i stay reading your forum all week... i have one problem... i dont now why, because i change my MDA rom a lot of.. the last it has a O2 rom.. and works with gsm900... but the problems is in the type of the pocketpc... when has aleman version... it said that he is B (american) version...but no works with any gsm providers... i change with O2 rom... and now he said ...A version... i dont why .. because is diferent hardware... but works... only with gsm900... the problems came now... in one of this changing with with SD card the bootloader is erase.... im very bored.. i cant do it anything... in spain dont have providers to repair MDA pocket... i thing that is posible to record again bootloader with a cable or weld any flash memory... i have a litle experience whith my welder and smd chip.. but i can do it any thing...
in the foro the people finish very soon to modificate theirs pockets... noo you send to tecnic sevice... I CANT DO IT... I supose your understand a lot of.. in this device... here in spain the people... is very selfish and dont know much...

well.. greetings to everyone. My first contact with this fabulous source of knowledge was last year. İ ve bought a t mobile mda2 from Germany and the salesman told me that "the device includes english menus" . And i have no idea about their language. So i started to look for a solution in the net. Being a dentist in Turkey does not much help in technical subjects. Even though a man like(motto=they develop i use) me was able to convert the machine to an English ROM even with a newer add-ons. And nowadays i am using a ROM merged by sin 2003 SE and perfectly happy with it.
None of this devices are sold in Turkey so my friends who loved the PDA at the first sight had to look for it across the europe and internet.
Last week a very close friend of mine asked me if he buys xda2i from germany that i would somehow convert it to english . depending on the xda-developers site i said that it wont be a problem.
Thinking that alpine is only a himalaya with 1.3 camera i tried to update the machine with sinmerged 2003SE. And after that i recognised it as a fatal mistake. Now my friends XDAIIi cannat even boot. On its screen you can only see serial v1.01. and when you connect it to the computer you can only see usb 1.01 on a grey unlighted screen. I tried to install the english rom and ofcourse recieved a country id error which i could not solve. İ tried to find the original german ROm and i could not find it even in o2 official site.
So is this machine dead? please help me .
non of the htc devices can share roms
and alpine also have a different cpu, and wifi
they just look alike
Goto http://myxda.com and download the launch rom for the Xda2i. Then it will work.

No Mikee4fun it doesnt work like that. Because if i download that version of ROM and try to install it, the country code id error message stops the installation. Because my friend bought if from Germany. And O2 germany site does not hold a copy of the german ROM.
Thats why i need help. Because i tred every other and legal solutions.
İf any body knows how to pass the country id code error message please help me.
You need to use the the xda 2 nbftool located at the following to make the UK rom work with the O2 German XDA IIi unit. http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=xda2nbftool Read it and gooduck.
no rom editing for alpine
again thanx for the effort mikee4fun but these editors are only working with himalaya (MDA2-XDA2) ROMs. No one knows the password for the ALpine(XDA2i) ROMs.
So the kind of editing suggested by you can not be done.. Thats why i am asking for help!

Hi im new here and i have a qtek - Wizzard (WIZA100) and im wanna put on it wm6 and try diferents versions of it BUT...
atfer read some post i see my wizard if G4 cuz startup screen with tree "0" (000)
and looks like its pretty hard to unlock it... i already check some post of that..
I know i need to see if my wizzard if unlocked.
But how i can know that? how i know if it is unlocked or locked?

it is referred as WM5 which is the official rom of these devices b4 upgrading...
so u want the rom that ur device was installed with originally? cause I can't think of any reasoon 2 go backwards except warranty.
it is not switching on but i can get into bootloader so somebody else advised me to reinstall the official rom. so now do you have any ideas as to where i can get it from?
if u r certain that it is a hermes/tytn and is an htc device (dopod) I would be installing the official htc wm6 device.
but make sure u have the device right first. dunno wot yours looks like.
read the forum and rules for rom upgrades first in wiki before if u have never done it.
still never heard of the z rom so not sure if it was early or u r in the wrong forum.
do u have any specific details? did u buy it? find it? or steal it?
I wud upgrade n bugger the original rom.

I bought it from Japan but it doesn't work here in the uk. I left everything there which was stupid of me. But it is a Hermes. IT is a Herm 100 i dont know if that means anything. 'HERMES-T12' according to HTC themselves. so where can i get the rom from.

I did look around thats why i suggested that earlier in the thread. I did say it was under Hermes. I thought that i had to install a particular Rom from the carrier 'NTT DO CO MO'. SO where can i get any of these ROMs from.

this is the offical ROM for your DOCOMO HTC Z. There has not been a WM6 release for either of the Japanese Hermes.

Based on your responses and questions, and inability to navigate XDA site, you SHOULD NOT try flashing your ROM. You will end up bricking your device.

I TRIED MANY AND MANY AND MANY ROMS AND I READ ALL POSTS AND I TRIED HARD REST AND I DID EVERY THIN AND IT IS IN BOOT ,OADER AL THE TIME EVEN THE ROMS MAY PASS TILL THE END AND SAY CONGRATULATION AND ON PHONE 100% BUT AGIN WITH RESTART IT IS THE 3 COLOR SCREEN
I THINK I PUT G3 ON G4 DEVICE IS THERE ANY SOLUTION

hi am from k.s.a i had the same proplem but if you dawnload the orignal rom from i-mate web site ftp://ftp.clubimate.com/ it may work i did tray a lot of roms none of them workd exsept the one from the site.

Expert only?
Search this site and you will find the original ROMS that came with your phone. you will allways have to downgrade to restore it! I have had many HTC go wrong on me. I use an old trusty favourite Prophet_4.0.0.0.4_PV.zip Good luck!
Just Click on the first link, follow the steps and you can go.
Just go to bootloader,
DO HARD-SPL
Then flash again!
and u can drive away with your new OS on your old Prophet! xD

I just think, you need to try to install the original jamin rom again.

then it will be ok. and you can try to upgrade again

hello, my name is Dan ,and two days ago was the 1st time i ever got my hands on a pda. i got the wizard (qtek 9100) g4, and i liked it. A guy sold it to me so yeah .. it was in dutch (i think) and couldn`t understand anything. i found this forum (very usefull i must say) to find out that my g4 is cid locked. Of course, the forum was very helpfull again, now i managed to install an english version of SNN Diamond. It`s pretty awesome, but it doesn`t have the cube and the works. I`m sorry to be a noob and yes, i do know this question has been asked again , but all i want is an advice heh.
I love the SNN diamond , but i want the cube, and also an overclocking utility , cos my phone kinda hangs sometimes. Could you please paste me a link with an OS with cube and the works which would include such an overclocking utility ? Thanks, and i`m sorry for being a painfull noob. (the youtube clips of the wizard made me post this link )
