help please - AT&T LG Optimus G

Got an optimus g off CL. The guy didnt tell me he converted it to mako (thats what it says on fastboot screen) I am trying to get it into recovery mode after I flashed a non mako rom on it. It won't work. So I figured I would lgnpst it. That wont recognize the phone. I'm on windows 8. Is there a special way I have to enter recovery now that it was converted to mako?

Install Proper Drivers And Try To Boot In Download Mode And Usr LGNPST To Flash Stock .tot File.
Teenybins Are Excellent To Recover From A Softbrick,But If You Are Using A N4 Converted G Then You Will Have To Restock First.

If your boot loader is unlocked it will say mako, doesn't have to be converted to say that. Which splash screen did it have when it first boots? If it shows LG for a second or so it is not converted. You may just not have updated rpm/tz partitions needed for 4.2 ROMs. Also lgnpst won't work with USB 3.0 for some reason, and your phone needs to be in download mode for lgnpst to work.

Thanks for the fast reply guys. It was on a usb 3. Got back into cwm and restored it. Will attempt to flash the ota firmware but LGNPST can find the .dll file. I have no idea where it is.

If you use tSilenzio's automated lgnpst it registers DLL for you, it will say ls970 but it works fine for e970, click on the little folder icon in lgnpst.
Edit...is your phone converted?

No it is def not converted. Thanks again guys!

If you are certain it is not converted then you can use teenybin file with lgnpst. It updates your partition and installs twrp. You would just need to flash your rom afterwards and be done.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2230994

Not sure what would cause that error. Automated lgnpst wasn't out when I installed it on my laptop, and teenybin wasn't out when I updated to 20j. I always selected dll first then bin. You may want to ask for help in the irc channel http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=lg-optimus-g

got the dll but now it's giving me some error. something about version number 501 or 503...I'll get back on it tomorow.

[Q] How to flash FLS (BASEBAND) Files?

Now we have Unlocked L9 (P760 and P765), is there any method we can flash only Baseband? SmartFlash Tool is not working because it does not recognize phone while flashing. It seems model.dll file only recognizes P990 (O2x) and not P760 or P765.
I tried replacing the DLL file with P765.dll found while extracting KDZ but its not working.
I am told long time back that Fastboot can flash Baseband separately but I dont know the syntax to flash Baseband FLS files of LG.
Can anyone pay attention to this problem. If anyone here knows more about fastboot, then it will be possible to flash baseband and also the ROM image.
Anyone?

You need to flash kdz to change baseband. Use LG tool or offline flash method. Install ROM don't change your baseband and for what I know, you cannot flash baseband with fastboot because you cannot find radio file for your phone (.fls don't work with fastboot).

I don't know why there're 4 files in radio update but kdz extractor got only one file. In some P769 thread said that they get baseband file from OTA temporary folder. I'm not sure. This is that thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2251622&page=3

Well not really... I used that tool sooo many times already for my old Optimus Black, that I didnt need that guide. Try different versions of SFT (the one for the OB, the one for the 3D and I think I got another one made by xonar_, but I need to look for it...) and it should work with no problem. But just flash the fls file. I also dont remember in which box I put it, since it shouldnt make any difference. Just go ahead and try it

Anyway I made this radio updating zip for P760. I didn't test it yet because I don't have a windows xp pc at the moment to flash factory image if something goes wrong. Maybe it works.

I finally managed to update my p760 baseband using SFT.
Thing is procedure went fine, it showed download complete and my phone rebooted but baseband version didn't change. I'm on v20h (installed through flashable zip) and it shows me 01.1230.0 same as before although I extracted baseband files from v20h kdz. Besides procedure didn't wipe the phone as I think it should.
Any clue?

SFT doesnt wipe your phone. So it all should be fine. Which version of SFT did you use? A link maybe? Try to flash an ICS baseband and check if anything changes.

@Nathan.7118391 Then why do you write over again, that you tried to flash CP and AP files? I explicitly said a few times only flash the .fls nothing else. I followed your thread. I am not really sure, if it really flashes the complete baseband. xonar_ once had a closer look at the process and it seemed to be rather complicated. that's why I doubt, that it flashes the same, as a kdz flashes. That's it for now, I ll not respond to posts here anymore...

[Q] Need help to Unbrick.

Hello guys,
I am new to android and xda. Recently I got unlocked At&t Optimus G E970. I rooted the device and then froze all the At&t bloatware and also some google apps. After restarting the phone it is showing 'Security Error' on boot screen. So I was searching for a fix on it and found this,

I can get the phone in download mode but how to download the KDZ file? I am using the software in the above thread for downloading the KDZ but its not working. Please help!!

You need to use a program called LGNPST to recover. Go to this link and study the section in "additional info" about LGNPST. In your case the teenybin files would only be helpful if you wish to flash a custom ROM , but the same process can be used with files for stock firmware.

I ran into the same issue, I fixed it by flashing the original image via fastboot (I flashed all the partition images):

You can also try using the tot file and the flashtool if you have access to a windows (which I don't, hence the fastboot approach).

[Help!!] How to Unbrick Metro PCs LG K7 LGMS330!!

Alright so I recently got the lg k7 from metro pcs and decided to root it. I rooted it using kingroot and then used supersu me so that I could install supersu instead of the one used for kingroot. It worked and then asked me to reboot my phone but when it started up again, it just stayed frozen on the metro pcs logo! I removed the battery and went into recovery mode, (by clicking the down volume+power button) but when it starts up again, it still stays stuck on the metro logo. Im assuming it is stuck on a bootloop? I also believe it is soft brick because i can still access the download mode, although it did take a while as i had to find the dang drivers b/c my computer would not recognize it.
I tried using the LG Mobile Support Tool to try to unbrick it, but it says that it already has the latest firmware installed! I cant do an update recovery either!
Sadly the 7 day exchange and return has ended and I cannot replace it, so is there any other way that anyone knows to unbrick the phone?
Thanks
Did you ever figure this out? I had my k7 goto a secure boot error 9 and cant figure it out.

The only way to fix our LG devices...including @Goongydin device
1. downloada kdz firmware file for our respective model & carrier
2. download lg flashtool & another tool on a windows PC
3. put the device in download mode
4. reflash the firmware(Stock)
check out my tutorial here if the firmware file for the LG K7 is ever released...http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/how-to-universally-manually-update-lg-t3280735
HOWEVER the LG K7 firmware file has NOT been released yet & LG wont release if ask...I asked once & they told me they do NOT make it & then I ask another time(different lg representative) She said that file is proprietary & so it can NOT be released to anyone outside of LG...
so I have multiple responses that conflicts with one another especially when the first conversation was with an LG developer...who ACTUALLY makes those files apparently, but inclined that he does NOT.

Tried with an older computer 32bit with usb 2.0 and it did the same thing. Toolkit said "VSB98546A is not supported," also tried the toolkit to instal twrp and it gave the same warning. LG flash tool fails because of model check. When you scroll up next to model is blank.
I also tried flashing a kdz using lg flash tool 2014 and it was jsut question marks. The status bar would go across on screen then nothing. Nothing ever changed on phone.
First things first. With the phone in download mode and connected to the PC via USB, when you look in Windows' Device Manager, do you see the phone listed in the Modem section?

The only KDZs you can flash from stock 46A are 35B or 47A. If you want to get to where you can easily root and install TWRP, you'll have to flash the 10B TOT using the .DLL that's extracted from the 35B KDZ, then root using the Stump app and use TWRP Manager from the Play Store to flash TWRP. Then you can flash whatever bootstack and ROM you want.
You can get the 10B TOT and 35B .DLL from my Android File Host link at the bottom of @annoyingduck's stickied return to stock thread in the General section. You'll have to Google for the software to flash TOTs.

You can get the 10B TOT and 35B .DLL from my Android File Host link at the bottom of @annoyingduck's stickied return to stock thread in the General section. You'll have to Google for the software to flash TOTs.

Thanks. I tried that too and got "model information check fail." I used these files:
LGVS985_20140620_LGFLASHv160.dll Is this the right dll file?
VS98510B_03.tot
I did more reading and it seems not using an LG cable can cause this. I tried with many brands but don't have an LG cable. If those are the correct files I guess my next step is to order an LG cable.

I can't tell by the filename alone if it's the right file. You can compare to what I have on Android File Host (link in the thread I mentioned).
The TOT file is likely correct. Yes, I always recommend using the original USB cable for flashing. Hopefully that's your solution.
Thanks so much for your help. Looks like I was using the wrong dll file. I used the one in this post below and it worked right away.

I had the same problem and was able to flash an old rom using the LG flashtool, here is a guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2772199
But I had to use this dll file:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63266194&postcount=84
After my phone reset during the flash it displayed 2 on the screen and did not pass. Just go into your PC's device manager and recheck the com port and change it back to 41. Mine changed as the phone reset during the flash process. Once I changed it back to 41 the flash resumed and the displayed 3 on the phone and the computer said pass.
MY Problem Has Been Recoverd By Flashing 35B KDZ using LG FLASH TOOL 2014. Easy and not need of any DLL file. Now i am on 47A using KDZ.
Thanks everyone
