Cool, I'll test it today, do we need to flash gapps?
Great work man.
Very cool rom, but it has little problem with translations on russian and ukrainian languages, and will be great to add charging animation ticker

I'd like to see some screenshots as well. I'm also curious to see how well it performs on the S8.
I'm planning on rooting my S8 soon and installing ROMs, just waiting on a carrier unlock code from Xfinity at this point.

Very helpful response. Like I requested earlier, I have already tried Lineage/Ricedroid and while I loved the ROMs the battery life and phone heat up was not worth it. I don't have as much free time on my hands as I used to so I can't just install a ROM on a whim to try it out anymore.

Formatting data in twrp erases the data partition (where just your userapps and their data are located) and the internal storage (your sdcard)
The system files of the rom inclusive gapps are installed in system, system_ext and the product partition which won't be touched when u format data.

Thank you for this great ROM. I am facing a issue that when I reboot the device, time automatically changed to IST 5:00PM if I am not connect to a network (wifi or cellular). But whenever I get network, time changing to correct. Facing this issue with latest Legion OS also. Please fix this in upcoming build. Thank you.

I will check, friend. But it is a big novelty for me. I will make a question as user like you: How the celular will mantain the time synced without wifi or mobile data? I bet that IST is the India standard time for you variant.

Sorry sir, I was not able to made you understand. Usually the place I live, my device do not get any signal there and whenever I reboot the device, time and date get changed to some specific time and date . And whenever I get the network (may be wifi or cellular signal), the time sets automatically as I have enabled use network provided time from time settings. I turn off that settings, set the exact time manually and reboot but the problem still persists. Simply Android time and date reset after reboot.

Thank you pal
I do not recieve any incoming calls for some reason, can someone help me. I was using Evolution X rom and i did a clean flash
So, I installed this ROM last night and was amazed with it. The best ROM ever I used till date (previous was PE ROM). Very fluid ROM, awesome UI, good set of tweaks to customize. Stability is not that much and this needs to be fixed within next updates else the best ROM ever. (Stability in the sense that sometimes few of the options are mixing like moto gestures and keyboard doesn't load at all). Thank you developer(s).
I installed dotOS 5.2 GApps Ver using Batik Recovery. So the problem I got is that some android service is stopped and and no app opens. Phone is stuck at home screen. I reboot device and it starts working just fine. But after this issue occured 3 times, my phone charging percentage is not changed and it starts decreasing but it charges. On reboot the final charging percentage reflects. This problem is persisted even after every reboot.
Please help me here.

Project Sakura is a custom ROM based on Lineage OS, It tries to remain true to it while also providing some more functionality and UI changes. Its sole purpose is to provide a platform that is powered by Lineage and is more customisable than Lineage.
Code:
* Your warranty is now void.
* We are not responsible for anything that may happen to your phone by installing any custom ROMs and/or kernels.
* You do it at your own risk and take the responsibility upon yourself and you are not to blame us or XDA and its respected developers.
"This is a user-friendly thread, all your suggestions are important to us and will be taken into consideration."
CLEAN/FIRST TIME FLASH :
- Download the Build (GApps Included)
- Reboot to recovery (Almost any recovery would work)
- Take backup (optional)
- Flash your firmware(If required)
- Factory Reset
- Reboot To Recovery
- Flash the ROM (Using TWRP/OFox recommended)
- Reboot to Recovery (Lineage OS Recovery should appear)
- Reboot to system
- Enjoy
UPDATE/DIRTY FLASH :
- Download the Build [to PC/SDCARD if using Lineage OS Recovery]
- Take backup (optional)
- Reboot to recovery
- Flash your firmware(If required)
- Flash the ROM.zip [ADB Sideload if using Lineage OS Recovery]
- Reboot to system
- In case this results in bootloops, clean flash again (that's why I asked to take a backup prior to updating)
- Enjoy
OVER-THE-AIR (OTA) UPDATE :
Make sure you're using Lineage OS Recovery, it may not work with other recoveries. If even after following proper steps here, it says "Update Failed" or something, report to me [READ MORE]. Check if OTA is mentioned as a bug in the post below.
- Take backup (optional)
- Go to Settings > Sakura Configs > Sakura Updates > System Updates
- You can check for updates by clicking the update icon on the top-right
- If there are no updates found, check you are asked to clean flash in our Official Project Sakura Updates Channel, if yes, follow the first guide to clean flash, if not, after making sure that you have a proper internet connection, try rebooting the system. If still says not found, follow the Update guide on top.
- After the updater finds the update, click on Download, and hold the update if you want to switch mirrors.
- Let the update download and once it is done, it should inform you thru notification
- Once it is done, click on install and it should start installing, this does take longer than flashing it manually, but here we can go back and continue doing what you want to do, while it is updating. Maybe go continue the movie you were watching.
- Once that is done, select Reboot and... Tada, you're in the latest version of Project Sakura.
- In case this results in bootloops, clean flash again (that's why I asked to take a backup prior to updating)
NOTE: While ADB Sideloading, if the installation process reports the message (~47%) adb: failed to read the command: No error, do not worry, the process was completed successfully and you can restart the device. )

Existing Device Side Bugs (On build released on 12/10/2021)
[Updated on 13th October 2021]
- You tell me
If you think the bug is source side and NOT device side, skip the rest of the post and read the official Project Sakura Wiki and also report in Project Sakura Official Telegram Chat
How to [properly] report bugs?
What do I do when I encounter a bug?
Support Group
Check if you are getting the issue, every time you do something, or if it is a one time issue
Report it on our Telegram Group with all the information you think is important and look if its a known issue or is there a fix already
Get to know if others are reporting it too, refer to XDA and/or Telegram Group
If you are rooted/using a custom kernel, try unrooting and switching between kernels or switch back to the stock kernel. If using a different kernel fixed your issue, report it to me in my Telegram Group or leave a reply here.
If the issue persists, take a back up then format data via recovery [clean flash]
If the issue still persists, take logs when the issue occurs [Click me for guide] and report with all the information you think is important (like, did you face this in the previous version, is this a bug in many other ROMs too, what have you tried till now, how do I replicate your issue on my device)
If you have not faced the issue in the previous build, then feel free to go back to that if you want to.
If you report saying "Youtube crash" without properly following the procedure above, your bug report shall be ignored, instead say "Youtube app crashes on my phone when I am trying to watch a video at 4k 60fps, I have dirty flashed this build from the exactly previous build thru OTA here are logs for the same" and give proper logs, you might as well get your bug fixed, it's not too hard to report bugs properly.

I have stuck with crdroid for a long time. I don't think I will be jumping to any other ROM anytime soon. MIUI, that is a hell no for me. Its too clunky and laggy, and you can tell as soon as you install it.
What latest firmware means required? My problem is I don't know how to get back on stock 12.0.5 . When I'm flashing on mi tool it say "metadata is not allowed on snaphotted state" and now I'm stuck at ancient rom which have anx camera

depends on the custom Rom... in any case you should backup your apps in case a clean flash (deleting all data) is required.

Alas, but most likely not, I do not pretend to be an official build, and I do not see the point in connecting and activating OTA.

That means we shouldn't update through OTA?

OTA and will not work. This is only for official firmware. There is no OTA in unofficial firmware. But no one forbids installing the firmware on top without wipe.
Why build a rom without updates because of the fact you work on other roms?
Simply useless and it have no sense!!!

NOTE: It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup (or with any backup/restore app) as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug, restoring regular apps is fine. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.

- As you know build is free but building ROM needs server and in order to maintain the source, we need High-End Servers that are generally very expensive and need to be renewed every single month and as a student its quite difficult. To meet with our technical expenses, a cup of coffee, and the efforts of the developers we need your monetary support!

Do we actually need the 13.0.1 FW?
I tried flashing that **** on my phone and it bricked it. When i rebooted it I only had a blank screen and all i could boot to was the fastboot mode.

I didn't fastboot flash it.
I just installed the firmware and it kinda bricked my phone. I could only boot to fastboot like i said. I am a bit sceptic of fastboot flashing it because of losing IMEI. I have my IMEI backup, but i am still scared it's gonna wipe my imei again. I definitely don't wanna go through the pain of recovering my IMEI.

losing IMEI thru flashboot lol? nope.
if you will choose right miui region you won't lose your imei or any other nvram data. i flash to the latest miui version through flashboot, reset data again, and then flash custom rom img throught recovery.

Yeah that might be the problem. I flashed the global version and I am from Serbia (probably should be on the EEA version). I already backed up my IMEI but I haven't tried it properly yet so I am not sure if it works well.

move your backup to pc to be sure that it's safe, because while flashing custom roms or just official ones all data will be deleted in clean flash, not sure about sdcard.
just flash imei archieve via twrp OR shrp (works better on merlin, but actually based on twrp)

Please intrusions to this rom step by step. Kernel shrp, pixel failed I don't know why.
SHR recovery assert failed: update_dynamic_partitions(package_extract_file("dynamic_partitions_op_list"))
From twrp install V13.0.1.0.SJOMIXM
Restart to recovery again and install S recovery. Restart to S recovery, clear data.
In S recovery ( I get lineageos recovery) adb sideload Project Elixir.......zip.
Does it support fast charging?

Hey! Gonna try this ROM in a bit.
I assume everything works.
* What is the best camera app for me to use that supports the wide lens?
* What Gapps would you recommend using? these are Gapps Builds
* Would installation work with SHRP_v3.1_stable-Official_merlin-1628943443.img recovery ? I see there is a telegram group for TWRP builds -> (https://t.me/twrp_mt6768) I don't like this
