I have a Qtek device.
When looking at screen shots online, I see the phone application having 3 bottons on the top left side of the screen, right above the dialer pad. On my device, there is nothing, just the dialer pad. How can I get those buttons? from the screen shots, they look simply like the phone log being displayed inside the dialing pad applicaton and the buttons are simply the missed/received/dialed icon, but on my device, I can only see that in full screen mode?
And, of course, the main question, how to enable speaker phone mode?
Thank you!
Press and hold the green button when in a call. Toggles it on and off.

And I say more that if you turn off the phone and before that happens you press and hold the green button you will adjust the speakerphone in default mode so during outgoing and incoming calls your phone will be always in speakerphone mode.
Just a soft reset to disabled the default mode or press and hold the green button to disabled during a call.
Sorry for my english...
Hi.
Francesco
Has anybody got any experience with toggling the speaker phone programmatically?
I put up the same post on the MSDN pocketpc.developer news group, and received a reply that it's a feature of the manufacturer, and if they haven't published the API, I will not be able to do it.
But that was before I found this site! Does anybody know if this is possible?
Thanks in advance, Ben Clewett
If the speaker jack is screwed where it thinks that there is a speaker (external mic) attached it will do no good.
-
Even if you push the GREEN TALK since the system thinks you have a
Mic attached .....
you need to bypass or jump it or bend the pins as said before back...
Good Luck
1) If speakerphone on - disable with PUSH GREEN PHONE WHEN IN CALL
yes that works unless
2) system thinks speaker (external) is attached
so... you will hear from speaker and can use an hands free till fix
hope this helps
Is there anyway to prevent the screen going into lock mode when either making a call or receiving a call as this is very annoying when using the sat nav and then a call comes in and then locks the screen and turns it off whilst I am answering it. This of course then shuts off the sat nav ??
Any help appreciated.
Me too! Toshiba must think we are too inept to press the power button.....
I can remember when I got a call and answered on my bluetooth headset whilst trying to navigate
Come on people, there must be somebody that knows how to switch this off, hard to believe that more people dont suffer with this.
It has to be in the registry somewhere, I have had a look and found the settings but I will mess around with it tommorow and hopefully find the fix!

Try this (taken from modaco, it worked on mine)
You can't mute the shutter sound , It sounds loud even in silent mode!!! Thats very indiscreet....
I've found two solutions:
1) (Obvious) To edit the file sonority.wav on \Windows
Or to modify the register
HKLM\System\Pictures\Camera\GeneralSetting\ShutterSound
Replace Current (0) for 2 This number links to a file Thunder.Wav that doesn't exist
Oooh the camera one works! I tried changing the volume key to 0 but that didn't work!
I did what you said with the Thunder.Wav and it worked brilliantly! Thank you!
Now screen lock, Press the power button before the annoying screen comes on. Does that stop it from locking?
If it doesn't, try this, when the screen pops up informing the screen is about to be locked, press the power button (basically beat it from turning it off) and press the power button to turn it back on. It seems to work some of the times on mine

Not working for me, the lock message just pops back up again..
incidently the Reg should work as well on the camera issue as thats what I done to get mine working, although as long as it has worked thats all that matters.
Anyone else assist with this issue ?

i think this just delays the lock screen by 22 secs or so... & that the lock screen returns every 22 sec interval thoughout the call...
did you ever find the reg setting for this? do you mind sharing whre you were looking inb the reg for the setting?
on htc i think it's mklm\drivers\builtin\ril\EnableFastDormantDisplayDuringCall
but tg01 does not have this....
cheers
I have tried looking in the registry and I havent been able to find anything!
There must be a way to stop it locking..... and the setting must be in the registry if it only locks after 22 seconds after pressing the power button!
It is very annoying, I just hope the new 6.5.3 rom when it gets released will not have this so called feature.
What were they thinking...

PLEASE HELP!
I always have a problem with my phone X10i when i make some calls.
The problem is I pressed mute, speaker, END or on hold button (some of them) by accident (Pressed by my ear).
I checked my phone sensor already and it works fine. May be it happened from the way I held my phone.
But I just want to know how to get a rid of all those buttons from the screen during a call.
Is there anyway I can use some apps to hide all these buttons?
I believe that phone screen is built in the Rom. Thats probably modifying the Roms phone screen. You could probably do it if u know how to modify roms. I dont. I just mod phones with new firmware from xda.
Sent from XDA Premium from my X10a rooted running 2.2 rendeiro2005 cyanogen rom 6.1.3 gingerbread v1
Use to happen to me frequently,I enabled the proximity sensor and use left hand mode now. That solved it for me
U can use shakeawake tool. It works pretty fine. It has a cheek guard feature which detects when your face is touching the screen
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
will try that with the left hand mode, sounds promising ^^
i hate it, one cannot have a call for more than 5minutes without pressing sthg. -.-
and most annoying my ear LOVES the End button ^^

Same here. I do put the calls on hold very often. :-(
I do this on my G2X all the time. My proximity sensor seems to be working properly. I just went to Settings > Call settings > Always Use Proximity and checked it. Apparently orientation always trumps proximity so we will see if this fixes my issue.
Problem SOlved
ON my HTC One I downloaded Call Screen Lock and I have enabled long press to unlock feature, I also enabled HTC One feature Power button ends call,
I often wonder how is HTC surviving without a law suit from someone with a ear damage. I had soo many times speaker suddenly shouting in my ear. Almost did hit the phone with anger onto the wall.
is there any app that disable the Mute hardkey shortcut (vol up + power) on Android? I accidentally hit it all the time when using volume buttons eg. screenshot

Probably you have a case or somehow are pressing the volume all the way down.
Remember either lowering the volume or power button plus silent mode are the quick shortcuts to enable Vibration mode.
Also when a call is received and the phone is upside down can make the ringing on mute.

In my case Timeriffic was automatically reinstalled from Google Play. the default setting was to set the phone to vibrate at 8PM Mon - Thu. All sorted now.

i had the same problem, you can activate or deactivate this option under settings/sound/automatic feedback
Hmm,
Can't seem to find that seting on my phone, so will have to hope that it was because of Timeriffic.

I know this is an old thread, but all of a sudden my phone seems to randomly switch sound on throughout the day, after i put it on vibrate. I wonder if there's a way to enable vibrate only via the notification bar, rather than the volume keys.
In my opinion the volume keys should only control the current volume, rather than the sound "profile" (mute, sound, vibrate).
Anyway i will be doing some looking into why this seems to happen.
1) you have a case which is pressing the Volume button down
2) Try turning off AUTO HAPTIC FEEDBACK
3) try resetting your phone if all else fails

i have same weird vibrating problems also. I normally set my phone to sound mode no vibrate. whenever someone text me it automatically change the mode to sound+vibrate I've been trying anything but to no avail this still persists.
and BTW I'm using GO SMS.
Even i have been facing this problem with various ROMs..what could be the issue? any help?
S3 auto turns to Vibrate mode
Hi,
For last 2 weeks, i am facing a same problem. randomly few times in a day, message default ring tone rang without any message and after a while (may be after few seconds) it turns to Vibrate.
the only thing new happened to my phone is, its board died all of a sudden (bgr[dot]com/2012/12/21/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-hardware-failure-262887/) and the Samsung service center has replaced it with new board. since then i am facing this problem.
I was using the Nova launcher before the repair, and now after the repair using the same Nova launcher.
Any idea? anyone else facing the same issue? btw, i have turned off the haptic feedback as well, restart the phone also, but issue still persists.
any feedback would be highly appreciated, thanks.

Guys, I am facing similar problem and nothing else is working. I think we should compare notes to find out what is the cause of this problem. Tell me what ROM are you running? Custom or Stock. If custom then which one? What 3rd Party apps are you running that can schedule tasks e.g Tasker, Scheduler etc. Have you turned off Haptic feedback and motion under your phone settings?
My Answers:
Custom ROM Yes
Ripper ROM (Love it and big fan)
Haptic Feedback Off
Motion Feature Disabled
3rd Party Apps Yes
Tasker Yes
Scheduler No
Call recording Yes
I have sam problem with NOTE 2.
Every last incoming call set my "default" sound profil .Depend what I have set ( sound, vibration, mute....) at the incoming call moment.
I found out that AVG antivirus is a problem???? I delete AVG and for now ( two days ) all is OK.
Maybe its the auto mute
There is a feature under motion that puts the phone in vibrate/silent when you "turn it down", maybe that is what is causing you problems? My phone was muting itself with no logical reason and deactivating it did the trick, hope it works for you
It is a weird problem. Not a killing one, but still it's absurd.
How would I know that my phone is sleeping (standby) or completely shut down (off)?
You may say, just press the power button on backside. But if I do that, that's going to turn on the phone anyway if it was off.
I want to know without turning the phone on whether the phone is actually off or not.
Any idea guys? Any way to find out?

When you press shortly on the power botton- if the phone is sleeping the screen will turn on to the lock screen, if the phone is off it will turn on to the red M initial screen.
That is a really weird question, why should you ask it? if you turned your phone off it is off, if you just turned the screen off it is asleep (shhhh, don't disturb him :silly: )
:cyclops:
I don't want to disturb him, that's what I want.

If the phone was sleeping, I would know as it will show lock screen when I press the power button. But if it was off and I press the power button, it will turn on the phone. And I don't want that. I just want to know whether the phone is off, and if it is off I don't want to disturb him.
In other phones, they have separate unlock button, here it is combined with power. That's the problem. But moto could have made long press for turn on and short press for unlock. I think there is no solution to my problem. :crying: Thanks anyways.

Call your number?
Plug in the headset and press the headset button?
Plug in the charger?
Pair it with wifi/bluetooth and see if connection is alive from paired device?
I'm sure there are hundreds of other creative ways to find out whether the phone is off or on standby without pressing the power button.

I know what you mean, like in the Nokia 700 (or any symbian phones), there are two seperate buttons, where the lock button does not switch on the phone, but instead the power button does. I know some Android devices need a long press to switch on, while a short press does nothing while off, but Motorola doesn't use this "feature".

If you use a CM based rom you can set the volume rocker to wake the phone. If you use a blur based rom you can install an app from the play that does the same.

Thanks!

2. powered on - unlocked (screen is on)
3. powered off.
