2017) monthly update from google. This means your device needs to have the vendor and bootloader img from that update. They can be extracted from the factory image on google's site here. Or you can use the ones linked below that I already extracted:
* vendor-flounder-n9f27m.img
* bootloader-flounder-3.50.0.0143.img
The vendor img is flashable with twrp or fastboot, but for the bootloader img use fastboot.
More information and installation instructions can be found on the LineageOS wiki here.

Wooooh! It's here
Can Nexus9 (lte) use this rom? If flash this rom only can not use lte,i can accept it.
Yeah! This is great news!
Will definitely flash this rom on my laggy N9
Can I dirty flash from the unofficial builds or should I do a full wipe?
Will it work on the LTE version? I don't mind if LTE does not work as long as I can try out the ROM without getting boot loops.

Thank you very much! I hope it is less laggy than the stock firmware.
vendor image is critical at time of OS installation
Hi there.
First of all, thanks so much for the official N9 build for Lineage. Really appreciate it.
I wanted to describe my experience this morning. I should start by saying that I am *not* a hacker, just an enthusiastic user. I can follow instructions, and have been using non-stock ROMs since Cyanogen 7.
I was upgrading from the most recent version of Cyanogen. Before I started, I upgraded to the latest TWRP. Then when booting into recovery, found that my decryption passphrase didn't work. I downgraded version by version until twrp-3.0.2-0-flounder.img which is apparently the latest that worked. After installing Lineage OS, I upgraded to the newest TWRP again.
More importantly, I wanted to point out that by following the instructions on the Lineage OS wiki for the Nexus 9, I almost got to the point of thinking I had bricked my device.
The main reason is that the instructions don't mention the Vendor image issue at all: https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/flounder/install
After wiping, installing Lineage OS and GApps pico, I rebooted. When it got to the decryption passphrase, I got the pop-up warning about the Vendor image being mismatched. No problem, I thought, as I've seen that before on Cyanogen installs. I put in my decryption passphrase. The screen remained unchanged for a couple of minutes, then I got something I'd never seen before. A page notifying me that my passphrase was correct, but the system was corrupt, and an option to fix it (no other option was available except to force power-off). So I took that option and it rebooted into TWRP. It boots into recovery and apparently runs a script and reboots the system again. But the same issue occurred again, nothing was fixed.
No problem, I thought, I'll just power-off, boot into the bootloader, enter recovery, and try again. Except that after installing Lineage, I found that volume-down+power button no longer started the bootloader!!! I tried many times, but the best I got was the device booting into the system and getting the same problem where it said the system is corrupt. It was at this point that I thought I had bricked the device - can't boot into system, can't get to the bootloader, so can't get to the recovery.
After many attempts, I tried one last thing:
Boot into system
On the corruption notification screen, I pressed the button to "fix" the system corruption
when the device rebooted into Recovery to run the script, instead of entering my passphrase, I hit cancel. This cancelled the script process but left me in recovery. I then selected reboot -> bootloader. Success!!
I was then able to connect the device to my laptop and copy the Vendor image I had extracted from the official Google system image using
Code:
fastboot flash vendor vendor.img
I then rebooted, and everything worked fine.
So it seems that in this instance, it may be critical to install the Vendor image before the first reboot. In earlier versions of Cyanogen when I had a vendor image mismatch it never prevented the device from booting and I was able to update it later on.
In which case, whoever has access to the wiki on the Lineage website - could you add those instructions in?
Just to add - I now seem to have bricked the device. Everything was working fine. I rooted the device using the supplied zip. It booted up fine. Now it won't reboot. It gets to the decryption passphrase field - verifies the password, continues to boot, and never finishes.
I can't get into the bootloader. Volume down+power doesn't work. Is there another way to do this?
Was using stock android on my Nexus 9. Already had root with the latest TWRP recovery installed. Did not run into any issues during the install(forgot to flash the Gapp at first, but could do it later in recovery, again no issues)
This is the first time I am using a Custom ROM. Got some questions .
1. I have the default apps for the lineage OS along with the same Gapps, How to remove the default lineage OS apps?
4. If anyone can share the advantages of the Nightly over custom ROM , it'll be great.
Other than these, no other major issues so far. will update the thread with the user experience
For anyone with LTE model please test this build. Let me know if there's any issues with lte or anything.

Here's the N4F27E vendor img for the LTE model, if you need it.
vendor-volantisg-n4f27e.img
thanks
No more testing needed. Results were good. Nightlies started for LTE model.

Decryption passphrase in TWRP? Or Lineage?
---------- Post added at 04:51 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:49 PM ----------
Just to let you all know, I got Lineage up and running, restored from my gmail account. I had stuck with 6.0.1 stock, 7 never cooperated, it was still getting laggy and what not. I will post more details about the install in a bit, but I just wanted to let any curious parties know this build seems to be working OK
Is the poor volume fixed in the official build or do we still need to flash a custom kernel to fix it?
I just flashed a minute ago. I've been waiting for this to be released. I switched over to Lineage on my OnePlus when it first came out. The nexus has been way too laggy on the latest stock releases. I hope this helps. I received a vendor image mismatch error on boot up but so far no issues. I'm going to flash gapps and will report back later. Thanks for working on this!!
The LTE one appears to be working fine in my tablet. Thank you

Wooooaahh, waited for this from long time! CONGO DEV!
I would like to mention that neither stricted or I have the device which makes development a bit harder since we are working blind here any donations are appreciated and will help in firther development
Congrats devs
Everything except the cam and fingerprint reader as mentionned is working pretty well :good:
In general, the animations/transitions have some latency but it's ok for an alpha build.
Note for users that iris recognition isn't working because of AOSP limitation for now.
If you want to test it safely, you can use this dual boot guide : https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...t/patcher-dualboot-multiboot-samsung-t3683203
YAAAY finally!!!
I hope that this doesnt get EOL-ed after the first build gho like the other aosp roms and we get it to be somewhat stable. Thanks guys
Congrats @Stricted and @Ivan_Meler ?
I have doubted if this would ever happen but seems like finally succeeded. Many AOSP fans (or TouchWiz haters) will be glad to see this build.
All the best for the future?
first of all: thank you devs for taking on our beloved device!:good:

- the in-screen "homebutton": when device is locked you can press it and feel the feedback, but no action. when screen is on -> no response at all.
- wi-fi not working: when i switch it on it turns off again after a second. no amount of clean and/or dirty flashes solves it. flashing different modem versions doesnt help either. only solution is flashing a wifi fix from yash92dusters' lightrom. i cant find it there anymore since it was an older build. funnily enough i had the exact same issue on deluxerom 9.3 and not on lightrom, for what the fix was intended for.
thanks again. once the camera is working i can finally stick to LOS.
Thank you for working on this! I had given up hope that N8 would ever get Lineage

I tested last night, had no issues with WiFi (although my test was only for about an hour). The only things I found not working are the ones reported (camera, fingerprint and home button wake up), very good build considering the first one.
Unfortunately for me, camera is a deal breaker so I'm back to my usual for now but will test each release.
Hey guys. Its true. The Wifi problem exists only for some people. Like i said, i didnt have that problem on lightrom even though the fix was made for it. Unfortunately it is deleted from that post and i cant figure out how to make attachements to post it here
Edit: if u have that issue it appears immediately or not at all.
You guys are nuts, thank you so much for bringing true AOSP-like ROMs for the Note8.

For people having the wifi bug, please update your bootloader and modem to latest versions available (be careful not to install Pie versions if you want to rollback to Samsung Oreo one day) and perform dalvik cache & cache wipe after installing LOS and before rebooting your device

Instructions:
Flash Lineage Recovery and use the instruction from there to flash it, or flash TWRP
Format Data/Factory Reset
Flash the build (Use adb sideload, or push the file to sdcard with mtp)
Reboot
Or if you want to flash gapps or magisk
Reboot to recovery again
Flash Gapps (Optional)
Flash Magisk (Optional)
Reboot
If you have issues with installing Gapps or Magisk because of "Failed to mount /system". Go to Advanced -> Mount /system
Download: r5q
Notes:
VoLTE, IMS, and other samsung specific stock rom features wont be ported or fixed.
CTS won't ever pass anymore, because google have rolled out Hardware Attestation SafetyNet for our device. Basically, CTS will fail if you unlocked your bootloader.
Screen would sometimes flicker after or before using the fingerprint, just a disclaimer that i wont be responsible if theres a person with epilepsy using this build

Finally!!! Already using it pretty stable build... ?
Awesome. The Rom is stable and a lot better than samsung firmware. Thank u very much, Sir!
Awesome!
Finally a custom ROM.
I love the phone, but hate the fact that it doesn't have a Pro mode in the camera.
How's the ROM? Stable? And does the camera have a pro mode?
Looks nice, I am waiting for the official ROMs.
I have been a oneplus 3t user in which I tried almost every ROM on my phone. I am very curious to try out various ROMs on my samsung s10 lite.
Thanks for the developers who work hard to live the phone younger all time.
Will this work on any S10 Lite device? On SM/G77F/DS?
Will G770F get LineageOS 18?
volte not working even with Snapdragon processor ??
New releases are now up on https://github.com/mainey/release-r5q/releases/tag/LineageOS-17.1-20201008
Changelogs and instructions on how to upgrade vendor are included in the release note.
Make sure to mark the repo as watched to get updates on new releases.
Please report the issues on TG if there's any.
Will install this after no more Update in few years keep it up i like Lineage Os, but now I still like battery life ?
Thanks for posting this rom, I really appreciate your work on this. I just unlocked my boatloader last night, installed recovery and got this loaded up. Really enjoying it so far, no issues to report as of now (stable). Battery life seems about as good as stock. One question though, is there any way with AOSP roms to get the fingerprint scanner to work from sleep and not just the lock screen? That's the only downside I have found between this rom and stock thus far (I really liked just putting my finger on the scanner to awake and unlock the device at once).
Thanks again for your work; looking forward to further updates!
call recording unlocked for all countries with this rom ?
i dunno what iam doing wrong. iam not able to sideload this rom.
first of all, the recovery is this tar file, right?

second, when i try to sideload this rom

it stops exactly at 47%
every time. iam not sure what iam missing here. i follow the steps, but it seems not to finish.

I was having the same issue and was perplexed. The kernel.tar file IS NOT the recovery file, the link is a bit misleading. It's at the bottom of that page titled "LineageOS Recovery 20200818". When I tried installing it and was getting the same issue, I was using the stock recovery and getting that error. The "LineageOS Recovery 20200818" is what you're looking for.

I'm half way through my second day at 48% screen on time, about 90% of it on WIFI, with 5hrs 31mins of screen on time (mostly internet browsing and about an hour and a half of video streaming). Hard to say depending on specific uses, but I am very satisfied. It's at least equivalent to stock if not better.

how about magisk? when i have the lineage recovery and run lineageos, can i simply sideload it in recovery? or do i need to follow samsung specific magisk instructions on the github page?
Can I still flash it after the android 11 one ui 3.0 update? I tried using twrp but it always kept booting on fastboot mode, I guess the bootloader is of different version. I guess i will have to wait till someone introduces android 11 based custom rom for s10 lite.

I think i had to mention this, booting recovery now requires you to have usb plugged in while you're punching the recovery combo to enter recovery.
Also, i've fixed the lineage recovery yesterday, sorry for the hassle.
New release are up! New release have a new repo right here https://github.com/mainey/r5q-archive/releases , hopefully this would be less confusing for the end users to find files needed. The old repo would now only releases new vendor updates from samsung.

What's handy?
How did you patch boot.img and root the ROM?
Is there a how-to for noobs? I guess all my knowledge on how to flash custom ROMs from 2 years ago are completely useless after all.
Thanks!

Are you on Android 12? If so, you need to downgrade to android 11 first.
Interested in trying this but need some confirmation, if it works properly on the AT&T network as when trying most GSI data, calls and text never worked properly.
I just bought a 9 Pro because I couldn't take how badly this phone ran OOS. Will give this a shot after a while.
Thanks Dev!! Room is so smooth and haven't find any issues at all, feels like a new device, can't believe I stayed on Oos 12 that long, what a difference. Easy to install, easy to root, thanks keep it up
did everything and its boot looping from the spash screen ;(
tried a few times and with diffrent gapps and with no gapps
what gapps zip is for this phone?
Oh damn. I've already switched to a Samsung Galaxy A53. Which is about 33% faster CPU wise and more than twice as fast GPU wise. I still have the phone though. I installed this and it works pretty damn good. I may just switch back over.

I used MindTheGapps. The zip for 12.1.
not sure if all my flashing and converting to the global version messed up the partitions or something? every attempt to flash this always ends in a boot loop

If you are switching from OxygenOS 12, that's why. Otherwise, I will need more information than "my device bootloops".

Got it to install and boot. Used a different Gapps package and it works. Got an error with Android auto. Any ideas?

If you didn't flash MindTheGapps, then chances are I can't really help with this. You may have to ask whoever made the Gapps package you went with.
