But i want to know one thing if i flash through odin is binary flash count increase or not becoz i dont waana void my warrenty??
I see at the officail center people also usse odin for flashing..
Please let me know this ??
Flashing stock rom using odin does'nt increase counter.
Be sure you have i9100 not the G one.
On personal note you better off flashing dxlp9. Found it much better than lpq/lp7
buddy if i root my cell than make a backup of efs folder than flash this ics rom. I think rooting will increase my binary count na??

YES as per the faqs .

If you are on 2.3.5, you can use super one click and zergrush to root with out counter going up.
Also mind you even if you are on counter, flashing ics will allow triangle away to do its trick.

queries about rooting

can triangle away be installed after cf root 6.4 on GT-I9300?
i read somewhere that triangle away requires some kernels etc? if so how can i find out if my device has the stuff or not?
and my build number is XXBLFB can i restore to stock firmware so my warranty is not void?

Depending on your country the warranty is not void anyway. It's just far easier to get it replaced with original firmware since
there are no questions asked.

In addition too these steps a factory reset will be required in order to remove the "modified" status from the "about phone" menu option.

ok i've gone through the threads and it stated that triangle away won't work on custom roms so the only way is i have to reflash back to stocks firmware
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494114
- On my SGS3/Note2/etc, Download Mode says my System is modified, and Triangle Away does not reset it
Triangle Away attempt to reset this status and block it from coming back, but it depends on the firmware. It does work on some (not all) stock firmwares. Resetting this value doesn't work on custom firmwares!
- On the SGS3/Note2/etc, System->Settings->About device->Status still shows "Modified"
This is outside the scope of Triangle Away. The "system" status is not even always resettable in the bootloader. If you are going for warranty, you need to also reflash a full stock firmware and wipe your device. If they boot up your device and find root apps, you're not going to get any warranty anyway. If you do such a full stock reflash and wipe, the "Modified" value will go away.

Hah.. thanks the above thread is very useful and i just flash back to the original firmware and it works everything works fine now.
So if i flash custom rom i don't have to take note on the counter 1st, just if the phone needs to be sent back to samsung then i'll just flash ORI firmware and proceed triangle away.

[Q] Triangle away doesnt work

I want to unroot my device, and needed to set my count to 0 with this program.
The problem is when i run it, and it reboots, i press volume up and stuff, but it doesnt change my flash count.
I have a rooted galaxy S III i9300 on stock 4.1.1, and my kernel is 3.0.31-3684283 [email protected] #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Oct 19 18:17:48 KST 2012
I read that i should flash syah kernel for triangle away to work, is this the way to go?
TA does work so i suggest flash stock rom via Odin .
Run TA then factory reset .
jje
Is your flash counter showing '1' after reset or different number? If '1' that's mean it worked just sometimes if you have flashed custom recovery counter won't go to '0'. If that's the problem, try to restore stock recovery and them use Triangle Away.
By the way, did you try to change ROM to older one? Any difference?

My current rom is stock, so will that make any difference? If so, I already downloaded the stock 4.1.1 rom, should i flash that one?
Thanks for your help!

My flash counter shows 1 after reset, yes. So you say I should restore stock recovery first?
I didnt change anything about the rom, i just rooted my phone.
Thanks for your help!
All depend what did you use to root it, sometimes it comes with custom recovery. In my case even with stock rom and kernel I had counter '1' after reset because I had custom recovery. Flashed back the stock recovery and triangle away works like a charm - counter 0.
After all, just to make sure, I've used Kies to reflash it with the latest software to remove root and other rubbish of my phone

I have cwm recovery, how can i flash back stock recovery??
Use SGS3 Toolkit (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1703488). Make sure that your kies is switched off and follow the instructions (Your Model will be under number 7. and then you need to go to number 6 (ReFlash stock recovery via Odin).
Good luck!

in addition to having an updated version of Triangle Away, you must have a kernel that supports
I figured it out! Thanks for all your help!
In order for Triangle away to work your phone has to be stocked and rooted
Triangle away is meant to reset your binary flash counter and not unroot your device .

TriangleAway works but with only official recovery and official kernel.
If you're running a custom ROM, a custom kernel, a custom recovery, CWM, TWRP, etc, this will cause the counter to auto-reset to 1.

[Q] Supernexus 2.0 milestone 1 on I9300 internation

I've flashed this great mod by TRWP (wipe/factory reset before) on stock 4.2.1 EMC2 ROM
all work fine, great ! and many thanks to the developer
now the issue is that i'd like to reset my counter and I try to use Triangle Away last release
The program see correctly the staus and seems to be able to reset the counter but even if it told me that the reset was done correctly, it does not.
Any suggest ?
Suggest you read the faqs and guides .
It requires stock rom to reset is the basic answer .
TWRP what mod ???

TRWP is the cutom recovery used to flash SUPERNEXUS 2.0 ROM
so you are telling me that triangle away works only on rooted stock rom ?

As opposed to >>>>>>>>>>>I've flashed this great mod by TRWP
Leaves the impression that it was some mod by TWRP rather than a custom rom .

yes I've seen these two discussion but it seems not so clear and simple as you told
I've understood that it depends on kernel type if triangle away works or not, not if the ROM is original or not.
My question is simply related to SUPERNEXUS users and I cannot post in specific thread cause my few posts (less than 10)
anyway, many thank for your help
