phonExt not working for me - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

I am using ver 1.2. Unfortunately it is not working for me, it keep using the default ringtone. i have tried what is suggested so far http://www.xda-developers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1653 but no joy. Any experience with this program.
Thanx
XDA ROM:3.17 Radio:4.21

Same here....
I am running XDA-developers SER 1.1 and just cannot get PhonExt to ring my assigned tones. The XDA always just rings the usual default tone. PhonExt is in startup and the icon is at the bottom of the today screen. My .wav's are in \windows\rings and are about 70k in size (recorded from my trusty Nokia 6310).

Video Calling?!?!?

Hello everyone......
There I was, happy as larry - full of joy and praise for my Ameo now running mobile 6.....
Then I tried to make a video call (which I had been happily using on mobile 5 ) and errr......its gone!
I am using the WWE Moblie 6 ROM on 2.20.405.1
Radio 1.32.00.00
I have been on this ROM for AGES and didnt even notice...
Anyone got a remedy for my ignorance? Or should I be thinking about a new ROM?
Thanks
Search!
I did a search and found 1 other person asking this question....No replies....did I miss something?
I think there's a different phonepad (dialler skin) you can install which will bring the video call button back. I've seen it mentioned here somewhere.
Sorry to be so vague, but it least I can try to point you in the right direction.
edit - try here for an example - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=290281&highlight=no+video+call

Does this work for 128 and 96dpi mode,or only 192?
I have no idea, I haven't used it.
My dial pad already has the video call button, on PK's 2.0 ROM.

Pantaloonie, your dialpad that has video call button, is it a stock dialpad from PK 2.0 ROM or PK2.0 addons? Or is it a third party dialpad? I am using PK2.0 ROM and I dont think there is any video call button in PK 2.0 ROM.

Yarod
Me too
After WM6, I can still try to make video call by holding the pointer on a contact and selecting "Video call". This either makes a voice call or doesn't connect. Without any realVGA even.
Any thoughts anyone?

Yes, its the dial pad included in the ROM. Only addition is an all black colour theme, not sure if that would make any difference.
Attached so you can try it.
May be is my poor english understanding, but I believe that some problems here are related to the realVGA "disable phone skin" feature.
May be someone doesn't knows that PHONE SKIN means also VIDEO CALL BUTTON. If you disable it... no phone skin? no party! (There was a commercial in Italy and maybe in some other country, No Martini? No party!) I used vjay big phone too for VGA res.
If you can't dial a video call and is switched to voice call, just check you AND THE PERSON YOU'RE CALLING are in a 3G area, no 3G? No party!
videocall
I ve test in wm6 spanish, ando today with the latest black rom and the videocalling din't works.
When i o a videocall he change o normall calling... Whats the mater?
Sorry for my english too
To make things clear
The WM6 system comes with 2 shapes of the phone. One is the standard WM6 Phone app inbuild in the OS and provided by M$. This does not have video call button (hence you can not use video call feature) and has very ugly interface specially if we talk about smart dialing.
The second shape wich also comes with all versions of WM6 ROMs (including PK ROM) is the HTC (or some other flavour of) Phone Skin which adds video button (and feature) and provides much nicer shape for smart dialing.
Now, the problem is that HTC Phone skin is writen only for qvga/vga 192 dpi. If you would use it in 128 or 96 dpi, you would find that the smart dialing has bug. The field for number dialed ascapes above the top edge of the screen.
That is way Tobias has decided to provide in his Real VGA an option to disable HTC Phone skin. This option is set to on by default.
This means that all of you have phone skin (HTC version at least) in your Athena. The question is whether it is on or off.
If you do not have the video call button on your phone, you have to go to Real VGA setting and unclick the option for disabling phone skin. Then after restart, you will have the video call button back, but if in 128 or 92 dpi, you will have problems with manual dialing (not seeing what has been dialed).
If somebody here has video button and does not have the bug in 128/92 dpi, it means he has some other flavour of Phone Skin. If so, please let us know, so we can find the solution for this problem at last.
Hi
Video call button already built in the Black 2.0 rom. But if you use the 192DPI then you can use it. If you use 128 DPI or 96 DPI you have to disable the dialpad with the Video call button and use the standard HTc dialpad (which do not have the Video call button). If you not disable the Video call dialpad then you can't see on the screen what numbers you are dialing. Therefore you have to choose 192 DPI with video call or 128, 96 DPI without video call.
Good luck
Device: X7500 with PK2.0 + Addons, Radio 1.50
RealVGA @128 DPI
Network : Virgin300/300
Softwares: SPb Phonesuite, Spb Backup, Spb Diary, Spb Traveller, Spb Wallet, Spb Finance, Core Player
Its look that the skin (whith the videocall button) solves the problem. Finally, i can made videocalls...
Ok, better in 196k, can use the fingers a resize the fonts of the programs... Thanks

HTC Volume Control on Today Screen

I installed HTC Home Plugin on my Verizon XV6800 once before. When i did, it had a an icon on the today screen to control the units volume from ON, SILENT, and VIBRATE. It was the last icon to the right. I had to hard reset my unit. and now when I installed HTC HOME, it is no longer there.
I hate having to tap the tiny little speaker icon at the top of the screen in order to go into silent mode.
What gives?
Any suggestions how to get back or a recommendation for an add-on.
Thanks in advance.
HTCHome plugin has several features to it. If you're using a somewhat recent version, you should easily be able to activate the sound profiles on the today screen by going into Start->Settings->Today. Click on the HTCHome tab at the bottom and make sure Profile is checked.
Figured out what I did.
I originally installed the Kaiser 5 Button HTC plugin.
This time around i install the HTC Home Plugin from Freewarepocketpc.com
I just un-installed the later before seeing you post.
Which one is a more recent version?
The Kaiser has the feature I am looking for. You are saying its available on the HTC Home v1 if i do what you said?
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!
what about his other question about possible add-ons? i dont like htchome as a whole, but would like some little icon on the today screen that could quickly change sound profiles.
also, is there any way to ahve some kind of program, or registry edit that would allow a sound profile similar to most phones, like an ability to change to ring vs ring and vibrate without having to go into the ringer settings each time?
when my phone is by my bed, i put it on the lowest volume, but when i get a call or text message it still vibrates, cause thats how i like it on every other volume.
any suggestions?

dcd's Rom's Custom Rings

When I went from MR-1 to dcd 3.2.6, I noticed the addition of a few more alarm sounds, as well as, the vibrating being 3 short pulses instead of the 3 longer ones on the stock ROM. I had to go back to MR-1 and was wondering if anyone knew how to set the vibrate to be more like dcd's?

Might be with the registry setting of:
\HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\SDPUnlock\
ScriptVibrate
Mine is set at v0.15w0.15v0.15w0.15
Hope that helps.
That wasn't it. Mine was the same setting. Thanks though.

[FIXED] VAlert 1.21 - Customize vibration pattern

VAlert
Customize vibration on phone ring
This small program allows customizing vibration incoming call alerts.
Windows based phones vibrate either before the ring or constantly during the ring.
Having a short ringtone can possibly solve this problem, but with long mp3 ringtone the phone will constantly vibrate during the ring.
This program will enable Windows Mobile phones to produce short vibrations when the phone rings.
Vibration patterns can be easily changed by the user.
Possibly to match vibration patterns to the ringtone, so the phone will vibrate in a rhythm.
Very low (~4K) memory usage
This software is a freeware.
How to use
1. Install the CAB
2. Enjoy the program with default settings
3. The program is hidden by default. To display program window (if needed), run the program again
7. In Phone->Options make sure ring type is Vibrate and Ring
4. Edit script.txt to change vibration pattern. Every line in the file is a pair of vibration length and note pause
5. From the program window run Menu->Test to test the created pattern
6. Perform Menu->Hide to hide program window
What's new:
- More devices support, including non-HTC
- The installer executes the program upon installation (no soft reset required)
- No vibration on waiting call
- Support for incoming call ring mute (stop vibration)
- Silent start
- Even lower memory footprint - ~4K on standby (was 11K before)
sounds cool
gunna try now
you should make it so you tap the screen to show when u want it to vibrate instead of editing the .txt file
Edit: Great app but confusing to change the pattern
Edit2: lol doesnt seem to work on my vogue when i go to phone->options and press play its just a long vibrate
Ohh man i was about to post a thread on something like this. Thank you so much for making this!
Sounds nice. Will try it out. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing sir!
to save people the bother of working it out themselves, and to get everyone started...
here's my version of the Nokia classic message vibration
i can't hum it, so you'll need to try it, i guess!
Edit : Oh, by the way... is it possible to do something like this for recieving SMS / MMS / Email, or is that a different process altogether?

Yeah, that's what I wanted to ask too! Would be awesome, would be a very useful app, thanks. And yup, maybe an easier way to edit vibrates would be nice. However, it's cool now, for a version 1.
Future versions
Post your suggestions. I am making a list of changes for the next version.
Suggestions :
- a settings UI on the device (instead of having to pull the txt file off to PC and edit and then put back in on device)
- ability to change between multiple vibrate scripts (via drop-down menu or list?)
- if possible (?) ability to use vibrate scripts for SMS / MMS / Email / Other alerts
- vibe scripts that match pattern with the actual ring / message tone would be VERY cool
excellent little program, thanks a lot for the effort
if the other message alerts can be changed from within this (or even just another separate small app) it's just what i'm looking for!
and please can other people post their script efforts, it'd be good to have several pre-sets to start out with.
there might be a slight bug in this
a few calls have come through recently, the vibrate kicks in itself and the ringtone does not play for about 10 seconds or so.
also the programmed pattern seems distorted.
it might just be my device, as i'm noticing that S2U2's full screen call ID has been struggling to kick in when a call comes in these days since i started using Manilla2D as well.
it might be that the device is struggling to find the ID picture and the ringtone and the vibrate pattern at the same time, all the while trying to run M2D.
i'd check if it works correctly without all these extras running, but M2D and S2U2 are pretty much essentials for me these days.
anyone else care to help?

Do you have this problem with all calls or just some?
What do you mean by distorted pattern?
Does this problem happens when VAlert is disabled?
Thanks works great on my prophet with 6.1

Sounds nice. Will try it out. Thanks for sharing.

That's not a delay. By default (there is a registry setting to change it) the ring is delayed by 2 seconds. VAlert does not have that delay, so it will always start vibrating 2 seconds before the ring.
Nice tool... works goodm i like it!!!

[Q]SMS sound notification cut off

Hi!
I've a problem (or at least an annoying fact...) with my SMS notification sound since I#ve got my HD2 five months ago. But now I just can't stand it anymore
When recieving an SMS, the notification sound starts to play, but then (after about three seconds) the sound is just cut off. So if my notification would be a speech with "This is the notification sound" it would play like "This is the notific". I've tried a build in (very short) sound, and it works, as long as its under about three seconds. And I tried it with longer ones (over six seconds). Then, the sound is cut of periodically... So if my notification would be "This is the notification sound. And now you hear an even longer version of it" it would play like "This is the notific *silent* d now you he *silent* on of it.".
This happens on about 80% of the messages I get, the rest plays the notification just fine. There is no difference if the device is locked or not, or if I'm on some tab or just the home screen.
I tried to find some settings for this, used google and searched the forum for about two days about this topic but couldn't find an answer.
I think it might have something to do with the option to repeat a notification tone? But it's unchecked and the option is disabled by default (or Sense).
Maybe you have a solution for this.
Thanks in advice!
