Greetings. I've had a very painful week trying to unlock the bootloader of my Poco C40, I waited a week for the wait to finish so I can unlock it and when it was done I thought it was going to be smooth sailing from now on.
However, for some reason whenever I try to unlock it, it goes up to 50% and gets an error saying it couldn't verify my device and get info, and that I should connect it again.
I didn't know what it meant by connect again, so I tried reconnecting the USB cable (different ports, cables, etc...), re-adding my account for unlocking. Yet, neither of those options seem to have fixed the problem.
If you have some advice that you could give and it would be greatly appreciated.
Hi MitsuhashiIcy, Soory to say but Mi unlock works only with Qualcomm and Mediatek socs. And you have CHIPSET JLQ JR510 which is worse than Mediatek.
But still you can give try. I think by following the above instruction you can unlock the Bootloader :-
DOWNLOAD Xiaomi Poco C40 USB Drivers.
DOWNLOAD Mi Unlock Tool.
DOWNLOAD Xiaomi Poco C40 fastboot drivers.
FIRST DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL AVOBE FILES FIRST.
Step 1: Enable The Developer Option and OEM UnlockStep 2: Time To Link Your Xiaomi Poco C40 with Mi AccountStep 3: Final Step: Unlocking Bootloader on Xiaomi Poco C40 # Boot Xiaomi Poco C40 into Fastboot mode.
# Grab the original cable of your smartphone and then connect it to your PC while in fastboot mode.
# If you have downloaded the Mi Unlock tool from the above pre-requisites section, then simply just extract the zip file and then run the miflash_unlock.exe file.
# Also, proceed with logging into your Mi Account on the unlock tool with the right credentials.
# When you get successfully logged in to your Mi Account, the tool will begin to verify whether your phone is eligible for unlocking bootloader.
# After your phone gets verified, you will see the status on the tool displaying "Phone Connected".
# Now, just click on the "Unlock" button available on the tool interface to start the unlocking bootloader process.
# Once, you click the button, It will prompt a warning message, where you just need to ignore and click on the "Unlock Anyway" button.
# When the process gets complete, you will be served with a message displaying "Unlocked Successfully".
# At last, click on the button, so that your phone boots up in the unlocked bootloader state.
That's it... YOU CAN GIVE A TRY.

Thank you for the reply, I'm sorry I couldn't reply earlier as it was already late for me.
I have tried installing the adb drivers first through the adb-setup exe file, however, when I try to install it, it says that access was denied.
I decided to ignore it for now and go to the Mi Unlock tool that you've linked, I noticed it was a really old version but nonetheless I went with it. The first thing I noticed was how slow the sign in page was, I had to log in via qr scanner through another device because I couldn't manually put in my credentials.
After that I managed to sign in, but instead of directly taking me to the screen where it tells me to boot my phone to fastboot mode and connect it to my pc and all that stuff, it took me to this screen showing my phone number and email (which I've censored). I haven't found a way around this screen to get me to where I want to be.
Suppose I'm on my own once again.
I seem to have managed to unlock the bootloader for my Poco C40 with the official Mi Unlock tool using version 7.6.602.42, so if anyone wants to know whether or not it is possible to unlock Poco C40's bootloader with Mi Unlock, now you know.

Entering method 4
I have downloaded latest developer rom,
moved it to phone's internal memory,
But when I tried to update with updater app, it throws an error that I am permitted to update to other stable update only.
For other methods, I am getting error at 50% "Couldn't verify device - Current account is different from the account info on the device". The phone is also not booting to EDL mode. It's just booting to android instead.

But as you have said on your other thread the method in the link follows fastboot mode which is for unlocked Bootloader only. My phone's Bootloader is still locked. And I am unable to enter EDL mode also. Phone reboots to android when I try to enter download mode.

Without edl mode with locked bootloader it is not possible to flash. So there are various methods to open edl mode. Search on google you will get it.

So does your PC have a Ryzen processor? And does it have only USB3 ports? If the answer to any of those questions is yes, that's your problem. Get a 4 port USB 2 hub and connect thru that. Use an Intel processor PC. Elle find an AMD PC that doesn't have a Ryzen processor.

Points to ponder to unlock bootloader of Poco F1
1) After taking permission from developer option>Mi unlcok status; wait for minimum 3 days.
2) Desable driver signature in windows 10 before installing any driver.
3) Check in the device manger that the android bootloader driver must be from Xiaomi inc.
4) Turn off any antivirus including Window defender if any in your PC
5) While in fastboot mode update the driver manually to save .inf file. This is must. If you fail to save .inf file for drivers then the drivers are not installed properly even if your phone shows in device manager. Remember that.
6) Now your are good to go.
Keeping MIUI account "signed in" ;MI cloud showing only one device i.e. Poco F1 and find device must be ON before trying to unlock bootloader.
Mi Unlock status stuck, keeps saying "Connect to network and try again" while net is
I'm trying to activate Mi unlock status on my old redmi3 so I can unlock the bootloader using their tool, but every time I press the button it 1st says "Preparing to add account and device.." then near instantly " Connect to network and try again" (and if I try with no net then the 1st message doesn't show). The phone is tied to the Mi account, I know for sure since now every time I reinstall the ROMs it tells me is tied and I need to enter the Mi account password, its only Mi unlock status the doesn't and keeps the Mi unlocker from unlocking my bootloader.
Backstory:
So I have a redmi3 (ido) with android 5.1.1 bought in 2016, finally decided to try and update my phone from the ****ty vendor ROM (MIUI 6.9...smt) that had the updater bugged (the app couldn't also connect to net to check) and Mi unlock status missing, flashed MIUI 9.6.2.0 from the official site using their tool which fixed the updater (but now I can't downgrade) and now has Mi unlock but as I said it doesn't work.
What I tried so far:
-Log off Mi account and log in through the Mi unlock status (also tried using phone number as id)
-Change location to China or Indonesia then try again (tried both)
-Make sure the phone is the only device tied to the Mi account
-Enable "Find device" then use it to locate the phone (it was very accurate)
-try while having only Wi-fi or while having only mobile data on (tried both)
Here is some more info of the phone:
MIUI version: MIUI Global | Stable 9.6.2.0(LAIMIFD) (can also flash 9.6.1.0)
Android version: 5.1.1 LMY47V
Android security patch level: 2017-01-01
Baseband version: FAAANUZM-1.56482.1.63385.1_V013
Kernel version: 3.10.49.perf-g13b30f1
It also lets me enter in fastboot and EDL mode.
I had the same problem recently, after many tries I succeeded unlock bootloader.

I am facing the same issue. The version of the ROM is exactly the same as the InowHateXiaomi's.
However, the method above doesn't seem to work. The XiaoMiTool V2 doesn't download the Chinese ROM.
I tried whatnot but cannot add the device to my account so that I can unlock it.
have tried this method..it tries to download the ROM but failed. dunno what wrong with my devices anymore.

i use this method but still dont solve anything, its say missing coockies or anything
Hi,
I just went through the unlocking process and wanted to share a few things I noticed. It won't be a "unlocking guide", but more kind of a "collection of tips and tricks". Hope this can help someone in sorting things out. Happy unlocking to everyone!

"EU/global version" of Mi Pad 4
As someone stated in another thread, and as I understood it, there is no such "global" or "EU" version of this tablet, but there is a "global/EU" ROM you can flash on it. And it seems that in europe there has been some market on these tablets that came with the global ROM preinstalled. As far as I know, the only way to flash the global/EU ROM is to unlock the bootloader, so these sellers had to go through the same process of unlocking. Now the problem is: to unlock the bootloader you require to link the tablet with a Xiaomi account, and you need the same account to unlock it again. So I guess that for these tablets one needs to be careful when buying them with the global ROM preinstalled, as you may need the phone number associated with the Xiaomi account that was set by the seller back then to unlock it again! Fortunately the one I bought came with the official chinese ROM and with no Xiaomi account linked to it, so I could manage to unlock it.
SIM card being necessary to unlock bootloader
I read that in some guides it is stated that you need to have a SIM card to unlock the bootloader installed in the tablet, and some users are asking how to do this on wifi only tablets. From what I've seen, there is no such prerequisite for wifi-only devices (which is kind of obvious, but peaople still ask). You still have to give a phone number to confirm your Xiaomi account as there is the need to enter some security code sent via SMS at some point. But the SIM card holding that number can obviously be on any phone!
About Xiaomi Fastboot drivers for Windows
I had several issues on making the Xiaomi Fastboot drivers working on my Windows PC: On my laptop running Windows 11, I had the issue that whenever the Xiaomi Unlock Tool was trying to connect, the Fastboot mode on the tablet just stopped with the message "press any key to shutdown". This seems to be a driver issue on some USB3 ports. Someone claimed there is a solution (see this post), but I used a Windows 10 laptop instead (also with only USB3 ports) and it worked OK there. Also, sometimes I connect the tablet via USB in Fasboot mode and I get no response on Windows (as nothing is attached). I solved it by uninstalling the device and re-installing the drivers manually that are provided in the Xiaomi Unlock Tool "driver" folder.
To check whether the drivers are working, just connect the tablet via USB while in Fastboot mode and check the Windows device manager. If device "Android Bootloader Interface" is properly installed (I got Xiaomi Drivers v16.0.0.0), you should be all set. If you get "Android device" or something with a question mark on it, I suggest to install manually the drivers (right click on the device, select "update drivers", then "Browse on my computer", and point to the "driver\win10" or "driver\xp-win7-win8" folder of the Xiaomi Unlock Tool).
If you have fastboot in your Windows PATH, read here, otherwise just ignore this
It seems that the Xiaomi Unlock Tool has a "fasboot.exe" in its own folder, which it has to use to unlock the bootloader. In my case, I already had adb and fastboot in my Windows PATH (so that I could just type "adb" in any CMD), and I think that the tool was using my fastboot version instead of its own one. The issue I had is that for some reason, the unlock process was hanging on 99%, and the tablet was then exiting fastboot and booting back to system. I checked the log and it seems to me that some fastboot commands were failing. As soon as I removed fastboot from Windows path, it magically worked. So my advice here is to simply remove whatever fastboot you have in the Windows path before using the unlock tool.
Unlocking steps I did
Finally, here's what I did to unlock it. Again, disclaimer: I don't know if these steps are 100% correct, but they worked in my case. So follow them at your own risk!
I did it on a Mi Pad 4 Wifi with the stock chinese ROM (running MIUI 10.3.2 & Android 8.1.0).
Go to Settings -> Mi Account and login to your Xiaomi account on the tablet, or if you don't have any, make one. Make sure the phone number you entered is reachable.
Go to Settings -> Additional settings -> Developer options and make sure "OEM Unlocking" and "USB Debugging" are turned on.
Still on the Developer options, go to "Mi Unlock Status". If it says "Unlocked", well guess what., you can stop here . If not, tap on "Add account and device" and wait for the success message. If you get something like "try later" (my case), what I did is to logout and re-login on the Xiaomi account. I then got the "success" message finally.
Download the Xiaomi Unlock Tool from here. Extract somewhere but do not start yet.
Open Windows Device Manager (Win+R, enter "devmgmt.msc").
Turn off the tablet and boot to Fastboot (Vol. Down + Power buttons). Now connect the tablet via USB.
First check on the tablet: if it shows "press any key to shutdown", then you have a driver issue. Please see this post for the solution, or try using a different PC.
Then, check on the device manager. If you see just "Android" with a question mark popping up, then you need to install the drivers. If you see "Android Bootloader Interface", then you are all set. If you don't see anything, then you need to uninstall and reinstall the drivers instead.
To install the drivers: right click on the device with question mark, select "update drivers", then "Browse on my computer", and point to the "driver\win10" or "driver\xp-win7-win8" folder where you extracted the Xiaomi Unlock Tool. After installing the drivers, try to boot to fastboot a second time. If you don't see the previously mentioned "press any key to shutdown", then you are all set.
To uninstall the device: On Windows Device Manager menu, go to "View" -> "Show hidden devices". You should find a greyed out "Android Bootloader Interface". Right click on it and select "Uninstall". Then, repeat the process again (boot to fastboot etc) and hopefully you will get the "Android device" with question mark where you can install drivers on.
Before starting the unlock tool, make sure you don't have any adb or fastboot in your windows PATH. You can check it by simply typing "fastboot --version" on any Windows CMD and see if it does something. In case you have, you better remove it, as the unlock tool has its own version of fastboot packed with it and you better let it use that one instead.
Once drivers are installed, start the Unlock Tool and login to your Xiaomi account. Then, once you see "not connected to the phone", boot the device to Fasboot again and quickly connect it via USB. If you see "Please wait 168 hours" or something like that (I did not see any of that), then most of the guides say that unfortunately you have to wait.
If you see the "Unlock button" not being grayed out anymore, then go for it. Get rid of the annoying popups saying "you are a bad person if you unlock", and finger crossed everything goes smooth!
Cheers,
Michele
Hi thank you for sharing this,
My Mipad 4 is LTE version, however the SIM only works when I turn on Wifi. Therefor, I can't start unlocking as I couldn't connect via Mobile Data.
Is there any solution for this?
