Powering XDA off - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

Hello all,
is there a way to power the XDA off. I keep my XDA home when I travel, I come back to find all data lost
Is there a way to just turn it off COMPLETELY without loosing data of course!

If you turn off the phone part and then power it off, it should use very little power. But the unit will consume just a little power updating clocks, checking for alarms en just keeping the RAM alive. I guess it depends on how long you leave it alone. If possible, the quick solution is to leave it plugged in, but that's probably not what you wanted to hear...

buy urself a battery extender or a the add on battery? :?:

power off
if you turn off your notifacations and put your screen power off for a few seconds this will help

also make sure you put your xda into flight mode before you press the power button cos the radio part of the phone uses loads of power

Battery Problems

I think my phone might be using batter power even when i turn it off! I dont use my phone much im using a stock rom. Ok ive realized lately that if i dont use my phone for like a day and its off I was at 60% battery power when i turned it off then when i went back the next day to turn it on the power button wouldnt turn it on i had to take the battery out and put it back in then press the power button and it came out with only 10% battery power im wondering in anyone else has had this problem? O and its usually in my backpack.
It probably got turned back on in your backpack
unless you put it in flight mode, the phone doesn't actually ever turn off, only the screen. Also in low signal situations the battery will run down much faster.
hope this helps.

Doesn't flight mode only turn off the radio? No, just as before the phone remains on, but at best in a low power state such as standby.
We can turn our phones off. If I hold the power button down I then get a window:
"Power will be turned off, and you may lose data if you have not saved them. Do you want to continue?"
After powered off, then next time I power it on the phone reboots.
I've got a HTC TyTN (hermes) and i get the same problem: my battery wears off in maximum 3 hours after i fully charge it. all the connections are turned off, except for the phone function. also, while it's charging, no matter if it's charging through the usb or the AC charger, the battery gets very hot. PLEASE can anyone help
(i have the black satin normal rom, with the 1.43.00.00 radio version installed)

This is a ppc6800 mogul not a 6700 moguls can actually turn off it still does it even if i take the battery out and put it back in.
Sounds like you weakened your battery. Question, do you constantly have your phone plugged into the charger? Same thing happened to me, I used to have my phone plugged in 90% of the day and I noticed that the times that I didn't have it plugged in, the battery life was drastically reduced. Overcharging can weaken a rechargeable battery.
I use to charge it every night then take it off every morning and sometimes since my sis stole my charger id use a motorala on my dad has its output is 5.0v and input is 100-240v is this the right voltage for my mogul? Now i almost never charge it cause its usually off. And im not sure if this has to do anything but my water damage stickers ARE NOT TRIPPED

[Q] TP cannot turn on without dock if powered off completely

TP cannot turn on without dock if powered off completely...
Happens when its shut off completely as in long press the power button. No matter how long I hold it to turn on it just refuses to turn on.
I plug it into the dock give the power button a tap and it turns on. Without the dock no matter what I try it just will not turn on.
Anyone have the same issue or is mine isolated and an exchange is in order?

I don't know if I'm having that same problem but my TP has a tendency to shut itself off if I have the keyboard attached and leave it sitting for a day or two. I have to push and hold the power button for it to come on. I haven't tried taking the keyboard off and hitting the power button.

Have you tried quickboot from the google play store it's free. That is what I use to shut down most of my Andriod devices.
Not sure this will help. Try a soft reset. With the tablet on insert a small wire in the hole near the SD card slot. Worth a shot at least.

Will it turn on into the bootloader? Not sure about the Prime but on my Aria you press the volumn down and power at the same time. There are options there that might help. Be careful and I'm sure the experts here will chime in wether this would help or not.

I tried this too...nothing happens too. No bootloader. However if I press the up button and power the backlight flash awhile then back in to the darkness. Wonder what that is for..
The weird thing is..I did not even explicitly turn off the prime...I always leave it in standby. It turns itself off after awhile of not in use. Anyone face that issue? And then I got to go running for a dock again because I cant turn it back on
Sounds to me like you ran the battery dead and placing it in the dock makes it think it still has battery. If the battery is completely run out it takes about 5-10% charge to get it to turn on. Seems pretty common among all my devices.

Nope...battery for both is full..plugging in just the power direct into the tablet won't work either..it has to be the dock..
How long have you held the power button? I find that if you hold the power button down for an extended period it will turn on.

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm on my 3rd Prime. The power button on the 2nd was different where you really had to search for it to turn it on. It worked but it was almost flush with the metal. This one's better but it seems like it's getting harder to turn on as the days go by. I find myself having to press a couple times to get it just right to turn it on.
I have heard several people complain about the power button but I think it was mostly that it was hard to find. You must have one that's not working too. My experience with RMA is give it 7 days once they get it and call every other day for an update. (They'll keep asking for 24-48 hours to get an answer) Keep notes because they are and one more thing, take pictures of how you packed it and the condition of your Prime. You never know when that might come in handy. Good luck.

Disabling screen-on/wake-up reaction to change in power status?

I've noticed that my rooted XT1527 2nd Gen MotoE will automatically "wake up"/turn it's screen on whenever it recognizes that it has been given a power source (or the power source has been taken away).
Basically, every time I plug in, or unplug the power cord, the phone's screen flicks on in recognition of the change in power status. I want to disable this and have the phone screen only turn on if I physically press the power button.
The reason I'm asking is because I am experimenting with charging my phones with solar panels. Things work great when it's very sunny out, but when it's cloudy, even though the phone stays plugged to the solar panel, the charging source flickers in and out with the clouds (which seems to be the equivalent of plugging and unplugging the phone from the commercial charger in rapid succession). When this happens, the phone's screen turns on in recognition of either gaining or losing the power source, and on cloudy or rainy days, this process happens so frequently that the phone screen essentially stays on all day and slowly drains itself of battery much more quickly than it would have if it didn't feel the need to turn on the screen every time the power source came back or went away.
Any suggestions for how to disable this "screen on to recognize change in power status" feature?
My phones are rooted and I've made some simple firmware modifications to them, but I'm definitely a n00b.
I won't go into the details, but I'm using the phones for scientific research, which is the reason for the solar panels. I want my phones to be able to stay on and collect data, but I don't want that screen waking up and flicking on every time there's a change in power status! I'd love to be able to get rid of this feature! Any ideas?

Help! Can I turn on my HTC One Max without using the power button?

My One max's power button isnt working and my phone died. is there anyway to get it to turn on? I had the bootloader unlocked, cyanogenmod 13 and root.
Backstory: A while back, my volume keys were acting up and my phone would constantly go to low volume like if i was pressing and holding down the volume down button. Next thing you know, the power button isnt responsive and I cant wake my phone. The only way to get it to wake up was by getting a phone call. Sure enough I failed to keep my phone's battery charged and the phone died. I charged it and the battery is at 100% but i cant seem to turn it on. any ideas? thanks, I truely appreciate it. I know im going to have to get a replacement flex cable, but I dont want to wait for shipping to get it turned back on.
From one Moe to another...
My One max has behaved exactly like you described this summer and the last summer. Happens every time I answer a phone call with sweat going down my ears, it gets downright humid here! Usually fixes itself after a few minutes in front of a fan in an airconditioned room. By the end of last summer, I had to get the button strip replaced. Hope I am more careful this summer in order to keep it all in order this time around.
Last summer when I realized the power button was on its way out, I used Sense Toolbox (an Xposed mod) to set my device to wake from volume buttons. Of course that doesn't help if the phone dies from low battery like in your case.
(Edit: I also have a custom setting, I think also applied by Sense Toolbox, that wakes the screen when plugging in the charge cable. But this, too, only works when the device is fully booted and running.)
Maybe someone else can help with an obscure key combination. I dunno, maybe something like holding down the volume down button while plugging the charge cable in?!? Cuz my device (s-off, rooted, twrp, lollipop stock) starts charging in power down state, and I can see the splashscreen transition into the TWRP screen briefly flashing several times as it eventually gets into the charging screen (big green battery with percentage on the screen).
Cheers from Pakistan and Eid Mubarak!

LG v60 reboot/shutdown randomly

HI,
I got a V60 and it shut down randomly and the only way to start it again was by connecting the charger to it. even though the battery is showing 100% once it started again
Can anyone help me to fix this issue?
Regards,
Ben
Is the battery good? Or has it slowly been degrading in capacity? Not enough power will cause shutdown and failure to boot.
Otherwise try in safe mode to rule out a 3rd party app causing it.
HI
Thanks for the repose,
how can i check the battery health, sorry for asking basic question as i am new to LG
secondly, how can i boot into safe mode. Power + vol down button combination is not working for me
Also, if the device powered off, i cannot able to power it on again by pressing power button. to start it again, i need to connect charger.
i am sure there is no issue with power button, as i can shutdown phone by using it(in normal running condition)
Thanks
You're welcome.
Is it fully charged?
You judge battery health by run time and somewhat by voltage. Any swelling is a battery failure.
Not sure how to get into safe mode on that model.
HI
Yes it is fully charged.
