[REQUEST] Need the default Radio app - Optimus One, P500, V General

Hi! I am currently using an unofficial port of CM7 on my O1. I downloaded from this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=946354
However, the radio app in this ROM is not pretty good, it won't scan channels and the quality is bad as well. While fiddling with Titanium Backup, I deleted the default app!
I was trying to find the default radio app but couldn't find it. Can someone please help me with installation of the default radio app for O1? I would like to go for the original radio that came with 2.2 since that was perfect for me.
Guys please help me!!

It will not work on CM7. Extract it from the CM7 build.

OK. Well, can you tell me or guide me to some threads which can tell me how to go about it? Or is there any other app that I can use to tune into local radio? Please help me with this.

Download the build that you've flashed and open it with winrar or winzip. Navigate in it to apps and search for the radio app. I think it is called FM.apk. After this, push it via ADB or copy it with root explorer to /system/app.
Don't forget to change permissions.
P.S: also copy FM.odex and change permissions.

Thanks for the info badeaioan. But can you please direct me to any posts which can guide me regarding pushing files using adb? I tried using Ghost Commander but couldn't get it to copy files into the /system/app folder since it is giving me a -Read-only File System error. Can I use Terminal Emulator? If yes, how??? I am not a developer that's why I am asking so many questions.

Froyo FM Radio app needed
I'm with the same problem, I had 2.2 Froyo on my O1, and today upgraded to Cyanogenmod 7 port, Gingerbread 2.3.3 witch came with an FM radio app tha does not suit my needs, incluing turnig bluetooth on without needing it...
I'm no debveloper either so I would like some instructions in changing radio app.
Thanks

I do not understand what these instruction are for. Wouldn't the procedure reinstall the rom radio app we do not like? It is too late, am I missing anything? If so, sorry

Hey guys. Copy the file to /system/app/ with the root explorer change the permissions (rw-r--r--) and reboot.
Working on 2.2 with devoid.franco.
Try it and leave your comment.

2.2 Radio app wont work with CM7, Radio app "hacked" by Mik has some problems, if you cant live with CM7 radio app, then I suggest for you to go back to any 2.2.x ROM.
Previous instructions were just for reinstalling CM7 radio app
EDIT: Try this one, see if you like it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1071312

I +1 somanshmittal.
I love the FM radioapp by from LG. Is there any way to work it in CM7.2 !

yes please
The Radio on froyo 2.2 was indeed much better than Cyanogen Mod7.2 . It had 12 channels, as opposed to 6 channels. and auto scan as well. Can someone suggest me how to get a better Radio App than the one on CM7 ?

You would have to buy spirit fm unlocked else try to hack on your own. There is no way yet to make it work. Also as mentioned previously on this forum fm and Bluetooth are on same chip. So turning on one will start the other

Since FM & BT are on same chip (H/W), whichever rom u use, it turns on both, only the BT icon is not enabled in default FM

[Q] Apps disappear in Market of CM 6.x ROM

Some apps disappeared from Market (can no longer be found with either browsing by category or using the search function) after I flashed CM 6.0/6.1 ROM, including FoxyRing, PingChat, Seesmic, Foursquare, etc.
I have tried MarketAccess.apk, no luck.
Could anyone help me please?
Is this because of the Android version? Is froyo not supported by those apps?

OK I admit this a stupid question. Of course it is because Android 2.2 is not supported by those apps. :-S

I find all of the above apps when searching for them. Using Floyo 1.1.9, which is a 2.2 rom

Thank you for your information! I will try replacing my Vending.apk with that from a Floyo ROM and do some investigation.
Tried Vending.apk from Floyo. No luck.
Also compared system versions between the two ROMs. Didn't see any difference.
Totally confused now...

Attached are screenshots to show the version information of my current ROM and the Vending.apk.
It's driving me crazy!
I just flashed Floyo, installed FoxyRing, Foursquared, Seesmic, PingChat with the Market, and saved the four apk files in my sdcard.
Then I restored my CM6.1-RC1 and try to install the four apk files I just saved.
But my phone won't let me install them. It just keeps saying "not installed".
What is the trick that Floyo ROM has done to make it work??

Same problem with a few apps.
How are you installing it? Parsing is a type of translation that programs do... I need more info.

followed these instructions herehttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=780687
what ROM are you using? issue may be that voicedialer.apk requires a LIB in order to work.
if you are using a CM-based ROM, the lib is NOT included by default (you will have to download google-apps package to get the lib).
so, you can pull the lib from either a 2.1 or 2.2 ROM and use (of course, for whatever version you are using).
that being said, have you tried to DL the voice dialer app (google, of course) from the market? i just dl'ed and installed on CELB3.6 and it works just fine!

[Request] Defy Stock Alarm App

Hi. Can anyone please post the stock alarm app from Motorola Defy? I upgraded to CM7 and I really miss the 'red' alarm with tap to snooze and slide to dismiss! I am currently using ZDClock which is good but not as smooth. I really miss that app
Sorry off topic, Did you have to flash CM7 with RSD or what? If so could you provide a link to SBF file, kinda new to all this, thanks

It won't install, I tried. And moving it to the system\app and changing the permission won't work as well.
If you want to try, download a 2.2 nandroid backup and extract with unyaffs.

FMRadio.apk

http://www.mediafire.com/?tsboc9udcqwopnn
This is FMRadio.apk from Defy Eclair, modded to be working on Defy
CM7, modded to be working without headphones.
I am only mirroring.
Works with Photon!
I tried on 2.3.5 Electrify. You can try on other roms.
Again, just download, copy with Root explorer into /system/app, set permissions, reboot.
Just tried on CM9 and i get it stuck saying "FM Radio is being launched please wait" And it never boots, if i touch screen it will open app but wont play anything, ive tried over wifi/3g and reboot several times. Any ideas as to why it isn't working? And what are you running for a ROM? Thanks
As I wrote, I tried on 2.3.5 electrify rom.
I don´t know, if there are in CM9 all FM libraries and FMRadioservice.apk.
Withou these it wouldn´t work, if it could on ICS.
But on CM7, with these libs and FMservice apk, it should be working.
I've tried this on cm7. I also get the fm radio is being launched. Please wait. What are the permission supposed to be set to? Thanks

If it launches, permissions are alright, but I looked in cm7 zip and you need to take /system/lib/libfmradio.so and /system/app/fmradioservice.apk from stock rom, set permissions, restart. And try again.
Ive added the two files from the stock sbf and I still am getting the fm radio is being launched. Please wait. I set the permissions and everything but no go. Any idea
Spirit FM works well for me on CM7, saw it in another thread. You just need to change the method to "motorola" instead of CM in settings.
sprint fm worked just fine.
Ok. So no radio on cm7 with this. But stock is alright.

U can use file explorer with system acces (es file explorer is what I use). App is in system/app folder and it's easy to extract it and push in your ROMs system. I'm not sure if it will work though
Hi again,
I just tried the option with flashing the old htc fm radio app into the system/app folder. From what I've seen it doesn't work.
I extracted the apk from a previous backup with the stock 4.0.3 rom. I didn't find any additional libs or anything but after rebooting the app didn't show up.
Also on a AOSP Rom as CM10.2 it is not very likely to get a HTC/Sense app running. Therefore I looked around and found another option: thr Spirit FM app
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1059296
But here as well I wasn't lucky and didn't get any positive results...
If anybody has better luck or experience with the Spirit FM let me know, I'd be happy to have a simple FM radio back
