Hi,
Installed battery pack 2003, and it works very nicely, and stable. However, have found that the Phone window will not close. If i click on the X in the top left, the phone window switches between itself and the SPEED DIALS window several times. Have to manually select Desktop to get there.
Anyone know how to fix, know of a patch?
noone else has this problem?
it seems only pocket nav 2.71 can close the phone app.

BP can not close the phone app because its active.

hey guys, any clue why my mda vario II would keep minimizing full screen apps?
so far have seen it for my games as well as tomtom navigator, which is definitely no good. for games i keep goign back to the main menu or just going to the today screen - same goes with tomtom where it runs for 2 seconds and then is back to the today screen!
some diagnostic questions answered:

With games, yes. with tomtom-no, it just minimizes.

Nope. also have no running apps in the background - did a reset, started no other app and it still does it.

tried disabling connection / direct push etc, gotten rid of sbp plus and my theme.

i'm guessing this is a related issue - but my device does not turn off when its using battery source; it just remains on! its as though there's some activity taking place...
this is even though i've set the options to turn off ddevice if not used for 1 minute, turn off backlight if not used for 30 seconds. neither of these actually happen...
I noticed a weird, repeatable crash I'm getting today and I'm curious if anyone else is experiencing it:
Settings>Sounds and Notifications>Notifications tab
Settings as:
Event: Phone: Incoming Call
Ring type: Vibrate and ring
Ring tone: Ring-OldPhone2
When I test the settings, everything works fine, but when I hit OK to leave the page, the Event box goes blank, and it kicks me out to an error message that there's been a shell32.exe crash. (It keeps whatever settings I make, though.)
Whether I pick send or don't send, a new screen then comes up and thanks me for sending the error data. Then, it goes out to a splash screen that shows the phone as locked. I have to hit the lock button to get back to my Today screen.
I can repeat this pretty consistently on my Verizon TP.

No idea. I've had about 10 Windows Mobiles/Pocket PCs, and I've never had it happen before.

I confirm the bug, and its really bugging me! I have to turn off the device completely because some application won't work right.

i get this error with the TF3D at times and have to restart TF3D
I have had this happen a couple of times too, both times I was previewing ringtones.
I had that problem when I first got my phone I went crazy and used Adv Config to change nearly everything there was, shortly afterwards I got a shell32.exe error and a gwes.exe error. I finally did a hard reset and tweaked more carefully and since then haven't had any problems.

The main bugs I get with my Rose on Uk Orange is the soft key that interacts with the home screen.
Sometimes when I get a message or email it doesn't display on the home screen and when highighting the sms or email panel pressing "inbox" does nothing. Instead I have to hit start and go into messages that way.
A reboot solves this. But it does it a bit to often for it to be ok. Should I reboot my smartphone once every day like a PC?
Also the answer key occasionally plays up. Either it doesn't work when answering a call or when pressing "call" from the contacts list it just takes you straight to the number dial screen. Odd. A reboot does normally solve it but not always.
Can't find any hot fixes on the HTC site. Looks like there isn't a new ROM available for it as yet. What can I do!? I love the Rose but it annoys me a bit!

If I were you I'd make a back-up of the files on your device by syncing it with a PC and then hardreset it by going to: start - desktop tools (or something like that) - clear storage. Might be helpful.
I have a bell cdma touch pro which I use spb mobile 3 as my shell
now I have exchange setup at my dealership for emails and get litterly close to 100 everyday, yet no sounds when they arrive/pushed to my phone. I cannot for the life of me find anything in any of the settings in either windows or mobile shell to setup an alert or notification.
Can anyone help me?
start > settings > sounds & notifications > notifications tab > select your event & set the sound you prefer. GL
Already done that, still no sounds, only notification I get is the circular light at the bottom flashes

Same here.
When I got my 1st touch pro it worked for 3 days then stopeed. I though it was a defect of the phone so i did doa and the new one does the same. I checked in my exchange settings and their is no place for notification.
In my settings the light flashing option is greyed out and i set it to vibe, ring and show message on screen but it only flashes the light!!!!

Would this be the setting for "new mail" or "active sync begin sync or end sync" ?
Either way i have setup sounds for all of them

Guys... the problem is with the ROM... You need to update it... Bell offers an OTA. To activate it... go start, settings, today and put back BELLUI and remove TOUCHFLO (I know that sucks...but its temporary). Once you've done that soft reset the phone and wait a few seconds. There will be a white screen poping up saying "UPGRADE IN PROGRESS" this will automatically update all sounds notifications (for email and text messages) . Once the update is done you can remove BELLUI and put back the TouchFLO or SPB or whatever your using

Once you change to BellUI... let it sit for a minute... it will start by itself... if it doesnt, then turn off the device and turn it back on and wait about a minute. Make sure you have the factory Bell ROM installed... this doesnt work with custom ROM's

Had the same problem and i tried the TF3d and the regular wm setup because the HTC rep told me it was a known problem with the bell UI.
One day I decided to do the opposite and put back the Bell UI and after 5 to 10 minutes it prompt me for an update.
Tried the TF3d and i now get the soud and vibrate notification with my emails.

Ok first ever post, I seek answers !!!
My S2 has started doing some very odd things -
1st it started returning to the clock desktop screen when pressing the home button instead of returning to the proper home screen, now its randomly launching into the Voice talk app screen by itself ?? I have tried a full reset and removed all non standard apps and this hasnt solved the problem.
Battery Drain is full to 0 in about 3 hours with limited use and if I turn it off it actually turns itself back on by itself !
Any ideas, Im assuming its ****** !

mine starts the voice command by itself too. its irritating at times. Also i have noticed that my battery drains faster than usual. Not sure why its causing
mine has bee launching that damned voice talk thing, too. it normally happens when i preas the home button, and it drives me nuts hecause it even talks aloud when i expect the phone to be silent. (where's the freaking global mute??)
Well if you press the Home button twice then Voice Talk will start. To reduce battery drainage, go to settings, Un-check Use location and Wake Up command. And disable Car mode when not needed,
Sorry, I forgot to edit my post (was going to before i got distracted by other tasks), but I meant to take out the "when I press the home button" part since it was redundant. What I meant was that it happens when I press it just once. I understand that double press launches it, it's why it annoys so much when it launches with just one press.

u could try force closing in running apps inside settings/applications/running apps?? i get the same ocasionally and that method seems to work for me?

I have the same problem as you, my voice talk app is launching very often by it self for me 2. I tried to reset my phone to factory settings but didn't work, and my battery is only lasting for max 12hours+-, depends on my use.
Can se in the battery usage that my phone OS is using 96% battery and screen is using 2% an 2% for something else.(don't remember because im offshore and can't use mobile phone here) normaly the Android OS should use less more than 96%
This is very fustrating!! do annyone know what to do here?? probably root the phone an delete the Voice Talk App ??? or can there be some problem with the phone electronics that makes the phone act this strange??

Voice talk starting can't turn off solved!!!!!
Was driving me nuts but finally found how to turn off the annoying voice talk by F*****G VERLINGO. Go to Settings, Motion then turn off double tap it has worked for me thank F**K.
My question is... why did all our phones started having the same problem at the same time... I've turned off double tap and it seems to have worked for me too, but that is not a definitive solution, cause it was allways turned on and there were no prob before. My problem started about 3months after i upgraded my phone to ICS.

Was any solution found for this problem? My S2 is not only launching tap and speak, but playing music, putting itself in to car mode, re-booting itself. Battery draining extra quick and taking all day to re-charge. It's posessed.
