Cables for iPAQ, will they work for XDA? - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

I've just noticed the connector of the xda is exactly the same as the iPAQ 38xx (at least). So will they work with the XDA as well? (Serial? USB?)
Thanks.

No. The specific pins used for each function are different.

Yeah i had a Compaq 3800 and thought that it might work, trust me it didn't. I got another cable on EBay for 6 pounds.
PS - I'm an Australian in the UK about to move home, what network do you run your XDA on....

Right, I'm in Sydney, I bought an 64mb xda just about 2 weeks ago from ebay. I'm on vodafone. GSM and GPRS no problem. Work straight away (on pocketpc that is).

XDA use in motor vehicles

Please forgive me as I have never used this forum before!
I am hopefully going to upgrade to an XDA on May 12 2003 when my contract is renewable on O2 uk. At present I am using a nokia 8310.
I have several questions for the members of this forum...so here goes!
1), is the XDA equipped with GPRS, and if so so, , is it possible to get a program that incorporates a satellite navagation for use in a vehicle.
2) is there a car cradle available for the XDA
Many thanks for your help...and patients!
Yes its GPRS
Yes there is Navigation www.tomtom.com
Yes there are several car kits

xda camera

Is there one in the UK market? If so, whats the price? Anyone know?
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=32242&item=3337930700
but i asked for one in the uk
thats germany
Phone 02 and they said no way never will there be a add on camera for the xda and was told to buy the xda2 so maybe that link is fake?
In th link they say: "Bus (SPI / MMC / SDIO mode)"
So. i´m not sure it will work with the xda, because the xda supports only sd and not sdio...
I´m going to ask the seller about this....
Regards
Stefan
right well let me know what they say please

Not sure about the link but I know for sure that the camera is not fake,
because a friend of mine has/uses that exact camera.
Was that bought in the uk? where from? how much?
Then there's the ViewTake CM35c for the Pocket PC Phone (XDA)-- It's a color 640x480 camera that fits into the SD slot but does not require SDIO capabilites. It's made specifically for the XDA by Gabor Vision Corp., and it will be available soon, one Pocket PC Passion user discovered. Another said he has spoken with reps who said the device would be out in the fall for about $75. Read more at Pocket PC Thoughts and Pocket PC Passion.

i have purchased one for my xda. got it from ebay, uk seller sent from the usa, works well apart from the fact it doesnt lock into the sd card slot.

nigeria

hi there. i've got an xda 2 that is locked here in the uk, however, when i go hom to nigeria next week should it work over there no problems after i run the xda 2 unlock tool?
Thanks in advance
there is an unlock tool you should use
which is on this site (pasted below)
i think you will need your cradle and a pc/laptop... just follow the instructions and you should be fine.
or download the file and the instrutions and when you some free time in niger unlock it then.
trust me its really easy.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=UnlockWiz/Himalaya
yeah
yeah cheers mate i have all the cradle and stuff here and have got the unlock tool. i'm just worried that it wont work when i get to nigeria tho.
should it work no problems tho?
Don't worry. IT works. I'm in SFR (France) and my xda2 was locked on Orange. In fact, this is the first app I've installed on my xda2
same with me. VERY easy and the first experience for me with XDA-Developers in may this year (when i had the device for less than a week).
To test is really easy: Borrow the sim of someone else (who uses another operator!) for a few seconds and see if the device gets on the network
i know it should work , i'm just a bit paraniod guys. a friend of mine got an xda 2 that was from an insurance scam or something and it was unlocked it took other sims and could text and stuff but couldnt make calls in the uk, but he said as soon as he got it outside the uk it all worked perfectly?
i that normal, i thought once it was locked, that was it?
why did it work in germany asif nothing had happened?

My advice would be to not purchase it. Firstly, it creates a small bulge at the back which may crack the rear case in the long run. Secondly, for me, I could only switch from one sim to the other using their in built app only once. If I wanted to revert back to the other sim, I'd have to reboot. This reboot reason was the reason I returned the item. At first, I thought I had a faulty unit. But after ordering a replacement, the same issue forced me to refund the entire purchase.

Hey guys
I've had the adapter for a few days now, and it 'ssems' to work flawlessly. The changes are pretty quick, taking about 5-8 second from one sim to the other. My data sim, which is in the secondary position does take abnormally long to get a 3g/H+ signal, and will sometimes drop out. I do not believe it is the reception in my city.
Other than that it seems to perform as advertised.

Any of them on ebay will work, I have a iphone 5 version using it on my note 2, cost me USD 5, works without a problem, don't bother buying the magic sim, cost about 5 time the cost of the iphone version and does the same thing.

are you crazy paying £25 for magicsim. mine costed me a few quid and takes 3 sims and works fine been using it a while now. and no need for rebooting etc just works via the app. 3g data and text and calls work fine for all 3 sims. slight bulge nothing great and i am using it in my cheap s view imitation case with wireless charging insert.
havent had time to shoot a video. but might do if i get time. i bought my triple sim version after seeking kms108 advice on his dual sim phtos that i saw on the note2 thread
it does everything the magicsim does and much much cheaper and can take 3 sims unlike the magicsim that can only take 2sims!

yes been busy so hadnt got back to you. saw your post here so thought might as well reply here.
Yes got triple sim model, infact bought two of them as from now on all my phones will have these triple sim inserts. works fine for my requirements, calls, text and data all work fine and paid 6$ including delivery but it came with iphone covers which i dont need. wish they sold them cheaper without the iphone cases.
I find it much better using the adapters as samsung scrimped on the eject mechanism for sim cards which older samsung phones had but note 3 doesnt have it. so its a pain swapping out microsims, better using triple sim adapter and no need to open the back any more. have wireless charging insert with NFC plus the triple sim in my cheap s view (generic case) so got full works with multisim for under 20$

Doogee Pixels DG350 [MTK6582] - Network signal loss

Hi all,
This is my first post here on xda, so spare on me.. plz not really sure if this is the correct place to post this but i've searched this forums and i haven't found the help i need.
So, straight to point. i bought this phone and in the first two weeks all seemed to work fine.
Lately i've experienced lots of network signal loss. I've rooted the phone and used "Mobileuncle MTK Tools" to change the preferred network bands as according to this youtube video v=aQY7SdNrbmA (sorry, can't post direct links).
Well, after that nothing happened so i'm really upset with this china made smartphone.
Has anyone experienced this kind of problems using this phone/chip ?
Any advices before sending this to repair (other country) would be very appreciated..
Thanks in advance,
Hugo Pataco
Are you sure that you've got the correct frequencies for your country?

iCrap Samsung HTC and other brand phones are mostly produced in China. If you have 300-400-500 $ to spare to pay the bill for the advertisement go on no one will stop you. And the fact that the phone is expensive doesn't mean that you wont find issues.
hugopataco man it is just that you have pulled the short straw.

Define service if you please. If you refer to she software updates i woud like to say that DOOGEE (as a brand i am using) have posted and released their certificates and firmware ( http://www.doogee.cc/en/gb/xiazai.asp ). Also the company has released into that new update fixing major problems like slow camera button and slightly unresponsive touch screen (i actualy have no problems with these). Ou and of course they have managed to establish connection with the buyer which is great because their next products will be what the users want.

Hi,
Have you bought the phone in EU? If so, you have a two year warranty.. send it back.
If not, well i think you're screw'ed
Like D3lta said before, i think the problem lies on the antena cable. If you're experienced you can always replace it. If not, just get a hammer and smash it it's the destiny that craps deserves.
