This has been discussed over and over again. But still I doubt it. Here are my reasons to believe there might not be a MM for Alpha, (yeah I learned to be un-optimistic. LOL.)
1. A few number of Alpha was sold (Respective to other models on that list), so obviously Samsung might not be interested in small market.
2. Look at those models, at some point most of them received 5.1+ updates, Alpha is stuck at 5.0.2
3. Notice that G900F had MM approved ETA a month later than G850F as per 'leaked' sources, yet, G900F had MM way earlier, but Alpha doesn't.
4. The phones that have received MM, surprisingly in gsmarena, it's noted that "upgradable to 6.0.1", even Galaxy A5 (Released 2014, December) has "planned upgrade to 7 nougat" written. (Link: http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_a5-6761.php)
Somehow, they have been right all along. In Alpha's page? it's 5.0.2
5. this website, which, as far as i remember, first broke the news about potential marshmallow update of galaxy alpha, has updated the article. And there is no mention of Galaxy Alpha this time
6. From this website "There's still no word from Samsung on whether the Galaxy S4 and the Samsung Galaxy Alpha will get the update."
Against all those odds, if Marshmallow hits Alpha, I guess we will be happy to at least have an official MM. At this point, logical reasoning is against hope. But, let's hope anyway.
Right now Samsung is dealing with way bigger things than the marshmallow update for the Galaxy Alpha and it's no surprise it hasn't been released yet, yes they are late.. too late but I'm 99.99% sure sooner or later they will realease a 6.0.1 firmware for our device. Just be patient.
Yes, I believe that the update will come Feb. 24, 2025. It is not so long, You have to be patient
I see no reason to be optimistic here

It look like we might get 4.2.1 for the note. i know it not the I717 but if they get the update to it i think we will too.
"Just because use the Samsung GALAXY Note II just about out specs the original in every way doesn't mean that no one loves the poor Samsung GALAXY Note. In fact, Android 4.2.1 has leaked for the 5 incher and software version N7000XXLSA happens to be the first Jelly Bean update ever leaked for the device. So far, Samsung hasn't included much S-Pen functionality with the Jelly Bean source code, something that is sure to be addressed before the software update becomes official.
It should be noted that unlike the N7000XXLSA leak revealed by Xda, which came from a dump of a person's device, a source for SamMobile says that the version of the update that we are discussing came right from Samsung's servers. All you need to do is flash the update with Odin and you're updated. Again, the issue with the S-Pen would concern us a little and you might want to wait for the official OTA update which is supposed to arrive late this year or early next year.
Among the cool changes included with the update are Project Butter (or is it "I can't believe it's not Project Butter?"), Multiwindows, customized notification panel, Pop-up Play, Smart Rotation and Google Now."

That was a TypeO they meant 4.1.2 and also only for N7000 not I717
Just wondering when the OTA will be available....and I will need to find info on how to keep root.
I'm currently running 4.4.2 stock, rooted, etc....
I dont think a release date has been confirmed as of yet, also wouldnt recommend updating.
Not sure but there has been a buzz over a possible 4.4.3 release in Q4 to a handful of Samsung devices.

This from an article....notice the last line about the S4 from T-Mobile...
"When it comes to Android updates for Samsung devices, we typically see Korea and the United States take the lead. So when we see devices updated in these two locations, customers across the world can expect their devices to be updated too. When those other countries will receive their update is usually a mystery, but at least they know it will eventually come. Lately, we’ve seen Verizon push two Android updates to their Galaxy S5 customers, we’ve seen both T-Mobile and Sprint push out the 4.4 KitKat update to their Galaxy Note 3 customers, and we’ve seen T-Mobile push out the 4.4.4 KitKat update to their Galaxy S4 customers.

We have XDA members on here who are a part or close to Verizon's development team. You almost always see reports when OTA's initially go into testing. I wouldn't hold my breath until you see those reports start to pop-up.
This has been just posted on the ZTE german facebook page
https://www.facebook.com/ZTE.Mobile...653955563783/1533003793395455/?type=3&theater
so it seems that for us A2017G users its confirmed it will come pretty soon, dont know for A2017U users though.
I'm pretty sure that Android N for us US users is coming either late November or early December as in the last update post (for B29) the community mod said that the update comes just under 1 and a half months after the previous and that they are "in parallel paths to release Android N" which I interpret as in the same time frame as this update
So apparently Nougat is in beta testing on the ZE552KL right now.
Here is the Zentalk link

Just figured I'd drop the info here. Hopefully the ZE570KL isn't far off either. I would rather just get 7.1 right off the bat on my Special Edition, but I wouldn't complain about 7.0 first. Anyone considering of joining or already in the beta program for their device?
And so is nougat for other devices. Guess what, some phones came with 7.0 preinstalled!
Seriously, please stay on topic, i.e. zs570kl

I saw that, but my excitement was tempered by the fact that the beta tester program is strictly for the ZE552KL not our Deluxe phones. Asus has yet to even provide the official unlock for the Deluxe while the ZE552KL already has it. This makes me wary including the news that the Deluxe user base will be smaller now since Asus recently chose not to make it officially available in Canada.
At this point, I'd rather have an official unlock to root our phones than Nougat to be honest.

I stated that it was for ZE552KL. Since it is in the same launch family as the ZE570KL, I see that as a related topic. Especially considering that Asus has already benchmarked the ZS570KL running Nougat. I doubt that the nougat release for our phone will need to go thru beta, but that is admittedly just speculation on my part.

Yeah, it sucks that is the only news that is barely even related to our device, and I did state that it was only for the ZE552KL, btw. The negative I see is that the beta program is supposed to run until January 31st, but that hardly means that a release can't come out before hand. Bootloader unlock would be nice but I would personally prefer Nougat first. Obviously I understand why you would prefer Root first though. Maybe we will get a Christmas surprise from Asus on both fronts, though I'm not going to hold my breath.

Anyone heard any rumors as to when our T-Mobile Note8's will be getting the Oreo update? I've looked online and have yet to find any predictions.
I hear the oreo beta program will start next month for the s8 which I'm a little upset about. I feel that the now the note 8 is the flagship device, Oreo beta should be on the note 8. The official release will probably be late January/early February if we're lucky
I don't care when it comes! I'm enjoying this phone as is.
I'd rather wait and have most bugs fixed, than rush the update and have some important functions not work any more and then wait on another update to fix the first one. Anything in particular In Oreo. that you're waiting for, or is it just newer must be better. Is it safe to assume they will patch current root exploit, because that maybe a reason for some to actually not update at all.
