Hello and good afternoon, @BrotherBoard
I promise to try my very best and have finetuned the libraries of my radar warning equipment. Good to see that you well know. Your thoughts and opinions wanted

Hi all, I'm Rolf, and have been appointed as the Forum Specific Moderator for the HTC Espresso forums.
I'm looking for your opinions on how things are going in here, and if there is anything I can do to help ensure that everything is kept tidy and in the right place.
So far I have moved around 30 threads from the Development section to Q&A. As there are a fair number of postings here, this is a work in process! I have also deleted a number of trolling/argumentative posts in the General forum.
I'd just like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that if you are going to post a new thread, please think first about where it should go, and please treat other members with respect.
Please feel free to post in this thread if you are having any forum related issues, or PM me if you prefer. If I can't deal with your problem it will be escalated for a Senior Moderator to deal with.
Remember this is your forum, and we all need to do our bit to keep it clean, tidy, and productive.
This thread is NOT for people to complain about a post that has been moved or posted in the wrong place. If you think your post has been moved in error please PM me.
Thanks for reading this and I look forward to receiving your feedback.
Gratsy!
My thoughts are.... well, i've been thinking....
i mean, what was in my mind was....
oh what the hey, we need more themes for Espresso. I got them all from the t-mobile download site, but i need more!
This has nothing to do with anything does it.
Anyways, good job on the clean up! I've noticed that.

No, I'm a Desire owner. I'm not really here to answer device specific questions anyway, more to help keep things tidy and help members out where possible with forum related queries.
I already have knowledge of Android, and will try to keep up to speed with the Slide development.
I think the information is pretty well organized with the "rom bible" and what not but when it got to the rooting process I got kind of lost. Ive only done the G1 like a dosin times before this one so maybe im just used to it but I like the way it seemed like the g1 thread was layed out, but that it self seems like on a rom by rom basis..
Anyway I get lost all the time and I rooted/flashed my phone just fine using the site. So Thankyou!!

ETA's (Estimated Time of Arrival) Considered taboo?
Asking for an ETA is the XDA equivalent of telling a Developer that the free work they do just isn't enough for you. It usually comes across as rude and/or demanding, and most developers will take offense to it. Even if a particular Developer doesn't mind being asked for an ETA, there are many that do, and there's a good possibility that it will incite arguments in the forum. In the end, it's just best to avoid doing it altogether. If you have no other choice but to ask for an ETA (i.e. the work you're doing absolutely depends on it), then please, do it through a private message and keep it out of the public forums.

Hence the first line in the thread, "for anyone interested"... *Le-sigh* if you're not interested in checking out the community that's fine, but no need to troll. I find XDA and G+ both useful tools for many things -- others do too, thought I'd just pass it on.

Im aware there is another G+ community (there are several actually), and i know how to execute a "simple search", also "on a simple search" you might find the answer to your last question both in the op and in the community description! It is meant to me a more focused place for G2 diehards hence the name G2Su. Lastly i addressed trolling not two posts back, but thanks for the inquery! [emoji106]

Do you have a point? Or are you just an a** for fun? Or did your mom kick you and your D&D friends out of her basement so she could do laundry? The post you're referring to was posted in the off-topic section and that's perfectly fine in any community. That's why that section exists. Clearly you didn't read the rest of my response - no one forced you to join the community, just a friendly invitation. If you don't like what's in the community you can simply click the "leave" button.

In the defence of @cipry189, I realiz that he's got nothing better to do with this time & no one forced him to join the community, no one forced him to read the thread inviting people to the community, and certainly no one asked them to post in the thread inviting people to the community. BUT apparently he feels that it's a valid use of his resources to be an a**hat on XDA. "I'm good enough,*I'm*smart enough, and doggone it, people like me!"

December (2016) Firmware for MTCB and MTCC Units

Something is missing... My bad?
(original firmware in post #219)
Information will become available one week from now. On Tuesday, January 10th.
Postponed for a maximum of one month, to February 3rd.
Rule #1: However, if I see any denigratory comments, that is that I would consider as such, I will double the delay for each one.
So hold your peace. Preferably forever!
Rule #2: Beware, any comments made by people on my list, or moderators and such, are by definition offensive to me.
Rule #3: BTW, firmware works well on my unit. See u one week from today.
Rule #4: My thanks to all that conveyed support to me during past month. I liked them both!
Ouch, @tariqkhan.co.uk is still (accidentally) on my list... I would refrain from posting here until next week... This one time, I let it pass...
So, where were you, @justmpm, during my past grievance? Having fun... Release is postponed for another week, as per rule #2!
(Eh bien, dansez maintenant.) -- I heard that moderators can erase their posts at will. True, so true... That would reverse the postponement...
I was more generous than the Forum representatives, by delaying the release for only one week, and also offering instant redemption.
All I wanted was a short period of reflection (aka "testing firmware before release"), free of deplorable intrusions, trespassing.
But each forum has the users & moderators it deserves...
Anyway, if it's of any consolation to those who wanted to use the firmware sooner than later, I couldn't see any significant difference - just the classic KLD launcher and probably Play Store good access - though I haven't checked out the latter yet.
Finally, isn't there a special place, for moderators to moderate?
I find it troubling that particular/technical threads are lead in number of thanks by "alien" moderators. Really, they make a disservice with their ostentation instead of keeping a low profile... in that place where fun goes to die!

I still do not mind the OP here, I just wish he lighten up with this silliness. I will still try to support him all I can.

I think Senior Mods should count double over regular Mods. If we're going to play fair and all.

So if everyone on his list posts, does that mean his firmware will be delayed for 16 weeks + 3 weeks for the mods who have posted = 20 weeks ?

You forgot to add in the mystery factor. When more Mods post than users, it's an automatic multiplier of 10...
So we're at about 200 weeks... Should be enough time to actually produce something...

Question How long for some custom ROMs

Hey I've never bought a phone on launch and was wondering how long it takes for people or groups to make some custom ROMs and when we can expect them roughly?
As long as it takes. It's generally considered rude to ask this question.
Call 877 Roms now.

I've never owned a Google device....I know Samsungs took forever, and then the fanboys would get pissed saying the Samsung was perfect there was no need for custom ROMs.
However long it takes; I can't wait to play!

Affirmative, you can! However, only as long as your question or more generally your post is in line and complies with the XDA Forum Rules, to which you agreed to adhere when you registered on this private website a few days ago. I'm assuming you thoroughly read them at that time.
As a new user I like to draw your attention also to the guidances that are stuck at top of every forum and supposed to be read prior to posting.
Last but not least: Welcome to XDA! I hope you'll always get the support you require.
P.S. I've subscribed to this thread to monitor that it doesn't derail especially from the requirements of rule no. 2 about member conduct.

I'm also absolutely convinced to follow the general rules our parents educated us about behaviour, language and conduct will always be a perfect guideline wherever we have social interactions or exchange of information.
However, we all know that these "general rules" aren't sufficient in real life, be it a society or community, be it a private website like XDA. Therefore the general rules or even universal, fundamental rights are supplemented laws etc. or in case of XDA by the XDA Forum Rules that I've above linked. We don't want XDA to become like one of the well known and famous social media platforms, and we want our members to talk to and to approach each other with respect.
For this reason, we clearly enforce our forum rules. We do not censor on XDA, we like and encourage vivid discussions and exchange of knowledge, experience and information but we moderators benchmark ourselves against the forum rules. If your post or thread gets deleted, if you become friendly warned or formally infracted, if your account gets temporarily or permanently banned you can be sure you have violated (in the latter cases repeatedly) the forum rules. For this reason, it might be worth to read them even if it appears a lot to read.
Allow me a personal, probably off-topic remark: If we weren't reading, if we weren't searching for knowledge and information, if we didn't consolidate all the information we've read and found during our searches, how could we ever progress? My personal recommendation to everybody is always: To read, read, and read if you want to evolve. I'm pretty mature as some other people would say but my experience is also that if you need support or assistance by others it's quite often only provided if you show somehow that you already tried to solve the problem yourself i.e. e.g. you thoroughly search and have read a lot.
I agree with the read, read, read.
If you do not read and understand before modding your device. You can look forward to a big head ache.

Ahhh, the HD2. That was my favorite phone of all time. Great hardware and the first / only phone I know of where it was possible to install a completely different OS and have it work perfectly. (Phone came with Windows Phone but was much better with Android.) I loved it so much I think I still have it in a drawer somewhere along with my Palm Pre.
