HI,
I got a V60 and it shut down randomly and the only way to start it again was by connecting the charger to it. even though the battery is showing 100% once it started again
Can anyone help me to fix this issue?
Regards,
Ben
Is the battery good? Or has it slowly been degrading in capacity? Not enough power will cause shutdown and failure to boot.
Otherwise try in safe mode to rule out a 3rd party app causing it.
HI
Thanks for the repose,
how can i check the battery health, sorry for asking basic question as i am new to LG
secondly, how can i boot into safe mode. Power + vol down button combination is not working for me
Also, if the device powered off, i cannot able to power it on again by pressing power button. to start it again, i need to connect charger.
i am sure there is no issue with power button, as i can shutdown phone by using it(in normal running condition)
Thanks
You're welcome.
Is it fully charged?
You judge battery health by run time and somewhat by voltage. Any swelling is a battery failure.
Not sure how to get into safe mode on that model.
HI
Yes it is fully charged.

When the power button is pressed, the screen goes off and then turn back on.
I noticed that if I insert the USB charger and I press the power button, the screen goes off, and after taking out the USB charger, sleeping mode works ok for a while.
Some times, I have to try more times to insert the usb charger and press the power button to make it to work.
I noticed when the phone is working in this weird sleeping mode, the battery is discharged very quickly. (a well charged battery is discharged in less than an hour!)
Thanks for any help.

Backup your data and do a hard reset. If the problem persists, consider repair service. This sounds like a hardware issue.
next time check where you are posting, you posted in a Rom Develop section, you should have posted this in the general section.
Sorry, I will more careful next time.
thanks.

So i was out and about today and i got my S2 out my pocket to check the weather online and the browser froze. Nothing unfroze it not even the hardware buttons. I popped it back into my pocket and this evening i got my phone out the pocket to find it turned off, i assume the battery died.
However it will not turn on.
I've plugged it into the mains, nothing
Plugged it into the PC, nothing
Done a battery pull
It is getting warm when plugged in though which is weird, but the screen is blank as are the capacitive keys
I've not changed anything with it recently or altered anything recently?
True it was running ICS and was rooted
have you tried starting it up in recovery mode? (press and hold power button + volume down button)

sounds like a hardware malfunction to be honest - though I am not at all sure. other opinions?
fact that battery is warming up is probably just because it was charging.
is your warranty still valid?
and does anybody know whether the warranty is still valid even though the phone was rooted? in theory it isn`t but will they find out?
ps: was your phone (heavily) overclocked/undervolted?
try charging the battery separately and boot the phone.
well this happen to me also after upgrading to ics .
solution = remove your battery wait 10 seconds then add it agian and boot. this will fix your problem.
Did you find a solution for this problem?

So my current phone stopped working so i was going to switch back to my galaxy s2 that has been sitting unused for about 3 months. When i tried to charged it the device will not turn on. The phone heats up when it sits on the charger for sometime. Also if i hook it up to my computer without the battery and hold the power and up/down button i can get to the warning screen about custom os to put it into downloading mode but when I press up to continue the screen just goes black and nothing happen if i press down to restart nothing happens it just goes black and i can hold the power and up/down to get back to the warning screen. The phone was rooted with iscrewd a long time ago before i when to a different phone. I have a usb jig but i cant even get to the warning screen with the battery in. Any thoughts??
You don't say, but I assume the phone was working normally when it was put on the shelf? If you can put your hands on a good I777 battery that is at least partially charged or better yet fully charged, put that in the phone and see if it will boot.
Sitting for three months will completely drain the battery, and this phone is somewhat sensitive to that. At least I have seen quite a number of reports of full discharge of the battery giving the same symptoms of not charging and getting warm.
I don't know what would account for you not being able to go beyond the warning screen with the battery out, especially if the phone was working normally before. The correct button configuration is the volume down button only, when the battery is out. I think the other buttons don't intefere though. Might try with just the vol - being held down and see what happens.
I vaguely remember someone having a problem similar to this, and I think he fixed it by getting the phone into download mode, putting the battery in, and leaving it in download mode to charge the battery. I think after a while he was able to boot the phone and let it finish charging while the phone was on.
This happened to me before. I just bought a new battery on Amazon and it worked just fine.

After three months with my Note 2, I've started having battery drain issues. Thinking my battery may be bad, I bought a regular and an extended battery. My problem is that when I swap batteries, the device will not turn on unless I plug in the charging cord and the battery icon pops up. Is this normal? Is there a way to fix this? Thanks.

after the battery icon pops up, press and hold the power button again, then it should boot to Samsung logo.

I'm sorry that my question was not clear. I can get the device to boot, but only if I plug in the cord. I was hoping I could just swap batteries, press the power button, and have the device start. Having to plug the device in first is not possible if I'm away from a power source. Thanks for the quick reply.
I swap my battery every other day...this does not happen...I have never heard of this happening.. I use a samsung and a qcell battery..when ones almost dead..I shut down, install fresh one, power up and go.

You are pressing and holding the power button down until booting starts? You have to hold it 2 to 5 seconds when its completely powered down.

I've tried everything. Once I take the battery out, the device will not recognize that I put the battery back in unless I plug in the charger for one second. Once I plug in the charger, I see the red light flicker and then I can take the cord out and it will boot from the battery.
When I called Samsung yesterday they suggested a hard reset. I did that without any luck. I'm taking the phone back to Best Buy today. I've had the phone for 3 1/2 months and I have the protection plan.

One thing I didn't see you mention was you are turning the phone off before swapping the batteries. If you are pulling the battery without properly shutting down the phone, then it's possible that the power button itself it faulty. If you typically pull the battery without properly powering down the device, then power up the device the way you've had success and try shutting down the phone through the Android OS.

Nothing worked, so I unrooted and took the phone back to best buy on Friday. My "new" refurbished phone is at the store waiting for me to pick up. I was only rooted for the last month, but shortly after rooting my battery life was horrible -- and then I wasn't able to swap batteries and boot without plugging it in for a second. Now that I'm running the stock rom, my battery life is back to normal. I also just tried taking the battery out and it boots up fine. Now I'm wondering if I want to get the refurbished phone, and if I want to root again.
first thing I ever do when having problems is odin back to fresh stock! Keep your device and refuse the replacement. I would not hesitate to reroot at all as rooting should have absolutely no impact on battery life. most likely something got corrupted in the software or you had a rogue app wake locking your device.
just wondering if anyone has come across this problem before,
it rarely charges to 100%, sometimes 83%, 85%, 95% but hardly ever to 100%
after having the tablet on for any amount of time, when i turn it off, i have to press the power + volume up wait for 3 vibrations otherwise it will just keep powering on and off like it was in charge mode
i first thought it was something i installed, so i reinstalled CyanogenMOD 12.1 again, making sure to fastboot flash boot boot.img in hope to sort out the battery/charge problem
i am at a loss, even when powered off i lose charge while charging, i have tried various cables and chargers, when i turn it off i want it to turn off and not keep powering the screen as if i was pressing the power button while it is charging

I have this too. Think it's a hardware defect. I'm out of warranty too. Also running cm12.1. I tried to ftf stock. Had same issue.
